We seem to be struggling to get this extra striker in and if Lorente goes to chelsea I'd try for batshuayi on loan if the don't want to do permenant move.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - not a bad shout eddy..

30 Aug 2017 22:20:16
Makes sense for both clubs and the player in a World Cup year. I think perosonally Everton as a club should
Be one of the top attractions Europe for a young developing striker look what we did for lukaku we have him the platform to prove himself to the world and didn't stand in his way of his big move. Would they want to go to Southampton now seeing vvd's siruation? Probably not just think whoever comes in will be the main striker for the never couple of seasons. We all know we are not at top club at this moment in time we are a project aiming to be that.

Newcastle will nab him tomorrow I'd say or he might go out on loan but that's just my opinion, Barkley, Niasse, McCarthty all gone tomorrow. In Denis Straculasi at 10.50 pm on loan and this Croatian lad watch this space.

30 Aug 2017 22:28:42
Denis Stracqualursi, there's a blast from the past. The South American Brett Angel.

Could see Leicester coming in for McCarthy if Drinkeater gets his move to Chelsea.

He's a quality squad player. Young only had injury problems the last year, when fit Koeman has used him. I love mo but he's not reliable injury or suspension wise, JMac is a better option.
Need a striker so badly.
I work in the private jet industry will keep my eye out tomorrow as lots of last minute charters will be called for.

31 Aug 2017 06:11:44
Was dolberg not supposed to be on a private jet a couple of weeks back? Still waiting for that to land, anyway I know we're in a much better situation at the club but I'm still struggling to shake of that old Everton deadline day feeling of it being a big anti climax, I'll be glad when it's over and hopefully couple more bodies on board with a quality no.9 in the ranks. fingers crossed.

We need a target man to make sure our earlier signings don't go to waste. They have all been bought to work around somebody who can hold the ball up. I can see costa on loan and vlasic and that will do for me til January as more will become available.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

30 Aug 2017 20:12:06
Once again i have to say, forget Costa coffee, the guy is a waste of space who will think he is the bees knees and upset the whole squad with his dramatics, great player, but we need harmony and a striker who wants to play for our club for seasons to come, not 6 months because he, s bored.

I agree Howard. January is the worst time to buy players as they tend to be over priced and only the poor ones available.

Striker, winger and left CB. Fingers crossed.

Rudy Gestede linked now! Fits the tall forward bill but not good enough in my eyes would prefer someone proven.

{Ed002's Note - Sanches moving to Swansea on loan is hardly a shock. If you knew more about the game and the characters involved then perhaps you would not make such statements.}

How is it Liverpool can agree a fee for Ox in 1 day that takes our board to try and knock 50p off a player who we want 2 seasons grrrrr.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - They are flush with cash from the Coutinho sale.}

30 Aug 2017 19:06:56
Yea, . and they have not built the new ground yet! what's going on.

Rumour has it that we have not even replaced old Maude the hot pie seller, we will be the laughing stock of the league, how can we make a "statement" signing when we got the same pie lady for crying out loud? and as for the cups of tea, well don't get me started on that subject, we are a joke!

Agree2 Disagree1

30 Aug 2017 19:29:06
Liverpool didn't really have to agree a price as Chelsea had already done that before Ox turned them down. I don't think he is anything special. 9 goals in total at arsenal. It's just because he is English.

Big news in next 2 hours I think (hope)

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 18:04:15
Doubt we could get Timo Werner over the line with such little time left tbh.

I would take Poulsen from RB Leipzig though. Whilst he isn't a prolific striker he is a main component for RB Leipzig's high pressing style imo .

He's tall around 6 3 I think. Fast, wins on average 5 arial duels per game compared to lewandowski's 2 per game.

Completes more tackles than any other player in the bundesliga most weeks.

And currently scores around 1 in 4

And he's still only 23.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

30 Aug 2017 22:11:49
I don't see why he'd be interested in everton, a big player in a champions league team to Europa league? Wouldn't make sense just yet and their owner isn't stingy, but weirder things have happened so who knows.

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Aug 2017 14:58:56
Away from transfer talk for a bit, rumours starting to circle that Usmanov looking to sell his shares, I always thought he would end up at Everton but not for few years.
You heard anything on this Ed or if not do you think this is something that could happen especially all the links to him through moshiri and sponsorship and the way there is still a lot of shares still there. I'm not usually one for putting 2+2 together but there is a lot of it that makes this look a natural process.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - No.}

30 Aug 2017 17:27:03
Young Striker Timo Werner to be the one? Odds also slashed by bookies 4/ 1 i would take him not quite a target man but a solid finisher. Take him and Vlasic for some pace. Get a left sided CB such as Vermaelen, would like Gibson but not likely now at this late in the window. A 6ft 3 striker wouldn't go a miss either to throw on Jansen on Loan from Spurs maybe don't rate him highly myself but Everton love a loan.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

30 Aug 2017 17:41:59

Ed" have we found our goal scorer? Timo Werner burst onto the scene last year when he scored twenty-one goals for RB Leipzig . Strongly linked with EVERTON in closing stages off window.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - he would do nicely mick, we seem to be linked to every striker on the planet though mate, everyone knows we are desperate for a forward so a lot of these rumours are just that..rumours..

30 Aug 2017 16:56:34
They won't sell didn't they qualify for the CL group stages he is tipped for Bayern Munich next year apparently they have a close eye on him so we can offer what we want but this one won't happen I'm afraid would be nice tho but won't happen sorry to put a downer on it.

By the looks of it, okaka spelling from Watford on loan and the young lad from split, but of a disappointing end if the rumours are true.

Agree1 Disagree2

30 Aug 2017 11:24:05
How's it disappointing exactly. When was the last time we ever brought in up to 15 players ( including U23 players) in one transfer window. We normally name one good signing and a couple of squad fillers. Pickford, Keane, Klaasen, Sigurdsson, Rooney, Cuco, Sandro all into first team. Just missing the target man. It's about players who play to Evertons strengths. The Watford lad may be just OK at Watford, but could hit the ground running at Everton. Let's see what's what at midnight on Thursday.

Agree9 Disagree1

30 Aug 2017 12:52:32
I didn't mean in anyway the transfer window has been disappointing, just we've been linked to some good strikers and now we are being linked to players who aren't good enough in teams that are lower in the league than us with a very poor record, we sold lukaku and haven't replaced him, keoman has said on many occasions his priority is to bring in a striker, we are now down to the last day and still nothing, roo at can't do it all on his own, sandro needs time, klaasson needs time, but we don't have time to bed all these players in and still finish top 4, we need someone who can guarantee goals while the others adjust, if we don't then we may struggle, at the moment our defence is playing fantastic and keeping us in the games.

Agree0 Disagree4

30 Aug 2017 13:52:29
Maybe now it's time to trust Walsh. He plucked Kante, Vardy and Mahrez from lower league obscurity and look how they turned out. He also got Gana for us from a team who had just been relegated and he's been a resounding success. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 14:08:22
That is rubbish, these players stood out from lower leagues, these player are not stand out players, there players who can't get a game in an inferior team, get your fact right, in that case why haven't we just said to Walsh go get all our players from the lower leagues, it's not that easy, we've had a whole summer to get someone in and now we are still trying, if we wanted carry, Giroud, welbeck we should of put bids in for them like we did in the beginning of the window, we are now down to desperate measures and to me all seems abit daft bringing in someone who is probably no better than naisse.

Agree0 Disagree4

30 Aug 2017 14:37:39
Have to agree Blue_heart, happy with all our business but we should have had a striker in at least a month ago. We knew we were losing Lukaku since March/ April.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 14:56:41
I agree that it's not that easy to just find a gem, but nothing I said was factually incorrect. You can't tell me that being a 'stand out' player in a Ligue 2 side in France or in the Conference necessarily means something compared to a player who is on the bench at a Premier League team.

What Walsh does is notice specific attributes that will fit in to the style of play that Koeman wants. And as Dentie says, sometimes players work well with one particular team or manager's style of play. So although I am also sceptical of the likes of Okaka, until they prove me otherwise, I'm going to trust Walsh and Koeman and not judge a book by it's cover.

Agree1 Disagree1

30 Aug 2017 17:08:42
In order to maintain finishing even seventh we have had to make the signings we have, the money spent is irrelevant but at the current market rate.
At present the loss of Lukaku has left a huge hole we still need to fill, in so much of the goals we need to maintain scoring!
We have significantly improved at the back and in midfield.
I st think we need a striker, defender and wide creative player.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 22:17:44
I don't see Everton finishing in the top 4 if I'm honest, you need that striker and even then I'd say you're a season or two behind, finishing above Tottenham and arsenal is plausible though so 5th, is say that's a good steady improvement and then go all out for the key striker next season and you'll be there, but this season without that striker I don't see t happening (still one day left though so fingers crossed).

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 09:50:21
hello more like no strikers would get in our team ahead of the world class rooney and sandro. We do not need more players as there is not a lot out there that would improve or even get into our team. We currently have the best squad in europe. We are untouchable We are the mighty Everton fc. Let everyone else desperately scramble for players while we sit back knowing we have a world class team and a world class manager and a very wealthy owner who has splashed the cash this summer. very exciting times ahead.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 08:43:57
Well I see the panic button has been well and truly pushed. You know I believe had the club made all its signings at the end of this window then none of you would be complaining. You would have done that already. But know they get the quality players in early, and everyone's happy. For a couple of weeks anyway.
Then it's "we need Walsh to unearth a gem", so we sign a couple of players nobody has heard of, and it's why are we wasting money on them.
Now the latest one is why haven't we bought a striker?, and we need another defender. Talk about fickle.
For the first time in the last thirty years ( and I have supported this club heart and soul for fifty four) I can see the club moving forward. But it won't happen overnight. Now you youngsters should be embracing this, you have so much to look forward to. A new owner, a new ground (which I hope to live long enough to see) , and a new team.
Please, please stop moaning and think of where we where a couple of seasons ago. Look at your programmes, and look at the names on them, and compare them to the names we have now.
We are on our way back people, enjoy it because this is what memories are made of. Trust me I know. Long live the eighties, and long live the blues.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

30 Aug 2017 09:21:40
Last I seen RK was also asking for a striker and a CB. And it's not moaning, it's just stating the obvious. I personally think we need some speed desperately on the wings. Again I'm not moaning, just stating what I see.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 09:21:54
I am with you there Woburn and I have posted similar posts to yours on here, I cannot believe some still moan and can't see the progress being made, some seem think it all happens overnight like in the football manager games!
There is even the financial changes being made more income and better commercially which will allow us to start competing better financially and afford these better players and satisfy FFP!

Agree0 Disagree1

30 Aug 2017 09:38:09

Agree0 Disagree2

30 Aug 2017 09:46:57
Still want left sided players. Defender and mid not bothered about a striker to be honest. If we get Vlasic then that's the LM/ W. Still we have had a very good transfer window so far and the team is in much better shape than the last couple of seasons. COYB.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 10:16:39
I don't see it as moaning Woburneblue .
Firstly I respect and accept to a degree what you are saying .
Yes we have moved forward tremendously BUT if you sell
your main asset and scorer of nearly ALL your goals but have no replacement with only two days remaining of the transfer window it COULD cause us to move backwards after as you point out such strides forwards .
I think or hoped that before lukaku left we already had a replacement lined up .
It looks like we took our eye off the ball ( excuse the pun ) with the Sig signing .
I think fans are frustrated that a club that has done brill this summer could possibly have caused us to be in a position were we struggle for goals AND I THINK RK KNIWS THAT
You are correct though we have done excellent plus possible ground move so both views are correct .

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 11:43:44

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 11:59:07
EXACTLY Stef the Blue could not have emphasized it better RK says we NEED a striker and he knows better than anyone .
I just cannot understand why they left it so late .
If fans are moaning about not having a striker they are only doing what RK is doing also.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 16:26:50
I think it is down to Everton being over confident of Giroud signing, now it's gone tits up we are looking for a plan b and c and time is running out still we have over 20 midfielders so panic over.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Aug 2017 07:58:50
Why are we turning down 25.mill for Barkley? one year left on his contract out til Christmas with injuries are we mad 😡 please just take the money and put it towards trying to get s striker . The chap wants out so he will be gone for nothing next season doesn't make sense if the reports are true we turned down that offer.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

30 Aug 2017 08:30:07
Just to add to my post, so let me get this straight he is out injured till December he can sign a pre contract for another club if he has only 6 months left on a contract. So we continue to pay his wages when we could take the 25.mill and get him of the wage bill that could all go towards getting another striker in that we seem to desperately need Barkley is gone lads doesn't want to play for us anymore if he had 2 years left or more I could understand trying to hold out for more but the guy is gone in a year either way just bloody sell him there is no way Chelsea are going to pay 40mill for him now 25.mill seems reasonable for me come on Everton it's too late now in the window for all this messing accept it and go get a striker.

30 Aug 2017 09:51:57

I hate it when football Chairmen and Managers and Scouts do their job in the summer transfer window. we need some bloke on a chat room to get involved and show em what's what! 15 players signed with 36 hours to go and I am still really unhappy! This club is a joke! Its ridiculous and what's more, this stadium will be 3 or 4 years away! Totally unacceptable to buy my club and spend a fortune on it. gone are the days when we can just go out and buy a Thomas Radzinski for a few old buttons and a good feed at Bills place.

From what I have seen it's a possible loan which would be better than nothing. They may be lining him up as plan B.
And he did score that classy backheel against us last season and ran our defence ragged at times.

I think its quite obvious that we need a striker but to replace lukaku like for like isn't going to happen. No top striker will want to come to us at this moment in time unless its costa on loan. We need to be patient as hard as that will be this season as although we have "money" now, the teams above seem to still have a lot more. This will likely take a few seasons to change providing we keep progressing the way we have. Aslong as the clubs moving forward i'm happy win lose or draw its about the end game at the end of the day. Stay positive, realistic and here's to a great season. Hopefully hah.
