On this site and others our fans are saying the club is publicising the new stadium plans to get more season ticket sales. Even a few thousand more sales won't pay our top earners wages. Simple fact is the agm was a good time to bring it up and it seems to be fairly advanced. 50000 does not seem a big increase in capacity but i'm sure there will be scope to increase if required.

Anyone got any Stats on Clattenberg Officiating Reds games this Season. Which games, score, penalties. Other games against their rivals for title and their Results. Just want to know if there is a pattern, because my Paranoia about him suggests there is.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

7 wins 2 loses 5 draws. League games only.

Thanks blueboy, knew it, he's a dodgy chear and a RS. FA should investigate him.

when does Lukaku's loan end? the season ends on the 11/5 does he return then. if so could Chelsea register him for the CL final if they make it?

{Ed002's Note - It ends like all contracts at the end of June.}

A reflection. I have never known a football season like this. It is quite incredible to consider that at the beginning of this season most of the reds support was wanting their manager sacked. Their banter page was filled with pages of "Brendan has to go!" statements. Manchester United were getting ready for Mr Moyes to take over exactly where Sir Red Nose had left off. albeit with a certain amount of nerves and tension. None of us knew what to expect of RM, but many were optimistic. Right now we all await the last 2 games knowing we could be in Europe. but in which competition.and the reds wait to see if they will be champions. My only hope is that somehow they will not. but I am guessing they will.it is sod's law. and all through my life, when it comes to the reds. it is sod's law! If luck and controversy has anything to do with football.it comes between EFC and that lot!

Over the last few months I've kept an eye on the stories in the Daily Mail. There is a perception that the Sun is the Devils newspaper. Given the city's history with that paper that's probably true but in my opinion this dirt bag of a rag is the ultimate lowest of the low. It is the most anti Everton rumourspaper out there. Not one positive story comes out of it. They do their absolute best to destabilise and mess up what we are doing. Performance based praise is minimal and begrudging yet criticisms after defeat cover a double page spread and are written with delight. Going through their online archive this is a summary of separate headlines over that period in no particular order

Barkley to Liverpool
Barkley to Chelsea/City
Barkley to Utd
Stones to Arsenal
Stones to City
Coleman to Man Utd
Coleman to Arsenal
Martinez to Arsenal
Martinez to Utd
Martinez to Spurs
Martinez to Barca
Martinez to Ajax (today's gem)
Everton loans 'ruining' football with comparisons to 'open door immigration'
Lukaku to everyone but Everton
Barry to everyone but Everton
Why Ashley Cole is England's best left back (another from today)

All of this suddenly appeared as we were mounting serious challenge for Top 4. Martin Samuel plays role of chief tormentor. The most loathsome man in sports journalism. Not sure how our executives and legal teams allow such a consistently aggressive smear campaign based on lies and misinformation but they do.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - the mail have never done us any favours oli, samuel cant see past chelsea and liverpool mate, they are the papers darlings, i just dont read it mate...the daily sport is better journalism..

Absolute tosh that paper.its only good for burning.its not just the papers tho.these expert pundits all think that because we ain't run by a russian or american billionaire that we only do well because the rich teams played bad.well sorry.its 11 vs 11. Man against man.the cost of a player means nothing against a player with heart and drive.hope we do to city what we have been doing against em in recent years.

I love how they make fools of themselves at the end.

Got a feeling our new Stadium if it goes ahead will be based on the same design as the Aviva stadium in Dublin Everton officials spent two days in Dublin last summer looking at the design and intierer of the Stadium and that is a classy stadium.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Personally, I would prefer something like the new Juventus arena in Turin. Compact, with the crowd close to the pitch creating a mega-amosphere. It's been like a 12th man for Juve since they moved there.

nice looking stadium, but one end looks like it holds almost no fans, whereas the other 3 sides hold 3 story tiers. surely something similar, but not the same would be appropriate as sitting behind the goals also has its benefits. maybe 3 tiers along each side line, with 2 tiers at each end. There's a cracking website I found with all recent applications and possible build pictures from around the globe for us to click and think of ideas we would like for efc to take. what do u guys think?

The Aviva leaks!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its ok there insurance will fix it

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone correct me if in wrong, but my understanding was we visited the Aviva to look into what we could potentially do at Goodison. Because of the space issue any redevelopment or rebuild of Goodison would have to be innovative. It wouldn't look like a normal 45k+ stadium. The Aviva is of a shape that could have worked for us. But obviously I think they've ditched that idea now. Good shout about Juve stadium Tezza.

Whats the deal with our own fans wanting us to lose? When I first heard the question I didn't even give it air time. But now I see a great wave of support for CITY in our next game? Are you people for real? Do you know what Everton conceding does to me? That low empty feeling, probably similar to when your wife has just left you for the milkman. Do you not get that feeling? How can you want another team to beat us? Is Liverpool really that important to you? Why do you care if they win the league? Are you not strong enough to put up with a few weeks gloating? Even if they do win it they will always be remembered as the team who won it with record number of pens with thanks to teams capitulating around them and that year Moyes ruined Utd. What will you do if City score? Celebrate? Will you be celebrating a goal scored by City against Everton? Some even want to sing the City anthem? Do you not remember what City are? Their disgraceful pursuit of Lescott, that passion and commitment we always showed to step up against them, show them that their money is worth jack. I hate City. And we want to gift them a title? Give them another step closer to reaching our Title tally? How are you gunna explain to your kid dressed in blue that your celebrating an Everton loss? Would you not take more pride in putting on a great show, smashing City, watching Liverpool win the league and respond to their taunts by stating they only won it because of EVERTON? That lads should be our morale high ground.

Oil

a few weeks! we are still hearing about eastend bul, in my heart I never want efc to lose, and I only care about efc. but it would shut the smug lot up. and its that's a sin am going to hell.

They gloated when we were going down, and that hurt

Agree0 Disagree0

But we didn't go down. So that's egg on their faces.just remind em who has played in the top division the longest. Efc and gunners.not liverpool, not man utd, we all know city were a yo yo club and chelsea ain't always graced the top flight. I would love to tonk city then hull.ive said before as long as we win i'm not bothered about other teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

You'll be disappointed if you sit next to me then.
I'm an old f&rt and been lucky to see some good times at GP and beyond following the Blues. Likewise they have let me down on many occasions but I always come back for more because like most on here they are a massive part of my life.
I don't particularly want the Europa cup as Thursday and Sunday games are a pain so the argument for the extra point we need is moot. Arsenal failing to get the points they need? Unlikely.
So from my seat the best thing Everton and it's players can do for me is lose the game. With the late kick off I can't promise what I'll do regards my reaction to city scoring as I'm setting out early to meet a mr jack Daniels. But if EFC win or draw then they will have let me down again.
Those of us that go the game and live local are well aware of how that shower will react if they win the league. Even if we throw the game I'm convinced they will find a way to have city or Chelsea deducted points with the help of the media.
As has been pointed out already it's not just a few weeks - it's for years and it's in your face all the time.
It's already started with all the new rs tops around and all these people who, until sometime in the last eleven games realised they were rs supporters all along and 'according to the telly we've won the league haven't we'.
So anyone else who has a holier than thou attitude about our own fans had better have more up their sleeve than 'get a grip' or 'I can't believe what I'm reading' or 'I always want the blues to win' etc etc
I have not met any blues since arsenal won the other night that want Everton to win or draw.
I have upset a number of rs when I tell them I'm cheering for city ( this is unlikely but not impossible).
The rs that do go the game are much more accepting of our point of view, it is the armchair and 'just out of the woodwork' ones that seem so outraged.

Well stuff them, I'm bitter and I'm proud :-)

COY(sky)B's

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish the Wife did leave me for the Postman! and as for City .I'll be cheering if we win but I'll be cheering louder if we lose, Que sera sera.

Agree0 Disagree0

I will be going to our final home game of what's been a terrific 1st season for bobby. We all know our season is over. Personally not bothered if we don't get europa but likely we will. With injuries and the atmosphere being strange I think city will win anyway. They will want it more. I have never ever wanted us to lose a match but if it means the smug deluded armchairs don't win the league it will be worth it. If the shoe was on the other foot do you think the reds would be trying? I think not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair points lads. I'll be supporting us though! I don't think Liverpool are gunna win both their games anyway

hi boys just reading through when come across some season ticket chat I got my renewal form 10 weeks ago filled it in and sent it off on the tuesday on the thursday morning £695 was taken from my account by efc my season ticket still had 3 games left the date for the early bird price was 17th of may. If I get my renewal for my car insurance it does not get taken out until the date my insurance from the previous year has expired so what right does the club have to take the money out before the due date I could have not had the funds in the bank at the time. Would my application then have been nul and void. I could also have gone overdrawn and been charged with overdraft fees can someone contact the club and get a response yours mossley hill al it is just that this could happen to somebody else who does not have the funds in place when the send in there renewal

I am a Liverpool fan through and through. that being said I wanted to pass on some good luck for the city match. regardless of whether or not We (LFC) pull out the league I think it would be brilliant to see us both playing CL footy next season. I think we've both had a wonderful season and it would nice to see you guys sneak into the Top 4. seeing some blues fans posting that they hope to lose against city to spite our title hopes is disappointing as it will essentially end your own top 4 aspirations. again good luck and YNWA.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - if only you all felt that way slim, i have deleted numerous posts from reds which say the contrary mate, i too hope we beat city though, but not for liverpools sake but our own..

30 Apr 2014 10:23:43
Ed I think todays poll could of bin put out a little better I just voted no to a new chairman and 81% no to a new chairman but it should of bin do fans want a new owner but keep the same chairman and I think it would of been 100% yes

Calling all Blues

Having just been called bitter etc by a GS in work, even after I said I want everton to win on Sat, the stuff he said isn't printable.

I have now reassesed my position, and I want CITY to win 1 nil last min goal.
But I want everyone in the ground to sing Blue Moon how good would that be.

ed can you put it to a poll would everton fans sing it to rub salt in

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i cant really do that ste, it would only create hatred and resentment mate, i know how you feel, but the site would go into meltdown with that, and its not worth the hassle fella..

Welcome back Ste. It's only one game and to begin with, I too was torn over this. But having considered all the arguments, to me it's a no brainer for one game. Concede to City to stop the red rubbish. We'll beat Hull the following week to claim a Euro spot which will be a tremedous achievement for this season. However by cheering for Everton this weekend and potentially handing them that trophy is just too awful to contemplate.
Come on City.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Daveyboy

city till I die, well at least till sat after the match lol then monday am a palace fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Ste, I work with Kopites aswell they do my head in sometimes I know what it feels like. Now the word bitter that they call us proves just how much of a bunch of Hippocrates they are they hate seeing Manchester United do well it kills them and they don't hide that fact personally I don care anything for Utd but they are very bitter over Utd and that is a fact.See what annoys kopites is Evertonians don't bow down to them we don't comment on there success that they keep reminding everybody about we don't praise them but just want our own club to do well, they think everybody should lay the red carpet down for them but Everton don't and that annoys them there is a great word in the dictionary you should use the next time they start rambling and word is Ignore I use it all the time around them when they talk about there history you should try it mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't like the idea of Liverpool winning, but I'm not comfortable that a club with such great fans as our club would really will on another team to beat us just because it may mean Liverpool don't win the league.

I'm pretty certain people would not be saying this if we were in a relegation battle like the 90's. Of course, I may be wrong though!

Dont mean to be arrogant Souther mate, are you living down South now and are you surrounded by them daily

As I said mate downt mean to sound arrogant but it could explain your different view

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - when we were in trouble and needed to beat wimbledon to stay up..they were loving it!..even had a coffin with EFC on it outside a pub!...they are only civil when we are not a direct threat to them..

Hey guys,
Liverpool fan here. You get knobhead fans for everyteam sadly this is part and parcel of the game. You shouldn't wish for your own team to lose though just for another team not to stand a chance of winning the league.

Arsenal are playing 2 teams in a relegation scrap that could see them drop points, and you blues heading to the champs league.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i agree with your first point bob, but as we all know there is nothing nicer than rubbing our noses in it when you lot are doing well for a lot of your fans, i remember 94 mate, when we had to beat wimbledon to stay up, oh how you celebrated when they took the lead, there is a lot of bitterness between the clubs, but its not all 1 sided, i personally dont care who wins the league if everton dont, and im sure that after 38 games the one who deserves it will win..

Cmon ed / Toffees,
Do it for Ric Wee!

Agree0 Disagree0

Here here ED25, I mentioned that yesterday, the fact we are on a par they hate it

Agree0 Disagree0

It's ok Murphman I would be the same mate, my experience would be very different I imagine as I am down here. Born down here but my dad is from toxteth and supports Everton which is why I support them and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am a teacher down here though, and I can say that the Liverpool fans here, both teachers and pupils have popped up more regularly than they have in previous seasons!

Agree0 Disagree0

I know we will all feel terrible if Liverpool win the league and its tempting to want us to "bravely" lose against city on Saturday but think how much worse you would feel if by some miracle Arsenal lost both their remaining games and we could have pipped them to 4th if only we had gone at city. Just sayin :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey ed 25 CHEERS FOR THE REPLY!
Not being from liverpool originally, (northwales)I won't quite understand the scouse divide. I was also pretty young in the early 90's and late 80's so missed a lot of the closely fought contests etc for the league.

I've just always been one of those fans that regardless of who's in european competition etc.I'll support the British side as I think it speaks volumes for the English game the better we do. Also my step dad is an evertonian, and I never wanted to see him miserable when I was younger so never really ''hated '' on the blues.

Maybe it was my circumstances I don't know. But from my view I would certainly be hoping for a liverpool win in a role reversal.

Good luck on Saturday any way fellas. (even if you don't want it)
