We are not going to win the Title. We could and should be looking to compete fully and be looking to possibly go a long way in BOTH of the Cups! Not any more after that insulting dross tonight against Southampton in the Carabao Cup. We haven't had any continuity at all yet this season until finally we showed somehingin the 2nd half against Fulham. So instead of naming an unchanged strong side Silva changes the team and once again we see an abject poor performance and Everton once again re knocked out of a Cup in the early stages. These players are hugely overpaid and play less football than ever, they shouldn't need resting and the aim of this club should be to try to win every game. bloody awful performance again and we badly need a decent midfielder because sadly Tom Davies has not stepped up and our midfield is non existent offering no protection at all to the back four. Oh for another Howard Kendall to come along. Poor penalty takers. very poor performance against an average team who wanted it more.

After a motivating 3 nil win at the weekend, why oh why drop seven players, stick with the same eleven, build confidence, no wonder we concede goals if we keep making changes.
Absolutely no need to make any changes, let alone seven.
We are not in any European games so go all out to win one of the two cups.
Sick to death, year in year out not playing our strongest 11 in the cup games.

A lot of posters here have been crying out for Lookman and Bernard to play and finally got their wish, we have a squad that needs using but I really felt last night was a step to far in terms of the amount of change.
This competition is our best hope of a trophy as top clubs will play weakened teams we should not have! I thought we looked uninterested and 7 shots all game sums it up, it seems to be an attitude issue, let’s face it Southampton are not a good team and Leicester in the next round is winnable!
The penalties missed were absolute crap I’ve seen Sunday players more committed to scoring .

I really want Silva to succeed, but he made a big mistake tonight. Cups are the only competitions we have a chance in, and felt we just threw it away tonight. Should have played our strongest eleven from the start. Though roughly pissed off right now.

Why could he not play the same 11 that won at the weekend? A huge opportunity for a final or at least a semi final gone. A great chance to keep a settled side and let them grow in confidence. How sad.

Nice problem to have isn't it Johny? I'm looking forward to Mina coming into the side but Keane and Zouma do seem to be getting an understanding, a partnership going (albeit with a few hiccups on the way) and we also have Holgate and Jagielka in the wings
When we were all talking about the team for Fulham I said I was leaving it up Silva as he should have the best handle on it. I wasn't shirking the responsibility, its not mine anyway and I'm going to do the same again this time, confident that he knows what he is doing. Let's give the Saints hell!

Keane is undroppable at the moment. I can't believe I'm saying that but he has been outstanding of late.
I would put the strongest team out as possible. This is a tournament we can win and should do all we can do that. There's no Europe so you can forget fatigue but another win is more confidence.

Drop Zouma. Not because of form but because he’s temporary. Put Mina in and let him settle with Keane that can then be the main partnership with the threat of Zouma to come in should form drop.
