Hate to say this but our friends across the Park are playing some good stuff. Hate to say it because ever since the 80's we have lived in their shadow and I for one think it is about time we made a move.

Well hopefully tomorrow we start to make our move. A win could put us 2 points from fourth and keep us in touching distance.

Also looking forward to seeing the main stand. Havent seen it for a couple weeks and won't be too far away from being done. The two ends looked really good all covered in blue.

Re ground being "tarted up" just to appease fans while they continue to drag their feet over new ground. I know before you say confidentiality etc but come on its getting beyond a joke . But they will continue to treat us like mushrooms.
I know a lot of reds and they think its a real hoot.
we were shouting 4th Grace and they painting the stands!

Listen Trebor our ground has been MINTY for a while and its needed a FRESHEN up. Our new ground will SPEAR us to a new beginning and get us out of the HOLE we've been in so don't be MR SOFT.

Been said before on here, but I think it's worth acknowledging again how much it seems like we've dodged a bullet, missing out on Kone.

He's not even like Gueye, either, where he is just in a bad team. His flaws are so glaring and fundamental that it's worrying we where so keen to sign him.

I think it was only his pace that we would benefit from at the back other than that his positional awareness is woeful at best.

Totally agree, why sign an old, 'over the hill' Everton supporter?
I said the same when we signed Peter Reid.

I'm not old enough to relate to this as I was born in the eighties only thing I would say is football has evolved a lot over the 30 years since Reid was signed so can't really compare the 2 signings. I'm not saying he is finished, what I am saying is that the player has been in decline for the past 2 seasons, his scoring record reflects that and also he has lost that yard of pace, there's a hint of Michael Owen here regarding pace and is the technical ability still there to open up defences? Surely he would be starting for United if it was. I just don't see how we can justify the outlay on gambling if the past few seasons were a blip or if the man in question just isn't good enough at the highest level. Sentiment can be a sucker and we can't afford to risk a signing on sentiment alone. Regardless of what I think if the management team feel he is worth that gamble I will stand by there decision.
