He has been out of work for ages hasn't he. If he's so good he would have been snapped up a while ago off someone.

i"m sorry but i am sitting here watching the leicester man.city game and i just can't bleave that a team whose fans use hand clappers to create atmosphere cud actually win the league i just can't take them seriously but i know i should do but the fans using them hand clappers its not intimadating or scary its panto.mimish it just brings home how low we have gone and wot we have missed out on because our ground when we are fighting for somthing worth winning can be like bear pit and very scary without these pathetic hand clappers we have blew it big time.

naisy off to norich for 8 mill gooamount of cash if it happens but will miss the player gave 100% every game and has been harshley treated since hatrick against chelsea.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

29 Dec 2015 21:17:19
Unless we have someone lined up to take his place it would be a mistake to let a goal scoring threat leave the club, he hasn't had a look in since the hatrick against chelsea his place being taken by Kone who is about as threatening as a toothless rotty. Not the most skillful of players Naisy but always gives 110pc and has an eye for a goal and a good finisher to boot. Plus the fact he's a top top bloke very humble and has done a great deal of charity work on Merseyside as well as Glasgow. Good luck to him if he does leave.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 21:43:51
Like Naismith gave his all for the Club and as stated harshly treated. Probably told Martinez he didn't have a clue. Martinez being so far up his own rear end has no idea how to manage and being a yes man expects everyone else to be the same. Not just Naisy going but I can see Lukaku, Mirallas etc being the next. Had to put up with a lot of serious shit over this Christmas break and this brilliant tactical Manager taking us further and further down the league has been the icing on the cake.

If City win tonight top 4 is definitely gone we won't get it so fifth has to be our aim which is still achievable. Fifth and winning a cup will do me we might still lose one or two of our best players but I think realistically that's all we can get. But we have to beat Spurs no draw just win the game and I don't care how we do it. So for me it starts with Spurs on Sunday and then take it from there.

Not going to happen with that defence and tactics. Lucky to finish top ten.

Agree3 Disagree1

29 Dec 2015 17:02:06
Stef your dreaming I thought at best we'd finish where your talking about. That was 10 games into the season when we had tough games played. With the fixtures we had after that I thought 5th and maybe a cup. In hindsight after seeing how we done in the last 8 games not a hope is my opinion.

At this stage I think we'll do well to finish in top 10. We are going backwards. January is a very tough month of fixtures. If we let 7 in against Bournemouth and Stoke what hope have we against Man City? Or even Spurs who have let in less than half the amount of goals we have this season.

I hate being negative but I don't think I am being negative. More like realistic.

We all know Martinez has his flaws, and his loyalty to Howard probably will cost him his job. But I do feel sorry for him in this respect: His current centre back partnership. Mori and Stones are both very good players. But they just don't gel together (even if you set aside their problem that they obviously don't trust Howard) . We had a similar problem with Heitinga and Distin, as they both worked well with Jags but not with each other. This is why Jagielka is so underrated. He works well with literally anyone. We really miss his leadership at the moment. Especially as Howard doesn't command his box.

Spot on there Tom, need Jags back asp.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 17:06:15
Jags back would be a help. Don't think he has a magic wand though. Don't think when he comes back we'll suddenly stop letting in goals. Howard will still be the keeper and all the defenders confidence will be at an all time low.

Ed can we do a poll to see how many fans want Martinez sacked because of our defensive frailties? I'm not sure if nows the time to sack him but do think if we get major investment then he is not the man to lead us, therefore if the takeover comes to fruition we need a more experienced Manager. Who that could be i've no idea but Managers are as loyal as players these days. So offering more money than they are currently getting paid and 99% will jump ship.

If he did get the sack, and I am one of many who want shut of this bullshitting fraud, what about getting stubbsy in? he's doing a great job up at hibs, with big dunc as his assistant. can't see us leaking goals left right and centre like we are now.

We should stand by the team and hope this tactical nightmare (Martinez) sorts his act out, remember EFC manager is one of the safest jobs in the world.

Fortunately for you lot I have had trouble logging on for the last 2 weeks. So not only have I been frustrated with the Blues, I have been frustrated with bloody computers. Well here goes. It seems we leak goals more than a sieve leaks water. To win a football match, you usually score more goals than the opposition. We rely on 1 player to get our goals and without his goals we would be bottom of the table. So to sum up. we used to be a solid side under Mr Moyes (yes I know he said some bad things and we all wanted exciting football. hail Roberto the messiah) but if we lose Lukaku to Utd or someone. we will have a team of players who score 1 goal each a season and so will lose a lot more games than we do now. oh the other 2 player who score regularly are Mirallas and Naismith and both of these are rumoured to be leaving. exciting times ahead in the Championship I think. I have been saying it for 3 seasons now and had some very heated debates about it with fellow Blues who said I was talking rubbish! I now wish I was.!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

29 Dec 2015 11:11:43
It was only last week people were giving out about Moyes and how they wouldn't have him back. I always was a Moyes man.

We might be damn glad to have him back yet. I said months ago that Martinez's loyalty to Howard could cost him his job. Didn't see anyone say that before I posted it. Seen a few say it since.

Alot depends on this takeover. If it doesn't happen I dread to think what will happen to the team and our individual players. If it does happen anything is possible after that. Good or bad.

Couldn't see new owners looking for Moyes as they wouldn't have the past Bill has with him. New owners also might not be as patient with Martinez as BK is.

Could be big changes for Everton by the end of the season. let's hope its for the better.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 11:58:15
To be fair we don't want Moyes back. Moyes would turn Lukaku into a 5 goal a season striker and Barkley and Deulofeu wouldn't even play. You're also being ridiculous if you think that Moyes would drop Howard. he loved the guy, and was even worse than Martinez for playing his faves all the time. You just want him back because Osman would be a guaranteed starter under Moyes eh Degs? Realistically we need a manager who is the perfect balance between Moyes and Martinez. A bit of grit with a bit of flair. Great passing and goals from open play, but with good structure and goals from set pieces.

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 12:33:27
Basically Mourinho! Would be brilliant. Swan pointed at Mourinho. Can't see it happening.

Unless this take over happens and we have 100's of millions to spend. That's dreaming but wouldn't it be sweet.

I don't think Moyes is silly. Therefore I don't think he'd do what you state above Blue Tommy.

I think if he came in he'd be ruthless and make a big overhaul. Drop Howard straight away. He'd know what's best for the club.

And also best for himself if he was manager. Think he'd be too shrewd to do the stupid things you point out above.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 14:36:28
He did do them though NBTB, had Ross rotting in the reserves whilst playing Neville every game and loves Howard. Didn't bench him for Mucha after Mucha came in and did well vs City just like Martinez with Joel, he threw Howard straight back in. I'm not interested in an argument but I doubt Moyes will suddenly change in to Jurgen Klopp and have us playing fast aggressive Football and drop all the bad players and do everything the fans want. He didn't do it for 10 years here nor at Utd or Sociedad.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 17:20:38
No I'm not going to start arguing either. It was different back then with Howard. Its ten times worse now. I don't think he will turn into Klopp.

I also don't think he would start playing Osman every game. I think he would play Barkley. I know you don't agree Swan but imo Moyes didn't play Barkley while he was here because he thought he wasn't ready. That was over 3 years ago.

Moyes would not love Howard with the amount of goals he's letting in and would deal with it straight away. Everyone knows Moyes was tough and would eat players while giving out to them. Martinez is too nice. Players change over time and Moyes would know that all too well and deal with it accordingly.

I found someone mentioning a statue for Moyes amusing. I'm not blind to my opinion on Moyes.

However I do think he would come in and steady the ship. Especially the defence. Get us challenging for Europe and maybe buy some value. While he is doing that I would look for a manager to take Everton to the next level.

Someone like exactly Klopp. Someone who is between Martinez and Moyes. But first I think it would be important to steady things. As we are sliding back towards the bottom half of the table slowly but surely.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 19:44:02
What do you mean not ready?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 22:30:30
Swan I told you I'm not going to argue. You said it too. Imo Barkley wasn't ready to start playing regularly when Moyes was here. Moyes obviously thought so.

Don't start listing off players who started playing at 16 like Rooney. If they are good enough they are old enough. Every player is different.

Look at Vardy? What age is he? Wouldn't of thought he had it in him at 28.

Seems a lot of us are saying the same thing and that is that this side is being mis managed badly by what can I only describe as a league 1 at best manager. He has had his critics on here and also he has had his supporters (who have gone awfully quiet after yesterday) but finally it is being noticed by pundits and media alike, and this cannot be good for the club to be seen supporting a manager who took a side down playing with the exact same football and stubbornness. Sorry but actions speak louder than words so the board can remain quiet as long as they rid us of Mike Walker mark 2

At the stage the club are at with negotiations for investors surely Kenwright and the board must be looking at Martinez as a liability who is jeopardising any chance there is of any sort of sale going through?
We can't defend period, we have a keeper that has a decent game 1 in 5, shipping 4 goals at Goodison which used to be a fortress is nothing new now, it's a joke!
Frank De Boer recently was looking to come to the prem, we need a lift big time!

Can someone explain the mentality of some of the supporters at Goodison? .

2-1 down and they are keeping hold of the ball so they can't take a throw in? Was the same at home to Sunderland in Martinez's first season when we were 1-0 down and the morons wouldn't give it to Joel for a goal kick.

Booing and hurling abuse at Shaqiri when he went to take a corner.

Booing at Jon Walters, despite him being a massive blue and his parents being season ticket holders with us.

Screaming at Kone when he loses the ball on the halfway line then not clapping when he sprints 30 yards and wins it back.

Screaming abuse at the linesman half an hour after Shaqiri scored that chip saying it was offside, what nonsense, nowhere near offside.

Can anyone who does this sort of thing please explain it? .

Believable2 Unbelievable0

29 Dec 2015 08:50:28
Add to that Booing your own side, that is unacceptable. Criticism of the side and staff should come afterwards on boards such as this. The Team incidentally no matter how talented can only play whatever is put in front of them and adapt the Managers instructions and tactics to do so. Anyone who says RM is a good Manager after this ridiculous Sunday Morning park football result needs their head examining. The problem is that Roberto is an excellent waffler/ Bull Shitter and yes man. Before the second half of the season starts against Spuds, Roberto needs to bite the bullet and return to basics by getting the defense organised and solid. You can only pass/ build from the back if the foundations are solid.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 09:34:42
The main problem is that a defensive attitude is not part of his skill set, he can not coach players as he does not have the knowledge, that has been proved over the last two years, what he needs to do is to appoint a defensive specialist coach.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 01:58:28
5 points worse off than at this time last season. A season that was ultimately seen as rubbish with the blame pushed on to European football. This season we have our best centre forward since Gary Lineker and languish in the bottom half. Surely even the most blind Martinez supporter can see that we're going backwards. Once Rom leaves for a club with ambition we'll be challenging for 17th again.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

29 Dec 2015 07:56:05
Spot on.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 08:21:02
I have defended both D Moyes and R Martinez in my posts on this site, I must admit my frustration is becoming to much even for me to take, my heart tells me Roberto's philosophies are what I believe in and it is entertaining to watch and also that a few tweaks (Jags to return or a leader at the back, a replacement or Robles in goal) this young side could become something special and maybe we all need to be patient.
My head tells me we cannot be consistent playing so open and the inability to defend. We are fantastic going forward and are arguably the best team at creating chances in the league. We got back into the game when we pressed Stoke and attacked at every opportunity, once we went in front this stopped we sat off and invited Stoke to put pressure on us and we are not good enough defensively to do this at the moment. This is my criticism of Roberto either we should of kept the high tempo and go toe to toe with the opposition or bring on besic and to protect the lead with the right personnel. We can't play defensively with 5 (Lukaku, Kone, Naismith, Delefeuou and Barkley) attackers on pitch!
The question I keep on asking myself is, if David Moyes had this group of players would we be higher in the league? probably
Would we have beaten sunderland 6-2 or Villa 4-0 or had performances like first half against Norwich and Newcastle? probably not.
So even in this post I can't decide which is my preference is it best to be consistent and not as pleasing on the eye and know what you will get and maybe with better resources this time Moyes can take us to the next level.
Or are we a work in progress and once we find the balance or leadership in the team we will go on to achieve everything we hope for.
At the moment are best chance is a cup on our day we can beat anyone so fingers crossed for some silverware!
If you look at our team there is not to much anyone would change, personally I would play Robles, get Jags back asap alongside Stones to organize the defence. Mirrallas to replace Kone and attack teams for 90 mins. That is just my opinion it looks like Mirrallas will be going soon which is a shame because it would be a hell of an attacking fab four Delefuoe, Barkley, Mirrallas and Lukaku.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - good read that robbie..

29 Dec 2015 10:10:34
Yea good read Robbie. The team selection would not change a lot as you say. The changes you make I totally agree with.

Its just the coaching and management of the defence that needs changing big time.

I'd go with the Moyes option you mentioned. Would love to see him managing this current squad. I don't think there is many who would disagree that he would do a better job than Martinez.

A year or so ago no one would have Moyes back. With every passing game there are no doubt more who would welcome him back. I think he would work wonders with this team.

He would get the best out of them. Unlike at the moment we are underachieving.

Agree0 Disagree1

29 Dec 2015 11:56:35
I still wouldn't take Moyes back. We'd still get baffling tactics but any star quality would be managed out of them. He was just as stubborn but a defeatist against the 'big boys' too. That would mean we'd be trying to draw against Leicester and Palace if you look at the tables these days.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 01:46:44
I do understand that the chairmam is unwell, I do understand that we are in the midst of meaningful discussions in respect of a takeover, however, the team management is a complete shambles and cannot be allowed to drift any further.

Martinez must be relieved of his duties, and even allowing for Bill's ill health, there must surely be someone with the authority to act in the best interests of the club. This man is taking our club down the Wigan path, and unless our prem status is secure, no one is going to pay big money for a club that could be playing in the championship next season.
