If neville and hibbo are both out on sat I'd like to see coleman play rb,that's the position he was originally bought to play, how attacking would that be,him one side and baines the other both overlapping, allthough I think moyes might play heitinga like he did at pompey a couple of years ago.

Aye great idea when we could have had him for 6m about 3 months ago or whenever.

I reckon Jelavic will be play well until about November or so.

Then he'll drop off to scoring a goal evey 5 games like nearly every other striker the Bitters have had in the last decade have ended up doing. Seriously, you'll realise about March or thereabouts when they have a televised match Martin Tyler mentions that Jelavic has only scored twice in the league since Christmas.

Guys, some help please. I'm ordering a couple of shirts on-line but wondered how the sizes come up. EG, I was XL (Mens) in the umbro shirts but only a Large in LCS. Any thoughts? BlueTone

Go to your local sports shop and try on a Nike shirt should be the same size. BSM

Nike's my favourite sports brand mate, I've been wearing it for years. My Nike shirts are all large as was my last LCS jersey so I guess they're the same sizes. Failing that, if you can't get to either of the club shops pop into your local sports shop and try on a Brazil or Barça shirt, Nike use a generic size system so that would give you a definitive answer.

All these striker rumours have got me thinking. Did we not sign Magaye as a striker? But as with many players, he has joined and is put out on the wing. I'd like to see him given game time as a CF/ST to see what we have before signing more strikers because I rate him and think he could be better than what we are linked with... I'm not totally convinced by him on the wing.

Hi all 1st time on here thanks to the eds, it's a great daily read. Has anyone looked into Rafa van der Vaart an how much he's going for? Lately people are saying we need a CM and none will do a better job than him. What ya reckon?

Out of the question im afraid spurs looking for 14m for him.

Not sure Rafa v.d.vaart is the answer. Great player of course but we need back up for Gibson and Osman a little deeper in the park. Driving to my first match in a while tonight lads to watch the mighty blues. I was just wondering where the best place is to park. I used to park about 5mins walk from the ground but i here that is resident only parking now.

The main car park on Priory Road, it will cost £8.

I always use the college car park near the big roundabout. It's secure & pretty easy to get out from. Hope this helps.

This would be the perfect end to the transfer window in my opinion:

Yoan Gouffran - FC Bordeaux - £1.5/2 million

Johnny Russel - Dundee United - £1/1.5 million

Steven Defour - FC Porto - £7.5/8 million
or
Lewis Holtby - FC Schalke 04 - £7/8 million

Matthew Kennedy - Kilmarnock - £250,000/£300,000

Victor Anichebe - Not good enough with all the striking options we have at the moment, and wouldn't get a look in if we bought Gouffran and Russel as they can play there aswell.

Ross Barkley - A loan move could be very beneficial for him, because he's still very young, and he most likely won't be starting ahead of Felaini, Gibson, Osman and Holtby or Defour if we sign either of them.

Does anyone else think this would be good business?
Also, the values might not be totally correct. I got the values for Russel, Gouffran and Kennedy from rumours on here and the values for Holtby and Defour from the Transfermarkt website.

I'd happily settle for that. Recently, I'd have said not to loan Barkley out due to our depth-in-squad (22 senior players) - but if we do that - bring 3 or 4 more in - then we can afford to do that I think. However, I'd only loan Barkley out until January.

As for prices - they all look correct, possibly Holtby or Defour might be off but you'd have to ask Ed about that though.

Denial of what happens, in Moyes we trust.

How many times have you actually seen them players? Gouffran has scored 50 odd goals in 200 odd appearances, Russell is just a fast McFadden, Defour is just a Charlie Adam, big fish small pond and all that. Holtby won't leave Schalke for Everton because he supports us and Kennedy is not going to make it in the EPL. The perfect end to the transfer window would include one player and one player only... Landon Timothy Donovan...

How can you say Kennedy is not going to make it in the Prem? You say 'How many times have actually seen Gouffran' but more to the point, how many times, if any, have you seen Kennedy. He's 17 and broke into the Kilmarnock team last year, scores goals often for Scotland (not senior but that doesn't matter) and is a very good prospect - saying he isn't going to make it just says Moyes doesn't know what he's doing. Everyone deserves a chance before they start getting crap from people like you.

Sorry for saying that Ed, but people like that who say that to the OP and then say something exactly the same about how a 17 year old won't make it (when he has no evidence why) just really annoy me.

It has been a really exciting transfer window for Evertonians this summer,Moyes has had to beg and borrow the last few years but now we have a competitive first 11 and Moyes is still looking to add to our squad, If he can get the right players in before Friday night, I genuinely believe we will definitely be in Europe next season, what competition I do not know.

I got 20-1 for Everton to finish in top four and because of what has happened so far, got us at 100-1 each way for the title.
May sound completely daft but the difference between the so called top four and the next 4 or 5 has reduced considerably. More chance of those' top four ' dropping points to teams like Swansea and Liverpool now as well.

Hmmmmm... It's funny that, because the exact same post (and I mean word by word) was posted on this site last month. Sorry to get anyone's hopes down, but Lewis Holtby won't be signing for us this summer but it's very possible he could be joining us next year. In an interview with 'kicker' (my guess is it's a magazine) he said that he is very much looking forward to playing Champions League football with Shalke this season; saying, and I quote: "I will stay at Shalke for at least 1 more year." Then when he was questioned about the EPL he replied that it has always been his dream to play in the Premiership and a few clubs have been chasing his signature. That's all.

He's already said he wont be signing a contract so i doubt schalke are gonna just let him go for free

Kilmarnock manager Kenny Shiels has confirmed talks are taking place with Everton regarding a deal for teenage forward Matthew Kennedy.

Everton have reportedly made a £250,000 bid for Kennedy, who has impressed during the opening games of the SPL season.

Shiels says the 17-year-old's head has been 'pickled' by the prospect of moving to Goodison Park, but has suggested Kennedy would be better off staying at Kilmarnock.

"The boy's head has been pickled with talk of Everton," said Shiels in the Daily Record.

"There are negotiations taking place at the top end of each club.

"I have spoken to Matty's father and told him what I think is the best thing for his son's career. A young lad's career is the most important thing here, not finances."

Not a rumour this lads, met David Unsworth in Ormskirk today. Chatting to him, he thinks everyone at Everton is playing down how good they are, he was saying if we stay injury free and add a couple more players we'l comfortably get into top 4.
His only worry was us smashing it up the first half of the season and the "big sky 4" coming in for Fellaini and co in January.

Charlie Adam- world beater or carpet beater?- discuss- I don't care who they have played for in the past, as long as they sweat blood for the shirt when they play for us- some people have selective memories- remember a certain Kevin Sheedy, Alan Harper, and a Mr Peter Beardsly- can't stand the RS, never have , never will- BUT if Moyes thinks he can play a role in our season, and help us get as far up the league as we can; then I would welcome him with open arms and forgive for his past sins

I can't remember anyone wanting Gibbo, and would struggle to find anyone who would not want him now. DM has made so many shrewd deals that I would feel uncomfortable questioning any of his purchases .

My opinion is he is one of those players that burst onto the scene, got loads of hype, then never lived up to it. Always been a decent player, but never really reached the heights he was expected to. If Moyes can get him to achieve his potential, well then you have one hell of a striker.}
