12 points.if you are being optimistic then go all out. To be honest,I don't see why we can't win all 4. We seem to have new belief and determination to win. Spurs looks hardest game but they ain't a level above us.so I'm going to say 12 points.

Wonder if anybody could give me a bit of info on this, with a European league only a matter of time away will Everton be invited into it, how many divisions will it have, what will happen the champions league, and what will happen to the EPL if 6or7clubs leave would appreciate a bit of info on this if anybody knows anything thanks.

It remains very much a now issue with regular discussions on the matter between a dozen or more clubs.

Without going in to too much detail: (a) A number of clubs take the opportunity a once or twice a year to discuss various issues including changes in rules, television rights, the power of UEFA, exploitation issues for new technology streams, etc.. These discussions, the last of which were in late March in Monte Carlo, also always turn to the possibility and structure of a breakaway pan European league. Several are ex-G14 clubs, several are not, and some clubs decline involvement in such discussions. The next meeting will be toward the end of August. (b) The plan is that at some point a number of clubs would break away from their national leagues and UEFA. They accept that they would be banned from all existing club competition and the players would initially be banned from all FIFA competitions as well, but know that FIFA would be looking to negotiate in any case. It would be the end of UEFA in all probability and UEFA are very aware of this. It would also result in a restructuring of many of the national leagues. (c) The clubs would renegotiate their television rights, rights of distribution via other streams etc.. (d) It remains the greatest fear of UEFA and all major national authorities that one day this will happen. (e) Timing wise, two very prominent clubs want it to happen as soon as possible (2018) but most are looking at 2022 being a good option. Realistically, a few clubs are looking at 2025 to 2027 and I suspect that could end up as the reality.

There is every likelihood that the big money from television, sponsorship etc. would go with a breakaway league. It would completely rupture the operations of UEFA and I would expect it would require national associations like the FA to restructure their leagues. Nobody wants this but it is the eventual consequence I would expect. Initially it could be that there is a single 16 team league with 2 or 3 EPL teams making the initial plunge. If I had to speculate, I would think (1) you might eventually see something like five or six EPL teams leave for two-tier pan European league - but it won't be based on the UEFA rankings; (2) the Premier League would be disbanded as an organisation; (3) the FA would restructure in to two 20 team divisions with lower leagues regionalised as they were many years ago; (4) FIFA would ban all players from the breakaway teams from International football - perhaps rescinding that position to stop FIFA breaking up as well. I could also see many teams lose their professional status. I would think we are probably 10 years away from any significant move at this time.

I hold a reasonably strong view in terms of the need to restructure football in Europe in any case. For me an eventual a breakaway pan-European league would force the restructuring of many of the national leagues, possibly resulting in a British league with perhaps only a couple of professional tiers and then regionalised amateur leagues below that. Financially I do not see that so many pro sides can be sustained within the sport which, like it or not, will see more and more money going in to the highest levels of the game. Governments will ensure that grassroots sport get funding but everything in the middle (Southern, Northern, Conference, Division 2, Scottish Divisions 1-3, League of Wales will not get the funding needed to continue on any sort of professional basis.

To be honest, in the short-to-medium term if anything happens it will not involve any clubs from Liverpool.}

cant really see it happening myself it would just take too much money to get the league up and running and unless it was bankrolled also there is no guarantee that TV money would poor into the league I can understand sky wanting in but who would bid against them? if no one else went up against sky then they would get it on the cheap. I imagine a lot of in country TV channels would not bother as they would still have their national leagues to broadcast which currently get much more viewers than the current CL or EL. They have also got to think about the fans, you are basically looking a very small travelling fan base so would relay on home fan support. This is great if you can fill out your stadium every week but imagine the atmosphere. So your at the bottom of the league with no atmosphere in the ground no relegation IMO only the die hard fans would turn out. Now the question is how many of clubs likely to be in the breakaway could fill their grounds week in week out not many I suspect. Not saying it won't happen just not convinced it will

See Wigan have now dropped into the 3rd div, know he left 2 years ago, but for me, this is part of the state our "great leader" left that club in, and, if givern enought time, he will lead us down that same route. Yes it was great to beat unt 3-0, but that cannot be allowed to paper over the obvious cracks that this connman has tryed to pass off as bad luck or poor referying, he is a FRAUD, FULL STOP.

{Ed025's Note - i have this terrible tendency to look for the good in people JCW, and am confused about martinez now, was the europa a millstone around his neck?, or has he listened to the players and supporters and changed tactics that has resulted in this resurgence in form?...or is he in fact just the fraud and spin doctor we all feared he is who will lead us to oblivion?..

Ed :

I have the same questions going through my head ,

and as we are stuck with him indefinitely, only time will tell?

His challenges next season will be exclusively domestic so no excuses (Thursday night footy is a drain on us etc. )!

I too have been critical of RM this term, and do believe the EL has been a problem that so many other teams have found. It affect the preparations for league games having to play Thursday and Sunday. given the competitive nature of the PL over certain European leagues it makes it very difficult!
I suppose no European games next term should determine pretty quickly how far we have actually progressed under his tenure!

{Ed025's Note - or in fact if we have progressed at all wakka..

Hello eds.
I'm back, have been away in the States for the last 6 months, but have been keeping up to date with things. Glad to see that things have picked up these last months but shame it has taken so long for el gringo to change things up.
I have heard ed about rumours of a possible bid for Bolasie I do hope so he has been a scourge for us. I think buying him would be the best thing to do just look at Redknapp buying Wanchope.
I also ed would love to see Klopp at Everton. I know most would think it is a bridge too far. But Klopp likes clubs with a strong youth policy. One look at Finch Farm might convince him. I believe we have one the best youth strategies in Europe, up there with the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.
I am sure this season that there will be replacements for Distin (probably Browning), Barry (well we have replacement in Besic) that means bringing in someone else, also sign up Lennon, who I have always rated, was not utilised properly at the Spuds.
Also would like to see another striker to replace Kone. Who would replace him cheaply possibly Chicharito but that might be difficult. I don't think he would cost that much.
Also a few loan signings and some defenders to replace Jags and Bainsey who are getting on in years. WHAT DO YOU THINK EDS.
