Ed, apologies for posting two so close but would like to clarify I believe what the problem is with this Man City debate.
I, like many blues are disgusted with the performances against Palace and Saints after beating Arsenal and quiet frankly am raging tonight at Tim Howard's comments that to expect to see 'the real Everton' on Saturday.
Well I bet all the blues who spent a bloody fortune to travel down to Southampton to watch, 'Chuckle Brothers The Movie' will be delighted to see some of the players putting in a shift to hand the Pool the title!
If we were in for a chance of 4th fair enough but sorry this 'fall off' is not satisfactory.
Lad you are a decent Yank, yes you are a blue but you appear totally oblivious of our history and the culture of the City (and try coming off your line and catching a ball next season) Growl!
Off to bed!

{Ed025's Note - night mushy..

Agreed mate, I wasn't happy with his comments about Gollum's reception either.Someone needs to have a word in his ear.

QB,
As promised, a reply to your earlier post as to why you dislike Arsenal so much.

You mentioned the vast amounts of money we have and why we haven't won anything.

Due to our move to the Emirates (something we had to do to evolve as a club), we have pretty much been skint, even having to sell our best players to afford the mortgage.
It is now paid off, so Wenger can now afford to spend money. So, despite what you think, we have not had the money to spend, until now.

You said we don't deserve to be in the top 4, but Everton do
How do you work that out? we have only been out of the top 4 for 2 weeks in the whole of the season.
Everton have been in top 4 just once and that was only because Arsenal were playing in FA Cup Semi Final.

You had your chance to consolidate your lead over us but lost at home to Palace.
Don't get me wrong, I'm disappointed to finish only 4th, but despite your comments, we have the bottle to get into top 4 and stay there, something Everton obviously don't have. (I don't mean that disrespectfully, but i'm just replying to your comment that we don't deserve to be there).

You said Arsenal are terrible because we didn't have a single player in the PFA team of the year.
Does that mean Howerd is terrible, Distin, Jags, Barkley, Osman, Naismith, Lukaku and Barry?
They are not in the PFA team, so by your own words, they must be terrible too.

You said you dislike Arsenal because Jack Wilshere is a fairy?
Too lame a comment to argue mate.

You also said you dislike Arsenal because Wenger commented on your 'loanees'
Totally agree with you on that one mate. What Everton did was well within the FA guidelines and Wenger should keep his mouth shut about things that don't concern him.

You said we have turned Ozil into an average player.
Whilst I agree he had had a quiet season, he needs time to settle to the cut and thrust of the Prem.
Remember, he is famed for his assists, but when we lose players like Podolski (4 months), Walcott (4 months), Ramsey (4 months), Ozil has limited options in front of him.
Not an excuse, just a fact.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dag, never posted to you but why are you getting so upset?
I like Arsenal, now be a good boy and go back to your site

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i though you were going to bed mushy?. :)

Did my post give you nightmares Mushy?

Is that why you can't sleep?

Agree0 Disagree0

PS, Mushy its all good clean banter mate but please read the other post's before judging my reply.

Mine was merely a reply to something QB had wrote about Arsenal.

Now go bed and have sweet dreams about the Europa League.

(Sorry Ed), lol

Dags i'm not a gunners fan at all but for years they have had money to spend but wenger treats it like its his own.for the past 3 to 4 seasons I've heard. why don't wenger spend anything. he finally did and got the german lad for 40 summit mill.i think but may be wrong he did it because he knew the fans knew he had money but was abit tight in spending it.id love to have the wealth of your club but with our chairman, but unfortunately it isn't happening.anyway well played for 4th.lets battle again next season.and we'll try and have only 1 loan signing to keep whinger happy ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Dentie,

You are quite correct. Wenger has had money to spend for about 3 years now.
He does treat it like it's his own personal money, a fact that has infuriated Arsenal supporters.

He is now able to loosen the purse-strings a little, so we just hope he does.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Apr 2014 22:01:58
So we now know that if we beat City we guarantee 'Mickey Mouse' Euro Cup but if we lose and do the same away to Hull we go into next season with a real chance of competing at the top.
I blues never wanted RM but have supported him whatever this season. Please do not saddle him with Thursday night matches, the guy has done well. My number one concern is Everton FC and quiet frankly couldn't give a monkey's chuff about what the reds say. I have memories like other older blues how they prevented us from European glory. So after 45 years of supporting them I apologise to no one on this site in saying, C'mon City!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

United and Tottenham have to win all their games first lad, if Utd draw and Tottenham lose one it won't matter what we do. Personally, I want us in Europe. It's a step on the right road we need to be on

I was not expecting Newcastle to win tonight but least have a go at them there playing for nothing other than pride but they are clueless worst team in prem and I mean that even the teams that go down at least they go down fighting but this lot are rubbish and if they don't get there act together in the summer they will be going down next season, 4th is officially over now bar a miracle I'm praying for one

Believable0 Unbelievable0

7 losses off the trot.dont expect that even from a bottom club.utterly useless.they haven't even had a corner. I can see a struggle next season playing like that

To be fair to Newcastle I don't think they would have been too happy that you rolled over so easily against the Saints and robbed them of a chance of eighth.

But hey ho ;-)

{Ed025's Note - a bit unfair that jenny..

Ed025,

Seriously, I was just being a little bit cheeky, Newcastle should be ashamed of themselves. I would be gutted if the roles had been reversed with their pathetic capitulation.

I'd never be unfair to you ed, your my fave :-)

Hey ed, just in the immortal words of Marisa To me I (My cousin Vinny) the Reds will have to thank us, here are the words "WHAT A FLAMIING NIGHTMARE". I am also glad to see Robbie wants more additions. And from a previous post what about sending our youngsters abroad to European teams that would play them e.g. Turkish, Dutch or Belgian teams. Come on the barcodes.

What some posters don't understand and its likely you Evertonians are out of the Merseyside and North Wales areas, there is nothing more unbearable than a gloating reds in your face from morning til night. I've even been looking in the papers to see if there are any underground bunkers available to hire for a year. that's how bad it is in this area, imagine what its like for any Norwegian blues! even worse.

i know a bit overboard but this could happen

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - a BIT overboard murph, i give as good as i get mate, as corporal jones would say "they dont like it up em"..

Can everyone be quiet about us letting City win this week? You cannot honestly tell me that you'd rather lose then allow Pool win the title. I personally could give a donkeys about Liverpool and what they do. I can't believe I've see so many evertonians wanting us to throw the match. Its disgusting. Get a grip people. The main point it that we need the points to get top 4. 5th imo is unacceptable. Arsenal don't deserve 4th. WE DO!!

I hate Arsenal more than any other team. They are just soo terrible, but get so lucky. And all their players do is fall on the floor and complain after feeling a light breeze.

We do what Everton has done so well this year, which is play to win. COYB!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Love the optimism QB but we simply aren't going to get 4th at this stage. Arsenal WILL deserve 4th as they would've held their nerve again and we have proven, once again, that we don't have the gonads when it really matters. How you can say we DESERVE 4th after the capitulations against Palace and Southampton is ridiculous. It was in our hands, we blew it. C'mon City.

"Arsenal don't deserve 4th, we do".

"Arsenal are terrible".

"Arsenal are lucky".

Explain please mate.

Wow guys. wheres the fight gone? Fine, get behind City on Saturday.

Imma be where all Evertonians should be. BEHIND EVERTON COYB!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Apr 2014 18:05:21
i hate arsenal too, a lot but fourth is gone and i'd rather finish fifth and liverpool don't win the league than finish fifth and liverpool do win the league, you cannot tell me you're fine with them winning it, I hate them more than I hate anything else in my life, maybe you don't feel the same but i'd happily sacrifice one match which won't affect us just to stop them winning it

Agree0 Disagree0

If a team that spent 128 days at the top of the league doesn't deserve 4th, in what way do Everton?

And if we're so terrible, why are you below us in the table? And why are we in the FA Cup final instead of you?

An explanation would be grand.

Agree0 Disagree0

Finally someone with sense! I'd rather win. Where's all the optimism gone? We can still get 4th I'm not believing it until we're mathematically out of it. Remember that City won the league with 8 points behind 4th remember Utd were once 12 points behind Newcastle and won the league ( if I'm correct ) COYB COME ON EVERTON.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dagenham Gunner

If we had the spending capacity that Arsenal have, I guarantee we would be challenging in Europe by now.

Arsenal have been terrible this season. Your defense is abysmal, you've got one striker and still some how, you're up there above us hence lucky.

You've had your turn being in the top 4, move over we can do a better job I assure you. You've turned Ozil into an average player. He was a massive gimmick signing, just to appease the fans. Your tickets are extortion, and you've still won nothing with all the money you make. I prefer City, because atleast the money makes a difference, and they've won things.

Wenger's blind when it suits him. He "doesnt see it" when his players are in the wrong, but as soon as Everton loan in 3 players who are doing well, and in a team that beat him, he's straight on the offence with "they shouldn't be allowed to loan those players". Erm excuse us Arsene, its not like we can spend 45 million on a single player at a time.

Also, I hate hate hate Jack Wilshere. An absolute fairy of a player.

How many of your players made it into the PFA team of the year? Hence terrible.

Swan, i'm frustrated with all these Arsenal fans saying we've bottled it. I can handle Liverpool players winning the league. Without Suarez, they'd be just as bad as spurs, who I also hate. The only other PL team I can stand is. well actually none of them. I don't expect Newcastle to do us a favour, but even so, I also don't expect us to just give up.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - a lot of hates there QB, im sure you dont really mean hate, as that should be saved for people like hitler and thatcher imo, dislike i can live with mate, there is enough hatred in this world without relating it to football..i will let this post go as a reminder, but from now on all posts with the word HATE in them will be deleted, i know passions run high, and especially between the two merseyside clubs, but i feel that if we dont make a stance now, the site may deteriorate into a forum for people to be vile to each other, i hope you understand, and dont take it as a personal rant at you, with you being a regular poster i hoped i could use your post as an example without offence being taken..

Ed you are right, it was in the heat of the moment, and built around a lot of frustration. I apologise. It won't happen again. You're right, I just wasnt thinking. No excuse.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i knew you would understand mate..cheers..

QB,

Bless you, and agree with Ed025, don't be so hateful.

I respect you for replying and I promise I will reply, just going to watch Arsenal beat Barcodes so we can guarantee our annual 4th spot.

Will reply soon.

I'm sorry but I really do have a feeling Newcastle will get at least a draw tonight. I very rarely get these feelings and the outcome is often good. If Arsenal win I will of course eat my words.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

BB, I hope you are hungry mate lol

Agree0 Disagree0

To dagenham gunner. you club is starting to slip badly as much as it hurts me to say liverpool are now streets a head of you. man u will rebuild.and with roberto we a only going from strenth to strenth.if spurs pick the right manager who knows what they can do.arsenal with grandad winger in charge will be lucky to finish in the top 6 next year.if you look at this year you were going to win the league once you signed.david moyes love child ozil.and you end up fighting for the 4th spot. so I hope winger stays in charge

You have sang the praises of all the other teams, yet hardly mention Everton in your statement.

Obviously I would love us to finish fourth, but it is important to secure at least fifth place as they go into the EL Play Off Round, sixth go into third play off round, we will need to save our energy for later on.

I am disgusted that Rat Face got Player Of The Year, how can someone be honoured after he was banned for part of the season for sinking his fangs into a fellow player?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i take your last point jon, but to be fair he has been the best striker in the prem, he wont win any mr congeniality contests mate, but he can play footy..

Because it's based on footballing ability, which he is head and shoulders above everyone in the premiership, it isn't based on personality or what he done last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he is a very good player PR, a despicable human being, but a very good player mate.. :)

Ed saying he is a despicable (human being) is being very very nice to him because in my eyes someone who bites another person is not a human being because its not what civilized humans do it is something animals do an let's be honest here he would never win any sort of fair play award because he is a hungry cheat. This is how fickle Liverpool fans are there all raving about him winning this award do they forget that he was slagging the club off last year and really wanted to leave and came very close hr is a great player but a who low low person

Agree0 Disagree0

Shakey, after all humans are animals, we're forced to live in a society we're not meant to live in.

Ok should I of said civilized domesticated animals apart from the cannibal surez

Now that 4th looks to have gone I'm not bothered if we finish 5th or 6th just so long as the Reds don't win it. If Arsenal win tonight then even though it goes against the grain, I'll be happy to concede Saturday's game at home to City.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No davey, that is not our style and anyone who wants that needs to hand there tickets back, STH for 30yrs, it would be a waste oif money wanting efc to lose
Come on the Blues

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't surprise me Davey want's Everton to lose, I think he's a closest Liverpool fan, especially how much he's on our page, Davey imagine if you throw the game against City and Arsenal draw their last 2 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think we can rule out the one about davey PR.. :)

Wot u doing on r page plymouth.fell out with your arsenal pals now

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he is allowed to RTMM, its only a bit of banter mate, and so long as its not nasty or abusive..its fine mate..

I actually never post on the Arsenal page, nor do I partake in much banter, I just find it sad that some of you guy's wish failure upon your club in order to see us fail.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - a lot of it is just friendly banter mate..cue the theme from "neighbours".. :)

We're not wishing failure. It's either more than likely finish 5th and beat man city or more than likely finish 5th and lose to city. I actually think we will get something from the game and hope we do but will be cheering like mad for palace on Monday night.

Agree0 Disagree0

Plymouth talking about visiting other pages. what's all this about you on the Utd page these last 2 days giving it loads?
My point is simply that even if we finish 6th as opposed to 5th (assuming that after tonight 4th will be an impossible task) a Euro place would still be there and the Kopites would spend another season pot less with the League title supposedly in their grasp. Them winning it doesn't bear thinking about so yeah. come on City.

Agree0 Disagree0

You know the saying Davey, kick em whiel they're down, plus am just returning the favor to Disney, Red nobster and the rest of the poor buggers.

Irony. 6 weeks ago myself and 2 of my Liverpool workmates were on the turps and we were talking crap. Anyway I bet them both $100 bucks each that Everton will beat Man City at home. Today I rolled into work and both wanted to cancel the bet, but I said I would be glad to give you guys $100 bucks each if you lose the title. Just a bit of irony. Let's hope Crystal Palace turn them over and we beat Man City. It will be a win/win.

Cheers from Australia.

was in pub watching everton game on saturday.you should of heard all the rs cheering when alcaraz scored that own goal.so ile go for him scoreing another og against city in 90 min, just to see them same rs fans cheering another own goal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Too right. Have seen them trying to cosy up to us like they have been to Arsenal all season?
Comments like "We hope you get 4th. It would be great to have two teams from Merseyside in the CL" and "Hope Everton do us a favour on Saturday. We'd do the same for them".
What a load of tosh. We must now do everything to prevent them winning the title and that starts by dropping players against Man City. We know that Gareth Barry cannot play and what with the injury situation re Distin, Mirallas, Jags, Gibbo, Kone, Oviedo; let's play some kids - McAleny, Garbutt, etc and if we lose? We have rested players for the final game at Hull. With one eye on the FA Cup, they won't be committing themselves to 50/50 tackles and we should claim 3 points and. European place. And LFC? Hopefully licking their wounds and sobbing at what might have been.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i still want us t beat city davey, i have never gone to a match hoping for us to lose, i get you drift about them winning the league mate, and it will be hell for us in the city, but in the end for me it is about everton..

Morning all.

Now that the dust has settled from the weekend I just hope we have enough left in the tank for two more big games.
Forget about the gooners 4th is out of our hands and I for one want us to finish the season on a high so.hopefully it carries over into next season.

Don't get me wrong I am preying for sides to do us a favour but at present i'm more concerned about losing our last two.

No doubt about it Roberto has done wonders and long may it continue.
He has truly set a bench mark now, but no doubt he rises to the challenge with backing from the board.

I just hope that we are not slating him (god forbid) that things don't go so well.

The squad looks settled and perhaps other than Lukaku will be the same next year with hopefully additional quality players. The balance has to be right. There is no I in team and our team ethos has been clear to see. We have bought in to Roberto, hopefully he has silenced his doubters.

The building blocks are in place and fingers x with a new stadium planned things are looking a lot brighter than they have done for quite some time.

As reported in the media, so take it as you will:
'Everton boss Roberto Martinez admits he will have to strengthen his squad if they are to challenge in Europe and in the Premier League next season.
Martinez's men are on the brink of European qualification, though it remains to be seen if they will be playing in the Champions League or Europa League next season.
The manager accepts that with several key men set to leave - Romelu Lukaku, Gerard Deulofeu, Gareth Barry and Lacina Traore were all loaned to Goodison Park this season - he intends to have a busy summer.
"It's not about improving - it's about increasing, " Martinez said. "When you're playing in Europe you need to have another six or seven and that's the reality and we will do that - it's not an issue.
Every summer is busy. We signed 10 players in the previous two windows and that's what you expect from window to window. I never worry about losing players. It's the opposite - I get excited about bringing new players in. You need fresh blood. We've got incredible senior players at this club. You've got Tim Howard, Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines, Leon Osman, James McCarthy - those players hold the dressing room together. But we need fresh talent. Fresh additions help the team."'
