Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

Everton did not play anywhere near their best today only putting a bit of form together late on but that was enough to get a draw against a side that looked average at best. Rodgers and stevie trying to justify all the millions spent in the last 2 seasons is a joke. Liverpool could put out a whole team of Rodgers transfer failures but they would struggle in the liverpool sunday league and that's no disrespect to the liverpool sunday league (some good players there). Some good posatives today Besic and Browning look ready to step up and Stones and Jags looked solid, I, d say onwards and upwards from here on.

Yes we were not as classy as we were for long periods last season but just think how we would be feeling today and most likely all week if they had beaten us. I really believe this could be a turning point. We can get all 3 points at Man U next week especially as Evertonian Rooney decided today was a good day to get sent off to give us a little extra boost. I've watched Lukaku very closely and agree his first touch has been very poor all season but can't agree that was the case today, I actually saw him hold it up far better today and I think Eto'o's influence is rubbing off. Chin up all blues, there's a long way to go

And thank you Bass that is the spirit mate we all need a lift at the moment fair play mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Getting points despite having a bad day is always a good result, chin up everyone remember what happened last time we went to anfield

Better result than last season but they are rubbish. We can improve, and must but don't think they will. We could win our next six league games if we get at it, shame that the Europa will derail us further.

Here are my player ratings:

Howard 6.5, was at fault for the goal, most keepers would have saved that slow poorly place FK, however some goof saves and positioned himself well.

Hibbert 4.5, torn apart and looks so cumbersome, not good enough anymore, luckily didn't cost us any goals!

Jags 7, Epic goal! Played well today actually, positioning was good and partnered stones well.

Stones 8, what a game for him, sure he wasn't perfect bit imo played really well and for his age was amazing in a game of such high calliber.

Baines 7, had some good attacks and almost found us a winning assist at the end, however he did give away the free kick and wasn't amazing defensively.

Besic 7, didn't get on the ball as much as I would have liked but he did seem confident on the ball when he did recieve it and linked up with Baines well early on.

Barry 6, Lost the ball a lot! Wasn't at his game today, been disappointed with him so far this season.

McCarthy 6.5, Slightly better then Barry didn't lose it as much but didn't break up the play enough or start many attacks, needs to take games by the horns.

Lukaku 5, Awful. Lost the ball so much, doesn't look creative whatsoever, passing and touch were atrocious. A few good runs and stregnth keep him from dropping to Hibbert level this game.

Naismith 6.5, Didn't get the ball often at all but was energetic as ever.

Mirallas 6.5, Played well when he was on and could have been imense if he had played the full match, we will miss him hope he is back soon!

McGeady 5, Lost the ball, tries skills that never work and delivery is poor at best, don't rate him.

Browning 7, Played well when he came on and again is yet another young talent, wish he had played the full match looks 10X the player Hibbert is, impressed.

Eto'o 6, didn't get much time or the ball often but looks quick and a threat so didn't want to be to harsh.

Thoughts guys? What would you change?

Some right miserable buggers on this site. Team know there not playing well but never gave up, and it took a CB - who under Moyes I might add would never have been that far up the pitch - to score a cracker. The same SB you all said should be dropped. So stop bloody moaning and support the team, and who knows we might just get better.

Woburn these are the forums to be negative won't stop me going the match but if were relying on 35 yard strikes this season we will come up short in the end

Hibbo didn't close down his winger enough for me - stood well off until the player received the ball

Barry struggled a bit - however, I haven't seen the replay but surely he was fouled before Liverpool's goal - he was tripped form behind and it was not a free kick to them anyway and ballotelli just dived for the foul

But how come we've got a quite a few players who can't seem to pass a ball properly - some of our basic ball skills were very poor today
But we tried to keep it tight and that's one less derby that Gerrard will play in as he gets older and jag's goal will live in the memory for a long time so well done lads
Lets just pick it up a bit on the ball skills and, against lesser opposition in coming games can we try to move the ball forwards with a bit more speed - we're way to slow going forwards in possession which let's defensive minded teams get all, their players back and park the bus

Not a bad result when you consider their goal came out of direct cheating by that red pr**k with a squashed crunchy on his head.
He did more leaping and wriggling in the air than a harpooned tuna.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought the same Mushy. Balotelli not only looked ridiculous but was throwing himself to the ground all afternoon looking for free kicks and penalties. Not unlike someone else we all remember. He of the triple salkos with full back twists who had a certain 'hunger' for the theatrics in the penalty box!

C'mon Folks. The Nattering Nabobs of Negativity are in full force today.

1. An Everton Club in a slump visits the Devil's Den at Anfield.
2. The Reds have a greater overall talent and depth, and good players they paid great sums for that will get better as the season progresses.
3. Coleman out, Distan out (and likely past the prime), SuperKev goes out.
4. At home, Brenda wants to make a statement and is aggressive from the opening. We are denied a Lukaku PK. They run the tempo.
5. RM knows this, and we play a generally good defensive game. Stones is one heck of a cornerstone (could say a rock but that might be a bit over the top).
6. We didn't give up, and Phil blasts a career goal. 1-1 at Anfield in a slump. A great day.
7. Hibbert I thought was solid but not spectacular. Barry was a 1/2 step slow, Besic will be fine. Eto'o is up, and Atsu is on deck. Get Lukaku back to the middle so he can post up like a basketball center.
8. Glad the Capital Cup is gone, just another game on top of Europa, FA Cup, and Premier League to worry about for little gain.

I think this can turn the season around. Last year, better team. 0-4 at Anfield.

Just my opinion, but Gaz Baz is a liability. He was mega lucky not to get sent off today & gave the ball away far too often. Maybe it's time to give Gibson a run in the side. Disappointed with Rom, again! Good performance from young Browning & what a goal from Jags!
Would have taken that score before kick-off.

Be serious lakuku played out of position he's not a winger and played well when got the ball. Try supporting and encouraging the performance

I thought Jags and Stones did well. I thought Hibbert was solid but not spectacular. I would like to see Lukaku play a little more like Big Vic did at times, posting up and backing up in the center. Eto'o, Browning, Garbutt, Oveido, Kone, Atsu. the help is there. More Besic, less Barry, and Barkley back soon.

COYB. things are turning around

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree. Perhaps we should take a page out of the playbook other teams have used to beat us. Play defense and counterattack more. Especially if Stones and Jags is the new CB pair and Besic can play some good defense.

What good is 75% possession plus and still losing.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm trying to say things as I see them, Crewe. I'm not being negative, just commenting on our performance as a whole. The thing that disappointed me about Rom's performance was his reluctance to close their players down & stop them building from the back. There were lots of good performances, I just try to keep my posts short. Tim was great, Stones a top prospect, Jimmy Mac a dynamo, Naisy 100% effort again. I'm way happier than I was against Swansea.

Agree0 Disagree0

Listen RM put lukaku on Moreno because he's small and despite the 8 million passes round the back most of the forward play was directed towards him, tim was better today but there freekick wasn't that good that he let in, every fan gets behind there team but if your poor your poor no point sugar coating it

Does anyone like the revamped official club website (evertonfc.com)?
I think it's absolute rubbish compared to the previous version. Impossible to navigate around the live match details and get team news.
IMHO it's another debacle like last years's badge fiasco.

Took a worldy to save a point against an average team, some of our player is strange at times and why were not more positive is strange to say the least they crumble under pressure yet we stick to this side to side stuff until someone loses it in the middle

1-0 down and we swap right backs, so browning is ready for a merseyside derby at anfield but not against Swansea in the 'Mickey mouse cup', well done martinez, I think he's actually lost it

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree swan hibbert didn't wanna tackle or track the run, the whole things bizarre at times

First half we have been poor, no urgency no fluidity poor balls poor touches, lucky not to concede.
Hibbert backs off too much, stones quality tho.

I'd take a scrappy goal

Had the weirdest dream last night that the blues beat the reds 12-14.
Think it relates to the Ryder cup but with two dodgy defences in Derby, not sure!
