Ed. Noticed lower down that you stayed the club cannot get loans for new stadium.

Could they not use the new stadium as collateral for the loans required to build it?

I am no accountant and therefore don't care but as long as the club can cover any debt then just hope this stadium comes to fruition.

{Ed002's Note - No Geoff, they have no credit.}

Thanks ed. A lot more positive over this with Mr moshiri in charge. He seems determined to make Everton more successful on and off the field.

Also.
Dont get me wrong. It's great the council are helping us out but seems to only be because mayor Anderson wants the commonwealth games and our stadium will provide the centrepiece of the bid.
I wonder how co-operative they would be if they didn't want the games in our city.

The legacy will be the revival of North Liverpool docklands. Merseyside is increasing population fast and the city is tiny for the amount of visitors to it. We need expansion and this will speed up that process.

Also peel want to invest but at a more leisurely pace. This gives them an excuse to quicken up some of their development for the area and to test the water on whether it is worth 5 bil in investment.

I've never seen so many get well wishes for a player in all my time in football, and no-one to say a bad word about Coleman, it says a lot about his character and what type of person he is, I'm friends with a bloke in the Irish fa and he says he is an Everton man true and true. and to top it all of one of the best rb in the league.

Hope Ronnie Moran gets a good applause as no doubt he will from the Everton fans, be great if the Everonians gave a chorus of only one Seamous Coleman on the 23rd minute to let him know the fans are right behind him, much as the rivalry, Ihave no doubt some reds will applaud as well.

Hi Baz mate, red here in peace . We will definitely applaud Seamus Coleman . We sympathise with him and respect that he was in injured while defending his country very much like a soldier. Hope he makes a full recovery and he is back to his best inthe future. n.

Trust me Billy. Even if we did he would still talk about moving to another club. His agent was even saying that if he signs it doesn't mean he will be staying.

If and it's a big if he does stay next season great but personally I think he's gone regardless of him signing a new contract.

Reading all the available info about the bramley Moore project, I can't gather whether Everton will ever actually own the stadium, it all seems so vague, it's mentioning leases, and rents? are we going to be tenants? any light you can shed on this Eds?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware if the finances have been totally bottomed out at this time but Everton are not in a poistion and cannot raise the funding to build the stadium so there will be loans taken out (two or three as I undertsand it) by the Council. The plan is that Everton shall pay sufficient funds to the Council each year (to service the loans) in the form of rent.}

27 Mar 2017 19:06:48
I read something similar to Ed. Loans will be taken out to cover the cost but I heard that the council are acting in a guarantor capacity rather than actually taking the loans out. Not sure it makes much difference who actually takes the loan out personally, I think the importance will be in the relationship between Everton and the council and of course the repayment terms of the loan itself. I can't see moshiri putting us in a position where we can't afford our repayments though.

{Ed002's Note - It makes an enormous difference. Everton do not have any credit available to them - or far from enough to obtain the loans necessary to build the new stadium. This is a very significant favour that Everton need from the Council in order if they want a new stadium for the club as the club cannot get the loans themselves.}

It's very well explained in the Echo. The LCC have a much better credit rating than EFC and therefore have borrowed the money the we couldn't or at least couldn't have gotten as good a deal from the lenders. A business then has been set up to take care of ensuring that we keep up payments with various security measures in place to protect the LCC interest. The LCC have certainly aided EFC and must be recognised for their effort to make the whole project get off the ground. We failed to generate 30millon for the kingsdock project, yet this time we are on course to deliver a stadium that is 10 times more in cost to us. So the LCC have played a major role in helping us to get this one off the ground.

To be fair there are examples in the premier league where clubs have benefited from stadiums built for different purposes e. g. Man City and West Ham. We will need help too and whilst different in circumstances it appears we will be cap in hand too.

Hi Ed, noticed on the rumours page you said the scouting system at the club has changed a lot.

Can you tell us how? Not that it's important, just curious.

{Ed002's Note - Steve Walsh has arrived and has been joined by Laurence Stewart an new chief scout Martyn Glover - but still of course they get trashed by the Everton fans. I find that stuff a great embarrassment to read sadly Hugo.}

Fortunately Ed that post referring to our inability to scout a decent forward whilst misinformed doesn't reflect the views of many who post on here. I am particularly excited by the business we have done post Steve Walsh and co'.

I have to say the moaners are in a very small minority now. I was one last season. with good reason I believe. But as soon as Mr Walsh arrived my view completely changed. I knew of his history only from the media but it was obvious that he worked in the same was as Clough and Peter Taylor did at Forest. In building the team that won the European Cup twice. Taylor would scout the players and leave all the coaching and management matters to Clough. I could see a similar approach at Leicester and hoped that he would work with Koeman in a similar fashion. That indeed seems to be what is happening and so far very successfully. Gana, Calvert-Lewin and Lookman are all quality in my eyes. I hope for many more of this quality to come in and Koeman can work his magic in turning them into a unit. I expect us to sign a young central defender, a young center forward and another creative midfielder. Probably from lower leagues or ones not needed at another club. Danny Drinkwater and Marc Albrighton at Leicester were not exactly setting the world alight throughout their careers but in the unit of Leicester City with the flair of Marez make an exceptional unit. let's see who we sign and how Koeman sets up a midfield to challenge the rest. Gana is the start of that I believe.

Spot on Toffee Ace I would go as far as to say the majority of fans are made up with the progress so far since the take over. Unfortunately the few that are not tend to be the ones that make most noise.

More importantly it seems Lukaku is not happy with our buying policy. Although, I believe he will find any excuse to get his move away from the club.
