Most people on here sound confident about sunday but not to sound like mike im a bit worried.people say liverpool arent a great team and i agree there not the team they where but what ive seen they look quite good they just lack a goalscocer.i believe a few weeks ago we could have destroyed them but now i think without gibson we will struggle and they have a pretty descent midfield and they could run the game from there.plus as well our defence hasnt looked as strong without gibbo.sorry to put a downer on it hopefully im wrong.your thoughts please

Reina
Wisdom...skrtel...Agger...Johnson
..........Allen......gerrard
................sahin
Suso......Suarez......sterling

They also have assasidi downing Henderson shelvey Enrique..... On the bench.
I look at that starting 11 and all bar Allen suso sterling and wisdom would be regarded as world class. In addition those 4 are young and will probably be world class. If they had a finisher I think they would be right up there with the best in the epl.

Johnny.

Agree0 Disagree0

I suspect you're a kopite and your definition of world class is a world apart from mine. None of the above are world class, with the exception of Agger maybe. Just maybe.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance ther world class. Xavi is world class, messi is world class, zidane was world class mate u can't put Gerard in the same boat as them, for a start he doesn't like to have the ball in tight situations and he gives the ball away all the time. In the euros in the summer, all the critics said that we didn't use possession well enough and we can't keep the ball like other teams but Gerard was great?. If ther is anywhere on the pitch we should be keeping hold of the ball is centre mid he is garbage. Soz for the rant there, but there's a difference between average/good players and really top ones such as ur snjieder's, ronaldo's and scholes

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of them only Suarez is world class although he is a diving cheat. Gerrard used to be world class and annoyingly seems to be every derby match but in general I would say he is not anymore. Reina skrtel agger and Sahin I would say are just very good players, NOT world class and glen Johnson World class he is definatly not!
BlueClarkey {Ed025's Note - i agree with most of that clarkey..

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't say all them players you mentioned are WORLD class!! and that's not me being bias either. Gerrard WAS once world class and Suarez is world class defo so too is Agger, the rest are good international players and then you have the young lads who have good potential.
Same as us really but we probably have less world class players I think Fellaini is world class and could play in any team the rest of our team are quality international players that's it.
World class players are the likes of Ronaldo, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta etc etc Liverpool and Everton have none of these types

Agree0 Disagree0

Further to my post above where I stated Agger maybe the only world class player. I stand by that. I don't think Suarez can be regarded as world class yet as he seems to miss a lot of chances. If he could add more goals to his game he should be getting then I think he could be considered world class. Gerrard was once a genuine world class player but I don't see it anymore, except when he plays against us. Fellaini, definitely world class, and Baines. The rest- good, solid, international pro's. Nothing more, nothing less

Assuming Darron Gibson is not available imo team should be:

Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Distan Baines
Mirallas Fellaini Osman Oviedo
Naismith
Jelavic

With Mirallas and Naismith interchanging and Hitzlperger replacing Osman if necessary.
It is vital Tony plays to deal with Sterling.
Fancy Smith

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Don't think he will even consider playing Oviedo from the start. I think Moyers will go for Neville's on the pitch leadership and so I expect the team to be as folloes;

Howard
Hibbert Jagielka Distin Baines
Coleman Osman Neville Mirallas
Fellaini
Jelavic

I think Liverpool will look to dominate possession in midfield with Gerrard, Shelvey and Allen and I think the key to the game is who wins that area - the place we were are currently weakest. Moyes could, of course, play Felli in midfield instead of Neville and bring in Naismith further forward, but I doubt if he will do that from the start.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our potential problem is in the middle of the park and so we cant play osman & neville together. i would play felli and osman.
i hope moyes plays 2 up front as well.
this is one of the worst RS teams i have seen for years and we have got to get all over them.Moyes owes us a result as well after his shocking record last season against the shi*e. i was embarrassed by him after the debacle and his negativity at wembley. He owes us big time.

If the Hitzy's fit, I'd stick him in the Gibbo role, that's his position after all..

After the recent revelations regarding the JFT96 can we have the friendly derby back , and be united side by side as brothers, sons, daughters, mums and dads, who all support there own team be it red be it blue, sing the songs that makes the hairs on the back of you neck stand up, not the horrid chants that makes you recoil in your seat thinking why do we bother anymore.
am a blue sons blue, wife a red daughter a red, family red
lets stand together {Ed025's Note - i echo that mate...its great when we see reds and blues walking to the game together, we were once the envy of the football world, as it was always very friendly and civil, lets hope this comes back, a bit of friendly banter is great but some take it too far, im not saying lets be all lovey dovey...just to show respect to your neighbour.. even if they are delusional reds ;)..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Cracking post that mate, well thought out and well put together. It would be nice to have a game where the result reflects the football and not the cheats or bad refereeing. My thoughts, for what they're worth, is that there's a single coming out soon to raise money the Hillsborough campaign, it would be nice to show some unity for a change to help promote it on a world wide lever. When it all comes down to it, as Hillsborough showed, its a game of football and deep down we're all the same. I'll still have an intense dislike for anything red come Sunday, but let's not lose sight of the bigger picture here.

I posted sometime about about a, right back, prospect called Sebastien Corchia. I trust in Moyes just as Moyes trusts in Coleman so I'm not to disappointing that he is linked with a variety of prem clubs. West Ham most notably.

Anyone know if previous transfer target, Niang, ever features for Milan & how he's getting on. I know he's not our player but Moyes must av really liked him so worth keeping an eye on.

Isco, I repeat Isco should be top of our transfer list for me. He's incredible. If they want to sell and we can afford we should buy, buy, buy and get Vadis (also been looking good) on loan to buy with donavan loan to buy 2.

We've got goals coming from everywhere so i'd prefer to see if holtby runs down his contract. If he does we might save 4-6mil n if he doesent we'll be fine too.

So what's the predicted line up for Sunday lads?? Can't even think what he will be, obviously Pienaar is out. Iv'e heard Fellaini is fit, then Iv'e heard he is 50/50, Iv'e heard there is a chance Gibson could make it, then the next day I heard he has no chance, the only one that's concrete is Hibbert, he played in a reserve game the other night so should be available. I'm glad because although I like Coleman at right back, mainly for his pace and his attacking, his positional play at the back is poor and he doesn't win many "battles" with wingers, so even though it will be a risk I would hope Moyes throw's Hibbert straight in at right back even if he's not fit, he is a blue and it's the derby his adrenaline will see him through, and he is a solid right back, rarely see him get done by a winger.
IF Fellaini and Gibson are fit I would expect Fellaini to start but doubt Gibson would start as he has been out for a while and is so important to us it wouldn't be worth risking him IMO. So that means even though we all wince at the thought of Neville trudging around midfield not doing much, he will probably keep his place there.
Going of that here's a team I would like to see;

Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Distin Baines

Naismith Neville Osman Mirallas

Fellaini
Jelavic

It's a bit weak in the middle and has been for a few games with Neville and Osman, when Osman plays in there with Gibson he has more freedom to get forward, if it's not working like that we could always swap and change (Fellaini going in the middle, Osman supporting Jelavic, Osman on the wing, Fellaini in the middle, Naismith or Mirallas supporting Jelavic)

Either way I just hope we win the deluded planks

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Would like to see Ossie on the left good footballer and has the brains to release Baines.closest to peanuts we have

ANDRE MARRINER the ref for derby on sat his average this season in prem is two yellows per game and no reds and he was the ref for liv v man city tough tackling game and he was the ref when we went to war with united and beat them .and fergie was on his back . tp..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Hibbo in at right back, coleman on the right wing providing defensive cover and attacking option, kevin on the left. fellaini is fit i bet but they won't say nothing til the last minute. Any chance that Der Hammer might start? 5 weeks effective pre season under his belt, 3 90 minutes in 2 weeks, on the bench last week, class centre mid....

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree Hitzlperger should start to feature but imo Coleman is a liability.

as far as i am concerned i would rather heitinga in the midfield than neville but i can't see moyes dropping him, especially for the derby game. now i like neville but the osman-neville partnership is rubbish and it takes so much time to get the ball forward through the middle of the park. however bad neville was on sunday, don't forget that other than jagielka really, know one played well. jelavic lacked service and when he got the ball was poor, baines rarely got forward in the first half, osman was terrible, howard still scares the life out of me when the ball is passed back or crossed into the box. i am not having ago at the team i merely pointing out that although i believe neville is not good enough for our team, let alone our midfield, he was not the only poor one against qpr. it seems we weither have 7 or 8 players performing well or 7 or 8 ad (it never seems to be one or 2). also moyes starting pienaar behind jelavic clearly didn't work and in my opinion it took him to long to swap mirillas and peinaar. here's hoping the qpr games was a few of the players bad performances out of the way for this sunday. lets remember however bad we were against qpr we still got a draw, should have had a pen and jags could have got 2. i think 2-1 blues this weekend. lets get behind the team no matter what. Anyone else see Vadis Odjidja against the Skunks? I thought he showed glimpses of his undoubted quality and would be a valuable addition to our squad in my opinion. He has a great engine and is exactly what we need in CM
