Sorry all - I don’t get this anti-Liverpool sentiment.

No matter what comment is made about the defeat to Real Madrid, they still got to the champions league final and finished well above us in the league.

Fair play to them for achieving what they have but my focus will be on the blue side of the Mersey.

It makes the ‘bitter-blue’ tag stick and we look foolish.

Are you kidding me. I work with 4 Liverpool supporters and the amount of stick I cop from them is incredible. All week I have heard dribble about them. This is glorious. It's called schadenfreude.

Sort of agree with he op, but like Aussie toffee said they were unbearable, if we ever make it to a final then I will look back on this and remind myself to keep quiet till the final whistle and don’t make a stupid banner 😀.

I am 61 and most Evertonians I know have always been gracious to Liverpool FC fans with maybe a little bit of ribbing with close friends. However, whenever I have had a Blue shirt on, I have at times had some total stranger Red come up to me with abuse, rudeness and behaviour that would make you think I was an inferior species! I even had one come swearing at me in a pub in Gloucestershire when I had my young children with me. Obnoxious! So I say yes get some mirth in now. after many years of being on the recieving end. but do it in good humour!

You reap what you sow in my opinion. I've kept a dignified silence myself so far but, if blues or even mancs decide to take the proverbial then so be it. The majority of reds that I encounter are obnoxious, self-entitled and dismissive of any other club. This season just gone, every goal we have conceded has been met with a text message from two of my red 'mates', every defeat the same. That was a lot of messages considering the season we had!
When I send them a meme or joke that rips their club, I'm told I'm jealous and bitter! If you dish it out then you have to take it on the chin when people are ribbing you but these clowns can't handle that.
The amount of posts on social media from reds that mentioned both us and MU that I've seen have been hilarious. Name checking two clubs in their defeat rather than congratulating themselves on getting to the final of the champs league. They think we are all obsessed with them but, in reality, they are obsessed with thinking we are obsessed with them.
Put the shoe on the other foot, if we got to a final and lost then they would be loving it, especially them two 'mates' of mine!
I genuinely feel for those who are true fans, those that can see the bigger picture. The red fans who talk sense when chatting football, believe it or not there are a few still out there. That said, I'm happy that those gobsh*tes who would crow for the next 10 years haven't got the result they wanted or expected. If that makes me bitter then so be it.

So I’d be lambasted to suggest we could rise above it.?

I agree that there are Liverpool supporters as above and they are tools but doesn’t that make some of us as bad for doing the same? Two wrongs etc.

Like Ed stated elsewhere, I also had friends and family who paid a fair bit to head out to Keiv and I won’t be one to join in the slating.

I’ve no problem with a bit of banter when we are involved but otherwise I don’t feel it concerns me. If I’m in the minority, then that’s something I’m happy to accept.

So they lost 3-1. Watched the game the whole way through. My only criticism, how much did you (Liverpool) pay for a CB and more importantly WTF do all of these clubs see in Henderson, because for me the bloke is not even lower Championship level.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

26 May 2018 23:22:20
Totally agree with Henderson. He's so overrated and is hardly an inspirational character.

I think everyone in football has been saying for three years they need a GK and it's cost them big time tonight.

watching the champions league final in 4k, up your jumper and all that crap. Have to say (and this as an Evertonian) this game is refereed by a guy that barely featured in the group stages and for me so far he and his officials are as far from neutral as neutral can be. If there is a doubt or even a sniff the decision goes to Madrid.

Not targetted but Madrid getting rid of Salah in the first minutes gave themselves a huge chance, and in the process Liverpool a much greater task.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2018 00:02:34
Its amazing how many lifelong supporters they have with the sniff of a final, did you know Maureen from number 68 with the flags out the window was always a diehard supporter who has never been to Anfield or even been on the bus through Anfield. Come half 9 mate the songs will die, the flags will come in and Maureen will go back to being the woman who doesn't know the offside rule and has never watched a game in her life. This my friend is what the singing flag waving gobsh%tes are.

Have you forgoten that these hooligans prevented our best ever side from haveing a crack at the european cup? The media seem to totally and conveniently papered over that in their liverpool love in, they lose their one trick pony, and then are exposed for the jorneymen they really are.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2018 00:04:24
I'm with Blueboys1979, why would I want a rival to be successful? I am an Evertonian and only want to see Everton success and to wish a rival success is just something I cannot do, and to see a player of Jordan Henderson's calibre lifting a European Cup would just not be right, instead it's going to be a World Cup winning successful talented player in Sergio Ramos.

26 May 2018 16:02:24
I don't know why people are getting stressed about manager. It will be Silva so if it's today or next week it's not a problem.
EFC will be working on the team now and I'm sure Silva is part of that. Transfer targets will be identified and I'm sure players that are no longer wanted will be getting informed.
I think we will see quite a few go in the next few weeks.

We complain when we sign to many too quick and complain when we are too slow.

Just relax. Manager can't train players who are on summer hols - I think we will sign quality over quantity. Maybe 2-3 in and 10 out - then maybe 1-2 in Jan.

I'm praying fixture list is kind - if we are around 4-6th in league come Jan we will get better playets.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

26 May 2018 17:37:39
10 out? You think we should reduce the squad by 8 players? Who should go then?

Think we 4 to 5 ins. Cb, Lb, St, Cm and possibly back up Gk.

I am getting more stressed by the hour the closer it gets to kick off tonight, living on Merseyside has been pure helll This last couple of Days.

I can quite happily wait until next week for our new manager announcement.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 May 2018 18:55:20
Said it before - but 10 out - Browning, Galloway, garbutt, Robles, jmac, besic, Rooney, Williams, klasson, Sandro - somehow I’ve forgotten left back who played most of season but him also. Unless you think any of them staying will get us into top 5 but I don’t. That would leave us needing a left back centre back striker and centre mid.
Add to that I’d get rid of bollasi

I’d like zaha aarnold Vardy Gibson or McGuire.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Martina.}

26 May 2018 20:35:51
Besic has been the excellent player the majority of us all thought he could be given an injury free run. He and Lookman are the major two that should (in fact will) be brought back within the 23 Squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2018 21:51:42
I'd keep JMac over Schniederlin all day and I would give Klaassen and Sandro until January to try and prove they belong here.

26 May 2018 10:01:12
Whoever comes in to the hot seat be it Silva or a surprise appointment, is not necessarily going to hit the ground running. The squad is unbalanced and weak in areas and if last season taught us anything, splashing cash on players left, right and mainly centre is not the way forward.
I expect we might see a lot of youth players thrown into the mix, and possibly a couple of players brought in, this is a major overhaul of our team and club let's support it not knock it before it's began.

Not been on the site for a while. Who actually wants Silva? I don't get what the big deal is. I think with his record we are looking at aiming for 8th again, doesn't really show any ambition. What does everyone else think?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

26 May 2018 00:50:40
Well I would take Silva, probably one of the few who do.

Agree4 Disagree0

26 May 2018 01:23:40
I want him. Seems to be very well thought of. Young, forward thinking coach. Plus we should have faith in Brands who is apparently here to forsee our future. If Brands backs Silva I will too until proven otherwise. Time to be positive again, any manager is going to be a risk to some extent.

Agree6 Disagree0

26 May 2018 07:51:57
I'm a big fan of his - looking forward to him joining us asap!

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i want him as well BT..

26 May 2018 09:04:20
As long as the DoF and the board exercise due diligence, research all the best options available and decide he is the man to bring success to our club then I fully support the appointment.
We will not all agree but we cannot have the corrosive atmosphere at games undermining the manager and team spirit!

Agree3 Disagree0

26 May 2018 09:23:06
Take a look at the poll on here Chris. You're in the minority.

Looking at twitter and Facebook he's also clearly the main choice as well.

Have a little read about his career it's pretty interesting and he's clearly an ambitious and driven man. Might settle some nerves and give you a bit of confidence.

Agree2 Disagree0

26 May 2018 17:41:42
I have my reservations about Silva. At the end of the day its down to Brands and the management so will just have to wait and see.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2018 00:00:34
Does any one know the past managers that Brands has had a saying in appointing I've seen Ronald k . And Martin j are two of many that have not been the best in the past do we have a full list of appointments before we all get to excited.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 May 2018 00:01:32
Let's face it we finished 8th, hardly a good advert for a european winning manager. We are in turmoil, hardly a good advert for a top manager looking for his next club to win silverware with. I am surprised at some of the names who have shown an interest in us. Even more surprised that we have got Brands. We have and that is good. I would take Silva too. This time let's not call for heads after 12 games. Let's back the DOF, the manager, and the board for getting them. The time to call for heads is at the end of the season which I doubt we will be doing. Once we get the new manager in we can watch with interest who goes and who comes. I feel a good summer coming up. COYB.
