Rom has been fantastic this season but I'm sick to death of this circus every week.

We've done more talking about him than any of the good stuff that's gone in the past 12 months. For me personally I want Barkley signed and Rom to come out with his decision. He needs to stop messing around and be honest so we can all move on from him.

This summer is a huge one and next season we don't need any distraction other than a concentrated effort at the CL. This continuous innuendo with Rom has to stop once and for all.

Thing is BJU, it's not just his decision. He made a decision 2 or 3 years ago to sign a contract. As a club we want him to extend it now and sign a new one. He has every right to let the contract run down and take the next 2 years looking elsewhere. Likewise, we can sell him now, in 12 months time or let him walk away for nothing in 2 years time. Soit is not just about Rom's decision. the club have a decision to make as well. We probably get top money for him if we sell him this Summer. But then we have no center forward. We can keep him for another 12 months and still sell him. and may even get as much then if transfer values keep increasing at the rate they have in recent years. I would guess that we will be looking for a replacement and when we have one, then we will sell him. Probably in 14 months time. So that we have him for next season and still get a good fee for him. That means our supporters will have to put up with the circus continuing for 14 months more. After all to sell him this Summer means we get more money (but we have that with Moshiri anyway) . Added to which, he is pretty well impossible to replace and it gives us 14 months to improve and get into Europe which is what he wants anyway. I really can't see going until the Summer after next. unless of course he has a verbal agreement with the club as some people have hinted? I think Ed002 suggested something along these lines?

{Ed002's Note - I suggested it before last summer and I expect he will go this summer Degsy - it is a case of what interest there is in him - and that will become clear over the next three months. Everton are certainly looking for a replacement already.}

I would guess you are right Ed002. But I also know that if we have not found a replacement, we are not in the situation of HAVING to sell just yet. With the contract as it is, unless there is a verbal agreement that we don't know about, we could squeeze another 12 months out of him and still get a decent fee. assuming he does not throw his toys out of the pram like Berahino did at WBA. I suspect we may wait the further 12 months and see what develops with our own progress. He wants European football. so do we. Like I say, it probably depends on what has been said to him. If you are in the know, then I accept what you say. My hope is that we keep winning, he keeps banging in the goals, we qualify for Europe and then he is happy to sign a new contract.

Agree0 Disagree2

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't really work like that. Clubs generally don't want to hang on the players who don't want to be there - it makes the situation difficult all around. Lukaku wants to be playing at the highest level and will not really be looking to hang around at Everton - where realistically the Champions League on any sort of regular basis is a very long way off. He would have signed the new deal save for the reasons I previously explained. His agent is talking to other sides to see what options may be available - and Everton will know that. Everton are certainly looking at alternative strikers and making sure that, should he leave, they have the information on available options. And you cannot discount the money that Lukaku and perhaps another leaving would raise for summer transfers.}

Thanks for the update Ed hope he stays but fear the worst on a positive note we are proactively looking now rather than waiting for his final decision.

{Ed002's Note - The club understand the situation SA.}

Could be just the distraction needed though so we keep sneaking up on those above us 🤔.

Absolutely gutted for Seamus, hope he gets well soon.

what's everyone's opinion on how we should set up against Liverpool, without him, though?

Think the simple solution would be to put Holgate in straight to right back, which I wouldn't mind, but I prefer him in the middle rather than fullback. I've heard calls for Kenny to be given a chance (I think it's too early for him and the Derby is way too big a game) . Also thought about the potential or us going 3-4-3 with Lennon as the right wing back.

Obviously it makes no difference what we think, but would like to hear people's thoughts or solutions.

Been thinking about lukaku situation, I hope he stays but I believe he will go. So, I believe we should ask for Nathan Ake and Batishya (excuse spelling) plus 20-30mil.
Both young, talented and will improve the squad. Also we must keep barkley at all costs, I would rather him over lukaku.

Best wishes to seamus, truly one of the games good guys.

{Ed002's Note - That is not going to happen.}

Ed02, maybe, maybe not, but you never know. If lukaku wants out and wants to go this summer I'm sure Man Utd, Juve, PSG and maybe City will be sniffing.
Chelsea may have to offer a few jewels.

{Ed002's Note - No, it is never going to happen - you are living in a fantasy world.}

No thank you. Bats on loan would be a shout but I don't know about the possibility.
