RM has had success in the past in the central / south american market, I think he may have a couple up his sleeve, given the fact that countries like Chile, Mexico costa rica etc have performed so well on the big stage, yet few of there players are going to cost really big money! Not sure what you all think?

Really like the new shirt, much better than Nike's offerings over the last few years which really didn't meet expectations. Nice job umbro!.

I have to agree Gibbo, I normally keep out of the footy shirt debate, after all a shirt is a shirt is a shirt, but I really like this one. It's plain, traditional and unpretentious and I think really captures our heritage. Dixie would have looked good in it.

I agree too. The Nike offerings were horrible. Almost as if we were privileged to have them making our shirt so we should be grateful. Whereas Umbro have given it a good go trying to improve the look. Mind you last season's would make any shirt look good. I suppose it's like taking over at United after moyes got sacked.

Nike designer is the laziest designer. A bit change something then put for another team kit.

I kind of like it errr I think, however it's better than anything Nike came up with

I have to laugh at some of these football "stars". Rodwell, Barry and Lescott are just a couple of examples. but there are lots of them around. To explain: they all know that they want to play at the top of their game at the highest level possible. So when a wealthy club comes in for them and offers them a fantastic contract, they jump ship and go to try and "win medals". Of course half way through their lucrative contracts, they discover that their new wealthy club continues to sign even more expensive players and big contracts and they themselves slip down the pecking order. They find themselves on mega bucks playing reserve team football. So they get their agents to try and manufacture a move to another club where they will get in the team (usually Everton) but do not want to have their new inflated salary reduced. I hear Rodwell is at it now. Barry certainly is. I am not particularly aiming this at either of those two, because the structure of agents, clubs and players means this is going on all the time at every club. If I was in negotiations with the agents, I would say, "does he want to sign or not. That is the offer". But then we would probably never sign any of them! LOL

I agree Degsy. I am starting to become disillusioned with Gareth Barry. He has just produced one of his best footballing seasons playing for us. Everton do not have the financial might of Man City but made a very good offer of 60k a week for the next two seasons to a player in the twilight of his career, who let's face it cannot be short of a bob or two.
I was led to believe that he was 'making his mind up' whilst on holiday. Well that was the best part of a month ago and still there's no news from him. The silence is deafening as they say. Is he simply holding out for an increased Everton offer or is he waiting for the likes of West Ham and Leicester City to start a wage war? Don't get me wrong. I'd love him to sign permanently for us (as I believe that his influence brought the best out of James McCarthy alongside him) last season, but are we expected to wait until September before he makes his mind up and we potentially lose out from attracting a targeted replacement.
I know some will say that the transfer window hasn't officially opened yet so there's no panic, but I'd like to think that Barry owes Everton an early answer now that he's a free agent.

Just goes to show the grass isn't always greener! in fact it rarely is!

Guys, we don't even know if Robbie wants Barry? I also don't think any signings will be announced before Robbie is back from Brazil. If Robbie wants him, we may all just be waiting for the deal to be officially announced on his return.
