Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

Everton have not had a home game on Boxing day since 2013/14 yet the fixtures are apparently random. 5 years on the bounce our team has to travel whilst our neighbours have home games for them 5 years. I'd quite like a day on the piss watching the game without having to travel too far for it. Random my backside.

It happens bluegray. In my day I was wangling a way to be stood on the end of a teleprinter in some god forsaken place so that I was one of the first to see my beloved teams results come through. Some of those lads will know what I am talking about LOL, gun in hand, while your mate is shouting come on for f*cks sake. At this time of year, ending and coming I remember them, so don't moan mate, just remember how lucky you are and privelidged to watch this grand old team home or away. Happy New Year.

Since Skys involvement the fixtures have been anything but random mate . You only need to watch the games to know Sky are scheduling the fixtures. The Mersey Derby being preceded or followed by either Manchester or North Londons equivalent proves that mate . Derby weekend usually coincides with some sort of special offer for new customers .

Johny89 and GB, they have a contrary opinion to yourselves at times does that make them or me a different supporter to yourselves. Every week we watch our Club of choice home and away and take what fortune gives us. An insight, my family PNE, LIVERPOOL AND EVERTON (think there is a Tranmere somewhere in there LOL) . Throughout this wonderful City there are thousands of us, I choose Everton.

Even though I’m a glass half full kind of guy, I do like reading the posts that are on the face of it quite negative. We all have an opinion and this is a forum to express our views. One thing we all have in common is that it’s pretty hard not to have a smile on your face when we go from losing so emphatically to winning so comprehensively the very next game.

I would actually feel sorry for the Ed’s having to read them all but judging by the amount of ads on this site Ed 01 probably enjoys watching his beloved reds from a hospitality suite, Ed 002 is busy counting his super agent commission whereas Ed 25 is currently having his pre afternoon nap nap.

Guys, we are all Toffees so let’s just all enjoy this win together.

Back up to 8th again excellent game, really good from the lads 100% better than last year we are work in progress this is going to be long job, a couple of additions in the Jan window and onwards and upwards.

I feel a lot better after that GB. Great performance by the lads. No one had a bad one. All excellent today. They got roundly criticised criticised for the spurs debacle and rightly so. So they deserve the complete opposite today plus more for showing character.

Agree Toffee ace they really showed their metal today but we will get these up and down results mate there is no quick fix here but we are going in the right direction and let's let Marco and Marcel do what they have been brought here for, compaired to the awful dross we were playing last year week in and week out this is a vast improvement in a very short time, Marco has only had one window if he can bring in a couple this window I will very happy.

27 Dec 2018 01:58:12
What they showed was a difference between where Burnley are at and what we can be, when applied. This fella (Silva) if he sticks around, (not renouned) given time and adaption of his philosophy can in my belief achieve what we want. What I would like is this constant over hyping of players instead of what we see game to game on (sorry) game day. Everton today were not the same team that took apart teams at the beginning of the season, we were up against a very poor side. The difference we now have a left back that can deliver and hit a ball from all angles. A fella that having been dropped knows his place so comes on and scores. All relative.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Dec 2018 10:27:56
this might shock u here ktf but i agree with u haha, if he sticks around he will get it right, i think richarlison needed that start on the bench to remind him he's not ronaldo yet and what a difference dinge makes, his link up with bernard is top class and putting balls in the box that are causing problems for the opposition we havnt had that for a couple of seasons now and its refreshing.

Excellent start to the game with 3 goals in 20+ minutes, and even though the intensity faded a bit as the game wore on we were mostly in control. I say mostly because Burnley did offer a bit of a threat at times but we held strong and in the end 5 - 1 was a great result and a perfect reaction to the Spurs game. Same again against Brighton and Leicester please. MOM is a toss-up between Digne and Bernard.

MoM was Mina, good for the goal but equally very good in defence. Excellent result and score, but believe it or not this was still a side out of form but playing a side with no confidence. Coleman was not excellent and has not been since his return from injuries, that is the truth, Kenny on the form he showed prior to Coleman coming back is still the better full back. Of course I to believe that even though not my first choice Silva is here for the long term, with Everton deciding that after all the chopping and changing we now need to do a Catterick, Kendal (first time) and Moyes. Also agree that despite the terrible decision making of the last game against Spurs, he will get it right. Those of us that criticise the Team, when in our opinion (Spurs) , bad decision making etc! led, leads to piss poor results, will continue to do so. It is impossible for life to be a bed of roses all the time, roses need nurturing, feeding and encouraging to flourish and that comes through hard work.

That was a great result Guernsey but it was Burnley who can't buy a win at the moment but we did play well but it doesn't take away how bad we have been lately and I still don't see Everton's future with silver but had to say something or you would be asking where all the doubters are because we won.

What does everyone think the lineup will be today?
I think Mina will come in for Zouma and Gueye (if fit) will start, hopefully for Davies but if Gomes is injured then he’ll take his place. DCL should retain his starting place.
Pickford, Coleman, Keane, Mina, Digne, Richarlison, Gueye, Gomes, Walcott, Sigurdsson, DCL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2018 12:29:15
Same for me. If Gomes doesn’t make it then maybe Bernard in his place?

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 13:20:02
Richarlison can play striker which would indicate perhaps that he is capable of playing RW (until hopefully we have a RW and striker lined up for January) , that being the case I would play Bernard DCL Richarlison across the front, Siggy behind, Gueye (Zouma if Gueye not right) Gomes, Kenny, Mina, Keane, Digne with Pickford in Goal. Won't happen that way of course, seems this Manager like many others has his favourites irrespective of form. So even though the side got tanked by Spurs, the only change I can see is Gueye and Gomes coming in (if they have recovered) .

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Richarlison like most players is capable of playing out of position and Zouma is certainly not a central or defensive midfield player. The squad is very lop-sided and should have been addressed by the coach in the summer.}

26 Dec 2018 13:32:49
Totally agree with you the squad is very lop sided and should definitely should have been addressed along with someone to push the goalkeeper for his place .

26 Dec 2018 14:10:51
Dont think Davies will play Joe mate, not after his last showing.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 14:26:29
Its getting addressed skylark we had a good summer window, Marco can't replace all 11 players at once or we would still have moans lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 14:35:25
Well the lineup today does indeed indicate that either Zouma or Mina will step out into the DM role alongside Gomes. Maybe Mr Silva reads these posts LOL.

Agree0 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 15:23:02
Hope he does mate because he clearly knows better than you lol.

Agree1 Disagree0

26 Dec 2018 13:47:18
Merry Christmas Ed002. The reason I refer to Zouma in the DM role is because Chelsea did play him in that role a few times and he did not too badly. Totally agree with your lop-sided assessment, of course it should have been addressed. I suspect (of course I do not know) that Mr Silva and Brandts were lined up months before the announced recruitment, so that being the case, I think, reasonable to assume they would have had identified what needed doing. Have to wonder.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - When did they do that on a regular basis and I will go back and check. You need to consider when they have had enough latitude.}

26 Dec 2018 11:05:38
Come on blue boys. Let's get back to winning ways. One more goal to become the first club to score 7,000 goals in English top flight history. Be good to own a stat the reds or mancs haven't already got.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

26 Dec 2018 11:09:13
thats a great stat that mate would love it to be calvert lewin who gets that goal aswell, he's got the potential to be clubs all premier league top scorer given time.

Ed. Didn't Steve mandanda play for palace for a season few years back?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - yes mate. Marseille wanted to gloss over that for some reason. Probably because he suffered a bad injury and left unhappily before a return after not settling in England.}
