Just read that Nottingham Forest have sacked Sean O'Driscoll - hours after they won 4-2 and went one point off the Championship play-off positions. For all those supporters urging our current board to sell out to new wealthy owners, just be careful what you wish for in case we end up with persons like that.

Apparently their owner is in contact with a premier league manager! Hope its not Moyes as their owner is stinking rich with money to chuck at the club similar to Citeh and Chelski! Degsypulford {Ed025's Note - that would be such a backward step, i just cant see it..

Mark hughes or RDM

On DM's situation, why would any manager in his right mind consider leaving a club that :
- pays him in excess of £3m a year
- where he has the trust and confidence of the Chairman and BoD
- suffers no interference in footballing matters
- and receives as much backing on transfers as is financially prudent
There is no guarantee that success will deliver both satisfaction or enhance coaching reputations - Ask Roberto De Matteo!
If I were in DM's shoes I'd even think twice about any future offer to manage Man U, for rest assured the replacement for Fergie will never be allowed the same free reign.
Fancy Smith {Ed025's Note - all good points them fancy..

All good points, but I wouldn't blame DM if he wanted to test his mettle with another challenge... I'd be bitterly disappointed if he left Everton, but I'd be thankful for the progress he's brought and hope that his successor would carry on moving the club forward. Players, managers, staff, directors - even supporters - all come and go eventually, but the club, its sprit, and its heart live on... I just hope that we are all worthy of our great club during our part in its history.

So why did Gibbo go off at HT wasn't at the game, not an injury I hope?

Moyes said in his post match interview he had a thigh strain

Yep thigh injury again
Agree0

With another thigh strain this could force moyes into reconsidering Odjija Ofoe and bring him in on loan in January as extra reinforcements in our already thin squad

good 3 points today even tho we played awful, neville in m idfield makes me shudder and without mirallas on the right our only output is left and the better teams (top 4) will certainly stop that threat!
on sunday id like to see oviedo on the right cutting in with naismith playing just behind jelavic!!
and please moyes sell heitinga i seriously find it hard to believe last season he was our best player lol the sight of him warming up makes me nervous!
anyway onwards and upwards we shall continue beat chelsea and we will be favourites for cl!!!

What a positive post, jonny will come good with a run of games and seems to love being here, he hasn't moaned once about not being in the team he knows he must do better. {Ed025's Note - none of us would moan, if we were getting £50k a week to sit on our arse!...he has not performed at all this season, and should be told to shape up..or ship out!..we cannot afford to carry passengers if we are serious about the champions league spot..

Another 3 points. Good result against our bogey draw team.
Actually feeling positive ahead of Chelsea on Sunday. A result there will seriously put pressure on the other teams around us.
Might even help with transfers wanting to come to a top 4 contending team.

Toffee ace {Ed025's Note - good result ace...but to be fair mate, very poor viewing..everyone has been giving us plaudits for our style of play, but today we were very poor mate!..i know we will all say a wins a win, and you are dead right! and yes the weather was crap...i just expected a bit more..

Trying to predict the team for today. I assume Colman is injured as he didn't play at the weekend
I'd really like to see the below but I doubt it will happen
Howard
Neville Jags Distin Baines
Pinear Osman Gibson Oviedo
Anichebe
Jelavic
More likely Moyse will stick with the same team as Saturday

No point fixing something that isn't broken is Moyes' usual mantra. Although we didn't play as well as we have done it got the job done in the end. I'd be surprised if he changed it.

Defining transfer window coming up for the management at Everton. With the long term stay of Moyes and even Fellaini seemingly poised on the year end league position, as well as an increasing issue of aging players in key first team positions, the big decision is whether to finance in January for the long term or next 6 months.
Do they buy to make the first 11 better, to increase the chances of European/CL qualification? This decision comes with obvious benefits, but buying proven Premier League (or PL known players) players better than what we have comes with high transfer fees and wages. Not to mention if they invest and then fail to qualify... expenses have increased without the income doing so.
If they make a decision to go with squad depth (purchase developing players on the rise), while this may be more financially prudent and beneficial in the long run, you are potentially not taking enough risk to secure European qualification this season. This possibly results in losing your manager, a big name and the impetus on the other teams waiting to invest the TV money to close the gap.
Everyone's thoughts?
NJY {Ed025's Note - good question njy...what we dont want, is to do a leeds!, overspend, then face the consequences. we all want to see new players, but there must be a modicum of financial prudence..
