I'm still in a bit of shock over Seamus. It's strange, he is one of those players you just expect to play every week. If he gets tackled he just gets up runs at break neck speed and gets that ball back.

It hurts even more as he is one of our own. I don't care what it says on his passport or birth certificate. He is blue right the way through. An inspiration to us all off the pitch and respected above most others on it.

I don't know of a better right back in WORLD football and wish him nothing but a speedy and full recovery.

One day, he'll have a stand named after him. I'll make damned sure of it.

100% agreed.

Totally agree BlueJohnUns. Funnily enough the day before the leg break I wrote a post praising Coleman. The lad isn't like most big headed footballers today. He is very grounded and down to earth. Committed to Everton. As I said before loved the way he came out in January last squashing rumours in the media that he was going to Utd.

Pure class, just like his actions on the pitch. Mr consistent and very rarely if ever has a stinker of a game. Very dependable. Hope he comes back the same player because at 28 he was just reaching his peak.

Skilful, very hard working and coveted by the rest. That makes him an Everton Great in my books. My one wish is that he comes back and wins some silverware with us as Captain, lifting it first.

Seamus is a gentleman and a legend in my eyes. For years he has been linked to Man Utd and others, no whinging, just head down and carry on doing what he is best at, playing for Everton. I think after his career has finished, he could and hopefully, be brought into a coaching capacity ( if he has the intentions to do so) . I think he will continue to have strong links with the club, but if not, he will be a special man and prayer at our club. Speedy recovery Seamus.

The best £60k ever spent in don't think any player will ever represent a better find in the whole world of football! Pure class!

To Marco Silva and Danny Murphy, last week Tom Huddlestone was sent off for a tackle that was exactly the same as Neil Taylor's last night, just because he didn't cause a serious injury doesn't mean it doesn't warrant a straight red card. If you go in over the ball with your studs showing on an opponents standing leg you can end a career and that is why these sort of tackles need a more serious punishment than the customary 3 game ban. If it was one of our players who committed a foul like that I would still say the same. Rojos at Goodison on Gueye is still one of the worst unpunished offences I have seen this season. In the Chinese Super League a player has received a fine and a 6 month ban for a stamp, we need to follow suit to cut out possible career ending injuries. I don't care what excuse Taylor comes out with he went in to that challenge to cause damage simple as that, he left the floor high and over the ball studs showing straight through Seamus leg, no excuse just dirty horrible foul play.

Good point bluegray. Roy Keane broke a lads leg on purpose so these players know what damage they can do by not tackling correctly.
If it was a mistimed 'proper' tackle then ya can say fair enough but that was high, over the ball and studs up.
Don't wanna make it a non-contact sport but this type of tackle needs more severe punishment. As I said last night, Taylor should be out for the same time as Seamus.

Plus the way he went through coleman If there was 4 players standing skin tight behind coleman they would have snapped legs as well. If that's not pure intent then intent does not exist. Absolute scum bag tackle. Very good point bluegray.

I think everyone is just waiting to hear how bad seamus' injury actually is and how long he is possibly out for.

We as fans need to sing his name loudly and proudly in our next home game to let him know we are there for him every step of his recovery.
Just hope it's not a career ender.

Double fracture, been reported here in Ireland. At least 6 months out
Long haul back to where he's been, hope he makes it.

As someone who knows about orthopaedics I keep hearing about the length of his time out and liking it to Bolassie. Generally a fracture is far less serious than a ligament injury so let's just wait and see. Incidentally did you know the break actually becomes stronger.

Yeah trebor. Ross Barkley is testament to that. He had a bad leg break too as a youngster. I wasn't comparing Coleman's and bolasie injuries. More that they can keep each other positive during long spells out.

So Lukaku tells press Everton future decision made? Well how about making it public or at least letting the board know so we can prepare for next season without him.
That being said, personally after reading his recent comments I do feel he wants to stay and see how we progress. He states his comments about ambition were taken out of concept and that he wants to help Everton progress, that to me is a staying signal.

Gutted for Seamus there hope he's back soon

Connelly or Holgate I'd imagine, please don't put Mirallas there or something Ron.

I would be tempted to give jonjoe kenny a go. Watched him a few times this season for the 23's and he's the most like for like replacement for Seamus out of what we have got imo.

Hey Swan, how weird that we were debating Seamus yesterday and then this happens. guess we will find out how good/ effective he was now. Either way, I know we all don't want these things to happen. can't see him putting Mirallas there. will be one of the kids and maybe back 3 in more games? eg Holgate, Williams and Mori?

Guys great news on the stadium gutted about Coleman tonight though. regarding stadium I think 45-50k seating with room for additional seating at a later date would be great. what are the thoughts on a name? I'm guessing naming rights deal will probably come into play but hope they include docks somewhere in name just my preference.
