Degsy your from skem aren't ya? I'm in skem tonight, come down from Bootle to see a friend for his 40th. Ended up stuck here! Oh well, in was forced to go the Tanner for a few, and your right the snow is really bad here!

Ed do you think we will get a decent permanent signing in, eg a player for over £3m? {Ed025's Note - i think we will mate, but it may be loans with option to buy scenario,s, as this seems to be the latest fad..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What makes you think that the price of a player is linked to his ability?
By your reckoning that makes Andy Carroll a world beater and Darren Gibson a Sunday League hoofer.
I am guessing that you are in your early teens, and, like many children these days, you know the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Great that every time I read were in for becchio austin or some other championship player, lets be brutally honest if they could hack it in the prem wouldn't they have been tapped up by someone else by now.. isn't like were gonnna break the wage budget for them so they're probably not getting sniffed around by anyone else.. But hopefully with the TV money we can get some better players next year, were pretty solid atm anyway, we just need a cm

I have looked at our remaining fixtures for the season and I think our target has got to be 63/64pts if we want top 4. what's everyone else think we need or will get.

Robbie

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hav a few big guns away so will be tough, utd, spurs, aresnal and of course liverpool, if we make top 5, we wil hav earned it, true blue, efc 4 life

Agree0 Disagree0

And chelski away

Agree0 Disagree0

Usually top 4 you would need around 70 points. We are on 38 now so your looking at another 32 points, would be tough with only 15 games left, we would need to win 9 or 10 games and draw 3-4 and only lose 1 or 2.
Tough ask but we have to believe. Gut feeling? We will finish 5th or 6th and regret these draws we dominated! Especially Fulham away!

Hi Eds and fellow Toffees.
Just a change of topic from transfers.

If an investor was found and they wanted to build a new stadium or redevelop Goodison what capacity do you think would be suitable.
I am reliably told that big isn't always beautiful! ;)

Thoughts?

AW {Ed025's Note - 60,000 for me AW..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeahh, about 60,000 would do me...50,000 minimum.

Murf

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Ed025 60,000

Robbie

Agree0 Disagree0

Could we fill 60k though? {Ed025's Note - i feel that if continue to progress, that we could do it justice, all the big games it would be mostly full, and dont forget the other markets out there, such as boxing, pop concerts etc.. that will increase revenue..

Agree0 Disagree0

We'd never fill a 50,000 seater never mind 60,000. We're lucky to sell out for home game against man united and the reds {Ed025's Note - its not just about football though...the commercial side of things is very lucrative..

Personally, I would love to see us do what Juventus have done in Italy. Their new ground is by no means the biggest, but it does have the crowd close to the pitch & generates a fantastic, intimidating atmosphere for the visitors. Juve's full season unbeaten run last year was down to the effect of having the new home, according to the experts. So, as I tell any new girlfriend, bigger does not always mean better!

A few people suggesting dropping Jelavic for the next game. Worst thing we could do that!! Best thing to do is to tell him to stop running the channels and stay in the box

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Wouldn't Moyes havin another look at Yannick Djalo because he was reportedly interested in him a year or so ago...he moved to Benfica on a free but now he's on loan at Toulouse with a view to a permanent move..I reckon we could hijack that with a cheeky bid either now or in the summer! I think he's a decent player, he just needs a chance to show it!

It's all a bit negative at the moment, which is understandable off the back of two games without scoring, seeing 2 teams getting to a final that we are clearly better than. And no transfer business done yet.... YET!!

But seriously lads, we have many reasons to be cheerful.

We are going into the second half of the season looking ahead and not behind.

Our neighbours are playing catchup with us and not the other way around

Our top players are on long contracts which leaves us strong on and off the pitch

Still a chance of silverware this season

2 clean sheets in a row to build from

There are many more great things to pick out from the season so far and indeed plenty to look forward to. Starting with Bolton and the countries best away support bar none

So come on lads our team needs us to help them to do what they always do at this time of the Year.... Win games

Let's play our part and enjoy watching our boys play theirs

COYB
Toffee ace {Ed025's Note - great post ace..

Nothing to be cheerful about tp {Ed025's Note - stop being a miserable sod!, we are 5th, in the best league in the world tp..

Agree0 Disagree0

With no new signings you ace and degsy must be on happy pills we need signings two draws against awful teams were playing crap one dimensional football and our "best" striker is a half a season wonder tp {Ed025's Note - it beats the misery pills you seem to have overdosed on tp..

Agree0 Disagree0

I dnt think its negativity people, I think all us blues are a bit frustated wit last few results and wit the otherside catchin up and teams strengtenin, we are panicin a little, we now know for certain that 7 wil not be good nuf to get into europe, we stil hav to travel to, anfield, spurs, utd and aresnal so it will be tough but lets hav little faith, TRUE BLUE EFC 4 LIFE

Fellaini Osman

Hi
Just thought I would drop on to this site to tell all you Everton fans that 2 Liverpool counsellors and 2 representatives from Everton where at the Aviva stadium here in Dublin yesterday. If your wondering why I know this its because I work there. I'm not an Everton fan I'm a MU fan and i'm always looking at there rumour site so I thought I would pop across and let you know because I know you guys might be thinking about a new stadium.

Lets not forget that the team we have now, is the same team we were all praising at the start of the season.

The same team that ripped teams apart, the same players that looked like they could win the league, the same team that all the pundits were saying were playing the best football in the league and could not see anyone else beating us to 4th.

We had players injured and still were dominating games and creating loads of chances.

So what happened? Could it be that The answer lies in how negative some fans have become? Could it be that Goodison has become Quiet? Could it be that all the negativity is affecting the players? Could it be that the players started to believe their own hype and started turning up for games thinking they were going to walk it without putting in any effort?

I don't know, but what I do know is something must have gone on. How can a team go from playing world beating football, to the performances we have seen against Swansea and Southampton? No to mention all then 1 Half performances in the couple of months before.

My Opinion is the players now know that certain players will get a game no matter how poor they play, Moyes has his Favourites and the rest of the squad know that, this must have created some kind of Negativity.

For me Once Neville went to Rb and Fellaini dropped into Cm we looked better. The last 2 games Fellaini has had to be moved around and Osman to try to make up for Phil Neville, What Moyes needs to do is just play Neville RB, if he does not want to drop him then he must play there, After all he marked Bale outta the game twice in that position.

We don't need a Midfielder in this Window, we have Fellaini, what we do need is a Striker, but even that we have if Moyes will just play Vellios or Vic up top. Some times Moyes has to take the blame for some of the decisions he is making. I know we all love him and he has moved this great club forward, but he does not help himself with some of his decisions.

Jelevic needs to stay in the centre, just like Sir Alex told RVP, Lets just hope Super Kev can stay fit.

Sorry for the long Post and hope I didn't upset none of my Fellow Blues, Respect, its now or never for us this season. {Ed025's Note - good post that mate, cant say i agree with all of it, but some really good points..

would you fellow blues ever welcome back john ruddy at everton.. he's a terrific keeper and howard just doesn't seem to be interested anymore... I would definitely bring him back to goodison {Ed025's Note - why dont you think howard is not interested anymore?...i think he is playing well..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Every goal keeper makes mistake, all you fans who have a go at howard (and moyes) hoping we have a change of personnel, will reget it when they're gone.
can we just stop with the "who shall we get to replace??" until that said person is gone then its not even worth thinking about, the whole team are doing great at the moment so be a TRUE BLUE and get behind the squad we have!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Howard has made a few mistakes yes, but every keeper does. Did you not see the Southampton Game? He was Exceptional. {Ed025's Note - your right..

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2013 09:45:52
Whats going on Ed with people slamming Howard, he is class and just needs a bit of competition

Degsy {Ed025's Note - i think he is a quality keeper degsy..and for me, our priorities lie elsewhere, i can see the benefits of a good back up, but for me a DM and a striker are top of the list..

Agree0 Disagree0

We already have a DM Ed and he is too negative. Imagine having 2. Would be like watching paint dry {Ed025's Note - not all DM,s are negative mate, look at players like toure, they are still allowed to go forward..

Agree0 Disagree0

Reason I said howard was not interested because yes he has made a few mistakes but he's got no one to be compared to, so he is playing at his own pace and just looks as if he's not really bothered... if there was some one who could give him a run for his money as 2nd choice keeper, it might make him look more UP for the games... not necessarily slating howard, he's a terrific professional and has been since we signed him.. {Ed025's Note - he looked bothered to me on monday mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

25 Jan 2013 14:47:08
I think what he is trying to say Ed is that Howard is class but we would get even more out of the guy if he knew someone was waiting for him to make a cock up, so that they could step into his shoes, it would get an extra few percent out of the guy as it would do with any player who was as proud and professional as Tim.

Degsy {Ed025's Note - i agree that competition does no harm degs..

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you think anyone wouldn't welcome him back? he never did anything against the club or bad for the club!
one of my mates is good mates with john and moyes told him a few years ago that he would never make it in the prem, so I think it would be more john saying no to coming back
