MikeN, I seen your post below. I take it your points are true. That makes it a much better deal for Everton. Seems Martinez has built a good relationship with Barcelona. Sounds like a win win for all involved. Loving Del boy, makes games very exciting.

Not Everton related but just a bit of fun, news headlines which are just getting ridiculous now, year after year of the same garbage that the respective fans actually believe, start off with these two which are ridiculous, first one has been floating around since the guy was 21 (6 years ago) , second one never going to happen

Benzema to Arsenal
Ronaldo back to Utd.

I'm an Evertonion right down to my boots, and, in say 7 or 8 years, the local auothority putting in some cash now, may look a sound investment in developing a new ground But right now, liverpool's authority is being decimated by tory cuts of over 50%, their is hardly enough money to meet care for the elderly, vanrable adults, or childern at risk, givern the presure on local spending, we cannot reasonably expect investment from the council, and no amount of finger pointing fron our ceo can cover the fact that it his job to find investment in the club, one for which he is well paid, so deliver, or move aside for someone who can.

JCW the council would not put in without a payback plan anyway which would involve a decent profit for their investment, I don't know where the idea that the council would pay a third, half or whatever has been banded about came from, but they do not give money away for nothing, especially to football clubs that are earning vast amounts, well everyone bar West Ham, looks like those who work for a living are paying a lump of that one for the foreseeable future, I think investment is coming and we should know for sure in January if we have turned down massive bids for Rom or Stones.
