I know it’s a big if but if we get the likes of Welbeck in and keep him fit that would be a great upgrade on Tosun and Niasse
Lossl will be great as backup and should also trim the wage bill
And it Strootman came in I think that would add another dimension to the midfield
If we then managed to get say Gomes and another striker we could look to loan DCL and Tom Davies out to gain more first team football experience
But I can only speculate and we will have to see what Marco and Marcel do.

DCL shouldn’t be going anywhere. Deserves another season with the first team, even if it’s coming on as sub in the last 15mins. His pace still rattles defences, and he will get better.

Red in peace! I don’t get the wellbeck link surely you’d be better just giving Calvert-Lewin more game time? I understand that he’s free but he’s never been great. Never know might work out okay the lad works hard ill give him that.

Welbeck has scored 42 goals on premier league since 2007 - that’s average of 3.5 goals a season. Not once has he got double fingers and only 3 times scored more than 5 (I really don’t see how he is an upgrade on anything we have)

Stats tell lies when fit he is quality, I would like Mitrovic and Wellbeck and also DLC maybe a team needs at least 3 centre forwards.

3.5 goals a season. That's more than Niasse and Tosun collectively.
Wellbeck like DCL offers a bit more as well as goals.

I’m pretty sure he got a few double fingers when he left united for arsenal 😂.

Would signing Welbeck just be like signing another Walcott. Great players in there day but have those days gone?

Could probably do a job for us and may teach DCL a thing or two.
On a free not a bad shout but can’t see him being a long term solution however may be a decent stop gap until hopefully we get European football and are then a more attractive proposition for players.

I reckon he's got more goals in him than all our current strikers, but with his injury history, surely we should be looking at alternatives. Like you say, there's is a good chance we would end up with another Walcott situation.

I'd love to have Welbeck but only if he can stay fit.
He is the type of striker we should be looking at, strong, with a great engine and can get 15 goals a season if he stays fit.
On a free and as a replacement for Niasse or Tosun then it's a no brainer.

Agree excellent signing if Marcel can get him in.

Nah, not for me. Doesn’t seem worth it paying high wages for someone who’s unlikely to be our first choice striker.

If welbeck was foreign everyone would say he is a flop. He is injury prone and very rarely scores. He’s got WestbHan written all over him.
English players get over hyped - look at Jessie lingard - people saying he is young and will break through - the guy is 26! Again rarely scores - look at welbecks stats before anyone suggests signing him.
We already have Naisse, Sandro, DCL and Toson to fill role of strikers who rarely score - we need a 15-20 goal a season - Abraham for me. Honestly stay clear of mitrovic - watched him play loads - makes Lakaku first touch look like a magnet 🧲.

Rather we sighned British players all day long because they have backbone and steel most Euro players do not.

Backbone and steel are not words that anyone could describe Danny Wellbeck with - come on!

Jonas Lossl apparently signed on a 3yr contract.
I imagine Stekelenburg leaving
Not sure what's happening with Virginia, hopefully gets a loan to a championship club and comes back next season to challenge.
