Let's invest the money elsewhere and just buy Siggy next year. He'll be at most £20 mil once they're in the Championship ;)

Sky now saying Swansea have rejected the offer. Think this will run a while yet. Hopefully we will get him in the end.

Think we should invite Defoe to play for us in charity match.

West Ham fans all over the internet saying there signings are levels above Everton and none of are players would get in the team. Ino it's nothing to do with transfers. But they are just as interested in Everton as Liverpool. So hopefully a West Ham fan sees this and tells use who wouldn't get in there team please.

Hahahahaha West Ham.

bigduncan they have become as deluded as kopites they have bought a keeper in decline a striker who will struggle to hit 15 goals and a mid who on his day is great but they are 1 every 4 games they lost their main creative player in Jan and replaced him with Snodgrass ha ha they will sit comfortably in mid table but that's it I for one think 95% of our team would walk into theirs.

One of my best mates it's a massive Stoke fan an he says Arnautovic is one of the laziest players he's ever seen, magic on his day but that only happens once in a blue moon. Hernandez is a decent signing but I fail to see how any of our new signings wouldn't get in their team, Pickford or Adrian? . Keane and Rooney are worth a starting position I'm sure, I'm only not mentioning Sandro and Klassen because I haven't seen enough of them to comment but Sandro didn't give us a bad run out on Saturday! .

I know one of the players who played with him at stoke. As you say, one lazy player who suffers with a bad case of big time charlie-itis!

Varied opinions over Sigurdsson. just feel going as far as 50m for a player of his age sends a message that other clubs can now manoeuvre everton into paying over the odds. don't want us to follow City and pay silly money. it might be the going market rate. but everton have a reasonably good track record of being prudent in the transfer market and I don't think that should change just because we are In a stronger financial place.

Just for info, I sign up for the cup games when renewing my season ticket so just phoned EFC as my ticket for Thurs not arrived yet they said they are being posted out an should arrive by weds, So anyone in the same position don't panic :-)

If Koeman really wants Sigurdson why are Everton's negotiating team messing about. Rumour coming out of Wales is that Swansea have rejected 45 million. Offering that Everton obviously believe he is worth it. So why not go immediately back with 50 mill. Just saying.

{Ed002's Note - Because £5M is a great deal of money. You can get a Chalobah for that, a Kolorov, two Jordi Mboulas - and he might be the snip of the summer, a Marcelo, or Mbappe's left nipple.}

24 Jul 2017 20:14:40
Ed002 has seen Mbappe's left nipple. Ed002 reaches the parts, Carlsberg dream of. £5M is a great deal of money, I agree but we will end up paying it anyway. That is of course if there is substance to the rumour (s) . No doubt the Club will do what is best. Mr Kenwright has certainly found the perfect fit in Mr Moshri. Just need the 'bird' painting blue now, and his Liver takeover will be complete.

24 Jul 2017 23:54:54
Did you possibly think we don't value him at that? Rumours abound that we offered £40m yet we say £45, which to me suggests difficult to achieve add-ons. Giving in to £50m is a staggering price increase, roughly £100k a week wage for a player for a year. We could get a better/ equal player plus his wages for less than Swansea want.

25 Jul 2017 22:55:06
And a Sandro Ed 😉.

24 Jul 2017 19:47:04
Just adding to my previous message. Aren't Swansea playing a risky game. So now they've refused the 40 plus add ons. Let's say Everton say keep him. Now Swansea have a cheesed off player. Who according to reports states his head has been turned. And you never want a player that doesn't want to be there. Just look at J Stones.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - This is business as usual. No more, no less. Would Everton have sold Lukaku for £40M? How about £55M plus add ons?}

24 Jul 2017 19:52:15
True ed. I get players are ridiculous pricing. But 50mill that is crazy money.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yep - they will balance out agreeing to sell when they think they have hit the apex with Everton - I still expect it to happen.}

24 Jul 2017 19:58:45
I thought we 'slapped' a £100m price tag on lukaku and then sold for £75m plus £15m add ons. £40 plus £5m seems pretty reasonable but can see why Swansea are holding out, he's such a huge player for them.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2017 21:12:36
we as fans can't complain we did it with stones and Lukaku plus doing it with Barkley he is Swanseas best player and value him at 50 million so we either play it or we don't sign him it's simple.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2017 19:40:18
Just read Swansea have rejected Evertons new bid of 40 plus add one. I think Swansea are seriously taking the piss now. Part of me wants to say keep him. But I just know he would be brilliant.

Everton don't have to buy him. he is their best player and played a large part in them staying up. if they went down this season the financial ramifications could be massive. that's why they want top dollar. as a " smaller " club they need to maximise their spending power also. If Everton don't wanna buy they'll have other targets. I'm not too worried. SAW and RK know what they are doing.

24 Jul 2017 20:13:12
Well said. People keep questioning whether he's worth £50m to us but losing sight of what he's worth to them. Without him last season they'd have been relegated which would have cost them more than £50m.

It's more about the value of losing a player to the selling club than about the value to the buying club.

Once again we show that we are not just a business we are a family club and we care about fans and not just our own. For all those who knock Bill, this is his doing and if we had a Chairman who didn't have a heart just a wallet, not only would the donation not have been made but also the two occasions this little lad was mascot at Goodison also would not have happened. So come September 3rd I will be paying my respects for a wonderful little fighter who captured my heart and will always be part of the Everton family.

Well put blueberry, some things transcend all this money mania in the game today, it also has to be noted and applauded the part Jermaine Defoe has had in this sad story, I for one will be giving this fella a resounding welcome to goodison forever.

In my eyes you're welcome back any time Tim.

If RK wants 2/ 3 new players to join. What we thining? GS is pretty nailed on. Grosicki still talk, think we can grab a better winger than him personally. And which of the rumours will get into first team. GS yes, Grosicki squaddy. Really need a utility defender.

Just been reading Wenger has said Giroud doesn't want to leave and he doesn't want to sell him, who does anyone think we will go for next, if links are to be believed we were after him, we can't go the season with out a main striker.

I think Sandro is our man and has been bought as a main striker. He looks mustard.

24 Jul 2017 13:35:16
What if he gets injured? Very few players will play as many games as Lukaku in a season, that was probably one of his biggest plus points. We must get another centre forward in.

Agree4 Disagree1

24 Jul 2017 20:21:45
Yes Milo, I would imagine we will need a little bit more depth up front. I meant that Sandro has been signed as the main striker as opposed to a back up. If he does get injured, Rooney can do his job as others. I expect Everton to line up with 3 across the front this season, so a main striker/ target man may not be needed.

Sandro can't half finish. Take a look at his Everton training session on YouTube.

He'll get goals next season blues no worries.

I think he'll certainly get us goals but I do t think he'll be getti g bug numbers. More of a link up striker. Can see him around the 12 mark.

On the point of videos, and I'm not one to believe YouTube offers the whole picture. But the video on Gylfi shows to me that this is a must signing. He has so much skill. We know what he's like as a player as we see him perform in our league. But this video on YouTube really does confirm to me that he will improve us no end. I would love to see this deal done. Penalties, free kicks, open play. The boy has the lot.
