No offence to the lad he's a great player, but we can survive without him. I'm on about Fellaini, for me it looks like he'll be gone in the summer and as long as we get the right price and a suitable replacement I'm happy, ideally I'd like to see us sign Kaka, assuming Fellaini's departure frees up enough salary, we get champs league and enough to buy (15-20million), with the addition of Lallana with the remainder of the money

EtidAaron

Believable0 Unbelievable10

Let's get this straight, you wan to sell Fellaini and sign Kaka (30 odd year old who is past it) and Adam Lallana, who plays for Southampton and is not Champions League quality?

Sell heitinga 4-5m

Buy
Capoue 8m
Loan striker

Is this just a guess, or a dream ?

The usage of the word 'think' would suggest that like most fans on here, this person is speculating. And it's not a bad one either.

Whats all this about Becchio I've seen his name mentioned on here but there's nothing on any sites so I'm assuming that its not true? Is there any truth in this one Ed? {Ed025's Note - he does tick a lot of the boxes mate, but how high he is on the list, only moyes knows..

Believable1 Unbelievable3

The only box he ticks is being a glorified Heidur Helguson. Not for me, would sooner give Victor or Velios a go up there and buy where we need it. Central midfield or right back.
Hank

Agree0 Disagree0

How on earth do you think we need a right back more than a striker Hank? We have Coleman, Hibbert and even Neville, why waste what little budget we have on a player we don't need. We need a CM and competition for Jelavic

Ed's can you tell me about the Royston Drethe affair. Moyes just dropped him from our Semi with Liverpool and nothing ever came out?

The reason I ask is I seen him last night smoking a fag and downing copius amounts of what looked like Vodka and cokes in Liverpool bar so he's still knocking about the city? what's his deal? {Ed025's Note - he asked to be allowed to go home to holland for family reasons, then spent the whole time on the p*ss with his mates, moyes found out, and the rest is history...by the way, it may not have been him, there are a lot of lookie likies in this city..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

It is him our own Francisco junior posted a photo with him a couple of days ago as it was juniors birthday and this so he was out and who else is there but party crazy drenthe it is him fourth official also saying he's still living in Liverpool both are good sources

It was definately Ed.. 100% {Ed025's Note - i believe you mate..

What a idiot - I still blame him for us not winning that cup - he cost us that semi - and now he's p*ssing his life away - oy! drenthe! looking forward to the day you're all washed up and your money's all gone on partying with hangers on - then you'll be in the gutter with no career and nothing to look back on - thanks for costing us that semi {Ed025's Note -

All this talk of who we buyng who were not, its just the norm now for us until we get the financial backing we need, to be honest I will be just as happy if we keep our whole squad together, sell no one, get everyone fit and where sorted, if we get someone before transfer window closes its just an added bonus imo,
Love the toffees, coyb..

Heard a bizzare rumour today, apparently not a single player will sign as the board don't feel it's acceptable to fund any sort of move for a player moyes wants while his own future is still undecided, with nigel Adkins already been spoken to about taking over in the summer should moyes leave? Anyone heard anything?
Surely moyes would sign if he was backed? If we won't back a man who's been here a lifetime and showed progress year in year out what will they ask Adkins to do exactly? Southampton was a fairly simple job, they rubbish out youth stars like it's a clearance sale, or maybe that's what they want? A Barcelona bilbao southampton type club where everything is made and molded not bought? Would be nice enough but would take years to happen, we let go of all our talent, Rooney, Wallace, Baxter, rodwell, Baines, jags, fair enough we saw sense and went and dragged bainsey and jags back, thank **** we didn't let Lionel Hibbert go anywhere.
Anyway people's thoughts? Or answers to if it's just rubbish?
Marouanes mop {Ed025's Note - i think the latter..

Moyes to go in summer. Why would he stay? I he stated that he scouts personally and Everton can't even compete with rubin kazan. Under the current regime 5th place is the best the club can hope for. Not being pessimistic just realistic. Squad is waver thin no money and being outbid and out foxed by literally 19 other premier league clubs. {Ed025's Note - well, are,nt you a bundle of fun!..

I don't think we need a new signing although I'm confident we will bring one in. I think we can just reshuffle what we have. I think Jela needs to be benched for a few games, not long term like. Stick victor up top who is looking really sharp and stick Kevin behind him, who will produce something out of nothing. Drop Naismith, move Coleman to RM and stick Neville RB then move Felli and Osman into midfield, both alternating as the protector. Same players, totally different usage of them. Things are good but if we want top 4, we need to pull something out.

Hope we at least try and sign Jack Butland, young promising&back up for Howard. Also don't see what the big fuss about a striker is, yeah Jelavic needs back up but when Mirallas is back to full form he will be like a new signing. Would hope we go for a CM though, can see Felli leaving in the summer if we don't get in the Champions League.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Dont think 3mill down and 3mill in the summer is much of a kitty Ed,
if are board thought anything about the club they would have made up the shortfall and we would have had a class player for buttons. Who could blame Moyes if he walks in the summer.

Uproar here in Leeds as Luciano Becchio has handed in a transfer request there has been rumours that Everton want him and a couple of my mates reckon we could be in for him what do you think Ed tbh I don't think we will go for him.
Joe EFC {Ed025's Note - i actually rate him joe...i would not rule it out..

Believable2 Unbelievable4

I've seen him quite a lot Ed and I do think he's good albeit a bit slow but when we signed Beckford I was told that Becchio was better plus he works harder for the team so I guess he's a Moyes type player.
Joe EFC {Ed025's Note - thats how i see it as well joe..

Are we actually in for him Ed? I thought we wanted Austin not him?
Cheers, Vausey {Ed025's Note - there are a few in mix vausey..only moyes knows the pecking order mate..

What is the general feeling out there...Do people want to see a change in management? or do they want Moyes to sign another contract?
I for one am confused as I am frustrated at treading water (as is moysie) but I fear for us if he leaves!
Any change will be the making or breaking of this club...i just hope the board have a plan be in case there are changes this summer
If Moysie does go he should be congratulated by each and every Evertonian for the job he has done here and should be forever hailed a "Legend"

Believable3 Unbelievable3

It's seems simple moyes wants reassuring that the board has ambition and a plan of direction,, he wants backing if he leaves its because they won't back him .a new manager will hav the same financial limits, no money to spend without selling .for me it a no Brainer they hav to back him, there will be an exodus of are best player and a rapid decline in team quality .everton are at a crossroads of being a team who can constantly challange the top 4 , the latter I don't wanna think about

Agree0 Disagree0

Any1 who wants to see a change of management then be careful what you wish for, if moyes goes then so will half the team, and try finding a new manager who wants to take over a club with no more big name players and no money to spend IMWT ALWAYS! {Ed025's Note - no argument from me mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Lack of signings isn't moyes's fault

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2013 13:56:52
If Moyes went so would our stars, any new manager would want funds and the only way for us to get money is to sell

Dont know why we are even discussing this, we are sitting 5th in the league with some cracking players.

Moyes is not signing a contract because he wants the board to back him, as Mike has also stated there is no bigger club in this country that would take him, chelsea, City, man united and Arsenal all would want a higher profile manager, he is also one of the highest paid managers in the world on appx 75k a week

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

I do think its a make or break next 7 days. if moyes can't bring anyone in due to a low budget I really think he will call it a day, even stubbsy said as much on TALKrubbish. I would have expected the board to have taken a gamble and given him enough to bring in 2 or 3 players to help us with the final push to CL.

Last summer when we signed Mirrallas, Peanuts, Oviedo, I recall seeing posts on here from fans saying that they were over the moon and if we did not bring in any players in January they would not be bothered cause they were happy with the squad.Bill was being praised on this site by many including me.Moyes will get somebody in one way or another but it will not be the 10 mill signing were being linked with here and there and everywhere. But for me lads honestly once our squad is fully fit i'm not too bothered either we have a great squad small I know but great either way and a great team spirit. If we get a another player or two in it will be great especially to thicken up the squad but either way i'm still very happy with what we have and to see Mirrallas coming back the other night got me excited cause he is like a new signing. All I can say let's wait and see what happens if we get a player in great if we don't try not to get downhearted we have a great team and if we can keep them fit we will all be smiling come the end of the season.I would also like to say that I vent my fury giving out about our board not investing in the team but i'm sick and tired of it now because we all know it will never happen so instead of moaning about the things we don't have lets start being positive with the things we do and that is great support and a great squad there COYB Stef the blue {Ed025's Note - love it stef...but i still want a couple in mate..

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Need to back moyes if he wants players, every time we have an injury the squad is exposed especially if were serious about champions league and more importantly keeping moyes, but I think Weil have good last week in window players seem to be signing new contracts so I'm optimistic

Agree0 Disagree0

I was very happy at the summer signings and if we did not get anyone this window it would not be an issue with me. I do think we need to strengthen the right and would like to see an additional CM but I still think we have a squad that could get us into the top 4. The boys just need to stay clear of injuries and be on top of their game for the rest of the season.

SA90 {Ed025's Note - easier said than done..

Agree0 Disagree0

Or you could look at it another way, if Moyes doesn't bring in anybody and he still hasn't signed his contract that he will probably be off in the summer.

As he would have taken the club as far as he can with the funding on offer.

Germany beckons for Mr Moyes me thinks, or Billy mingebag will find some money in the back of the couch.

Agree0 Disagree0

Y not back the manager I'm gobsmacked at are board lack of ambition if they'd half the ambition of moyes and fans we, d be in champions league every year .we probably hav not just one of the best but probably one of the most prudent managers .if ever there was a mis match its Everton and the present board

Agree0 Disagree0

I back Moyes but until he signs a new contract we really just have to get behind the team i'm not wasting my energy anymore giving out about the board cause they don't care anyway if Moyes goes it will be a sad day for us but we will all still be here .Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes is a legend. But he doesn't do the dour Scotsman stereotype any favours. Cheer up David! Give us a smile! How about even cracking a joke one day! 75k a week it can't all be bad! {Ed025's Note - i dont think he would smile..even if he seen a chair walk!..

Having selected a strong side to play Cheltenham in the FA Cup (and won), but a weaker side against Leeds (and lost) in the League Cup, you'd expect DM to select a strong side against Bolton in the FA Cup. However, we have two league games next week - home to West Brom on Wednesday and then Aston Villa on Saturday, both games that we'll need to take maximum points from IMHO if we're to stay in contention for 5th place let alone 4th place. As I understand it, this season because of the Swansea/Bradford League Cup Final, it'll only be an FA Cup win by a club already qualified for Europe that would make 6th place a Europa League qualifying position. Surely Swansea won't finish in the top 5 and qualify for Europe that way - and they're already out of the FA Cup - so there are two Europa League qualification spots remaining. As for other permutations - such as Arsenal finishing outside the top 4, but winning the CL, and thereby taking the fourth CL qualification spot, leaving 4th place as a Europa League spot (and none for 6th and, possibly, none for 5th also depending on cup wins), that's improbable.
So, we need to win points consistently, but can our first choice players handle (fitness-wise and freshness-wise) three games in the coming week? European qualification via the FA Cup needs fewer games, but the luck of the draw is vital, so DM's use of our squad (thin though it is) is being tested yet again in order for us to finish high enough in the table. IMWT. Once a blue, always a blue.
Cowpat Sid

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Totally agree mate. And I know Moyes will anger some supporters whatever he does! Especially if we lose any of the games. I myself would pick a slightly weaker team for the Bolton game based on the fact we are in a great position for the Euro positions and the amount of hard work that has already been put in. I think every player has given nothing but 100% all season and that has to be a tribute to the club now. I can remember times 15 years ago when that was not the case! Hats off to them all!
Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be happy for DM to use a slightly weaker starting 15 for the Bolton game. West brom will be difficult and Villa are one of our bogy teams so neither are going to be games were we can rest players. IMO DM will select the side he thinks will win each fixture so he will get my full support whatever team is selected. Great news about Sylvan.
