lets face facts a massive reason behind our poor league starts over the last 3 season coincides with the clubs inability to come up with funds to freshen up the squad. Again the same this year except we are losing experienced internationals and replacing them with kids ( good ones at that) but the players are going to lose faith in the clubs ambition and status {Ed025's Note - that is the problem....nice post mate

Believable1 Unbelievable1

What experienced International have we lost. Peanuts is it. When we lost Rooney and Lescott they were far from experienced Internationals. Agree that we need to freshen up the squad but your arguement for our poor starts is rubbish.

Food for thought, will moyes buy a left back n play baines on the wing?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

No, Baines plays as good as he does because he does good overlapping runs, at LW/LM he wouldn't be as affective...

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines isn't lightning quick or amazingly tricky on the ball. He's a really intelligent player with good technique.

His skill is in timing his overlapping runs perfectly, to find the space, so he can make the most of his crossing and passing ability.

I'm not sure he'd be as good on the left wing, where he'd be picked up and have to beat the right back more often, rather than just run in to space, on the overlap.

I wouldn't mind seeing him played there for a game or two, to see how he does though.

*whiteshadow*

Agree0 Disagree0

He has played there 2 or 3 times a few seasons back and was not as effective mind you he was not playing great at the time. Needs to stay at left back so he has the space to run on to the ball.

sometimes no matter how well you play or what you do you can lose a game of football. We didn't deserve to lose on Sat, another day we could easily of won or drawn. But we didn't.Sure, tactics and formations didn't help to maximise our possibility of winning but somedays things go your way and others they don't.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

We were unlucky on saturday, but the fact is we could do with a striker before the window ends to put our chances away. I hope velois gets a game tonight.

Barkley 17, Coleman 22, Gueye 21, Rodwell 20, Fellaini 22, Vellios 19, Bilyaletdinov 22.
These 7 lads will be regulars in the side in the next 12 months and with players like Osman, Cahill, Arteta, Howard,

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Billy's 26 mate and i just can see him being a regular in the future but i do believe in the other young lads

Agree0 Disagree0

We do have a good blend of youngsters and experience. I am confident things will be right on the pitch shortly, hopefully starting with a confidence building win tonight

Agree0 Disagree0

Bily is 26...

I would sell fellaini if he doesn't sign this contract, he only has 1 year left, we are going to lose value like we did with peanuts.
The future is still good....... RM Coleman, CM Rodwell, CM Barkley, LM Gueye..... Great young midfielder's with the mix of experienced lads like Osman, Cahill and Arteta, also i know he has his doubts but Bilyaletdinov still only 22 himself still might improve his all round game because we know he has potential

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Bily is 24/25 mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Felli has 2 years left... Get your facts right.

I think even though moyes has said we will not sign anyone, i really think IF yobo finally goes before this window is out, we will see a striker on loan..... Moyes said himself after the QPR game "no one should be suprised that we were poor in the final third because we have been saying for one or two years now that we need strikers and wide players"
So he surely knows that if we don't get any wide players or strikers we will be struggling for goals all season

Can't see what all the fuss is about using Cahill in 4-5-1 tbh or a 4-4-1-1 [whatever you want to call it] let's face it, if he stays fit for the season, would you be surprised if he banged in 15-20 goals? No, I wouldn't be either.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

24 Aug 2011 12:05:40
I want a win to prove that game against QPR was a one off and to show that we CAN start a season strong.
2-0 to the Blues. Vic to score (miracle), and someone else to score off a Baines cross. The victory rubs off on us for the Blackburn match.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

We need a confidence boosting win he can't afford to play a weakened team so, full strength with whats available

We have been linked with the versatile winger Patrick van Aanholt. Might be a good shout if we can offload yak and yobo.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

3 loan spells in his career already. Sounds good. Get him in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Moyles, sign him up

Agree0 Disagree0

He isn't a winger he is a left back.

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember posting last summer that we should have got him in on loan. He's pretty handy anyway, worth a wishful punt We certainly need cover

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a LB but he's "VERSATILE" which means he probably could be cover for Baines and play LW.

Agree0 Disagree0

He is a left back. He was on loan to Leicester last year and he was s**te for them

Just wondering weather the fans would rather see the likes of Duffy, Garbutt, Vellios, over Heitinga, Billy, Yak amongst others?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I hope we play some of the youngsters tonight they deserve a run out. I hope velios plays, he looked decent in the glimpses i saw last season

We have got to come to terms with it but nobody is coming in this window. Someone may leave. So need for any more posts about this player or that player we cant afford any one, Mr Moyes more or less hinted that earlier SSN. Its been horrible waiting all summer for a singing or 2 but now its time to believe nothing is going to happen sorry. With current set up we will be lucky to make top ten. All the same must get behind the team and force the board to sell and quick or the next couple of windows will be the same. Dont mean to upset anyone just got to be realistic. COYB.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Totally agree. Haven't got a pot to pxss in and just have to get on with it. These are the harsh realities of being a blue. (Wavetree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't last week performance was due to lack of signing or lack of talent. It was more of a lack of focus in the early part of every season that we are so famous for

Agree0 Disagree0

Definately agree seems to me some Evertonians have got selective hearing We been told by Kenwright and Moyes we not got any cash and yet we some fans still seem to cling to the very last second of the window, even a day after the window thinking we may have some one Madness we our not gonna sign no one or loan them

Agree0 Disagree0

For strikers we are shorter than usual tonight. Beckford injured and Moyes is 'unsure' about Saha's fitness - shocker.
I'd say play Vellios, and maybe Yak?
Anichebe is bound to play.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

How about....
mucha
hibbo jags distin baines
felli
arteta barkley ossie
vellios the yak

3-1 to the blues

Agree0 Disagree0

How about Mucha
Hibbo, hietinga, distin, baines
osman, fellaini, rodwell, barkley
baxter
velios

Agree0 Disagree0

We'll use a decent formation and tonk them.
Then we'll switch back to the 4-4-1-1 with Cahill norm and lose to Blackburn.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the least bit bothered how we play , just praying Everton are in the draw for the 3rd round of the carling cup . Some sexy football and loads of goals would be great all the same .

Agree0 Disagree0

Bringing my lad across from sunny Sheffield. He is so looking forward to it that I haven't dared tell him how crap we played on Saturday. He also wants to wear his Blades shorts with his Everton top - where did I go wrong? At least he wins whatever the result.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes should play Vellios and Yak. Looks like he's too stubborn to play Yak though. Not that I know what goes on behind closed doors but the general consensus is that Yak and Moyes have fallen out. Bury the hatchet Davey. {Ed025's Note - yes bury thee hatchet...right in his f.........

Ex blue Lucas Neil has joined reigning United Arab Emirates champions Al Jazira

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Good luck to him. He was boss for us in his short stint here.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't rate him until he came to us and did a damn good job. Fair play to him.

With Cahill, Saha and Beckford looking like there out i can see moyes playing this
Howard
Neville
Jagielka
Distin
Baines

Barkley
Fellaini
Heitinga
Arteta

Osman

Anichebe

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Barkley should start after his impressive display on saturday and anichebe needs a run out and hopefully a goal to improve his confidence, i hope arteta will get to 100% fitness soon as we need him firing this season
