Badge 1 for me, old fashioned, traditional and reminds me of the days when we were one of the big five clubs in this country. with the predator up front we could well be the number one club this year. We must set 'the bar high' as for too long under Moyes the unacceptable (top ten finish) has been accepted, I maybe wrong but who have we to fear?
Even under Moyes we beat City!
Just for one year let's go out and get one over the rich clubs
NIL SATIS!

That's what I voted for anyway.

Falling more and more in love with Martinez everytime he speaks about our great club and he chose badge number 1 the 1 I want aswell the man is bursting with freshness just what we needed COYB IMWT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'll be the first to admit it, I was a bit skeptical when Martinez first got the job, but boy has he made me think twice so far. After his very first interview along side Bill he just appeared to me to have a certain demeanor about him, and he just looked like he knew exactly what is needed to be achieved at Everton and what the fans expected of him. I know we haven't been stellar every game that we've played but with a new manager you have to give him time to introduce his footballing philosophy, and I have no doubt that within 3-4 months we will be playing magnificent football. I've also been really impressed with his enthusiasm for the game, he could probably tell you every little detail about any given player, he's that keyed up on the game. Anyway, enough about my lust for Martinez.

BitterBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

He strikes me as a man who just GETS Everton, something moyes never did, IMO. I think he senses that it's a special place, rich in history and tradition and feels he can do great things given the necessary tools, and I certainly hope he succeeds and plays some great stuff along the way. This could be the start of something special.

Iwasnt aware have to wait 4 games I know he couldn't play against his parent club thanks for educating me

What as deadline day got to do with it he's our player for the season except against chelsea tom efc

I can think of several players werve signed on deadline day and started right away.

I may be wrong but in reality has anyone left Everton and gone on to do better in the modern era? Rooney has but I still think his most electric performances came for club and country at Everton but he had won plenty of medals in fairness.
Point is, is our grass the greenest? Why does nobody leave and do better?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I suppose you could have an argument for Arteta, I mean he's played Champions League football every season since he's been at Arsenal which is what he went for. Though I can see where you're coming from Svenny, there have been a lot more sob stories of Everton players that have moved on than success stories.

BitterBlue

lescott won the league. rooney by far. yes he played well for england while at everton. but he played well for sven. no other england manager has got him near that level since. do you not remember his first 6 months of 2010 for utd. unplayable. john ruddy too

Agree0 Disagree0

Lescott won a league title yes but in terms of his personal development as a player he is now a bench warmer, and not in the England side. Ruddy has done ok yes that is a good shout. Arteta does play Champions League that's true but he has hardly progressed or reached heights of his Everton days.
There is no real point i'm trying to make it does just seem that maybe our grass is the greenest despite how it may look sometimes to the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Marco matterazi went on to win the champions league!

I've just submitted my vote on the new badge. I chose the 1st one - it has all the necessary elements. The 2nd one got ruled out first by me - missing the wreaths. And the 3rd one was tough to say no to as it has everything like the 1st one, but I prefer the old one (2000-2013), so the 1st one is the closest to that.

It'd be nice to have a complete change in the shape, what with us being in a new era, but I'm a person who loves the old badge so it'd be hard to say bye to it.

Just wondering, what did everyone else vote?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Same as you Keith

Toffee ace {Ed025s Note - first one for me as well..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea I voted for the first one as well, I pretty much chose it on the same principles as you Keith.

Agree0 Disagree0

The 1st one for me kieth mate its looking promising aswell. LIAM!

Agree0 Disagree0

I've just voted for A as well, it has everything required.

Agree0 Disagree0

A for me, too. Looks the most traditional to me and that's what I wanted.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep first one for me too quite like no 3 aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

It's definitely between 1 and 3, I quite like 3 though, has a modern edge, and think it says we're a whole new proposition now, new badge, new brand of football.

Agree0 Disagree0

The new one - that's getting binned - is the best of all four - they should have kept as an option - a lot of people like it now (I didn't like it at first but now I do)

Agree0 Disagree0

Crest A for me, the best of a bad bunch, the least crap, so wins by default.
Granville.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we stop going on about badges. I thought this was a site for adults. tom efc

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you doing on here then tom? I think you'll find the vast majority have an interest in the badge, because you don't makes it less important or irrelevant? If you're not concerned about it, fine but to actively attempt to suppress and stifle debate by implying it's childish and/or infantile is ridiculous.

Its all about B init bruvs. Gold symbolises número UNO. Nil satis nisi optimum, that's what we stand for. If you wanna be the best you got to get the gold. I like gold because it doesn't rust and is an excellent conductor or electricity. I live up in the mountains you see. It rains a lot up here so I have gold wiring to connect the outside generater to my log cabin. So yeah gold got to be on the badge boys, ya get me. {Ed025's Note - why do i keep thinking about chewing tobacco and the sound of duelling banjos when i read this?.. :)

I hope I don't get accused of being a fantasist for saying this but I do think that in lukaku we have didier drogba up front & in Ross Barkley we have a player of the stature of Wayne Rooney/Gascogne (in his prime). I think we can therefore assume with confidence that we will finish high up the table this season.well done to roberto for assembling such a capable team in such a short space of time with sufficient cover in most positions!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would try and buy him by telling them thy will get 1strefusal onbarcley if we decide to sell there's no coincidence why all these clubs are being kind to us barcelona man city chelsea. he's the reason tom efc

Through loaning us Lukaku I wouldn't be suprised if they have a first refusal on barkley already. It's not the sort of thing that's shouted from the roof tops.

Am I the only one furious about the three badge options? They are changing the badge because it kept being 'misrepresented'.

The first option looks like how I imagine it was misrepresented. It's in no way simpler than the old one, just 10 times uglier. Plus (I'm a graphic designer) it is one solid colour for the background - that is a very amateur mistake. Look at the professional and aesthetically pleasing badges in the league: Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool, West Ham, Our old one. Their main colours all have a gradient (change in colour). Look at the cheap looking ones: Hull, Fulham, Villa, our new one: Solid colour.

The second badge is just the current one with the Motto awkwardly shoved in at the bottom, thus distorting the rest of it and making it look awful.

The third one looks like the Oldham badge is just c**p. It's not Everton.

Their justification for changing it was that it was too complicated and needed to be simplified to prevent it from being misrepresented, so why are the options just as complicated as the old one?! JUST CHANGE IT BACK TO THE OLD BADGE YOU FOOLS.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who really cares. I'm more interested in what we do on the pitch

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously ab. Some people are never going to be happy with what are club does. And you mate are one of them. For the record can I just say well done edc and Alan Myers for listening and giving us a say and a choice. LIAM!

Agree0 Disagree0

EFC sorry. LIAM!

Agree0 Disagree0

Who really cares it's only a badge? Shall we play in red after all it's only a kit?

Agree0 Disagree0

I am often very happy with what the club does, I just cannot understand at all why in earth they have done this.

Wondered what Ed's and blues feel about the following. I am getting paranoid or is this a prophecy.

Baines left Goodison hours after the West Brom game visibly upset (transfer window was still open). Apparently Stubbs subsequently claims he requested permission to talk to MU.

Then when Martinez was asked about Leighton's contract this weekend there was nothing to discuss with regards to improved terms.

Clearly keeping him, is high up on BK's list, especially after another thoroughly professional display capped by two great free kicks (reminds me of the 80's and Sheed's)

As things are developing nicely to lose Baines would leave me in bits. Roberto Carlos eat your heart out!

Paddock Neil {Ed025's Note - the thing is neil, players come and go, its just a fact of life mate, but what i will say, is a move to united really that big a step up?....i honestly dont think so..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why would he want to go to a strugling midd table club who are only going backwards under a second rate manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

At the end of the day he is a great player and gives 100% on the pitch. However, if he wants to go elsewhere there is little we can do about it.

Force him to see out his contract and let him go on a free in a couple of years or get what we can for him in January and buy a quality replacement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paddock Neil: there's more of "profit" than "prophecy" about Baines's situation. Every player has a valuation and if another club meets it then serious transfer negotiations can begin. Apparently our valuation of Baines (unlike that of Fellaini or Anichebe) wasn't met. Simples. :-)

After seeing the three choices on the new crest my preference would be to put the gold outline from number 2 onto number 1. That would for me be both traditional and digital friendly.

What do other blues/Ed think

COYB
Toffee ace {Ed025's Note - its not mix"n"match ace...just one pick mate :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Number 2 for me.like the yellow outline and the NSNO inside the badge instead of the scroll.
No3 looks like a knights shield

I'll pick the first one then Ed, and colour it in myself ;-)

Three new crests on Twitter.and they're not to hot boys and girls. Number 1 but still a bit crap. I feel the club has missed a great opportunity and releasing these poor badges is unfortunately typical Everton. At least we seem to be getting it right on the pitch. Here is a link to the crest. Let me no what you think.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't get you saying badge A is crap. it's basically the same as the old one but with 1878inside the badge along with Everton. other than it is the same. therefore badge A gets my vote. Badge B is average. and I don't like C much at all. but the whole point of this vote is that every everton fan will have a vote and therefore everyone's opinion is taken on board.

The first 2 badges still look to big. I'm liking option C as its more modern, will need a few days viewing before voting though.

how refreshing it was to see us make changes at half time instead of waiting until the 60+ mins, had my doubts about roberto at first.but still unbeaten after 5 games, hope we can keep it up.maybe kenwright and roberto was right about us getting champions league.coyb

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The common denominator in Moyes tactics at Everton that kept us round about 6, 7, 8 in the Prem and now his keeping Utd round about 6, 7 and 8 is Mr S Round. I admit I was sorry to see Moyes go but if it mean't Mr Round going with him then it was worth it. I also have to admit that Martinez is probably based on this 5 games a better tactician.

Interested to see the 3 different Crests released by the Club today. For me the first crest is traditional and very similar to the 2000-2012 crest and so will garner a lot of votes. The 2nd crest is similar to our current crest although *gasp with ensuing shock and horror* I actually prefer the current crest to crest 2. Crest 3 is my personal favorite as it is modern but also includes the elements referring to our clubs proud history. It has cleaner lines than the others, and with a bit of amber would pop off the page (see the sightings page) Imo 3 is the best one for the club to progress with, realistically though #1 will be chosen.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My preference would be the 3rd one as well, but to be honest, it wouldn't really bother me too much what one was chosen just as long as it has Everton and NSNO on it then that's fine by me.

BitterBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Dammit, thought I was logged in when I posted this. Oh well.
As an aside when talking to my friend who works in marketing when I asked her opinion on the 3 crests, she preferred either the 1st or the 3rd, the 1st because of the history behind it with the scrolls ( no football knowledge) and the 3rd because it was sleek and modern but had still a sense of history. She did think that just the blue and white was a bit 2 dimensional and thought it needed a bit of amber.

I just love a bit of schadenfreude, so here goes.
Moyes must feel like he's just been in a gunfight armed with a knife. lmfao

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just had a sneaky peek at their banter page.they aren't happy bunny's are the.god almighty, they got moyes and fellaini, what more do they want.we got Martinez and Lukaku amongst others so i'm happy. Good feeling bout finishing above the mancs end of season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its noticeable already how much MU resemble Moyes EFC in playing style, but I do eventually believe they will get it right. Rooney needs to get as far away from them as possible though.

However, for me the big difference appears to be Martinez's willingness to change things if there not working.

May not get the desired results all the time, but its great having a manager that is not scared to make these decisions. Or maybe its the options we now have that enable this. Either way superb second half display boys.

PS Hope Delofelou / Stones get a run Tuesday
