Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

All the anti Moyes talk about disrespect etc makes me think of a similar situation that is developing right now.
Everyone knows Utd are in for Baines. Everyone knows Baines has less than 2 years on his contract and according to the club is not yet being offered a new one. (I suspect he has told the club not to bother offering one because he will not sign one). I also suspect that come January, Utd will come in with an improved offer for him and we will either accept it or Baines will hand in an official transfer request and he will be sold in similar fashion to Arteta.
Will all our supporters then turn against Baines and accuse him of being disloyal etc? This being after everyone has said how loyal he is etc. I can only repeat that being a professional footballer is a job. When a more successful competitor comes in for you offering more money and better opportunities, you usually consider them. Hopefully Utd's problems will continue and Baines will have a rethink. However I suspect Utd will improve and make some big money signings as usual and Baines will be off.

That may be the case Degsy but to insult and disrespect your employers after leaving leaves a bitter taste.
Somehow, if Baines does leave, I can't see him belittling at all us as our former manager has.
Moyes has conveniently forgotten that were it not for the opportunity Everton afforded him, and he was paid handsomely in the process, for winning sod all and job security for life, he wouldn't be in a position to insult us. He'd be scratching around for jobs like C Palace if Bill had any cojones.

I was surprised by the warm send off Moyes was given but understood others felt differently than I did. Now however the facts and other peoples recollection of events show that Moyes actively lied about the manner of his leaving. The man does not have a good word to say about us and has actively sought to undermine Martinez. I have no time for Moyes, his name is never mentioned in our house he will never join the list of players and managers who have found a permenant place in Goodison folklore.

Degsypulford again. what is Moyes supposed to have said to belittle us and insult us? (genuine question) I have heard a few comments from others and I know he said something about Everton holding back the careers of Felli and Baines, but that is just wrong. and not really belittling us. Until Manchester United offer the correct money (as per Felli eventually) then Baines moves nowhere until his contract runs out. I hear that Sir Alex F is making claims but please tell me what is Moyes supposed to have actually said? I didn't hear the interviews.

Utd where after Baines all summer, did he ask for a transfer no .arteta went last day of window .baines had 3 months to manovere a move if he was dead set on going .i havnt heard one direct quote saying he wants to go .heard many saying he likes Martinez style of play .you don't know what's happening concerning a new contract it could be announced any time, .as for moyes if u say certain things u need to own them, he clearly knew that ferguson wanted him for to replace him by march, is it a betrayal, its debatable, what else could he have done, but the contempt and arrogance towards everton since his departure has shown him in a lesser light, and any goodwill towards him has rightly gone .i never thought I'd want liverpool to beat utd but like many blues this season I did .baines will sign a new contract and moyes will get slaughted at goodison .

Agree0 Disagree0

If I was everton manager and ferguson came in for Baines and Felliani, I wouldn't stand in their way .uderstand that if ferguson came in for gerrard and Suarez or he wanted augero and silva Rodgers and Mancini would have felt the same .degsy moyes has always preached about respect and doing the things the right way and there is a right way .his contempt and disregard for everton since his departure has made him look like an arrogant hypocrite .

Agree0 Disagree0

Delay. It is possible to leave a club and act with more class than Moyes did with us.

Brenda Rogers left Swansea after securing a lucrative buy out clause for Swansea. He was there for less than 3 years. Moyes was with us for 11 and slyly ensured we had nothing from him or his new employer.
What an indictment that the longest serving manager we have had can't find a way to leave this club with our blessing.
When he looks back on his career in years to come I imagine that will be one of his regrets.
As for a repeat performance from Baines. Can't see it myself

Toffee ace.

Granville. "Insult us".? Only if you're exceptionally sensitive / desperate for a bit of drama.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would I be desperate for a bit of drama, and, no, I'm not overly sensitive. If you can't see the disrespect and insults he's hurled since he's left then that's really not my problem.

Agree0 Disagree0

I didn't take part in the Moyes love in at the West Ham game, now I've been proved right, I was saying in January he was stitching us up. BK should now come out and admit the his 'special' relationship was in one direction only, and that due to the contempt Moyes has shown for Everton, Evertonians and himself, he will not deal with him in future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems there are quite a few 'sensitive' Evertonians here and elsewhere who feel moyes has treated us with contempt. Are they all desperate for a bit of drama?
Whilst your laissez faire attitude is admirable, Loggins, most aren't quite so tolerant of their beloved toffees being insulted with impunity by some arrogant, overrated no mark!

Ian Snodin says he thought Everton overpaid for McCarthy but now admits he was wrong. My sentiments exactly from what I have seen. All the indications are that he will get better and better. I know the ex Ireland manager had very high hopes for him and said he had the potential to emulate Roy Keane. let's hope we have unearthed another absolute gem.
Degsypulford

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Unearthed a gem? He has always been a good player since joining Wigan

Agree0 Disagree0

But to be honest, the games I saw him in last season, he didn't play particularly well. I didn't see him dominate midfields to the point Wigan were on top in many games. But, I think he has played well for us so far this season.
If you rated him at 13 million last season, you saw something that I didn't. I have been known to get the odd one wrong though.
Degsypulford

Agree0 Disagree0

I liked him after he ripped up to shreds in fa cup - he was at it from the whistle - unlike strolling felli and Osman {Ed007's Note - I have been telling Man Utd fans for 3 years that Utd should have been trying to sign McCarthy, I have watched him since he was about 13/14 at Hamilton Accies. I said on here that you had signed a top-class player when he joined Everton. If anyone wants to prise him away from Everton will need to pay about double the amount Everton did. Just like Degsy though I do get the odd one wrong, I though Naismith would have been a more successful signing for you and would prove to be a better buy than Jelavic in the long term. I knew Jelavic's form would slip away, it always does with him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Ed, McCarthy would be very good for United, and I also remember you on Jelavic when he just signed/was firing for us - you were spot on. I actually think Naismith is decent, but obviously I'd rather he was a squad player rather than a regular starter (which he's not). Any transfer info? {Ed007's Note - Sorry buddy, the only thing Everton related I know of is that Izaguirre has been regularly watched by Everton and has been pinpointed as a possible replacement if Baines leaves.}

Agree0 Disagree0

And Degsypulford again.that is exactly the point I was trying to make. McCarthy now looks class to me. Would fit in the Utd team 5 X easier than Felli. I thank God every night now that we let Felli go, signed McCarthy for half the fee and still have some dosh left for Jan when I hope we sign a footballing center half who will slot in next to Jags and will play out from the back in similar fashion to what RM obviously wants.

Slightly old news maybe but the echo are saying The are going to offer £15M plus Valencia for Baines in January. Would anyone take that? Assuming LB says he wants to leave then I would take that.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No thanks, we'd be doing them a massive favour taking Valencia off their hands.
Baines has to be worth £20m at least, Valencia isn't worth more than £2m at most and isn't good enough for us.
If have Kagawa or Hernandez though and £5-10m.

Agree0 Disagree0

Valencia for me is a one trick pony.
not for me. would take Evra and 20 million.

He ain't doing too bad against sociedad tonight. I don't have a problem with him. He's disciplined at getting back and constantly bombs forward to get balls in the box. I know we hate Utd now and all that, but have a bit of common sense when talking about their multiple league winning players.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think 8-10 mil plus kagawa would be a solid deal, although I doubt that would ever happen

Sir Alex has absolutely crucified our red neighbours. Love him or hate him, it's a quality read. Literally, every aspect of their club he mocks and highlights as basically being a joke. The best thing is every word he says is true on all the points. They don't have a leg to stand on.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

To be honest mate I like having a bit of banter with the red's, Fergie told Moyes to leave us as were not a big club yes he slagged of Liverpool but why do you get a kick out of that and to be honest Fergie ran down everybody he is a self obsessed clown that thinks everybody should bow down to him I would put our neighbour's ahead of Manchester United any day there a bunch of sneaky ****s and i'm glad that their so called empire is falling apart I really hope they collapse.Their fan's are arrogant aswell I would rather have a drink with an LFC fan anyday than one of them oh times are changing and believe me they will fall hard.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fergy is a disgrace to say to moyse don't sign the contract with everton and moyse is as bad for telling fergy everton were pressing him to sign a new deal this all stinks as a blatant move by both moyse and fergy for moyse take over at Man United i'm telling you this like it or not moyse new full well he would be next united manager that was agreed between him and fergy months befor it was a done deal and to believe anything different you must have you heads up your asses they took everton for right mugs as no compo was payed for a blatant tapping up behind closed doors both of them stitched everton up bigtime as for doing deals in future over players everton will be a disgrace to football

Agree0 Disagree0

It's man Utd, the biggest team in the country. Why wouldn't he want to manage them? We need to remember where we are a bit I think. It does stink but it's not like he's left for a useless club. It's one of the biggest in the world

Agree0 Disagree0

It might have been, but it's not any more mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think the fact he left us for Manchester United is the problem. The way he went about it and his subsequent disrespect is what irks most people.

Not really everton related more an observation but when Moyes left I had seen Neil Lennon linked to our job. Like many others, I was totally against it and pretty cutting about his managerial abilities. I watched their game tonight having watched them against Barca. couldn't be more wrong. What that guy is doing up there is nothing short of remarkable. I'm v happy with Roberto but feel foolish for my narrow minded views on Lennon. {Ed007's Note - As a Celtic supporter that is appreciated mate. Yes we all know that every EPL team gets more money or is richer because of TV money, we hear it every day BUT there are clubs who would love to be in our position and there are constant CL level clubs that would love to have our record in the competition, 16 wins at home out of 23 matches, only Barca and Juventus have beat us in Glasgow during that run, throw in the fact how hard it is to entice players to Scotland and it just shows what a good job Lennon and the board are doing. Neither of those are perfect examples of their jobs by a long shot and NL can do and say some silly things but he seems be cementing our place as a recognised CL team who nobody enjoys having to play.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm visiting family up in Glasgow right now, and the general consensus from the few Celtic fans I've spoken to is that he is very good. Not sure he'd be able to handle the Prem or that what he is doing is remarkable, but the unfounded criticism of him when he was linked to the job was unjustified. He would excel at Championship level and probably do well with a bottom half team, in my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a big fan of Scottish football. I grew up in the in the mid to late 90s and always loved watching the SPL highlights show each week on Sky. Andreas Thom was my favourite player and the games were always just good to watch. I saw Inverness play Partick the other day and some of the football on show was excellent. There's a misconception about Scottish football, mainly because people don't watch it and assume its bad. It's not, there is quality there. As for Celtic, biggest compliment I can give them is that on a champions league night they are who I watch and cheer for. With a squad of 'championship' players (apparently), they don't do to badly against the worlds elite! I think back to us at Benfica. Don't see that happen to Celtic very often. I also think Fraser Forster is one of the best keepers I have ever seen. Period. If he is on form, he looks unbeatable. He has the agility to match his height which you very rarely see for a man so tall.
