What was the point in buying joa silva he either goes out on loan or doesn't get played waste of money {Ed025's Note - while he is out on loan, he is saving us money, he is also getting valuable experience, moyes must think he is not ready for the first team squad yet..

Bold team selection, great result and by the sound of it a decent performance. What a relief. {Ed025's Note - well.....great result..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Im just glad of them 3 points because this run of tough games doesnt end for a couple of weeks yet .

COYB . {Ed025's Note - we are all thankful mate, lets hope this is not just a flash in the pan..

Think this will get shot down but this Indian takeover starting to sound real a team of top brass out in India nsno also running this story now !! {Ed025's Note - that sounds about right...cowboys meeting indians...

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Can anyone explain this takeover s**t? havent heard this one before. {Ed025's Note - its like the battle of the little big horn....our team of cowboys are having a pow wow with some indians...apparently..

Well done blues, massive 3 points for us today! Lets hope we can put a few results together now and move on back up the table. And well done the blue half of Manchester too! Great result for you boys!

A crucial 3 points and surely proof that drenthe should be a regular starter. Its nice to see the lads gets a few goals and hopefully rodwells goal will further boost his confidence for the season ahead

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - lets hope we kick on now bez, we caught them at a good time...for me though we still need to be more attack minded and positive, if we want to keep hold of drenthe and fellaini we need to finidh top 10!..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Surely we must get better ed, our performances have been a let down so far. It is hard to believe that we finished last season so well by beating chelsea and city!! Do you think we can get top 8 ed?

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - we have the players bez!...but moyes has got to show more belief in them!...for me barkley should start more, and we need to play with a bit more flair and imagination...if we do, then yes, top 8 is realistic..

Don't want Moyes to start with Velious, Vellious, Velios or Vellos. Would like him to start with VELLIOS though. Get a grip lads! {Ed025's Note - its only a name mate...chill out.....good job they dont try to spell his first name!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Apostolos Vellios, whats so hard about that?

Important win for Everton, needed the 3pts and got it with a bit of help from Zamora. Overall poor performance from the lads but Drenthe is absolute class, another brilliant signing by Moyes, 1st start MoM and a screamer of a goal, what more could you ask for? {Ed025's Note - him to have been in from the start?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

The left side of our team is a real problem. Drenthe is much better on the right as is Bily. Coleman, Osman and Anichebe are all ineffectual on that side. Sad but true that Mc Fadden might be a short term answer. {Ed025's Note - in my opinion....i would sooner play with 10 men , than play mcfadden..

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Stupid post Ed not like you, McFadden has something to prove and I hope he does. I would rather have him on the left than Bily or Anichibe {Ed025's Note - i just think its a backward step, he was not good enough first time, what makes people think he has improved? it is pure frustration on my part, im afraid the negative way we have been playing has taken its toll on me, at the moment i feel like the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off!, if things improve so will my demeanor, but i am not a happy bunny at the moment

Drenthe was spectacular today. His goal was great, his strength was great. When we put him on the left he quieted a bit, but I think it's partially because he needs to work out his relationship with Baines. {Ed025's Note - he is quality mate...if we do ok this season, i think he will stay..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

23 Oct 2011 20:20:19
Honestly drenthe is pure class, best player on the pitch, outstanding goal and we should definetly sighn him up for good in January.

Blue Kaz {Ed025's Note - it makes you wonder why he did not start earlier?..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I'd put it down to fitness ed, he never had a pre-season, so probably needed to work that bit extra in training

Agree2 Disagree0

It would have to be fitness. and moyes also wouldnt have seen a lot of him before anyway. its easy to make a good 5 or 10 minutes impact coming off the bench when youre lightning fast like drenthe, but he did prove himself to be a starter for us. well done drenthe and well done moyes

Agree1 Disagree0

Everyones raving about Drenthe, he was very good for the first 20 minutes then he was invisible faded out of the game after that. Before people get on here and accuse me of being a red I am a blue for over 30 years.Hope he goes on to fulfil the potential he showed a few years back. Great goal but must do a lot more before I would call him class. COYB.

The perfotmance wasnt quite there today but the points were more important! Finally started with drenthe (goal of the season contender already) and vellious! Unfortunately it was the same formation just different players but its a move in the right direction! Hope moyes dosent revert back to same old team against utd! Drenthe is a must start again and vellious but with a strike partner! Utd are going to be on the charge to make up for there ass kicking today so they will be attacking and leaving gaps for us to exploit! Its a winnable game but we have to play it right and with the right players! Get a good result midweek and take the momentum into the utd game! Well done today boys just need to finish games off a tad bit earlier waiting till the 90th minute is not good for my heart! {Ed025's Note - good post that mate...i agree with all of it..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

If Moyes plays 2 up front at Old Trafford, I'll eat my iPhone! {Ed025's Note - its at goodison mate....but give me a bite anyway..

Agree1 Disagree0

We definitely need to play with 2 up top and take full advantage of the big hole in their cb position now that johnny evans is banned aswell as vidic being injured. They can't rely on ferdinand now that he's old and slow so vellios and saha should be able to pounce!

Sometimes you've got to just forget your troubles and enjoy the moment. Great result and made up for Moyesy and the lads. Happy days...COYB!!! (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - is a great result...but we need more results like that to get the confidence level up, plus it was a far better set up today keep listening david..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Drenthe looks class. Problem is if he keeps improving, can we keep hold of him? That will always be our conundrum until we can finally get the financial shxt sorted. (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - a lot will depend on how we do this season wavo...if we do well and progress up the league drenth and fellani might just stay, but they will want away if we play boring negative football like we have up to now, lets hope today is a springboard to something better..

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus I'm such a typical blue...doesn't take long for me to start feeling all negative again. (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - you and me both wavo!, but at least today was a better set up...COYB..

Agree0 Disagree0

Same set up just different players! Velious looked lost on his up top! He needs saha up there with him! But great result need performances to improve now and we will shoot up that tble :-) {Ed025's Note - lets hope so mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

We have first refusal on drenthe, and will be able to get him on a free

Agree0 Disagree0

We've suffered in midfield for a while, not due to a lack of talent, but due to players being too lightweight. Drenthe is like a bull, pure pace and power. Gotta keep hold of him. (Wavertree Blue) {Ed025's Note - i agree wavo...when i look at osman i think good player, but dont want him in a battle, drenthe on the other hand would run through a brick wall, i also think felli and rodders are too much of a muchness, and would like to see a bit more pace in the midfield.

3-1 woohoo {Ed025's Note - praise the lord!...starting with drenth and vellios we have wanted that all season, lets hope we kick on from here COYB

Believable2 Unbelievable0

You cant honestly claim the vellios call can you ed? if we had cahill up there we would have nailed a couple extras for 5-1. but we asked for it and moyes gave it to us, we know he has talent but isnt ready to start alone up front for us just yet. {Ed025's Note - one game mate!...give the guy a bit of a run, for me tim is better coming off the bench anyway!..

I'm liking the look of our starting 11 today, except Neville in midfield. Same system, different personnel, let's see what happens eh?

Moyes has already hinted that Vellios will not start... Oh dear. He's gonna play the usual, boring, defensive rubbish isn't he? {Ed025's Note - i hope not!, lots of the supporters are losing faith in the moyesiah, and rightfully so!...if we lose today, and against man-utd next week we will probably be in the relegation zone, and the faithful will be calling for his head...its time for him to shape up..or ship out!..
