Well the season is just about over and it's definatrly one to forget, out of both domestic cups at the first time of asking and an eventual thrashing in Europe(tho the journey up to then was fun).

Where to from here, I will hold my hands up and say I was calling for Bobbies head a couple months ago, but in fairness he kept us quite safe in the league ( we should never have been in that position in the first place). I'm willing to real back in my judgement and hope we learn from our mistakes. These mistakes go all the way back to last summer and our awful pre season, we never quite recovered, we had Bobby stating after 3 games that the players were not fit. We can't blame injuries, but rushing players back has got to stop too, we
need to add a quality CB, and a magician in midfield to
open defences up, anything else is a bonus.

Our tactics and approach to games have to change too, look what happened against United when we altered our approach!! We need to be flexible and have a plan B, but most of all we need to inject pace into our game and cut out schoolboy errors! So I'm looking forward to the summer and the blank slate and excitement of a new season!

Remember we've had an awful season, played some shocking football but we still have a fantastic squad, we simply can't do any worse next year, Spurs, Southampton and Liverpool have all had 'sucessful' seasons but they are all less than 5 league wins ahead of us!! I can certainly remember at least 5 games we threw away!!

So I'm going to jus try an erase this season from memory and hope Bobby gets it right in the summer. But how long do we give him next season, I hope if after 12 games if it's gone sideways again that someone in our club has the bottle to not stand by and just watch!!

Liked this post Kurajan mate ,

The bits about plan 'b' and flexibility etc. very close to my own heart.

As for Bullsh*tBob, well if we haven't got the above mentioned and getting results against all and sundry by Nov. then we should make a strong demand for his departure imo.

Some good points made by all there. I would add that there was obviously a big distraction after about 10 games where Distin and Eto'o disrupted the dressing room and for those 11 games we went without a win, we played the most negative depressing football. Confidence drained from the squad and RM did very well to turn it round. Although he is not my choice as manager, I will support him until his position changes. I know I upset some posters on here at times going on about Osman, squad age and a few other points, but when I see great clubs like Newcastle suffering with heir fans turning on the manager and board it makes me shiver. I am so glad we seem to be able to support our club when the chips are down. I guess we have all got used to it!

Everton will not jeopardise the club's long-term financial stability to build a new stadium on Walton Hall Park.

Why are we not surprised, the money that we have wasted on new grounds, WTF, KenWrong if you love our club, please go.

You have to look for investment whoever you are. people saying the board won't spend a penny of their own money into the club, well considering we are no Man city or a Chelsea, I think we've been backed as much as is possible for the size of club we are, Lukaku £30 mil for one.But who in their right mind would throw their own money on a non profit making football club, makes no sense however much u love the team. So of course you got to look for investment its the only way. Investment in EFC is difficul, history is all we got! No trophy for 20 years, limited in Europe, Old ground, The City itself struggles for investment, our overseas support is nothing compared to reds sadly, Middle table team, Why throw your money away on that. We will struggle to find investment as has been shown in the last 2 attempts at a new Stadium.

{Ed025's Note - i dont like to agree with that howie but i do, very fair post mate..

Agreed on almost all of your points Howie, bar one. The board didn't have to finance too much of the Rom deal, they just used added a little bit to what we received from selling Felli to the mancs

But that's what I said, when I put, 'for the size of club we are '. At least they wheel n deal to keep our spending at a rate we can get like for like or better players.
