Just one example (there are so many more) of crappy
prss liks to our new manager
Saturday April 14, 2012
Celtic manager Neil Lennon believes he can bring the Scottish champions a Champions League title nearly 50 years after the 'Lisbon Lions' won the European Cup.
And we as EFC supporters allow the gutter press in this country to link this guy (and the other lot) to us because of the inept a totally shambolic, amateurish baffoons in in charge of EFC.
God it's a good job we had me Dad cremated because he would be turning. !
And before you post 'Ah thet's not Everton's fault' yes it is, Moyes goes. Bang new man in within 48 hours. Good God there's only three in frame. And one's not a pie eater!

Kenrgiht we now getting bored with your antics- we have Phil Neville saying he deserves job because he's written down all Moyes's training notes for last three years!
The lot of you are an embarrressment to this great club. Apologies for being so excited about VP rumours last night guys but today. please God almighty we are not waiting on Martinnez decision?
It a staggering how badly this club is run, please whover replies whether you for Martinez or VP we got to contact EFC and complain. this is becoming a total shambles. (Phil Neville comments finished me off tonight).
I will also add add, if you disagree with this post please explain very clearly because in my opinion, as my name suggests once again supporters of this club are being fed on BS

MUSHROOM MAN

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Finding the right manager doesn't happen over night, there is more to it than just saying so and so is the new manager, interviews with the candidates, meetings with their agents, meetings with the clubs they are at now

Agree0 Disagree0

Complain about what? What is a shambles? If there is an example of a well run football club then it is ours its a well known fact stated by pundits regularly. Have you had one too many shandys mushy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I already said this before but look what happened with the leroy Fer deal I have the same feeling on this aswell I want VP too and I think 70 percent of our fans want him aswell but as you know our board could of had gold but will be happy with bronze.

I am a big Supporter of DM, regardless of how much in advance he knew of his Manchester United move. and I appreciate that as of July 1st he will be looking after the Manchester United best interets. BUT I think that given he is under contract at everton until 1st June then his obligation remains with us. Despite that, on the extension of Rios contract manager Moyes said:

"It is clear for everyone to see that Rio has had one of his best seasons with the club.

"I think even from the outside you can see what a big character Rio is around the dressing room so I am delighted he has signed a new contract and I am looking forward to working with him. "

Forget the board memebrs, I think for the fans (who gave him that rapruous send off at goodison) and have backed him all the way this is completely disrespectful to conduct Manchester United business "on EFC time". he could have let the dust settle and waited until June2nd. you've lost points with me davey. Additionally Manchester United could have at least held back. just shows lack of class and respect to everton fans imo. jlaff

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I can understand some fans may be annoyed by this. But i'm honestly not bothered. The seasons over. It really doesn't matter. And I don't think he is being disrespectful. I think that is the last thing moyes would show everton. He has a big task on his hands next seasom and good luck to him.
I think he might need it.

Afternoon guys,

With this whole managerial farce going round, there's hardly been any talk of transfers or targets we would like.

For me, I would say we need to freshen up in 4 areas (If we keep our current players). A new Centre back, Winger, Midfielder and Striker. Before I list some players a quick note; this is purely who I think are possible targets but I am in no way saying we are getting these guys.

Centre Backs: De Vrij, Mangala, N'Koulou and Astori.

Midfielder: Clasie, Fer, Van Ginkel and Honda.

Wingers: Atsu, Fischer, Mertens and Varela.

Strikers: J. Martinez, Volland, Max Kruse and Cardozo.

Any of the above would be a welcomed addition to our team I beleive. Ed's feel free to input if you guys have any news regarding some of the players I've listed.

Your choices?

Cheers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

CB: only if heitinga goes mangala or dragovic
CM: one of McCarthy, defour and nanniggolan two if felliani goes
AM: one of Honda van ginkel
Wing: atsu
ST: one of bony volland martinez

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2013 15:47:11
I know many of you would like Vitor Pereira as our next manager, and looking at his record with FC Porto I can see why. However, would it not be wiser to appoint someone with Premiership experience i. e. Martinez, Laudrup or Di Matteo. Anyone remember what happened last time a young manager came to England from Porto (AVB) and messed up Chelsea?

Pereira would be taking a risk, which could pay off.
Martinez would not be as big a risk, and could lead to signings like McManaman, Kone, McCarthy etc.

Just my thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And how much premier league experience did Laudrup have this time last season then. People like you are just scared of change, and if it was up to you we would probably have Stubbs in charge because he loves the club ignoring the fact he's never been a manager before.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't really think that AVB 'messed up' at Chelsea tbh. Was more of a case of trying to move on the old guard too fast, given more time I'm sure he would have been a big success. However, in fairness, both Mourinho and AVB had won major european trophies before leaving porto, which obviously pereira hasn't. I did read a really interesting article by a portuguese journalist saying how good he was tactically and how intelligent he is - but what he lacks is the arrogance and charisma of mourinho and avb. Although it's true that RDM did achieve a lot with chelsea, let's face it they were very lucky to win the CL, and Avram Grant 'managed' Chelsea to a CL final so. (also WBA were likely to be relegated under him - look how well Hodgson and Clarke have done there). I think Martinez is quite a good option, but it would still represent a risk. Sorry for the big post ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

AVB didn't mess up chelsea. chelsea is just way to impatient and if you don't win in your first season you get fired. periera will have more job security here, and less pressure. and look what avb has done with spurs, not bad for a 1st season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd hardly say AVB 'messed up', he just wasn't given the fair crack of the whip at Chelsea.

Agree0 Disagree0

''Martinez would not be a risk ''

He just took WAFC into the Championship!

He messed with relegation once too often!

He put his pride in playing pretty football and the plaudits it comes with before the club the club's chairman and most of all the clubs supporters!

Martinez would be a huge risk.

Agree0 Disagree0

AVB doing ok at Spurs, and what about Maurinio? Also mcmannaman not good enough, Kone to old, and mc Cartney not ready.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2013 15:38:06
Ed Bill said he would listen to the fans well from what I got from all the other sites is in total 70 per cent want Peierra so the only other thing is maybe he is not sure on the job. Or our board want another yes man like Martinez but here is the funny thing if Martinez has an offer from Everton and he needs a week to make his mind up between us and Wigan well for me that is a big insult even bigger than Moyes turning up utd when still contracted to us. I wish it was all over now anyway i'm getting frustrated with this now. Stef the blue {Ed025's Note - he said he would listen stef, and i have always said martinez for me, but the majority are asking for martinez...we will have to wait and see mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Majority asking for Martinez is there anyway we could run a pole on here ed?

Hey fellow blues I just came on to share a bit of information but it seems Svenny has beaten me to it. As most regular posters will know I have a lot to do with football in general not only in Australia but also the America and England and I have previous links with Everton and still have a few sources. By no means do I claim to be completely in the know and I generally find out small amounts of info about bits and pieces, but what I'm saying guys is Svenny isn't too far off the mark according to what I've also heard, so I think people need to get off his back and be a bit more appreciative that there are some people who post here that do occasionally get viable information and are simply passing it on! Not everyone on here are just trying to give false hope.

Coral now have Martinez favourite, look at wigans finishes in the league before and when he took over, they have finished every season worse off, can someone tell me how this is a good move, and to top it off they get relegated. Kenwright needs to do the right thing for once.
Jc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Funny because I was about to post that I have it on pretty decent authority that Martinez will NOT be our next manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Martinez was evolving Wigan into a good attacking side which was good to watch,. which in truth he has achieved, defensively he needs to improve,. everton have better defenders and better players,. let's be honest he's the one who started the Swansea success,. there's pluses and minus and I feel Wigan are a club who would always battle relegation. give him a chance he plans his sides to play attractive football

Agree0 Disagree0

Attractive football is good, but letting 71 goals in and getting relegated ain't
Jc

Agree0 Disagree0

If moyes would have been at Wigan there is no way they would be in the relaxation scrap. Moyes took over us when we had little money and were in the bottom 6 and now we are in the top 6. Martinez isn't good enough

I'm a bit curious about why, all of a sudden, that this poster "svenny" is being regarded as the oracle for all matters Evertonian? People asking his opinions & even seeming to by-pass the Ed's. I may be wrong & he might well actually have genuine info, but, & it's a big but, has he not even bothered to register a log in name like many of us regular posters?
So, come on, svenny, get logged in properly, tell us a bit about yourself &, without naming names, where all this exclusive info is originating. I can assure you the Ed's are very discreet & won't snitch you to the tabloids! {Ed025's Note - i get what you are saying tezza, and its a valid point, svenny is just a purveyor of information, as we all tend to be at times, his info may be correct, or incorrect, only time will tell mate..

Not too long ago many people said they wouldn't mind/really like Martinez, and wanted him to bring McManaman and McCarthy with him. Pereira is my first choice too and I get that some people would be gutted if its not him, but I think Martinez has the potential to be a great manager at the right club, and everyone must give him a good chance and get right behind him. COYB! {Ed025's Note - i agree with all that AJ..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

AJ:

Personally I think Martinez is far too risky to manage us at this time.

If he could get a decent budget and he had a review of his own rather rigid principles re a realistic approach to PL football ( stop playing we have a go you have a go and let's see who scores first )

Who knows?

Me, I want a manager who puts Everton Football Club as his first and uppermost priority.

I think we should go for Periera, followed by Laudrup, followed by Martinez/Di Matteo. Lennon hasn't proved himself enough, Mackay isn't really prestigious and Solsjkaer hasn't got much expierience. LankyLad

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How long would you give each of them in the job before you go onto the next one in your list?

Martinez may not want to manage in the Championship as it is a really hard division to get out of especially if he loses a number of his better players. Its not all pretty football but a real battle every game. If he wants that sort of thing then he has all the players he needs at Stoke! So go there. Give us Periera every time

i see people on here making claims about managers, players etc, and now that we are not looking to sell as we have made a profit!
not having a go at anyone but the latter can not be right! BK and co, has publicly let it be known that we opperate in 5 mil a year loss. this year we have had no major big cup runs that would impact that much, no europe, attendance was down on previous year (seen average for last 2 seasons some where but can not remember) so were do we suddenly make up that 5 million? new tv money; when it was made public the amount, it was explained that this new money would be worth around 12 million a year to clubs in the prem, now my maths nothing special, but that gives us 7 million a year in the black, minus the 5 loss we opperate on, for a change, ok some profit, but if 20 million needed for transfers that 7 mil goes nowhere, so why all of a sudden would the board not want to sell or seek investment!
like I say, not saying people are wrong, but simple maths do not show us as a club that is making people money, that they all of a sudden want to keep. don't let our heads get too much in the clouds guys, remember its a rumour site with some silly and funny things posted, and anyone whos anyone can post here!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think the original post has some interesting points. I'd add that the servicing and repayment of our debts is surely dependent (without additional external investment that is) on our future income streams and I doubt there'll be much of the TV money, etc. , left over for major transfer spending once we cover our operating costs and then comply with financial fair play re debt/loss reduction. Goodness knows how much of the club's assets were used as collateral for the loans.
Besides, while we remain an indebted club without a modern stadium, we'll also surely remain unattractive to potential investors. Catch-22!

Agree0 Disagree0

One correction to original poster. Attendance was up 3k per game on last year but that is only worth c. £1m assuming a mix of adult, junior etc. TV revenue is also up as we had more tv appearances. Wage bill should have been flat as we were very careful with the squad. However the general point that maybe, in a good year, we break even before transfers still holds. The money for summer transfers will come from the new tv deal (and player sales) not because we did well in 2012/13 financially.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 May 2013 10:33:11
Heeh, please BK appoint the new Manager ASAP! It's driving me nuts to hear all the names of those supposely in the frame or having been interviewed for the vacant job. Come on BK no time to loose, do the appointment and let's move on! COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 May 2013 10:16:37
When Mourinho returns to Chelsea, they'll be contenders, especially as they can spend big. Likewise Arsenal, who seem likely to make some big transfers this close season. And, although I hate to say this, if the darkside have the funds then they still have the reputation (right or wrong) to attract players. Tottenham, under Daniel Levy, are very crafty in the transfer market. That's six better-funded clubs, including ManUtd and ManCity, that we're competing with for the top six league positions. Then there are those other clubs that we're competing with for the top ten positions because they have one or more of: better stadiums, higher average attendances, bigger turnover and income, paying higher wages, etc. They'll all benefit from higher TV money, so that won't be such an advantage for us alone. We are currently critically dependent on the TV money to cover our outgoings (especially payers' wages) so must stay in the Premier League. Relegation (unlikely - but heaven forbid) would be financially catastrophic for our club.
Without a modern stadium to generate increased matchday income, or without other sources of increased commercial income, or without the game-changer of UEFA Champions League group stage qualification, or without a sugar daddy (or daddies), and with financial fair play, we have more than finding a new manager to address. A cup win and UEFA Europa League qualification and a high finish in the Premier League would be great, but that won't provide the level of funding we need to compete domestically, let alone in European competitions.
But hey - once a blue, always a blue! {Ed025's Note - good post that jonesy, if a little negative mate..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed025: it might be negative, but do you honestly think our finances are adequate for us to stay competitive - especially as our ageing squad needs rejuvenating, and needs numbers added to it anyway, and we'll need those more experienced players while our young talent is given the time to gain first team experience and prove themselves at that level consistently? My heart will always be positive for Everton, but my head is swayed by the financial realities of modern top-flight football. {Ed025's Note - its fair jonesy, but I need cheering up a bit mate.. :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 May 2013 15:33:49
Baines and fellaini are probably are most known players and it will help sell tickets more than if we put osman or gibson on there and what? would love it to be pereira and bring a New focus to the team and fresh ideas. BUT. I think we all know its going to be Martinez. No cash to spend small squad sells the best players. I rest my case. {Ed025's Note - glass half empty syndrome hey bodie?..

Whoever we go for, it is a gamble. Just like it was when we opted for Moyes. All we can do as fans, is either slag the new man off and give him a hard time. or get behind him and give our support like the vast majority of us always do.
Some months ago I predicted that Moyes would leave to Utd. I will now predict that Moyes will be a very difficult man to follow and whoever comes in is likely to have a tough time. This is considering the age of the squad and the rebuilding that will be needed in the next 2 years. That is when we will need to get behind the new man. Hopefully by then, we will have the investment Blue Bill knows we need.

I agree.
Many of our fans might not like it, but we're surely set for a transitional period during which the replacements (whether incoming transfers or our U-21 and U-18 players being introduced) for our ageing squad will need time to gel - especially as the new manager will have his own playing style and tactics to be adapted to as well. I'd love a cup win and European qualification (and dream wistfully of the league title), but I just can't see it until the next generation is bedded in by the new manager.

To those who say the Portuguese league is easy to win a 2 horse race
Then what is the prem
Right from the start it was about city and utd.
So our league is no better
At least we would be getting a manager who won one
and hopefully not one who was relegated

Ok, I am going to say one more piece on this. I believe due to information I was given on monday evening, 24 hours before media and bookmakers got it, and I shared it with you guys on here that VP has met club officials an offer was made and agreed. Part of the offer was transfer funds for two players. It is my understanding, again from what I have been told that he will be announced as Everton manager once he publicly signs off with Porto.
When I first posted about this I said don't shoot me down as it is information I have been given. Was I in the meeting in London? No. Am I VP? No. Am I BK? No. I knew I would get some people having a go at me and spouting quite unreasonable and offensive remarks about me. I am an Everton fan like all of you on here, I happen through my past to have connections to Everton that I have explained before several times and will not do so again but those who are regulars on here will know.
I posted a good two months before got the Utd job that he had decided he was leaving at the end of the season and had told the club. That post had to be removed because I foolishly revealed my sources. I will not be doing that again.
To be honest I think from now on I will just stick to posting my opinions on here rather than passing on information as I do not know why I feel the need to defend myself but I do.
So in my opinion VP will be manager bringing Atsu and Defour, we will not be getting any new investment at any time soon, however we will have funds to spend. let's see on June 1st where we are.

Svenny {Ed025's Note - i for 1 am grateful for your information svenny, in life, you always get people with negative instincts...you are very welcome to post your views on here mate, and take no notice of people who think you are wrong, it is after all a rumours site..

Ok Svenny stop feeling sorry for your self now mate. People are always going to don't believe in things that others post but their are also a lot of us who remember and appreciate your imput.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't feel bad mate, but when people enter a 'rumours forum' such as this, they're naturally going to form a view of what they see, be it bad or good.

Myself, can't recall any manager taking the reigns at a club and something already be in place for him to acquire two of his ex players. However, I do believe Pereira will be appointed eventually.

Cheers bro

Svenny, your posts are a lot more interesting than the vast majority. Don't worry about it mate and keep em coming.

Iv been reading your posts for a long time too Svenny. I'm certainly not going to shoot you down my freind but I also don't believe the hype. I also knew Moyes was on the way by about December time, he would of signed a new contract by then if he was staying ( definitely by March ). If this VP fella gets the job I'll be first to congratulate you and your information. I honestly don't believe he's going to though and also don't mind if he doesn't, for me theirs better candidates for the job

Man who has won six games, per year, for the last four years, finally getting them relegated, or a man who has just won two back to back titles, the last undefeated, and with no compensation costs. This decision should be a no brainer!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I say neither. We should be looking closer to home and hopefully someone who can at least speak our language {Ed025's Note - football is an international language mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed025: football maybe an international language, but judging by one or two performances this season some of our players were struck dumb on occasion.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the second poster, I'm pretty sure Vitor speaks fluent English.
