i think its the climate of going abroad to do pre-season affects the playing coming back to English weather, so mabye we should stay in the uk and do a GODINSON CUP invite teams from everwhere for there chance to play in 1 of the oldest stadiums in uk?

team for top 4 IMO for next season theres a big suprise but as i said in my opinion

Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines

Fernandes Gibson Fellaini pienaar

Aluko

Jelavic

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I don't think this is really a surprise because aluko is a very good but underrated player because he plays for rangers in the SPL just like jelavic did but look how he's fitted in just fine and now one of the top striker in the BPL

Can't see us selling baines he is our creativitiy! Imagine a full season with him firing in crosses for jelly! Also if. Aimed goes it could affect pienaars choice of where he want to be playing next season! Without baines he might not want to come! And besides we wouldn't get the money the banks will do why sell one of our most consistent and creative players! It's a no brainer!

Why are we even thinking of Baines being sold, even if old Whisky Nose offers us 30million we should've telling him to jog on. It will ultimately come down to Baines and he won't be looking to move unless he is pushed out of the club which Moyes will not accept.

Heitinga however is another story, he will be lookin for a move in the summer and will unfortunately leave.

In my opinion we start off badly every season because no fresh faces are brought in to freshen up the current squad.

We need to get our signings done early and watch us flourish. {Ed025's Note - your spot on mate..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Have i missed something ed why will heitinga leave in the summer? he was saying how happy he was with us and playing the best football of his career and that the club felt like family. has he now said that he is unhappy and wishes to leave?.........grbefc {Ed025's Note - no mate...its guys guessing as he has yet to put pen to paper over his contract extension..

Could just be heitinga is waiting to see who we bring in and who we sell before deciding his extention to gauge the clubs ambition

My only concern is that Pienaar without Baines would somehow equal a Pienaar that we won't recognize. It's a risk, but it will need to happen sometime. We know definitively that both together are better than the parts individually. That being said, I'm curious about Bidwell and Garbutt as replacements more than buying a name as a replacement. I wonder if Distin gets time there next year while we bring Bidwell and or Garbutt up and hopefully one of them proves ready for the big time next year or the year after. But 20m+ would let us get Pienaar AND Donovan and give us some $ for other gaps or the bank. It will make a lot of sense.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

23 May 2012 21:04:35
c'mon guys get it together all the talk of nilmar moses and outragously hoilet is nothing short of the r/s standard [ok i went a bit far then]
No big players unfortanatly would join us which is i why i feel moyes is the manmager possible cos as we know he's the best basement dealer around more realistacly would be pienaar [most obvious thing ever] naismith [compliments JELAVIC]
and manuel fernandes who is class on his day

my first rant

paddock toffee {Ed025's Note - that would work paddo..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If we signed pineaar, naismith and fernandes and kept our best players it would be a great pre season for us

B {Ed025's Note - it would be brilliant..

Agree0 Disagree0

The R/S say they're signing world class players that are linked with Barca and United. Nilmar is what 29 and plays for a relegated team, so does Hoillet and Moses wants to leave I don't think they're are unrealistic I think they are less likely to happen than say Pienaar.

I appreciate Baines as much as the next person and I really would hate to see the lad leave. However for the right amount of money, it might not be the worst thing, Moyes would be lethal with 25 million ( the right money) , he could bring in some quality additions and will undoubtedly have another LB up his sleeve. We lost Lescott for 24 mil, we got Heitinga and Distin. Also to gain that amount of money for someone of Bainses age would be a great deal.

I really dont want Baines to go, but no man is bigger than EFC, and we should take heart in what his money could do in the unlikely event of his sale.

ChazEFC {Ed025's Note - do you think the money would go to moyes chaz?...cos i dont. the bank would get in quicker than a rat up a drainpipe mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Everton don't sell cheap, look at the rooney, arteta and lescott deals, if united don't offer 20 million everton won't play ball, arsenal wanted jags last summer and we priced them out of a deal. So whisky nose offer what the lads worth or do one!!

Bez the blue {Ed025's Note - im with you bez..

Dont sell baines he's everything that's class about the blues .big mistake selling him all we have 2 do is gt pienaar ,I really think 30 million couldn't buy an understanding that them 2have if we sold baines moyes wud get what at best half of wat mancs wud give at best 10 mill .don't sell baines

Unless it is the intention to mislead supporters, can we have a few stright answers. [1] is it just media druming up a story, or are we talking about selling one of the worlds best left backs at a fire sale price of under 25mill ? [2] is there, or was there ever, a realistic prospect of a sale or additional investment now or at any time in the last 12 mounths ? [3] this is more of an observation than a direct question, a number of clubs, which i will not refer to by name for fear of offence, but they are small and lack any pedegory seem to have had no trouble finding major backers, by contrast we, one of the countys greatest clubs, cannot find an invester and once again seem set to flog the family silver just to remain afloat. {Ed025's Note - thats what being an evertonian is all about mate...the uncertainty!...it keeps us on our toes...lol

Find it really funny how papers always presume EVERY summer that our best players will go to either Chelsea, City or United!!
It's happened 3 times really in the last 20 years of the Premier League and that was Rooney for 28 mill and Lescott for 24 mill, last season Arteta who is 30 went for 10 because he asked to go last minute so i wouldn't even include that to be honest! so why they always write the same stuff every year is beyond me and more to the point why some Everton fans start to panic and believe it is beyond me aswell.
If we do sell a key player especially under Moyes tenure it will be for big money 20-30 million and Moyes will demand he is allowed to use most of it, so i'm not really bothered.
Just enjoy ya summer lads and get ready for the new season when Moyes and the boys storm into the top 4!!!!!!

Would hate to see Baines leave, but after all lads hes a left back and not irriplacable(nobody is), and if he gonna go let him go soon and not near the end of the window which messes our club up again, i would wish heim well as hes been a great servant for the club!

Unfortunately difficult decisions may have to be made to take us forward with the constant lack of investment, i just hope that if he does go he goes for a proper fee and that moyes gets this cash to bring the club forward! 1st bid is always rejected anyhow! normally the third bid gets the player, if he goes i recon it'll be for 17-20 mil. My only fear is Moyes relationship with fergie and the amount of players we've gotten on the cheap from United (Gibson being the last), i know moyes is a fan of park( maybe included).

Buyt either way i dont think this is the last we are gonna hear of in the 'made up media circle's of our players, we have quite a few gems that many other sides would like!!

Kurajan IMWT but not Bill {Ed025's Note - if we start selling our top stars kurajan, we can forget europe, the hopes of the faithful are high, and that would be a real kick in the nuts for us!, if we want the club to progress, wee have to add quality...not get rid of it mate..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I completely agree ed, but how many years have we been in this position, only needing 2 maybe 3 players to push on for top 4, we even know the players we need, however we still have not seen any investment or potential buyer, so i cant see how this window is gonna be any different! last 3 years weve sold, billy 6mil, Arteta 10mil, Pea Nuts 6mil, the Yak 2 mil, Vaughan 2mil, Lescott 24 mill. So i really cant see us buying before we sell, i hope to god im wrong i really do, because i genuinly feel we are on the verge of something monumental at the club and all we need is 10 - 12 million but wheres it gona come from!! ive spent to many transfer windows fearing who we're gonna sell because we simply cant resist when the cash is dangled in front of us!!

Kurajan {Ed025's Note - i know what you mean kurajan mate...but the last transfer window has given us all high hopes of moving forward, im not asking for much, just peanuts, and a couple of decent frees, now thats hardly going to break the bank now, is it?..

Agree0 Disagree0

If we start bad [again] we get in top 8 will we.i would rather they sell fellini than baines think we could replace a midfielder but to replace a top lb would be harder.

BBc sport footballs phil Mcnulty says utd are looking at Bayern Munichs left back its on twitter he claims utd have being intrested in this lad for a while hope this is true so they might leave Baines alone or they just could be trying to stock up on left backs lol but hope it is true and all these Baines rumours are just rumours.Stef the blue {Ed025's Note - in the end stef, its up to the club. we should not kow-tow to the likes of utd, or anyone else for that matter, if they enquire about him , we should just say...NO!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I agree Ed25 it is up to the club but really hope he stays no matter what cause you and every Evertonian knows Moyes will not see all that money we get for him .Stef the blue {Ed025's Note - your probably right stef..

Lazy journalism again by the mirror over baines. The same paper reported he was going for 5 million a month back and 10 million a couple of weeks back. I can't see baines rockin the boat or moyse wanting to sell so the only way he will go is for double that amount. With Jake Bidwell waiting to step up moyes has a ready made replacement.

My wish list
Dempsey
Pienaar
Rodellaga

Cost less than 10 million.
Come on Bill, sort it out

Howard
Hibbert Jagileka Heitinga Baines

Osman Fellaini Gibson Pienaar

Dempsey
Jelavic

SUBS
Mucha(if he is staying)
Neville
Distin
Rodwell
Coleman/Barkley
Cahill
Rodellaga

Good bench with experienced players (Neville, Distin, Cahill) and young players (Coleman/Barkley and Rodwell) and a good enough striker to provide back up to Jelavic.
Also the likes of Anicebe, Gueye, Vellios, Baxter in reserve

I have heard rumours that Bainsey is being sold to fund peanuts and another striker... surely the reason peanuts plays so well for us is the relationship he has with baines - seems counter productive to sell one part of duo to fund the purchase of the other..!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Everton are more than just a two man team you know. I don't know if you noticed how well peanuts played when Baines was out injured towards the end of the season.

We should have a look at the lad at Newcastle Guthrie... Available on a free, only 25.
Newcastle not renewing his contrat because he had a injury and has fell down the pecking order from Ben Arfa and Cabaye

If Bains is going to united I'd say 17 and a loan player, that would buy sissoko as a LB, Dempsey as Jelavics support striker, Donovan RM and Pienaar! We'd spend 12 mil on 4 players. But I'd say please don't sell Baines!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I think you under estimate his value, plus why would we want to loan any1 from united, if there not good enough for them then we dont want them either

heard alot of horrible rumours about baines, 12 million, come on they paid 16+ for phil jones for god sake, surely he's worth at least 20, at least! in this current climate, anyway if this disaster did actually happen (seriously hoping it doesnt) everton will use the money to purchase 4 players, cissiokho as a baines replacement, rodriguez from burnley, naismith and good old pienaar

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I think it is everton who are trying to sell baines rather than united there not been any bid what so ever no phone call only speculation from one source {Ed025's Note - its just someone throwing a grenade in there, hoping for a response..

Andy {Ed001's Note - the Mirror is certainly not biased towards Liverpool, it is biased towards the south mate. It is one of the least accurate papers, with regards to transfer rumours, according to footballtransferleague.co.uk, who keep track of the stats. We're all saying we won't accept anything below 20mil for baines but realistically if united come up with the 15 we Apparantly want we won't be rejecting that... {Ed024's Note - We won't take anything less than 20 mill for baines and we would probably push for more, in my opinion he is going nowhere

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I don't see why we should accept anything under 20mil. We are not as bad off financially as we were last season, Baines seems very happy and settled at Everton, and doesn't look like he would try to provoke a move and more importantly he still has 3/4yrs left on his contract.

Anything under 20mil should be immediately thrown out, he is the best LB in the league, and if a Glen Johnson goes for 17mil, then Baines is easily over 20mil

Agree0 Disagree0

I say dont sell no matter what they offer.Moyes is trying to build a team and is only a couple of players away whats the point on building a team if were going to start selling our best players . I think if one goes it will probally start other players looking for an exit like fellaini cause there is also clubs looking at him i just hope Kenwright says no and hope that Baines doesnt try and force his way out we need to keep moving forward by adding players not selling our best.Stef the blue.

I accept that our club cannot, at present, go out and buy all the best players on the market, but it can keep faith with the supporters, by firmley rejecting the story in the lazy gutter press, that our world class player are for sale at fire sale prices ! {Ed 025's Note - i totally agree mate, come on everton!..come out and rubbish this nonsense, at least it would be a statement of intent..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Utd and chelsea need a load of players between them and city just buy for the hell of it. If anyone comes sniffing around for any of ours then simply make them pay through the nose.
Talk of Baines for even £20m is crap.
We may need to sell to balance the books but not till January, then we can see how things are.
