Well, it's going to be an interesting game on Tuesday night. I honestly do not know what kind of Newcastle team will turn up, it could be the decent and energetic one in the last 15 mins against palace, or it could be the can't be bothered BS in the first half of the palace game.

Everton haven't been at their best, even though you beat Swansea it wasn't too convincing.

I hope we lineup with 3 in the midfield so we can try and matchup to your midfield and get something from the game otherwise I can see you's hammering us.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Swansea played really really on sat mate they make a lot of teams look average i'm going to put my neck on the line here an say we will walk away 4-1 winners lukaku gets two mirallas 1 an mcgeady gets 1 with Ben arfa getting your goal

Agree0 Disagree0

Depends what everton side turns up mate, when we are bad our opposition are always good, there is never a case of us being bad and our opponents being bad, if we are bad we get punished, tim krul is a good keeper and I like gouffran and debuchy but some of your players are dodgy, santon is woeful, mbiwa is woeful, tiote is overrated and can get too involved in games, sissokho is meh, remy is good and will be your main threat, I see the key battles being out wide, hopefully mcgeady can rip into santon and same with mirallas on debuchy, your wingers, gouffran works hard and will be a handful for coleman, I said that about hazard and ben arfa at goodison earlier and he had both in his pocket so meh, ben arfa vs baines will not be too interesting, last season when we drew 2-2 (remember we were robbed), ben arfa was on the left and hibbert had him in his back pocket, i'm not too worried about him, tbh I don't think many wingers get the better of baines, oh how I miss the days when antonio valencia was good, him vs baines was very exciting too watch, anyway, I digress, anita and tiote will have to cope with ross, anita seems like a carthorse but very weak, tiote is an animal but things go to his head and I see ross frustrating him, sissokho against barry and mccarthy, well, we shall see, lukaku against coloccini and mbiwa or wheoever you play, don't worry, lukaku hasn't tormented a defender since we played united at old trafford, he bullied vidic, but since, has been in phil bardesleys, olssons, williams and god knows how many defenders pockets, remy against distin will be interesting, remy is as one footed as richard dunne so won't worry us on his left, remy is fast, distin is fast, distin has kept up and outpaced walker, ealcott, valencia, jerome, long and benteke (outmuscling benteke too) you know? that's what he is up against, but despite all this i'm predicting a 2-1 win for youse, remy catching stones off guard and a header from one of your centre backs with 10 minutes to go with us taking the lead through another baines 35 yard free kick lol, our players will underperform I guarantee you

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm guessing this is another late night log in because that's the strangest prediction and assumption av seen, then to round it off you predict a loss after ripping apart there team, add to that remy is injured anyway, like I say strange post all round

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you there mike, even if we are not at our best i expect us to beat them, i think he may have had a stella moment there mate.. :)

I agree with Mikedeblue there. You have good knolwedge but my god are you negative. You should be a critic mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

But guys you have to remember that Swan is never happy unless he is moaning about something!

Hello Fellow Blues, What do you reckon to bringing in these players-
Jose Fonte CB- better ball player than Jags
Ashley Williams-CB replace Distin in a year or two good leader ball playing centre half.
Remy ST-if we don't get Lukaku or Bony. Very similar to Sturridge would suit out play.
Jordan Mutch- Not a bad back up striker to bring on last 15.
I would look also look at bringing in players like Dyer and Routledge from Swansea as they would be good to utilise in Europe. I know Hull won't sell him but i'd like us to bid for Curtis Davies I was very impressed when he played against us at Goodison.
I can't think of any at the moment but I think we're lacking a playmaker in the middle let me know your thoughts blues.

Am I dreaming this?, jose fonte?, phillipe senderos is a better ball player than jags, doesn't mean we should buy him!, williams has about 3-4 big mistakes in him each season and won't play as long as distin, nathan dyer just signed a new contract and wayne routledge is wayne routledge, don't need to say much more, jordan mutch is, well twaddle, absolute twaddle

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this a joke? Remy is the only player that would get into our 16 man squad out of all those mediocre players you mention.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fonte-Okay, but too old, and not really impressive imo.

Williams- Much better than Fonte but won't leave Swansea, as he is a rare ''Loyal Footballer''.

Remy- For 15 million at the age of 27 with probably 2-3 good seasons in him? No thank you, would rather get a younger striker who will last longer.

Dyer- Last season he was very good, but from what i've seen is abit lazy? Not seen too much of him tbf.

Mutch- Yes, good competition for Barkley, and replacement for Osman, as he is a midfielder.

Davies- Good, but as you said, will not be sold.

I would much rather we looked abroad, than at the teams that are bellow us. No offence to them, but there are much more talented younger players at prices that won't be as jacked up as the premier league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dyer just signed new contact swan don't think that means much apart from you end up paying a little moor for the player an you said we should go after bony didn't you swan isn't he only about 25 games into his Swansea career so its the same thing as dyer. Going of this kids posting name everton17 would suggest he is only 17 you could of jus said I don't think any of these would fit the bill for our club mate

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Mar 2014 00:21:54
Yes but berbatov joined fulham, then wanted out a few months later, staying at a club and signing a new deal shows he has NO intentions of leaving, bony has only just joined, he is a natural target, dyer, not so much, I do like dyer though, his age doesn't really matter mate, i'm 19 myself like so not that much difference, although I do apologize if I have offended him, don't mean too, its just if I would of just said they wouldn't fit the bill certain posters wiuld get annoyed and want me to go into more detail (not degsyP by any chance) so I hopefully got my point across

Agree0 Disagree0

The OP seems about 8, named a few inform players says mutch is a striker then rounds it off with anuva cb haha, stick to motd mate

Agree0 Disagree0

If the original poster is young mike don't you think you should give the kid a break mike instead of sayin stick to match of the day and swan that's a fair point mate an an showed a bit of class by apologizing if you offended him

Agree0 Disagree0

Lighten up shakey30 I doubt he will av a nervous breakdown he prob in colouring in class now having the time of his life

I got my eyes on you Swan. No insults please. LOL

Anyone know when Jags is back because Lord we need him!

23 Mar 2014 21:00:40
I couldn't help but feel the same. Think stones is a great prospect, but its just too early for him and he makes me nervous. The soonerjags Iis back the less I will feel like having a heart attack. For some reason I never felt nervous when duffy got a game for us, heitinga on the other hand towards the last season with us made me nervous like stones does now. Wonder why martinez starts stones before alcaraz?

GAME ON! So TH score the late winner to creep in front of us and that next game away to the Toon takes on the dimension of a Cup Final for EFC. 4th place is to play for! Every game I live and breath for and my wife after 30 years of marriage knows the score from my body language. God bless her, the next 8 games are going to be living hell for me because I am 3500 miles away from the action. Go for it, the greatest supporters that you know you are and shout the house down at each game and make us play as that 12th man! COYB. Luv Ya!

Its about time Miralas is given a rocket or at least dropped for a few games. He is awful at the momment and I can't remember the last game he did well in. His 2 assists yesterday hide the way he played yesterday, his effort was poor, fell over every time he received the ball or gave an appalling pass to no one. People give Osman a lot of stick(not called for imo) however this ordinary player gets away with everything. He's playing for the World Cup and that's it, making sure he doesn't get injured, the only thing I can think of as to why he is selling us short as fans. Get rid in summer, and get someone who wants to play for the fans and more importantly play as part of the team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Mar 2014 17:31:32
I agree, he was awful, I love him though, he is exciting but recently he seems to be scared of taking anyone on, last season, ripping into wisdom, bosingwa and whoever he came up against, now he won't and seems afraid of getting stuck in, I wouldn't sell him but I wiukd certainly drop him and let him know the club and the fans come first, not him

Agree0 Disagree0

He is the type of player who can change a game in a flash though so I don't think it would be wise to drop him he mite just need a bit of a rest maybe just rm have a little word with him an say your sitting out the next match an one or two training sessions because you need a break I definitely would not leave him out longer than one game that's for sure

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2014 20:29:17
Perhaps he won't get stuck in because he has a lucrative move lined up for the summer. Just a thought as I have no evidence.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree his form has dipped. However, no single player can put in performance after performance. Perhaps he needs a little rest? If we got rid of everyone who has a couple of bad names, we would have no one.

Bored saying it now but for all the good we do until we learn to defend a set piece we will not achieve anything more than the last decade. Time after time this season we have been done. Their 2nd goal yesterday was shambolic. Cardiff scored the week before off a chest. We conceded 3 at home to Liverpool then the opener at Anfield. John Terry nodded a 90th min winner at Chelsea, Adebayor latched on to a quick free kick at Spurs. All this combined with becoming totally inept at scoring from them ourselves via a cross. It makes no sense that RM doesn't seem to prioritise corners. Given the way we play and how we stretch teams we win a lot of corners. If we wanted to I bet we could go out to win more. At the moment I feel we are doomed to concede from every set piece the opposition has.

Just a question which I'd like some views on. Should we be looking at trying to sign Hatem Ben Arfa from Newcastle? It's been well documented that he's had a poor season by his standards. And yet I know what he is capable of even though he 's not shown that consistently of late. I feel they he's currently stuck in a rut, missing Yohan Cabaye and could be tempted with a move to us especially if we can offer European football next season. I also think that Ross would learn a lot from Ben Arfa and could forge a good understanding together in midfield. Ben Arfa's only 27 and could be bought for between 7/8 million. What do you guys think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Daveyboy I totally agree. I have been telling anyone who will listen that we should go for both Ben Arfa and Remy. Especially Ben Arfa. The lad is a magician. Under RM he would be worth 30m. He is totally wasted at Newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Davey, he is a very exciting player but isn't what we need to bring Ross on. Ross' biggest issue is that he's a little selfish for a midfielder and doesn't look up enough. These are the exact same criticisms I have with Ben Arfa.

Not someone I would look to acquire to move are club on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whether or not he's really worth it, I imagine that NUFC will want nearer £12M to £15M for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah mate, Benny is staying at the toon and won't leave for everton! Hopefully we'll see him playing up against baines mid week, that will be an interesting match up.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Mar 2014 13:25:25
No thank you, he has talent but is very greedy, like to the extreme, when they lost 2-0 to sitteh, when they were 1-0 down in the last minute, ben arfa gets the ball and hits it straight at hart, didntbeven look up, he is also wasteful, weak, lazy and, for this season, overweight, i'd rather stick jonny vegas on the wing

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but can't agree Toffee Ace and Swan. I think he's exactly who we need as an attacking right sided midfield player. If not to buy how about a loan deal?

Agree0 Disagree0

Davey, I actually agree with most of your post . But not the Ross bit. I can't see how Ben Area can help. We need a mid fielder, a creative one at that. One that will look up, see a pass when it's on and not get caught in possession. These are what Ross needs to learn from. What Ben Area does is not see the pass, not look up an shoot from positions that need more patience.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben Arfa is exactly what we do not need. He has got talent but he is far too inconsistent, seems to make a lot of wrong choices, and is far too greedy. He seems to think it is his duty to take on the whole defence on his own when a simple pass would be such a better option. He is frustrating too watch. There are much better options out there than Ben Arfa. I like Newcastle and follow them(still a Blue), and from a Newcastle perspective I would like them to offload him and get someone in to do a job consistently and not play brilliantly in some games and dreadfully in others. I think that some people on here have watched match of the day, read things etc. regarding yesterdays match and are making an opinion about him possibly being a good signing based on that game in which he did have a good game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't agree with vast majority as stated earlier. Ben Arfa is a class act. If you can't see his quality then that's your (in my opinion, very poor) judgement. Players often perform better when they are in a 'good place'. Since his injury I'd say Ben Arfa is anywhere but in a good place. This lad has the quality to be one of the best out there, he needs a manager who is going to give him confidence and allow him to play with the arrogance that allows him to glide past 2 or 3 as if they weren't there. If the criticism is that he doesn't pass enough then that's ridiculous. Believe it or not the hard part is actually skinning people and making them look like fools. The easy part is managing them in a way that means they value an assist as much as a goal. Ben Arfa with the right management and motivation could play at the very top.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Oli, a voice of sense and reason. Ben Arfa is a class player who would provide the sort of silky skills we've not seen since Mikel Arteta departed to the Arse. A little Gallic flair is what's needed even if others can't see it.

Agree0 Disagree0

You lot are deluded. In my earlier post I admitted he has got talent but you either do not watch him on a consistent basis and have seen few performances or are jut ignorant to his blatant downfalls of his game. I have watched him consistently and know that sometimes he can be brilliant but in too many cases is poor. Plus the lad does not understand the concept of a 'team'. I don't understand the fascination with such players, as yes on their day they are an absolute joy to watch but cannot be relied upon. He has one good game, and he is class. He doesn't really dominate the team sheet at Newcastle, do you think he would do that here? He is not Everton player, has the wrong attitude. You lot are not considering all the facts before making your judgements.

Agree0 Disagree0

The T*t: note to self. Do not call people deluded who don't share your point of view. It makes you look stupid. Do not call people ignorant when they do not share your point of view. It makes you look stupid. Don't claim to be some sort of false Toon oracle of knowledge, it makes you look stupid. Don't use big undefined phrases like 'Everton player' that you don't understand, it makes you look stupid. When you only have one point to actually offer (in essence you think he's inconsistent) don't take 7 lines to deliver it. It makes you look stupid.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I have offended you via the use of the term "deluded", I apologise as I did not mean it personally. It is not because people do not share the same opinion it is because there are clear facts which are going ignored. I am not claiming to be some false toon oracle of knowledge, I watch him consistently and suspect that you do not. Please elaborate on how I don't understand the phrase 'Everton Player'?

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks a lot to the Ed who posted my reply. I get called a tit twice and a bit about that having a small brain because they have state I took 7 lines to sate one point when in fact it was more than point.

We were abysmal today - horrible to watch - and really we should have lost as they were the much better team

No skill and no effort

For me it's the old problem of players getting lazy and backing off and not closing down their players when they have the ball - just standing and watching them

McCarthy is going AWOL in a lot of games now - see how the defense has no one to pass to when they're trying to bring it out - because McCarthy is hiding miles away from the ball

We need a centre mid playmaker - box to box string puller

One more thing - how come we're so cramp at retaining possession from our own throw ins? We put no pressure on the opposition throw ins so they easily come away with the ball - but when it's our throw in we nearly always lose possession as well because they press each of our players and they lose it straight away

(At least mcgeady looks like he's bothered and puts in some effort)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What would you rather have - playing poorly, but winning matches (like against Swansea), OR playing well, but losing (like against Chelsea and Tottenham)? Of course we want to play well, but surely it's pretty much all about winning and accumulating league points. The good football is great, but it's a means to an end - the end being winning football matches.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Latch' it wasn't that bad. Swansea do that to every team they play but en up losing. Same scoreline to when they played man city. We were under par yes, but not abysmal.

Agree0 Disagree0

The score line is keeping everyone happy but it was a false result - they were better than us for most of the game

Its definitely not all about the result - I would honestly rather lose a game having battered the opposition and them nick a lucky goal than win playing that badly - because you need to look at the undying play - not the result

If you're playing we'll - like Liverpool unfortunately - the results will come - but if you're playing really badly and nicking undeserved results then it will eventually come out in the wash and we will start to lose games

Our centre mids need to be doing a lot more running and closing down and breaking at speed_ at the moment they look like they ain't bothered
Other teams absolutely love playing against teams that don't close down - they have the time to ay the game as they like it - controlling the bal looking up moving into space - it all looks easy when your opponents don't close down
And that's what we're not doing

McCarthy has to do a lot more for me

And don't get me started on lukaku not knowing what to do when we're three on two

Agree0 Disagree0

So you'd have us lose every game at the expense of playing well?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think its pretty obvious I would rather not lose every game - I'd rather we tried playing better by putting more effort in and competing properly by closing teams down

I honestly think playing like we are now we won't win many more til the end of the season - the Cardiff and Swansea results were false wins and realistically we should have only got 2 points from them and be under Man United now

Agree0 Disagree0

Re the losing possesion at throw ins, I read somewhere that most teams lose it within 5 seconds of taking one. Makes you wonder why everyone tries to claim one all the time.

Agree0 Disagree0

further to my last post.they lose possesion within 10 seconds about 70% of the time

This is a team that almost WON at Anfield.
