Any news on shani tarashaj? I noticed he hasn't been given a squad number this year, or heard much about him for a while.

I have just read that The Express is reporting we have now agreed a fee with Swansea for Gylfi Siggurdson. really hope so as Koeman has made it plain that the player is a huge part of his longterm project for Everton moving forward. £50m is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for ANY footballer but that is the going rate in this day and age! Also I was beginning to think it might not happen due to the size of the fee but then look at other fees. City have just paid over £100m for TWO FULL BACKS! Then paid nearly £30m for another. so £45/ 50m for a goalscoring international midfielder with a few years top Premier League experience is probably reasonable? Now maybe Giroud. but please don't touch Remy from Chelsea Mr Moshiri or Grosicki from Hull, we already have decent wide players in Mirallas Lookman Bolasie (when fit) . Looking forward to Thursday night COYB.

I posted on here a while back in regards to strapping a certain big guy on my back and swimming the channel, if Lukaku was still here come end of August.

Well I will raise that with the role polys strapped to my back if we do not sign Siggerson, he wants a move, he is our top target so with the money we have now, Everton will not walk away when already offering £40 Million, be here before Thursdays game after a few addon sweatners.

Haha Baz, be careful mate and know when to give up. Yes the Gylfi one will happen but your becoming a bit reckless :)

So is your statement he will join this window or by the game Thursday? 🤔.

Be here before the game Thursday if he is not on the pitch he will be sat in the stands watching, not be surprised if we do not have him by Monday evening.

Nothing like a sure thing Toffee, has been our number one target all summer, those Days of penny pinching are over, if Ronnie wants him, Moshe will deliver, be the Marque signing, unless we get gazump d but by all accounts he wants Everton, Swansea will squeeze add one but like I say we already offered £40 million, an extra £5 million for add ons, can you see moshi haggling over £5 million.

Is everyone against Benteke because he played for the other lot? Let's not forget what he did in a very poor Villa side and even last season with Palace.

I'm not I still want a physical presence to replace Lukaku not necessarily to start every week but just to change things when we need to,
Personally I think Benteke could get 15-20 goals in this team.
Benteke was never right for the rubbish over the park they don't cross the ball.

Apart from playing for the other crowd, he's crap, one good season at villa he's had since coming to the prem. As i mentioned previously people used to use the lazy tag to beat Rom with but this guy is a master of it.

42 goals in 89 games is more than 1 good season jimmyc.

I am not against him just would prefer Giroud if I had a choice
However it's not my choice so will support whoever dons the shirt 😊.

Not sure he'd be in my top 5, but then again don't think Giroud would (mainly because of his age really) but both have premier experience. Not sure who my first pick would be, but then I don't have the scouting network behind me that the blues now have. Whoever it may be, they'll score goals in this team and we'll all be behind him!

I thought the game was a good run out, still some expected preseason rust that needs to be cleared out and the team needs to gel but the link up between players was looking good.
That Sander Berge who we had been linked with in the past is a tall fella! 😳.

Giroux is by far the better player, lacks the speed but hold up play and in the air he will give us more of a goal threat, I would be happy if we got benteke as he has his strengths but just don't see him coming to us, and if he did we would be paying 50 million.

Can't believe some of the negativity on here. We have signed 6 first team squad players as well as bringing Dowell into the first team set up. That's 7 players who need to integrate and gel with the rest of the squad and so far have had 3 games to do so, 3 games where most of them have only had 30-60 mins on the pitch. We also have a big change of tactics due to Lukaku's departure and need to get used to that. And you are expecting us to look like world beaters? Get real.

Hi Tommy good post mate, I totally agree this is the best window so far in years and we are not finished yet, Mr Moshiri had a great vision for our Great Club and with R K on board this can only get better especially with the New Stadium just around the corner, at last we have something that we lacked in years and a big thank you to Bill for finding this guy and getting some true investment and big finance into Everton, at last we can compete with the big boys good times ahead, ridiculous to have so many negatives on what's happening let's all enjoy the ride, (we have waited long enough) cheers mate, GuernseyBlue.

I don't expect us to be world beaters as the players we signed aren't world beaters. Given that we had so much change perhaps we should have more than 4 pre seasons games with 2 qualifiers, not to mention the teams we are playing! Some teams are playing 8/ 9 games and against quality opposition! The teams above us are still better and most are signing quality players! We thought we were spending big! I think all we have done is solidify our position in 7th, just my opinion.

Don't read anything into pre season games other than fitness levels, it's madness to look at the result
Spurs beat PSG last night but I bet you any money you want they do better than Spurs in champions league, all I'm interested in is that we get a win in the Europa qualifier as sometimes there are shocks when you play a competition early and that come the stoke game we're ready fitness wise.

The way I see it, we could still be a big surprise this season. I think Koeman has signed these players so that we can have a variety of options. Koeman can tailor the tactics to each team we play as we actually have options.

He can change the formation and the way we play with one substitution, and we will have a bench comprising mostly of game changers.

We have several players who can contribute goals across the field, which we didn't have last season.

Preseason games mean nothing except integrating the new players, developing tactics and getting fit. We were also hamstrung by having Europa league qualifiers. I think we will be fine next season.

I would of liked to see us play the team he wants to play on Thursday for at least a half to see how it pans out, but I'm no manager and I'm sure he knows what he's doing, just hope the new players can handle the premiership or we could come unstuck, Rooney is doing the business at the moment but were else are we going to rely on, I'd like to see a proven striker come in just for back up.

23 Jul 2017 05:21:25
I was wondering ed25 is Rooneys performances convincing you he might not be such a bad signing? not having a dig just would like to hear your thoughts?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

{Ed025's Note - he has done ok so far AL and im sure he will do well for us, my main concerns have always been about the fact it that it could stop a younger player getting a chance mate..

23 Jul 2017 14:00:53
Fair point ed but my opinion is that all the younger players that play in his position will benefit greatly from training with someone with his experience and even some of the older ones will too. On a different note hasn't Gareth Barry done well in the games he's played so far, I'm quite pleased we are keeping him around.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the old guard seem to be doing the business AL...maybe there is hope for us yet mate.. :)
