We really need to get investment soon, our team is getting old, players will be retiring in a few years time. Teams around us are growing stronger every year, it's only a matter of time before we slip down the table. We have been vastly overachieving for years, let's just hope Kenwrong gets something done about it soon. {Ed025's Note - the only way. something will get done about it...is if kenwright goes!..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

When I say "hope Kenwrong gets something done", I'm talking about him getting to f*** ahah {Ed025's Note - good decision..

maybe we could sell jags to arsenal for 16m + vela on loan, then either buy cahill or dan, probally get upson on a free deal, or trade yobo + whatever money left from buying a striker for when vela goes for samba + a player maybe pederson or someone, i know samba is a bad idea because he cant run and we already have distin {Ed025's Note - lets just keep jags..

I'd love to know how it really works behind the scenes....I don't believe for a second that Villa just wont up their bid by 1m. Which would make you think he's holding out for a move to us or whoever else is in for him. I wouldn't be surprised if Newcastle or Sunderland suddenly poked their nose in whilst we try and flog anyone in sight
Even if (the biggest IF ever) we managed to stump up 10m, I'm still not sure I'd blow it all on N'Zogbia you know {Ed025's Note - if we cant get a striker..i would

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Maybe it's me, but why is everyone getting so worked up over an individual that is prepared to shaft his current employer in order to get a transfer? Do you really expect him to be loyal to us? {Ed025's Note - good point..and the answer is probably no!..

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats a bit unfair, its not like hes pushing for a move, his Chairman has actually come out and said they will have to sell him.
And if he really wanted to shaft them he would run down the last year of his contract and go somewhere for a free

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats the way of Football, not just nowadays but always. N'Zogbia will leave, he might go to Villa, he may come here, and if he does well he'll have better teams interested in him. We cannot offer him the same level of competition or chance of winning silverware as others can. You have to accept that inevitably players will use the club as a stepping stone to greater things.

And in a way thats fine, because they'd have to perform well to attract the top teams. Its not that their heart isn't in it, they'll give us the same spiel about loving the club and the fans that every player does. We'll have players like that at the club now, ultimately every player dreams of playing in the Champions League, the World Cup and winning silverware, and alot of players are playing well to put themselves in the shop window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Loyalty is a two way street though. If a player genuinely does not want to be at a club, i think the club have to respect that he is unhappy and try to find a solution. I mean N'Zogbia has pretty much kept Wigan in the division, they owe him the opportunity to advance himself as much as he owes them the respect to do it in the right way (not throwing transfer requests about etc).
And that goes for any player at any club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if you were a player of N'Zogbia's quality, would you really want to be stuck in a relegation battle every year? {Ed025's Note - true

I know this has probably been mentioned...but can't we offer Yak or Yobo or both as an exchange? {Ed025's Note - they want £10m...if we give them, the yak & yobo...its..£12m..

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Good point, but it looks like Whelan wants cash, I doubt Wigan could pay their wages as well which is a shame

Agree0 Disagree0

I do believe its yobo + cash and zog is ours {Ed025's Note - maybe..

nzogbia has been stalling other clubs to move to efc, but, if we don't come up with the cash soon we will lose him. As far as i know, Lord granchester is still a major share holder, and one of the richest men in england, if he has a real interest in the club he could, at the least make the club a short term loan, till we sell fringe players. If he is unwilling to do so, sell his shares to someone to whom it matters. {Ed025's Note - his interest in the club is purely for financial gain and prestige, so dont hold your breath..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I don't understand why Moyes is after him, he doesn't even play wingers?unless he is planning a new formation.
I know the Zog can play LB too, which is even more bizarre.

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't play wingers? Hmmm....

Agree0 Disagree0

N'zogbia is dangerous cutting in from right, running directly at people and looking to create and score.
And if we could sign him, what a partnership that could be down the right, Coleman and Zoggy aye. N'Zogbia cutting in and taking the FB inside to create the space for Coleman to exploit and get in the crosses, a la Baines. I think it would work brilliantly. {Ed025's Note - it would work for me..

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesnt play winger? where did coleman/bily play last season then huh?

Agree0 Disagree0

Would it be worth selling jags, play Heitinga with Distin. Buy Zog to operate on the opposite wing to Arteta and £5m+ change to put towards a striker.
It's possibly worth trying to hold out and get him in January for an even cheaper price. I don't see why Villa would quibble over £1m and nobody else seems to be showing any interest. {Ed025's Note - i think hes waiting for us, or sunderland to come in for him..

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely there's enough money to go into a little more debt for just a little while until we sell a couple of players, which would then balance the books. N'Zogbia simply isn't worth missing out on. If he goes to Villa then I can imagine all the fans and Moyes having a huge fume. If we let this one slip I'll be seriously disillusioned with the club. {Ed025's Note - you mean you are not already?..

Dave Whelan held an interview on news about the sale of Charles N'Zogbia.
He quoted that 3 clubs are strongly in the running for him including Aston Villa and two undisclosed clubs.
He claims that 10 million has always been N'Zogbias asking price even though Villa attempted to buy for 9.
When he was asked who are the two other clubs keen on N'Zogbias he replied.. " I can't tell you because it's unfair to the clubs, one of them is mad mad keen on signing him but they've got to find the finance and that's never easy".

Could this club struggling to find the finance be our beloved blues?.. Let's hope so.

COYB.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

What do you think of matt jarvis ed? another good player and might be cheaper than n'zogbia and a potential target if we miss out on zog {Ed025's Note - i like him...but would wolves let him go...certainly not for peanuts..
