‎"No amount of money could make me play for Liverpool, and that is not disrespect for Liverpool football club or their supporters, it is respect for Everton" - Tim Cahill, not a rumour I know but after reading that how can anyone truely say they want him out, I so badly hope he proves all the ney sayers wrong, I bet He will scores at least 7 by the end of the season! keep the faith in the team.COYB!

Believable17 Unbelievable3

Go the match and watch him play, then tell me he offers us so much on the pitch, hes a spent force, got the goal because the ball was 'handed' to him on a silver plate, its time for the bench for him sorry, i love tim and what hes done but i support everton football club and not tim cahill football club, players age, clubs move on or we will end up with a field full of OAPs, f*ck it lets bring back all our legends hey, we should do good in the blue square, people need to wake up

Agree0 Disagree0

Players have never been replaced, we have never looked at the future. Tim should be teaching a youngster so he is a ready made replacement. Sadly its lack of ambition by the board, the youngsters should have been ready to step up now with a mix of bought quality players. Something is going on at the club and we are not getting the full story, we can all see that. We are suffering from a lack of investment in a team that has not been upgraded with quality players for at least 3 years

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate u ave a short memory as far as im concerned cahill is a legend too me and always will be end of story {Ed025's Note - he is a legend..but i think time may have caught up with him, he will still be of value, but as a impact sub, and not as an automatic first choice...

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree ed, and i never said he was not a ledgend, i said he is spent, and like i said if all we want is a team of ledgends were fck'd, why, because ledgends are aged players, and become too slow and get out played, all this hes a ledgend and we owe him, yet people moan about wasted wages....fckin wake up it is not a fckin one player club, play barkley, play barkley, we want youth, people say one after the other, and then in the same breath we must play cahill because hes a ledgend, fck off, its all bullsh*t, it about the club, its the club i support and want the best for, and giving love to a man who dont do it no more wont save us, if were not going to sell him, and let him stay at the club, he needs to accept its time for the bench, and if he loves us that much he will accept this, big dunc did!!...byn {Ed025's Note - works for me byn..

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure while ur at it u might as well put howard distin hibbert neville osman and saha on the bench all over 30 use them from the bench as well as cahill because they need to accept its time for the bench play barkley because he has experience to burn maybe play green as well in fact y dont we just send r u18s out i feel cahill will make u eat ur words should get another 7 before seasons over experience experience big dunc was 35 and still playin cahills only 33 ud think he was 43 afterall man u dumped all there 33year olds on the bench scholes keane neville giggs ferdinand van der sar sheringham noooot! he had a bad year every footballer goes through that at some time in there career u want him put down

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Barkley played for an hour for under 18s

Agree0 Disagree0

Barkley played in the u18s on friday and Coleman and Rodwell are back in traing next week apparently, Jagielka will be back in 3 weeks, maybe fit for the derby.
Doesn't say anything about Osman though

We all know that if we cant get rid of Kenwright then moyse stays, but how about a change in the coaching staff something is seriously wrong when you have 2 shots on target in 3 games what are the players getting told to do stab at it when you feel yours knees buckle!. For me the first head to roll should be Steve Round what excatly does he bring to the team Moyses yes man! We want someone with a backbone who will tell moyse his mistakes not just nod his head and kiss his arse. Also would it realy do that much damage if we actualy got a attacking coach to show the midfield how to get in the box for crosses or knock downs....................stokesylaa

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Moyes / irvine always worked well, and hes sitting there coaching the youth team, swap them round, then bin the round....byn

Agree0 Disagree0

Good shout stokeseylaa we cant get rid of moyes till kenwright goes and Round just tags along with him ...Imagine how attacking we would have been under Martin o'neil ...ahhhh

Believable0 Unbelievable1

ESPN are showing a live game. Think it's only us who are playing Friday {Ed025's Note - and spurs v watford

Agree0 Disagree0

Bbc 1 mate

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not hard to check the tv guide to know that Everton aren't on the BBC this Friday. No wonder there's so much BS on this site! Rumours, right or wrong is one thing. If looking at a magazine to check facts is so challenging, then there's no hope for us.

If Bily has gone for £5M, this represents good business. It means we get another Moyes duffer off the books and a saving of around £40K per week. Plus, people at the club seemed pleased to get £10M for Arteta and Bily isn't half the player Arteta was for us, so £5M is a real coup. (Moyes got mugged off in the first place)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He bought him without seeing him on the word of another manager he trusted

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, it was Hiddink, I think

He always asks other people not the sign of a good manager

billy didnt have the effort or commitment to wear the everton shirt, but i wish him well. so now we have got 5m and a good chunk of wages, hoping for a striker and onuha. i think were ok in the midfield when we get rodwell, coleman, barkley and osman back, also lets hope moyes can get a couple of mil for yobo

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Your a idiot

Barkley has been injured for the past four weeks so you are right he couldnt have come on and that is why he has not been on the bench, now you person I was on about the previous SEVEN weeks before that when he warmed the bench and came on for about ten minutes in all, now know your stuff you numpty.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am sure his contract situation would have played a part. The lad is the future of this club, and is probably our most valuable asset who we were waiting to tie down to a long term contract, which we did, unfortunately he sustained a knee injury not long after

23 Jan 2012 16:53:41
It's clear for all to see that it didn't work out for Bilyaletdinov at Everton but £2.5m is a joke going by today's transfer market values.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Probably gt 7 million but everton sayin 2.5 {Ed025's Note - maybe harry pumpkin face did the negotiations..

And put it in his dogs account {Ed025's Note - or his PAL..or his CHUM..but it still wont make us WIN A LOT..

another player leaves everton wearing the cursed number 7 shirt worn formaly by the likes of bent alexanderson and van der meyde and now bily to thats list! such a wasted talent by moyes {Ed025's Note - sometimes a manager makes mistakes, and this was one of them..

Believable2 Unbelievable2

23 Jan 2012 16:37:36
The Bilyaletdinov story is 100% true. Confirmed by his club with reports flying all over the place. Good news indeed.

when were so short of money why did we decide to pay mcfadden a nice wage for doing not much on the pitch ..in any other business heads would roll for wasting money but this is only my opinion and im only a fan..and saha dont start me.. {Ed025's Note - good point..

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Apparently wigan want to sign him (Daily mail today reported on skysports paper talk) so maybe a shrewd move by moyes to sign him for free and sell him for a profit

James

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't see another player leaving and McFadden is only on a contract til the end of the season, when he will leave on a free

Agree0 Disagree0

James, I haven't heard Moyes and the word 'shrewd' in the same sentence for a very long time. I don't reckon he thinks that far ahead. Sack the ginger one!

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't mcfadden only contracted until the end of the season (less than 6 months), so a fee is highly unlikley. it's not like we got him on the books for 5 years! if he goes he will go on a free.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're all fans. But do we matter?

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember we got maca outside of the window, so its not really a waste, and with injuries coming as fast and as many as they are he might well be needed....byn

Sky have reported that they will show 15 live matches over a month - everton are the only team not to be shown that I can see, is that because viewin figures would plummet
Let's face it evertonions if we don't pull out all the stops we won't be on sky atall next season!

I fear that were on the brink of ruin and I for one would love to see kenwright, Earl and co to sell the club but that's possibly years away administration is a more probable situation! Sell rodders and billy buy Dempsey and Maynard!!

Ed or anybody who knows the answer to the following question!
I have not been able to make cup games this season so ive been trying to wath them online just like i do the prem games i cant make! But so far the cup games have only been airing the audio and not video! I figured that was the cse for all cup games but i found neary all of the other games were online to watch apart from evertons (tamworth game) even non league fleetwood town were online! My question is why are evertons cup games not availiable to watch via a live stream but most other matches are? Thankyou! {Ed025's Note - sorry mate i dont know, but maybe one of the guys can enlighten you..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Last 5 home games against the might of Stoke, Norwich, Swansea, Bolton and Blackburn:

P5 W1 D2 L2 F4 A5

Those who think it's all about money must be right though eh. How could we possibly compete with the astronomical spending power of these Premier League giants in our own back yard?

Ten points dropped from these fixtures, only four goals (one which clearly should not have stood and one fluke from our keeper) from 450 minutes of football and some of the most boring, gutless, turgid displays of football I've ever witnessed, at any level of the game, and some people still think it is purely a matter of money?

God give me strength... Absolute bulls**t of the highest order.

When we get beat by the likes of City, Utd, Spurs etc of course money plays a part in it. And by the way, by pointing some portion of the blame at someone other than BK for our recent pathetic displays does not mean I don't acknowledge where the main route of our problem lies.

However, when you witness the utter rubbish like we have in our last 5 games at Goodison, ATTITUDE has played a far greater role in our abysmal performances than a lack of money ever will.

And this stinking attitude starts with our boring, negative, one dimensional, gutless manager and has now infiltrated our entire squad.

But hey, let's give them an easy ride and hide behind the no money arguement shall we?

By doing so takes all accountability away from the manager and players alike. Until that mind-set changes, I'm afraid that we're going to be stuck with watching some of the worst displays of football any of us have ever witnessed in our lifetimes.

We deserve much much better than this, money or no money.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

So impressed with your loyalty! After all what has Moyes ever done for us! Am I p!ssed off with the displays the lack of goals and the lack of cash, god yeah.

Give him a stay of execution will ya (previous years performance have earned some leeway), anyone could see this was going to be a hard season with our sell, sell sell culture.

I'm not happy, but get behind the team and try to get us through this season still in the premier league

I would like to start with the rumour of Cerci a very decent player who passed up the chance to join city in the summer because he doesnt want to leave Italy and with all the money and trophies he was offered there and turned them down sadly he wont be joining us its all speculation unless it is stated by Moyes or the ECHO reports it. Also some facts when people on here post saying that we are signing so and so and say its from sky sports, ECHO (rumour mill) or BBC they are just publishising the rumours from papers they often leave a source underneath so i wouldnt buy it. I believe we shall do more buissness in this window with also some departures but most likely on deadline when clubs and players are vunerable and pannick and thinking about we have already signed 2 players this window which is very good for us 6 in all this season ( Drenthe, Strac, Faddy, Hahnamen, Donavon and Gibson) which is very good and suprising for us and also giving new and improved contracts to players so Kenwright with whatever money he does have goes straight into the club or is swollowed by the blood sucking banks with Bill just trying his best to keep the club stable and possibly out of administration dont blame bill he is just waiting for the right buyer he doesnt want us to be like birmingham, pompy, leeds etc, also i have never been so appaled or imbarresed to be an everton fan after to abuse Bill got coming out of his car and he was right about the blue union ruining the club were a club who sticks together through thick and fin .I do believe Moyes should be doing a better job with his team selection and negativity etc anyway us Toffees should do what we know best get behind the boys filling out the stands and making as much noice as possible making teams be scared of coming to Goodison and if the fans show negativity so will the players.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Great point i was also imbarresed with the fans abuse to kenwright outside the ground

Agree0 Disagree0

Wat abuse gt asked a few questions hes had an easy ride up 2 now he's the chairman of everton football club so he's the leader n figure head of r club needs to stand up now n lead the club nt act like a spoilt baby .the simple fact in his tenure he's made sum bad horrendous mistakes embarrassing statements the manager has saved him for the past 5 years .

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenwright s board hasn't backed moyes at all t.her commercial n sponsorships have never been of the standard befitting a club of everton size mistakes in takin the club forward I.e stadium investment have been totally useless everton fans should b really proud of themselves they've acted in they way proper fans should knowledgable loyal n not in a vicious way. {Ed025's Note - i agree with that mate..

David moyes does need to take some responsibity for his decisions and team selections. BUT the problem is all down to the board no money and no hope of taking the club forward. If we supporters feel like that then the players feel the same yes they get paid a load of money but I just don't think the players belief anymore, the game is all about money now whoever spends the most has the most success, yes it's dm job to motivate the players but he can't give them confidence that's something that just comes through winning and unfortunately we can't do that. Yes we have better players than Swansea, Norwich, Blackburn and Bolton unfortunately they are all our defenders & midfielders if we had a top striker who would make a impact it would breath confidence to the rest of the team and they would all be wanting & looking for the ball then play watchable football. We can all come on here saying we should play this system and this line up, I have myself saying why not play 3-5-2 or 3-4-3 and Saha & billy are a waste of space but I don't think dm wants to put Barkley or vellios into a team with no confidence incase it damages their development. Dm has tried to play 4-4-2 and it did not work and he got crucified for it he's damned if he does & damned if he doesn't a lot of people have a go at him for sticking to 4-5-1 that it's ancient and teams no how to counter against it, but spurs have played that formation this season and I don't see anyone complaining about that, difference is yes spurs do have more quality but they play with confidence. I think we would be in bottom three now if we had someone other than dm, yes if he was replaced it might give the place a short term boost as a new manager always does but it would not be the answer we have one of the best managers now who needs the backing the only other way of giving the players confidence is getting right behind the team and make sure they believe again. COYB or I afraid come the end of the season dm will walk I know he won't go now he loves the club to much and has shown his loyalty to us and kept his integrity to leave us at this point.IMWT to all on the EFC board sell up and save the club.

To be honest the talk that this is the worst team yet are you lot muppets what about dogs of war days the problem is we were close a few seasons to breaking down the top 4 that was when we needed investment moyes stated that at the time how much money has he spent over last 2 seasons nothing that's why we are struggling you have to improve team every year we won most games when we were top 6 club 1-0 a lot of the time but teams are more attacking now so you don't get many games like that no more, you have to say but if moyes finishes 8th he has done well, let's face it even qpr can outbid us and probably most teams in the championship clubs if you look top 8 clubs moyes u are a legend and one of the best managers in the league if u average out his league position in last 6 years we would be top 6

I agree with you but right now would take top 12, BSM

Lower your price Bill!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

If im not mistaking the guy who has bought reading tried to buy into everton some time ago anton zingarevich and his father boris the fortress sport fund but surprise surprise it came to nothing seems that reading have more to offer than r great club with its fantastic fanbase and brilliant history or maybe they were asking for a fair price r u listening bill and if it doesnt get any worse jelavic favours a move to the s$$$e well they can have him not that we could afford him anyway 1 consolation however they will turn im from a good player into a rubbish player like carroll downing henderson adam etc etc etc ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Jan 2012 11:44:26
PART 1

the biggest problem at everton is not the lack of money (problem though that is) it's the fact that our players are no longer closing the opposition down quickly (or even at all)

that's it - end of

we can all see it in the stands

up until midway in our own half, their guys are getting more or less as much time as they want on the ball from their defence outwards - whereas as soon as we get the ball the opposition comes flying in at us and ries to get the ball off us - so our guys always look under pressure - with no outlet often - hence hoofing it to nowhere (back to them)

even really crap struggling teams come up against evertyon and within 10 minutes they realise that we don't close down - so they think - "hehey, excellent, this team we're up against dont close down - so we get all the time on the ball we need - we fancy this" and so they start playing the ball around and look quite a good team - even the likes of bolton and blackburn are doing it to us

it's so obvious it's embarrassing that I cant understand why moyes / round / the players cant see it

we were 1 nil up against blackburn and at the start of the second half we just started to sit back and let them have the ball ALL THE TIME- they had it nearly all the time - how is this happening FFS?

they've got a struggling team of journeymen clapped out players and they've giving us the runaround at goodison!!

how come our guys cant see this really effing obvious fact? that if you dont close down - you dont get the ball - you're always on the back foot - the other team looks better cos they get all the time they need on the ball -

its absolutelt unbelieveable that everton are not doing something about this when it's so obvios that this is why we're playing crap

the only thing I can think is that he players are doing it deliberatly to get kenwright to either eff off or get some money out

PART 2

sorry bill - you dont get to play big boys football and own a club like everton and pay nothing in at all - it costs money to own a premiership football club - and you're not putting any money in at all

it hasn't cost kenwright a penny to own everton - NOT ONE PENNY! he's got some people to loan / fund him the money and they're getting their money back via the annual repayments - and Bill expects to make a massive profit when he sells the club!

so our number one fan has paid in absolutely nout in the time he's had the club - he's gonna make a massive profit when he sells it - and he's put not a dime into the place

I used to defend him, but I cannot effing believe that a wealthy bloke like him is not prepared to fund the club by a few million when they desperately need it

and lets get this traight - he's expecting to make a profit on his purchase of somewhere like 100 million - and he's not prepared to bung in 10 or 20 million to buy us a striker or a creative midfielder when we need one?

how is this guy even showing his face when he's just completely screwing over the club?? {Ed025's Note - good post that mate..

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Best post in a long time. BSM

Agree0 Disagree0

Great post agree with it all apart from the part where you say BK will sell and make a profit. BK aint selling, he does not want to, and wont, we just have to get over this takeover nonsense it is not going to happen in the next 3 - 5 years anyway.

Hi Ed do we have any current intel on whether our board have met with any potential investors in January. Given all the Saudi, indian and Chinese investors that have supposedly been interested it would be nice for fans to hear that we have people genuinely interested in buying the club. It would certainly lift a cloud or two for a few fans on a Monday morning. {Ed025's Note - i think people have made preliminary enquiries, but when they weigh up the figures, they see us as a poor risk...£150m is unrealistic, when you think that to make us into serious

Believable3 Unbelievable1

23 Jan 2012 10:52:36
If we sell Rodwell for 15 million does DM get it all to spend on players? Feel sorry for Moyes a lot he ain't had much to spend since he came to the club. {Ed025's Note - dont feel too sorry for him...he,s paid a fantastic wage, for doing his job...and as a coach and motivator he has been seriously lacking this season, any sympathy you have should be saved for us supporters, who have to watch this rubbish week in week out!..

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Your only as good as the tools you got to work with ed? He has'nt received great financial backing. {Ed025's Note - i get your drift...but we still have a lot of quality players!..better than the likes of swansea, norwich, stoke etc, and look at them!!....they say a poor tradesman blames his tools..

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said ed! thats the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth

Agree0 Disagree0

You shouldn't feel sorry for Moyes, week in week out playing players out of position, having Barkley on the bench for 7 weeks and not bringing him on once, sticking with a useless pile of crap called Bilyledtinov when any other manager would have cut his losses a long time ago, playing one striker and 4-5-1 at home when we play teams like Stoke, West Brom, Wolves, Wigan etc etc, even Blackpool a couple of seasons ago we had one striker on the pitch, finally Moyes is on around £65k per week so never feel sorry for anyone on that money.

Degsybluenose {Ed025's Note - your right degsy..

Agree0 Disagree0

Degsy i don't think Moyes is on 65 grand i've been told 45 still not a bad wage tho lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally rite ed i travelled over from ireland with the family to watch that match i should be getting a refund for the money spent watching that rubbish its the fans who r suffering doubt if ill be back for a while feel a bit of a traitor saying that supporting them all my life but am well fed up with this situation were in ps love this site great for getting it off your chest sorry u have to listen to it ed ur a star

Agree0 Disagree0

What does it matter what he's on? at the end of the day he could be at almost any other club in the prem. but he continues with us - give him some support. youre right we do have some quality in our squad, but when theyre not playing at their best what can you do? bring on barkley? (with a knee injury, know your stuff before you post please). ed i keep on noticing you always agreeing and commenting on how bloody great posts are...when they blame moyes. If youre going to be so obvious about it why dont you stop hiding, come out and tell us what you really think. instead of 'oh ill make my decision about moyes and the board at the end of the season' and continue to heap praise on those who disrespect him...

at the end of the day theres only so much you can do as a manager. he hasnt managed the players the best this season but things just havent worked. can you blame that on him? {Ed025's Note - yes i can!!..in the end if the team is not performing, and that team is made up of seasoned internationals...who do you expect me to blame?...and as far as me hiding my views..you have already stated that i compliment posters who are less than happy with the guy, so sherlock holmes can sleep easy in his bed!...the fact is that i try not to influence supporters with my own views, and by the way i also compliment posters who write intelligent articles..if i agree with them or not..

There is a time and a place for everything but i do believe this is not the time to start battering the performances or the team and Manager yes we are in a very bad run of forum at the moment the teams confedence is at an all time low. i believe we as Everton supports must put aside the anger and frustration to get behind the team and management right now.over The next two months we have to play all of the top 6 teams in the leauge. unless we get behind the lads and show them that we are in the fight with them then we might be playing our football in the championship next season and how s**t will that be!!! so i pleade with all you fellow Everton supporters wait till the end of season to unlease your wrath at the board and under preforming players. Lets get behind the team show them that we believe in them and who knows what can happen The FA cup ??
hopefully David Moyes can bring in the players we need to compete again to the standards we expect our beloved team to be. i would love to see two new strikers and one creative midfielder fingers crossed. N.S.N.O
Toffee Tino {Ed025's Note - i agree about getting behind the team tino, but its hard to enthuse about the team, when we are playing such guff..

Whilst watching the game Saturday my son turned to me an asked "why do Blackburn seem to be able to pass th ball so easily" an thats when it dawned on me in all the years I've watched everton no matter how bad the players no matter how tactically inept the manager the players have gone out an give 100 percent not lettin players settle wantin to win the ball back but for some reason it's not happenin any more teams are getting to much time on the ball which then gives them confidence which then gives us fans the reason to moan/get on the players backs which then knocks there confidence!! Come on moyes I'm your biggest fan an would be devastated if you left but let's get the dogs of war attitude back an start earning the right to play football! Zebu dee blue imwt
