Yesterday was a bit of a warning I think. Not so much how we played, because we can play at our worst and it still looks better than anything dished up under previous regime. More the fact the energy levels were visibly down for key attacking players. Mirallas for me just didn't look interested. Pienaar huffed but the recent schedule seems to have caught up with him. Lukaku may as well not been on the pitch yesterday as good as
I think he has been. Huge credit to coleman, young Ross and the ever energetic mccarthy and barry. They carried us yesterday and we just got over the line against a suprisingly average swansea team. The worry is tiredness. This is our biggest obstacle this season. Hope to see a few options in jan. All in all, great result, great season but in order to keep it up, we can't play like yesterday.
STILL VERY SATISFIED BLUE

Jelavic will go to either the Middle East or West Ham. Good source says that he's been offered big wages, more than we are willing to pay him. Don't know if Rangers will get a percentage.

Greg okeefe said Martinez has a considerable amount of money to spend in January but is more likely to keep it for the summer and opt for loan signings in January.

Everloan aren't we

Greg O'Klown is a no nothing, clueless joke though Stef, so I wouldn't believe a word he has to say. He thinks he knows it all, but he hasn't got a clue what he's on about.

I hope bill ken wright and the board have a plan ready regarding Barkley and all our best players .we have a manager and asquad of players who have the chance over the next decade to achieve something special but ultimately it's going to be down to are boards ambition and skill to start generating money to pay competive wages at the top level . We reproducing players but need to hold on to them .we really need to grasp this opportunity

Isn't there a maximm number of loan players? I thought we already reached it.

Another win yesterday, not one of our prettiest but 3 points when playing ok shows how far we have come this season. Coleman is playing out of skin, I genuinely don't think there is a better full back combination in the league with Bainesy. McCarthy and Barry were both excellent again. Barkley brilliant (apart from the stumble). Made me chuckle when he was interviewed with Jags after the game and he said he doesn't practise free kicks. Final third we were a bit sloppy yesterday, Mirallas and Pienaar were indecisive and casual at times. Lukaku lacked service.

Was thinking earlier about what we need to do in the transfer window. First priority is not sell any of key players.

Would get shot of Heitinga and Jelavic.

Think we are covered in defence with Distin/Jags/Stones/Alcaraz/Duffy/Baines/Coleman/Oveido/Hibbo?

Centre mid we are fine

Would think therefore a wideman and a centre forward.

What do others think?

Think we do need a cm player mate.if barry or mcarthy get injured we only have ossie as back up.would love m'villa or onazi personally.

Agree0 Disagree0

With Gibbo for the season, I think we need another CM. Barry, McCarthy and Osman can play well there, and Barkley can be deployed there, but he is better in the #10 role. Meaning if Ossie, Barry or McCarthy get injured it leaves us with no back up on the bench. 1 CM/CDM, 1 striker and a CB will do me. The midfielder can be a loan tbh, because Gibbo's back at the end of the season and Lundstram will also be more experienced.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alistair I agree with pretty much everything you say here.
true reflection of yesterdays game.
mirallas and pienaar didn't do enough. Defensively we are sound. I would still like another CM though especially with Gibson out. And of course we need a quality striker.
The good thing is though I trust Robbie implicitly to make sure we have a good jan window

Agree0 Disagree0

Yep good point on a centre mid. For some reason I had in my head that Gibbo was back in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ideally a CDM who can play CB, Joel Matip would be ideal, and a winger come striker in the Mirallas mould. Easier said than done especially in January. Priority should be a CDM as we're light there as with only Barry and McCarthy, Ossie isn't effective enough in that position. Mirallas can play up top if push comes to shove, as can Naisy in a crisis.

I'd take advantage of the abundance of unused strikers in Serie A - milito, Asamoah, Giovonco.

Totally agree. Some top strikers not playing great deals over there. Would add Mirko Vucinic to that list too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take Asamoah and Giovinco in a heart beat.

Does anyone else have a man-crush on RM? Surely I can't be the only one.
