Tom to start on Sat with Morgan out, shame for Morgan he played well last week, good for Tom to make his mark though.

Absolutely. I have seen some critiscism of him on here. Outrageous! A kid scores a wonder goal against Man City but then does not repeat it so is slated by some. He is a kid! Same with Holgate. Last season was thrown into a struggling side! These 2 will be so important for our future, believe me!

A huge critic of Schneiderlin, largely because last season in particular the lad not only let my faith in him down but let his own standards slide into the basement, his attitude and general demeanour was appalling. First two games this season and we appear to have the first season player back. Hopefully his injury is not long term and we see this new positive Schneiderlin back soon. Meanwhile it gives the likes of Davis a good run out and a chance to see he can lift his head.

This just shows that last season's management didn't manage some of these guys properly.

Tom deserves a run after his performance against Southampton. In fact the three youngsters did well. Tom has better positional discipline than the rest of our midfielders. Dcl has really filled out looks so much stronger.

Early season I know but it sure is good to feel the positivity.
I posted a rather optimistic wish list for the season a few weeks back. One wish was to see that Holgte and DCL get plenty of game time. I would like to see Holgate start again at the weekend with Calvert Lewin sub.
I think the time to start the new signings would be midweek in the League Cup game which I believe is incidentally a VAR match.

I like your thinking Tedster. Big advocate of those 2 myself, particularly Holgate. Hope they kick on this season.

Bolasie in the stands at Villa. Good Luck, shame injuries and poor management put a stop to you and maybe some other circumstances he would have be a cult hero.

His touch is horrific mate. He looked good when he first came but that was more to do with how poor we were on the wings and he give us a direct approach and some penetration were it was before lacking.

Lukaku’s touch still is horrific but we got £90m for him.

Bolasie should never have made the move. He was a hero at oalace and is now looking at the Championship.

Lukaku is a proven goal scorer though and doesn't confuse himself with the ball. The lukaku comparison does not make any point mate. Bolasie doesn't have the end product and lukaku won't drop a league any time soon.

Bolassie was fine till he got injured mate.

It was a joke BT. We’d be lucky to get £9m for Bolasie. Lukaku is a proven goal scorer but for me is a flat track bully. We robbed Utd because £90m should buy you a striker who gets crucial goals in big games, not someone who gets two or three a game against bottom eight teams but goes missing against the top six. His overall goal tally for us and Utd masks him going missing in a number of big matches.

I agree GB. He looked a top player at Palace but his injury has really affected him. He may benefit from a season in the Championship to get his mojo back.

I wouldn’t say we robbed Utd as he would cost a lot more now.

We see Bolasie's performances but what do we really know about what he has gone through. The injury was the most serious you get in football and over 50% never recover either physically or mentally. He has had a tough ride and I wish him well.

{Ed025's Note - i agree smeggs and i have to say i was well chuffed when we signed him, it has not worked out for him but i do wish him well mate..

Not a case of never learning GB. Williams was a very good CB but unfortunately his legs and thus his timing went 2 or 3 seasons ago. The red cards are not due to malicious intent but because of his speed and thus timing issue being depleted. I think we needed a CB at the time and Williams was supposed to be a stop gap.

Excellent article from our CEO on how the new board will do it the Everton way and when referring to Marcel call him Papa Marcel, very good read.

Ed025, I've tried to post on the Everton site a couple of times to wish you all the best, but for some reason it doesn't go through. I'm being sincere in my hope that Everton get back to the level that you all belong. Fantastic club, fantastic fans, fantastic history. Liverpool and Everton should battle it out for trophies year in and year out. I like your manager and your style of play. All the best.

{Ed025's Note - cheers stone, yeah mate it would be great if merseyside could rule the roost like we did in the 80,s. we are very happy with the way the club is heading at the moment and even though its early days there is a good feeling about the place, its a million miles from last season and we have a lot to look forward to especially with the new ground on the horizon...good luck yourself mate..
