Never thought I would say this about Moyes but he's gone down in my esteem . In one word - person

Moyes: I Would Have Sold Stars
CLUB NEWS ' AUGUST 23, 2013 BY FOLLOWTONIANS ' 1 COMMENT
David Moyes has added more fuel to the Baines/Fellaini transfer saga by suggesting he would have found it hard it turn down £28million for the pair.

After being hero worshipped for eleven years, Moyes is becoming a figure of hate amongst the fans who once loved him.

After being asked whether he had sympathy for Roberto Martinez, Moyes said:

"I definitely do. but if I was the Everton manager and Sir Alex had come asking for Baines and Fellaini, I would have been very hard to resist"

Moyes also suggested Everton should sell their two stars "For the good of their careers."

Moyes was responding to Everton's labelling on the £28million bid for the duo as "derisory and insulting".

Roberto Martinez also added today: "Maybe it sounds a bit repetitive, but we do not want any bids {Ed025's Note - i think moyes will, or has, turned into a hate figure, which is a shame really as he done a great job for us. but he has not done much to endear himself to the blues fans, there is a proper way to do things, and he has come up well short. one thing a blue cherishes is loyalty, and even when arteta went he done it in the right way...so hang your head in shame david, you could have been a legend, but will now be remembered as a bellend..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tell u one thing moyes is certainly put the boot into bill kenwright .moyes knows how bill works, the restraints everything about everton . This week is really about bill kenwrights chairmanship of everton .tell moyes to piss off, .u made a statement when roberto came to everton about champions league .n not a need to sell are best players .i feel Felliani will be sold as I feel Martinez wants to trade for other players but by selling Baines after the last few weeks would make us look a joke

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Ed!

Agree0 Disagree0

The pressure is clearly getting to the man. I can not possibly adequately describe how I feel about the man on this site but suffice it to say he's a hypocrite of the highest order, and lost all credibility he ever had.
I never ever thought I'd say this but I hope the RS smash them, as well as chelski.
Who does he think he is. Feck me, unbelievable.

Agree0 Disagree0

And if he really wants what's best for players careers why doesn't he let a clearly unhappy Rooney leave for another club? {Ed025's Note - good point mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

After fuming this morning with the latest comments from the ginger devil, the end piece from you Ed has made me p*ss laughing, your usually a bit more diplomatic than that. But well said and I and many many more blues would agree with you.I never heard moyes spouting his mouth off like this when managing us.The man is a hypocrite.

Agree0 Disagree0

And so the truth comes out! It would appear that a man we put our trust and faith in is nothing more than a self serving reptile, who cares nothing for anyone other than himself and his career.

Enjoy your dream job Mr Moyes while it lasts. Enjoy insulting and disrupting Everton. Enjoy acting the big time Charlie while you can. Because when you have been found out as a one trick pony and are managing Stoke, Hull, or whatever small team that are prepared to take you on out of desperation we are sure as hell going to enjoy rubbing your nose in it every time you come to Goodison!

david moyes has said everton need to sell leighton baines and marouane fellaini for the good of their careers. well golum seems you are getting desperate and need to try to get them to put in transfer requests so you won't get moaned at by the mancs too bad so sad, he really is getting under my skin now and not only do I want him to fail at united I want him to fail everywhere he goes in fact let's push it even more I hope you never get a job anywhere, suffer like the rest of us average people, you may of put in an insulting bid for our players you may of cheated us into no compensation and you may not of given mucha a new contract but we will not stand for this!

although I don't believe a word the daily mail says I still posted this just in case be may of said it, if not then meh still hate him :)

Agree0 Disagree0

This should actually strengthen the resolve of Kenwright and chums.
Moyes knows he's not getting them so now he resorts to belittling, bullying tactics. Showing his true colours now.

follow follow follow, everton is the team to follow! forget mickel arteta because ross barkley, s better! he, s the best little scouser we know!

sing about Ross fine, but I don't understand having a dig at Arteta

I agree with second poster. use someone else instead of Arteta because he was simply a class evertonian and has the respect of every one of us. unlike Moyes

degs

Agree0 Disagree0

Second poster come on. its hardly having a dig at mikel arteta as every everton fan still hold arteta very highly. it was arteta's song hence the reference and anyway what's wrong with forgetting arteta? I liked him but then he left and moved on, as you should. this is the same arteta that last season tried to get gibbo sent off.
1878barlow

Agree0 Disagree0

Its because it rymmes don't forget arteta thought the grass was greener he, s won nothing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arteta is used so the song rhymes. I don't think the op is having a dig at Arteta
Blue kaz

Agree0 Disagree0

Its as a compliment to arteta aswell! get a grip will ya! forget is not slagging him off, its finally having someone as good if not better to move on and stop living of arteta, s memories!

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he is having a dig at arteta, his name just rhymes with the word better.

Moyse clearly having a go back at Everton in his press conference. All are entitled to make an offer and everyone is free to accept or reject a bid privately or publicly, he says, obviously taking a tilt at the hand that fed him for so long. I doubt somehow that there are cosy chats between BK and Moyse these days. Surprised no one among the press had the balls to ask him if he would have accepted the 28 million pound bid if he had still been in charge at Everton. his answer would have been so interesting to hear. Seems to be a case of Once a Blue now a Red and I don't look back. A lively reception awaits you David when you revisit the club you said you were proud to manage.

Hi all toffee's Manchester United fan here

I am a big admirer of Baines don't think he is best LB in world but defo right up there
Fellani has been great for Everton but I think he will play a deeper role for United if we sign them
I think You need the money Moyes knows that and I thnk you have every right to squeeze what you can from United.
But you know Mr Kenwright will sell but only last minute so he won't have to give Martinez the money to rinvest he did it to moyes on many an occasion. He will take 35m at the last min but and he is only dragging it out so he runs the clock down.
I genuinely wish you a good season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are you trying to state the obvious? Still think your about £5m out tho.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines is not going to happen ken, I'm afraid. You may get Fellaini but on our terms, £28m I hear.
Oh and I genuinely wish you a terrible season, and you'll be lucky to finish in the Europa league spot.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2013 19:18:19
first of all who is better than baines? marcelo (backheel to ronaldo and he is quoted as the best left back in the world), cole (finished and lost any pace he had), coentrao (cant defend and is a benchwarmer), alba (so good valencia sold him on the cheap also his fault for all bayerns goals and was ripped into by lucas moura vs psg, all pace nothing more) or evra? (lol) and secondly if this deadline day sale happens and martinez gets nothing then I will hate him and if he sells baines he will be as southall says 'lynched'

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats great news ken, we have spent 6m at the moment with the extra revenue so i'd say we prob don't need the money, I know yous are desperate to sign somebody and although I agree its happened before if he does sell last minute it would be his biggest mistake as no everton fan would stand for it, good luck though mate I reckon you lot have a good chance of champs league football this year

MikeDeBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the wishes but to be honest Ken I honestly believe that this time you may be more desperate to buy than we are to sell. Without jumping the gun and judging Martinez too early I'm very much under the belief that Moyes may have been the bigger issue when it came to our transfer woes as he quite often came out and openly stated Bill gave him full control. It seems as there may have been a bigger picture about Moyes taking over united for instance his ability to work on a shoestring budget.

SydneyBlue

Agree0 Disagree0

So you insult our players, chairman and club and then wrap it all in a nice bow by wishing us well. Baines IS the best left back in Europe, IF we do sell our Chairman will do what he considers best for the club and if anybody 'runs down the clock' it's your non entity of a manager who has sold his soul and lost his morals into the bargain.

Popeye

Agree0 Disagree0

You have no chance of signing anyone while you continue to let Mickey Mouse do the valuations Ken.

SydneyBlue. You took the words right out of my mouth regards Moyes mate, just seen on Sky Moyes saying United may not sign anyone in this window. Where have I heard that one before?

Agree0 Disagree0

There is not one chance in a million that these two player will join unt for 35mill, you want the best, you pay the going rate, 20m, 30mill or . off.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think we are desperate but no doubt they both would improve our squad as I said best of luck and I hope and I think you will do at least as well as last year if you can keep your sound defensive record with or without Baines. I like the loan from Barca I hear he is a top prospect. i'm sure we will do well under Moyes and as pi33ed off as most of you are at the moment I think in ten years time you will look back and think DM did a good job for your club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Op, that's the thing man u think we need to sell so can rip us off as u did with arsnel. come back on sep 2nd an say it again. they will both still be here they not assed about going to united world cup year they will both defo play here so won't hand in a request and we won't sell for less than silly money. guaranteed.

Neville Southall = legend!

Loved his comments re Moyes etc. :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tremendous, the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Agree0 Disagree0

David moyes is acting like a real arrogant nob .neville southall is saying it like it needs to be said, as fans and as a club are mindset needs to change if we really want to compete near the top .this can only begin to happen if are chairman makes a statement of intent .tell moyes to piss off, forget about the 11 years, because he has, nothing but hostility .this week bill kenwright can earn a lot of respect amongst blues, or as Neville says he will be the target of bad abuse .i think tm Baines will realise how much he means to everton, as for felliani my impression is his head is elsewhere .dont sell baines

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2013 13:54:54
Do you think that we may make a move for Vadis Odijia-Ofoe from Bruge. Deal was completed in time 2 years ago? Or was it a Moyes player?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

23 Aug 2013 12:52:04
think all you everton fans are dillusional you think a 29 year old player who had one good season should be valued at 20 million united paid around 24 million for rvp last year who was 29 which he is experienced at the very top level 1 ov the best strikers in the world brings atleast 30 goals a season and assists a lot of goals aswell a player who can win a match single handidly a special player and use think baines is worth 4 million or so less than him he not even experienced at the very top level really by that I mean champs league and title fights no experience there and regarding the wigs valuation by use is riducolus haha 30 mill for some one again whos not experienced at very top level by that a mean the same as what I said about baines plus he is a liability on the pitch you never no if he going to end up getting sent of or not there is a lot of players that I think are a lot better that play in same position and are probly valued at around 30 mill gundogan is one for example and all of use are on here saying other teams are over valueing there players like wigan with mcarthy according to use anyway haha hypacritcal or wat

Believable0 Unbelievable0

1 good season pmsl, try best left back in prem 4 seasons running, on of the best setpeice takes in the WORLD. he is defo worth 18-20m if you don't like it go look for someone better for less!

45 mil for the pair is a min price
toffeeblue

Agree0 Disagree0

Fine then, don't bid as we don't want to sell anyway.
baines is the best lb in the world at the moment and if you think were going to sell cheap just because your man u and think u can use bully tactics well your wrong, either way we are in control, we demand at least 25m each, put up or shut up

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines stats say it all so no need to even debate that with you, fellaini cost 17.5 5 years ago and has improved a hell alot, he is a regular in a very good Belgium national team, he is still young so will still improve and he was our top scorer last season so 30 million is a very fair price especially when the like of Henderson cost 20. So YOU or use are entitled to your opinion but its wrong :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2013 14:29:34
one good season lol what about van persie injured for every season but one for arsenal and baines has been class for 4 years and created more chances than messi, ronaldo, ozil, silva, mata, fabregas and iniesta think about that plus if gareth bale is going for 94m baines and fellaini should be valued the same, people may disagree but would evertonians swap both baines and fellaini for gareth bale straight swap? I know I wouldnt

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2013 14:32:30
plus gundogan valued at 30m? okay then put a 30m bid in for him and dortmund will laugh in your face and hypocritical? your fans are moaning at mourinho for tapping up players and trying to unsettle them with low bids when youse are doing it to us, now who is hypocritical?

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't looked at the stats, I can't be bothered, but I think you'll find that RVP was the one who was bought off the back of one good season.

Prior to his last season at Arsenal, he wasn't setting the work on fire

TJ

Agree0 Disagree0

How dare we try and charge United a premium for our best players? What nerve.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines has been arguably the most consistent performer in the BPL for the past 3 years.
You got RVP for 24 mill because he was in the last year of his contract. Baines still has 2 years and Felli has 3.
I know Felli can be a liability sometimes, but he's immense more than a liability nowadays. And case in point, he was unplayable against you last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

You tell me a player (LB/LWB) who is as good, available and of the same value, same salary? If you can I would personally drive baines to you myself.

The problem is its hard to replace the best like for like, jog on anyway.

OP Having read your post a few times, (a necessity to translate the atrocious spelling and grammar) I was going to bring up the meaning of the word "Delusional" If you truly think Baines has only had one good season.

However, on reflection it would be totally unethical to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed person.

23 Aug 2013 15:06:30
Why are you guys even bothering to respond? It's clear this kid is a WUM who has no clue whatsoever!

Agree0 Disagree0

To OP Doesn't matter what you think they're worth mate because your manager has just came out and pretty much admitted you can't afford them or anyone for that matter :) thank god us blues now have a manager who doesn't play games with us regarding transfers as 11 years of that was enough. Enjoy

sydney blue

Agree0 Disagree0

Possibly the longest sentence I have ever read without a single full stop. I became quite breathless at one point. You don't like it when a club refuses to bow to the old Ferguson esq bully boy tactics. Baines possibly the best LB in the world and Fellaini one of the best CM players. The offer that your club made was a piss take and I would rather see Baines and Fellaini hang their boots up than ever put on a Utd shirt. By the way old Davey Moyes will come crying back to the blues when it all goes pear shaped and he has won fxck all, Mourino and Pellegrini will wipe the floor with him. (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines has had one good season has he? That's why he was in the PFA Team of the Year in 2011/12?!?! What a person!

Agree0 Disagree0

RVP was in the last year of his contract you muppet! Jog on

Agree0 Disagree0

To OP. 30 mill for rvp after 1 good season.i was surprised u lot paid yhat for a 20 mill striker.but as a top 4 team set a price u stick to it.think you have gods gift to beat non-top 4 teams down regarding transfer fees.u only signed 1 player up to now and he was plying his trade for the dog and duck pub

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines a liability to be sent off? :S I can't recall him ever being sent off in his time at Everton. If someone knows if this has happened then please, inform me. The OP has to be the most delusional person I have ever heard of/seen. There simply is no reasonable or rational reply because the post screams out idiocy and ignorance. He's clearly been staring at a brick wall for the past 3/4 years and making ridiculous decisions about fantastic and consistent professional footballers, off the collar.

Whats the chances of starting with two forwards tomorrow? Would be interesting to see if Kone and Jelli could work together. Oh and on another point, I would still have Diame any day if Felli left, think he's a cracking player.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree mate re Diame. Would slot straight into our team to replace Felli.
I would also break the bank to get Luke Shaw to replace Baines. Have a watch of him. Very similar to Baines but only 18. ie direct at running at defenders. Probably stronger defensively but that will show in time.

Surely Defoe is worth a bid for me 4 strikers are needed Jelavic kone anichibe Defoe is going to struggle to get picked and must relise a World Cup place is in trouble as I see england taking 4 strikers and 2 places gone with Rooney and wellbeck providing stay free on injuries that leaves 2 places up for grabs so here are contenders

1. Carroll - will play week in week out if fit upto him to deliver

2. Lambert- again will play huge amount of games and will score goals

3. Sturridge- will play well this season depends on Suarez if he stays do they both play? He will score goals but how many

4. Defoe- really his last chance to play in World Cup although he has been regular in england squads his place for spurs is going to be from bench and although he will score goals will he play enough to warrant that call up

So that's about it I think there could be few late contenders if anyone has fantastic season like abonglaour but I would say its 2 from the 4 I picked as it stands I think Sturridge and lambert will go as we will take a target man and lambert is far better than Carroll has lambert is great link man as well ice cool on penalties which you can't ignor so Defoe needs to make a decision he may need to leave London to get first team football but will get goals go on Martinez offer 5 million

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Still think it's funny that everyone is saying certain players need to move to make England's World Cup Squad and they might not even make it to the World Cup.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2013 14:49:29
so we buy a greedy injury prone 30 year old who has maybe half a season left in him just to get him to the world cup? no he is crap and waste of money plus don't matter how cool lambert is at penalties because lampard, rooney and gerrard all come before him ed do you rate defoe and would you buy him? {Ed025's Note - i do rate him, but he,s not likely to move away from london IMO..

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2013 16:47:16
what I meant ed is if he wanted to move here would you pay 6m for him? tbh i'd rather have kone anyways {Ed025's Note - one of our forwards would have to go for that too happen skittle mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2013 19:11:22
well unless its anichebe going I don't want anyone leaving no defoe and good riddance

Defoe is deadly in the 18 yard box and is one of the best finishers in the league. I'd definitely take him for £5/6m, if Jelavic isn't doing it Defoe will.

Does anyone know what happened to our extra tv revenue? It looks like we will be amongst the lowest if not the lowest spenders in the league again - we all know the club received an extra £25 - £30m in revenue this year I've never been a BK skeptic and believed the board when they said they gave our manger all the funds the club had available - this year they clearly haven't whilst nearly all the other prem league clubs have - is this our Board showing their true intentions to divert money of the club or is it a simple lack of trust in Martinez.
