Niasse scoring goals, at least give the lad a chance until January. seems to be a nice lad who is trying hard in the under23s. what other pro would do it,

Sometimes you can try as hard as you want and you will never get a chance if the manager doesn't like you.
Maybe there is something not right with his attitude that Koeman does not like. Or maybe the U23's is his level and that's it.

23 Oct 2016 11:14:19
I agree he seems a good lad, and I respect any player who really tries for the back up teams, but he'll simply never be good enough for the first team, I'm afraid. Doesn't deserve to be treated disrespectfully, but does need to leave.

Lost to bournemouth, lost to Norwich, drew with palace and city. each game I said we were poor. First it was a blip then it's because city are the best team in the prem what's the excuse today we need to stop watching everton with blue tinted glasses.

Again, like your posts on the 'other posts' page, you are talking out of your arse. How many games have we lost under RK? Do you really believe that we are no better than we were under the last regime? We would have won the game if their keeper didn't make so many saves, we were the better team throughout. Yes we lost but it wasn't from a lack of trying. If we had just lay down and let them run through us then you would have a point but that didn't happen. Get a grip of yourself lad as your posts are becoming so depressing.

23 Oct 2016 08:44:51
Skylark, are you seriously comparing us with the team of the last 3 years? I would agree that we still need some creative midfielders and another goalscorer. But players like Mirallas and Barkley are capable of scoring but are misfiring a bit at the moment. In all honesty we should have won that game easily. We dominated and had twice as many shots as them . Twice as many shots on target and committed fewer fouls. One of their players should have been sent off and overall we are gutted to have lost. Last season we played so many games where we looked like we would never score. At least in yesterdays game it was a shock when they scored.

Burnley have not conceded more than 1 goal at home since 2015, a 19 game run. That tells you something about the organisation of the side at home. Bournemouth are no pushovers and have just held Spurs who are tipped to be title challengers. Instead of constantly looking for negatives be grateful we have a management team in place to move us forward. On another day, they go down to 10 men and we win by 3 or 4 goals, but that didn't happen. They had a plan to sit back and suffocate us, which they executed well. It's early in the season and we are still experimenting with tactics and formations as the management team didn't get a full pre season. I know it's a banter site and every poster is entitled to opinions but the same posts become monotonous, and get put on the other posts section as even the Eds are bored of it.

Agree with spudv and Degsy. All some people want to do is give out. Club going in a good direction. Things will get better with time. Some people just won't allow time to improve things. IMHO we have improved plenty in the short time this new regime is here.

Agree1 Disagree1

23 Oct 2016 11:16:42
The way I look at it; Koeman has done everything right so far and we've been going in the right direction, but there is still strong hints of Martinez's influence in the team. Hopefully this will be ironed out over time and we'll stop throwing away points like this.

Agree2 Disagree0

23 Oct 2016 11:52:18
In fairness skylark we dominated against Burnley, Heaton and Keane had blinders for them and nine times out of 10 afield miss controls the volley and putsit in row z. it was one of those games.
Look at ronny at saints last year. had a blip of a few games where he lost, got his act together and they came back stronger. Efc will be the same.
Do need a decent January though.

23 Oct 2016 12:38:20
maybe its simply the team strength overall is just not good enough! Remember RK and the directors talk about a project, which I'm sure will take time to initiate, we had a reasonably unsuccessful pre season in terms of strengthening in numbers, what has come in has improved but we have a squad full of players that cannot make us any better at this time.

Let's actually give Burnley a bit of credit, they beat Liverpool at home only lost to Arsenal to a last minute goal, 1 minute over the allocated stoppage time, yes maybe we should have done better but Burnley sat back and at times had 8 players inside there own penalty area, our keeper was at fault for their first and the midfield didn't track the runner for their second against the run of play. We clearly lack that cutting edge up front with Rom and even direct balls were coming back due to him not winning a header. Burnley will continue to pick up points at home against better sides and will probably stay up by doing this, let's not get down and expect to be going to places like Turf Moor to turn the home team over, this is the Premier League and that doesn't happen often. Yes I expected 3 points today, we lost and go home empty handed, but I have faith in the management team to get us back on track next week against West Ham.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

22 Oct 2016 20:27:08
Why blame Rom for not holding on to the ball. From what I seem the defence was poor except for Williams, the midfield was poor except for Gama and a couple of times Bolaisie. Except for the goal I didn't see a decent pass from the creative players such as Ross, Kev and Gerry. If it was up to me I would bring Kone back in team he can't do any worse.

22 Oct 2016 20:33:20
It was burnley we should be winning these games yes they reds but we've got no one on the bench the squad looks thin so should we be looking at niasse.

Agree3 Disagree1

22 Oct 2016 21:12:41
Koeman this season has used Gerry, Kevin, Ross and Cleveleys this season and at the moment it has not work. So give Kone a few games at least he can hold the ball up front.

Agree0 Disagree3

22 Oct 2016 21:16:33
Blue I wasn't blaming Rom I was saying we lacked creativity to go with him, it was the way I wrote it. We need to find a way to stretch teams when they are putting men behind the ball. And maybe utilising Mirrallas as a striker and going 4-4-2 with Bolasie and Delboy on the flanks. We will have more games like this and it will be a long hard season with the squad we have before a clearout in the summer.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Oct 2016 09:45:10
Said it before, the selected bench overall is just not strong enough to enable game changing substitutions. Recent performances are just beginning to edge over the border between blip and worry. Never the less I have faith in Koeman and his Team, the guy went through the same points of inconsistency at Southampton and come the end of the January I am convinced we will begin to see Koemans Squad take shape.

22 Oct 2016 18:18:28
We all need to face facts gerry, kevin oviado, cleaverly, valencia, kone, an am gona say ross are just not good enough players who we need to get rid of ross how long does he need to find form not for me i'd play davis at least he will play with heart ross looks like he can't be asssed we have all been blinded by these players beacause r team as been so poor last season that we acsept they r ok big changes need and it we don't spend in jan i can see big questions bein asked by us fans and are best players leaving for bigger things and ya can't blame them.

23 Oct 2016 12:49:03
I see average players who have been given the benefit of the doubt about there ability for far to long now. Hopefully our manager can see the same. Otherwise we will stay a average team with average players. Now if your happy with that then fine. I am not, and neither are other supporters. That doesn't mean we don't support our team. Always have and always will.

Agree0 Disagree1

23 Oct 2016 13:38:58
You say about getting rid of Ross and a few others. How do you propose replacing them? Who do you propose replacing them with? How will we get round the FFP rules if your replacements cost big money? If you cannot answer those simple questions, I suggest we hold onto those players until we have found replacements because wiining football matches means you usually need 11 players.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Oct 2016 15:01:06
Didn't see anywhere where he said get rid off Ross. Think he's right a spell in the 23s might do him good. As for who you would replace him with, we'll promote one of the youngsters from under 23s. Let's face it they couldn't do any worse.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Oct 2016 17:53:08
Oh dear that was tough to take. But the improvement is there at times. We could have easily won that game with a bit more clinical finishing. Roll on the next game and let's get a few more wins. We knew we would not be top and to be fair we should have come out of that game with something. It is nowhere near as bad as last season. maybe the season before. but not the last one. that had a team heading for relegation!

Talk about a slog sorry but cannot see any difference in this garbage and martinezs brand of football absolutely terrible possession football and no end product needed needed needed another forward and for some unreal reason they refuse point blank to buy one . Boring draws and defeats just put the fecking ball in the back of the net and stop tippy tappy pass them to death rubbish and buy a proper flippin keeper whos going to play well every game ahhhhhhhhh.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

22 Oct 2016 17:23:38
It will come good. Main thing is though we do not seem to have the quality on the bench that can make a real difference in particular we need a solid alternative to Lukaku.

Agree2 Disagree2

22 Oct 2016 17:25:59
Could be worse. Moyes could still be our manager and we might of not won a game yet. And we could be Sunderland supporters :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Oct 2016 17:33:06
Think we where the only prem club to make a profit in the transfer window, that says it all, Bill it will only come good if we spend money.

Agree1 Disagree2

22 Oct 2016 18:18:53
When you think about it, we were still putting the Management/ Coaching/ Scouting Team in place just prior to the end of the Window and our DoF only in place two weeks before the Window closed. We will make strides come January, an awful lot has already been done in a short period of time, Koeman said he needs two years but I still believe we will finish 7th or 6th this season. As to the statement football is unfair, no doubt Man City felt that last week. Have faith.

Agree3 Disagree1

22 Oct 2016 18:22:07
So now where measuring ourselves against Sunderland. I got slated for saying this team was only good enough to finish 10th to 14th, and because we got a lucky draw at city people on this site had a go at me saying we where much better than that. So what now? I have seen nothing that has changed my mind.

I know mate but we're a work in progress at the moment and we will have ups and downs.

We have to be patient and let Ron and his team get settled in and get a couple of windows under their belts.

I thought we played well mostly but didn't have the luck.

I was disappointed in Jags again today just like against city. He's giving that ball away cheaply and often. Maybe it's time to try Holgate with Williams and give him a bit of time off.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Oct 2016 20:21:58
Twoold2 that was a sarcastic comment about Sunderland and we are obviously not measuring ourselves against them. 10th - 14th I don't agree. I said 7th maybe 8th at worst and I'm still sticking to it.

Its the same on this site. When we do good the same posters come on and say positive things. Not too many but some do. When we do bad the 'I told you we are crap bregade' come on and leave negative posts.

We are far from the finished article. But in my mind we are improving. Once that is happening I'm happy. Some people however are not happy unless we get a bad result and they come on here to say how crap we are. They are the ones that give the impression we will never compete at the top.

They are the ones that like to see us compared to the likes of Sunderland. No disrepsct to Sunderland. They are going through a bad patch obviously. Much worse than ours.

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Oct 2016 20:35:57
Didn't say we were crap. We are just average, and average will get you mid table. That is we're we are at the moment. Hopefully it will change in January if we make the right purchases. We can only hope.

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Oct 2016 22:49:26
Some think now we have a new owner we are up on the big table. Reality is we are still building and need all aspects dealing with. better marketing and new stadium will hopefully be the start, but on the pitch we are playing catch up due to our last 20 years and the debts we have. some need to wake up and stop dreaming. I think top 6 is a good target to start.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Oct 2016 23:55:14
I was agreeing with your comment their alwaysblue until the last 2 sentences. Got a bit confused with those 2. Your kind of contradicting yourself. Top 6 would be fantastic. So the people that need to wake up and stop dreaming think we are going to finish where exactly?

Koeman said it'll take 2 years to get things to where he wants. That doesn't exactly mean we are going to be winning the premiership. Just means we will be set up the way he wants us.

2 months into this 2 year project and we're sitting in 6th. Still the majority of people are giving out? Am I missing something?

Today was disappointing. I did expect us to win but that's just the way it goes. There will be more games we will lose that we are expected to win. Guaranteed.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Oct 2016 01:52:04
Absolutely sick of the same old posters who can't wait until we drop points just so they can have a go. Ridiculous to the extreme. RK has been in the job five minutes and there are some who feel the need to have a go. Get a grip you manic depressives, Rome wasn't build in a day was it? We are in transition and, by the reckoning of our manager, it will take a couple of windows to get what he wants. We have lost two games this season yet some of you talk as if we haven't won a game. Pathetic.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Oct 2016 10:10:53
Agreed spudv. Same posters don't post anything when we get a good result. Which we have had plenty so far.

Nbtb what i ment was aim to get into the top six at end of season, we are going to drop points were we should win but top 4 is just a dream at present time. We all know players are going to move out in january let's hope better players arrive to play in koemans plans.

That's the Everton I know and love. Ponderous in possession. Minimal creativity. Some horrific passing. Players running into each other. Conceding a sloppy goal and then a last minute goal by a player who should have received a second yellow card late in the first half.

Reading an interview with Perez saying he expected a starring role at Arsenal but can't get in the side due to the form of Sanchez and Walcott. This makes you wonder if Champions League football is as good a move for players as he hasn't started in them games either. Just proves to some players football isn't always about playing as surely he would have been aware of the players in the position he was competing with. He would of been a starter every week if he would have came to us and also had a different challenge of being part of a project moving forward, or are the bright lights of London really worth sitting on the bench every week at probably the peak of your career.

Did anyone see Ashley Williams on sky's game changers this morning?
He was giving a great Q and A session with a group of primary school kids until one little girl asks 'm favourite subject is maths, what's 3 x 7'?
Queue a look of total confusion on Ashley's face. He eventually got the answer right before conceding maths wasn't his favourite subject.
Great interview and he came across as really humble and a nice guy.
