For Ross Barkley see Jack Rodwell. When are these boys realise they are at a great club with great support, and pretty decent wages. The best thing Ross could do is ring Jack and say so how did things work out for you mate.

{Ed025's Note - another good example woburn of why the grass is not always greener mate..

England managers spotted Ross’s flaws before we did, I would love him to stay and prove us wrong, but every point dropped could mean a Champions league place next season, his time has run out sadly, Koeman wanted him to up his game with goals etc it hasn’t happened . not Koemans fault, I think he gave him more than a chance.

Not Nevilles biggest fan but do agree with his comments on Koeman seeming to want to get rid of Ross, never a word about Lukaku but never stops putting pressure on Ross.
That said I wouldn't be to fussed if he went just think this should be done in house.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think koeman has done it as a warning to the other players mate, the club wont be trifled with and for that i applaud them..

Ross is in his last year but Rom isn't.

I don't really think it's RK who keeps going on about Barkley after all he is only answering media questions. Neville should keep out of this, unless that is, someone asks him questions regarding the matter. :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

22 May 2017 21:40:18
I'm all for RK speaking his mind when asked about players. Rom has scored 25 goals this season and if you watch RK's press conferences, he does state that Lukaku does still need to improve. Ross is not a child and he gets paid very well for his job. If he can't handle the criticism. He'll be getting ten fold at a bigger club.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 May 2017 22:30:23
Rom has always said he wants CL so have no issue with that. Ross has said nothing so hasn't helped himself. He's been poor most of the season yet we don't know what his intentions are. If he goes I won't lose any sleep over it. I personally think he's being driven by his agent.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lets hope he drives him miles away windsor.. :)

Said over a season ago Ross needs support and not hounded at a stray pass, he is one of the players that has been made a scapegoat over the years, some fair some not many have supported Ross many have been quick to jump on his back, I have seen Ross dropped, hung out by Ronnie but never once have I seen Ronnie take simular action to Rom, he's started nearly every game he has been fit for, the fans have applauded Rom in the ground while some have booed at the slightest bad pass by Ross, now there's fair and unfair and for me I would not blame Ross one bit if he left and wish him all the best if he goes.

I tend to get a lot of stick re my criticism of EFC particulatray in regards to communication.
Be it the ground or transfers always on last minute
But when EFC said they would be shortly issuing a statement re Barclay I laughed my head off
When have EFC ever done anything remotely quickly
Sorry but they getting a reputation for it .
Someone is getting a lot of money to sort these things out and no doubt it will be the same with transfers
We will end up scraping about on deadline day as per usual
The days of Jim Greenwood and Harry Caterick are long gone!

ED25. When can we expect a statment on the Ross barkley situation.
I'm aware that some media have been critical, but IMHO, the manager has got it 100% right, arogent, underperfoming, and thinks he is a better player than he is, cut our losses and show him the door for any fee we can get.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - very shortly i would imagine JCW, i am becoming more and more indifferent about the situation with ross day by day, if he goes fine, if he stays thats ok as well, but i can tell you one thing if he does stay i will be making no more excuses for him, i and others have been very kind to this lad over the years when he has under performed being a local lad and all that, to be honest mate and i know it might sound foolish but i feel a little bit betrayed by him..

22 May 2017 19:50:05
I totally agree with you, I have defended Barkley 3 years, and he is bringing on this media circus himself either sign the contract and knuckle down or come out and say you won't renew contract, at least lukaku has been honest and we all know where we stand even if he's been on holiday for month already.

Agree3 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - totally agree metz..

I really feel that we need a statement of intent signing asap to set the tone of the club's ambition.
We needed it last summer and didn't, but if we can show other players and targets that everton is the place to be then this transfer window will be a whole lot easier.

14 points and 4 places better off than last year. Although no trophy it's an improvement.
Can't wait to see what's going to unfold now before we start next season but I'm sure there will be plenty of ups and downs transfer wise.
Lastly I know he was linked when the clown was here, but I think Bernard would be a good signing.
Although slight of build a bit like to Juninho, I think his forward play could help create chances.

Agree about Bernard. Bit like Coutinho, Oscar and of course Juninho. Always a risk bringing in from another country but would add creativity behind our striker.

Martinez may be a clown, but the players have done the same last 7 games this season, downed tools and holiday mode, it is only our home form that has made us stand out, from 8th place down all have shocking win rates, some of the players need to have a good look at themselves instead of using Martinez, Ronnie and Bill Kenwright as the scapegoats. They are professional footballers and too, any are simply not putting a shift in.

Agree3 Disagree0

22 May 2017 15:59:09
Agreed Baz but what I can't believe is how long some players are taking to differ their play under a new manager.
If that was me, you'd want to be seen to be putting a shift in to impress.
