anyone who considers DCL the equal or better than Solomon Rondon, is seriously disillusioned, the man is top class just hope the rednoses don't move on him.

Same rondon that hasn't scored over 10 since 2014,hes 29 near 30 aswell DCL is 22 and been playing brilliantly, holds the ball up well and wins most things in the air and his movement allows richarlison and siggy the space to score goals.

The reds got 20 million for solanke so DCL must be worth 40 million.
As for Rondon, he is playing at his level (Newcastle) no way could he step up.

Calvert Lewin reminds me of how Sharp was when he signed for us, raw but got better, the more games Lewin plays the better he will get, has certainly stepped up in these last few months.

Sharp improved when we brought Andy Gray in, let’s be fair, Lewin is having to do it all on his own, with no support striker, Sharp had Gray, Lineker and Heath.

Calvert Lewin is coming along just fine. The U21 England game is were he should be at present and hopefully he will be in the England team when he is ready. Southgate is giving out caps to kids, Solanke for example who are just not ready, let's see how these kids do when they lose their speed. Bring DCL on at the right pace and he will be a better all round player for it.

I don't mind if Southgate gives out caps to kids providing they are ready to step up to that level. At this moment, DCL isn't there but as long as he keeps improving and scoring goals then his time will come.
Past managers have given out caps to young players who are signed to the top 6 clubs, Solanke being just one example when he hadn't played enough for Liverpool. DCL is surprising me, I said on here that I'd like to see him go out on loan to get game time but he's managed to get some with us and, by and large, has done well. Long may it continue but let's not put too much pressure on the lad, let him find his feet with us first.

Why go for Rondon, unless we change the system what will be bring to the team I don't think a straight swap with DCL is going to provide that many more goals that would justify the signing. Rondon plays best are part of a pair which currently Silva only uses when chasing the game so either Rondon or DCL will be solo for most games. Unless Silva goes for a change of formation we would be better off looking for a striker that plays up top by himself and can score 15-20 goals a season. Who I don't know, but for me Rondon is not that type of player.

I often wondered if we had some sort of gypsy curse who was a Liverpool supporter that had placed one on us, all tongue in cheek but spooky at the same time, the Brian Hamilton no goal starting it off, then the following year when we finally got it right, the policeman takes Andy Kings moment away with a get off the pitch, fast forward to 84 and Alan Hanson's handball waved away at Wembley, we shall bypass 85 and missing out on a particular cup, we then have Linkers boots misplaced at Oxford, a phantom pot hole at Landsdown Road ending Southalsl season.

Fast forward and you have Dan Goslings winner cut short for a tic tac advert, another moment cut in its prime, then one of our most reliable defenders having a brain freeze and passing the ball back straight into Suarez path, then a ref knocking 30 seconds off his watch as Hutchisons back deflection heads towards an empty net.

Then you have Roger Kenyons crazy own goal in the first league cup final replay, followed by a Darracott howler letting the ball pass him to an unmarked a Little for the winning goal in the second replay.

The last two Anfield derbies where on both occasions in stoppage time, the same keeper makes the same mistake at the same end of the pitch.

So is it a curse, is it just down right rotten luck.

Anyway thought it would make a decent read during the International break.
