I reckon if fellaini goes, as usual about 9 or 10 million pounds of the dish we get for him will go back to the bank leaving us with only 13-14 million squid. With the sale of heitinga & gueye + the 15 million we already have to spend, that should leave Martinez with about 30-35 million to spend on new players. Out of this money I would like to see the following players bought;
* Bruno manga (£5 million)
* Honda (£8 million)
* negrado (£17 million) or soldado (£10 million)
* mcmanaman (£4 million) or Moses (£8 million)
* fer (£8 million)

Obviously, we can't afford all these players, but if 'manga', 'Honda', 'soldado', 'mcmanaman', & 'fer' were all bought, that equals about £35 million (that's assuming I have got my player valuations right which I probably havn't as I'm not 100% sure how much they are exactly worth.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A few points:

1) Any money we have will need sharing between the fees, wages, etc.

2) Honda has a mere 5-6 months on his contract left, so £8m is never going to happen. I'd be surprised if he fetches any more than £3.5m.

3) BK has said Martinez won't get 80% of the funds generated from sales, he will get 100%. Of course it may be BK BS, but he's going to look stupid if he doesn't give Martinez 100%.

Don't take these points as offence, as it's not. I am just stating points to make it a little more realistic. Don't take any of them as a 'dig' at you, because I know you said you aren't sure on the valuations, I'm just stating the corrections.

Other than that, it would be a very nice window if it were to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Soldado is miles better than Negredo and is worth at least a few million more not the other way round

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon Soldado and Negredo would be closer to £22mill Zacki

TJ

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Honda is available cheapish as he is running his contract down

Agree0 Disagree0

Fer would be a good signing, he seems keen to move to us as well

Fellaini will not be as big a miss as we all tend to think! Although Moyes has helped him to become the player He is today, Fellaini is a liabilty, whoever he plays for. He gets booked every 2 or 3 games & usually ends up with at least 1/2 Red Cards each season. Martinez should not be having to put up with all the crap in the papers etc, especially as Fellaini has "reportedly" said He wants to stay at Everton? Time will tell. but if He does want to go then let's get him moved on and bring in whoever Martinez likes to fill the gap. Fer maybe? Don't misunderstand me I think Fellaini has become a really good asset for Everton, but He has also let the team down badly on a number of occasions. McGeady should not be touched, He is not Premier League standard for me, better moving for either Moses or young Redmond. Like to see Schmeichel in also to challenge Howard & either Soldado or Negredo or Morata from Real Madrid. So come on Roberto use your Spanish connections as I'm worried about the standard of some of the players we are being linked with at the moment, Everton need to move forward this season. Street End Boy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Plus pienaar seems to play a lot better when Fellani isent in the tea m

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think Fellaini is not going to suit the way Martinez is going to play as Martinez prefers more technical players rather than physical ones. i'm surprised Arsenal are going after him considering the way they play too, so I think we should take the money and buy ourselfs a more traditional number 10 and a striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini is a great player but is replaceable I reckon especially if we get a hefty fee for him, keeping baines should be our priority, he is more important to the team than fellaini

Everton Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

You are seriously deluded, Felli is only going to get better and better.

Agree0 Disagree0

^^ totally agree. Fellaini would be a huge miss if we were to sell him. Deluded's just the start of it! Who are these people?

Ed what do you think the likelyhood (out of 10) is out of the following things happening?
Signing alcaraz
Signing fer
Signing honda
Signing manga
Felli leaving
Baines leaving
Barkley leaving {Ed007's Note -. There is a 50% chance that they either will or the won't happen so that I'll have a guess at 5/10.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ummm Barkley isn't leaving Baines isent leaving maybe Fellani is lol

Obviously a decent striker is top priority but what would people say is next top priority?

I'd say a box to box centre mid dynamo / playmaker is next - but of course good ones don't come cheap

Graveson was great at this pulling the strings with great passes and intelligent movement - another one like him please! Who else is like him out the that's in our price range?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd agree, although depends on whether Fellaini stays or goes. If Fellaini stays we need one (preferably a new number 10 and hopefully Fellaini as an defensive mid). If he leaves, we need both

Agree0 Disagree0

A Honda or wanyama I would say with felli still in the team, I know ones a amc and other sits more but they could inter change with ease, I also think diame would be a good buy

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the one gor me

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd say Etienne Capoue (not had as good a season as last season, but still solid), Lewis Holtby (highly unlikely Tottenham will let him go, but he'd like to come to us) and Radja Nainggolan (haven't seen much of him, but heard good things) are probably the three best in our range. That said, I think with the right coaching and development, Ross the Boss could be an excellent one.

Not too much outlay ie expenditure, but certainly bulks up the squad, with our other players leaving especially high salaries of neville and Fellaini, I believe the wage bill would not take too much of a hit from this either.

Of course I would want to keep fellaini, but if needs must and we are pushed by the release clause, this is how I would like the summer to go and hopefully would take us onto the next level (assuming all the players mentioned would be happy to join us)
What is everyones thoughts on this? CraigHuytonBlue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would be happy with this, I think we'll only sign Fer out of that list, the rest would be younger unknown Spanish players I think.

You made an error with the prices

Agree0 Disagree0

People need to get over FER he ain't that good, no were near the big fella

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope we don't go 3 at the back, for me, leaves us a bit exposed, and when we did try it this season, it wasn't as effective as I had hoped. Mainly because Baines was really ineffective, caught between tracking back and staying forward and it doesn't suit his style of play. Baines thrives on playing with a winger, mainly Pienaar, as he has quick feet, good football IQ and can make brilliant runs to unlock the defence, with 3 at the back, that doesn't work.

Hope Martinez sticks to 4 at the back, because I think it suits Baines and Coleman much better.

Why is everyone saying sell Jelavic, the man will come good and score 20+ goals this season

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jun 2013 13:26:56
He will score 15-20 a season we just need to bring players in to feed him like Honda and Shaun Maloney. In his first season he had Cahill who created a lot of goals for him we don't have that in the team right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

So long as RM doesn't tell him to play as a winger like Moyes did, then there's every chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've seen more technical ability in a 9 year old kid.

Agree0 Disagree0

He got great serVice first season and scored for fun, think the same could happen with Martinez

Agree0 Disagree0

You not seen him the last 6months, I mean I wouldn't put a bet on more than 10, sluggish, tired, on his arse shooting

Moyes persavied with him and he couldn't get on the end of chances even when we were dominating games, so blame no one else but himself

Agree0 Disagree0

5th replier: what a load of tosh.

Anyone who has seen Everton under Moyes will know he tells his strikers to play on the wing.

Period.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyses has ruined every striker he has bought--obsession with strikers chasing balls down the channels--strikers need to be in and around the box if they are going to score

Agree0 Disagree0

I love Jelavic and acknowledge he struggled last season quite largely due to Cahill not being there, but still, he was shocking technically. He looked like the kid you'd pick last on the playground.

Agree0 Disagree0

When Cahill was playing in behind he would flick it on to jela but felli often takes it down on his cheast. If fellaini plays defensive midfielder and we get a creative number 10 like Honda then jela will start banging them in ( hopefully)

I hope barkley gets used more this season as Martinez seems to not be scared to throw youngsters in without playing to many at once, didn't really shine to much from his loan spells were he should be at a level were he could stand out more, it dosnt help to be passed from club to club aswell

love to seem him as sub more regular and playing like when he burst onto the scene at the start of two seasons ago, I don't see the point in bringing on Naismith and exspecially hitzslberger on when you got someone like him on the bench.

MikeDeBlue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jun 2013 11:01:09
Right let's be honest Fellaini is one of the best players in our team but he can be replaced, if we do get the whole £24m or around that then our team could get so much better with the style that Martinez (who for me is saying all the right things at the moment and is making me really excited) like for example Fer can do the same job as Fellaini for only £6-8m get rid of Heitinga and bring in Manga for the same price.

But what the main thing is our striking force hasn't been good for years yes jelavic was class and could still be if he gets into form again but I want someone who is born to create chances and score goals, there is a little gem out there waiting for us.

Possible ins:
Fer
Manga
Redmond
McGeady
Kone
and a class A striker

Outs:
Fellaini
Heitinga.

Everton close to finalising £4.5mil deal for Bruno Manga, he's highly rated in France and looks like will solve our centre half selection that has been between Distin and Heitinga. Will this be our first or second signing Ed? (not sure wether we've signed Alcaraz or not) {Ed025's Note - i have never heard of the guy arron..sorry..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He a centre back from Lorient. it's on tv

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jun 2013 08:49:26
Apparently where after this guy, who knows, but heres some info on him.
Fortunately for the Toffees, Martinez is very experienced when it comes to working on a tight budget and he seems to have found a potentially brilliant signing in the form of Bruno Ecuele Manga.

Manga is a 24-year-old right sided centre back who is around the perfect age to blend into Everton’s squad as Sylvain Distin and Phil Jagielka head towards the final stages of their careers.

He’s been at Lorient since 2010 and has only ever been involved in French football, which means if he has any preconceptions over moving to England, it should be a much easier transition for him to make.

He only played on 17 occasions last season for Lorient due to a bad knee injury which kept him out of action from the back end of 2012 through to the middle of February this year.

However, despite that injury, he did manage to secure some impressive stats last season.

He won 3. 6 aerial challenges on average based on his performances last year, which is only 0. 7 off the average of Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic.

He also picked up three man of the match awards last season, which shows that he seems to be able to raise his game well for the big matches in order to produce a superb performance.

That’s significant for Everton fans because playing in the Premier League is much more difficult than a career in Ligue One and playing for Everton, a historic English club, means he’ll have to endure some big matches and big rivalries.

He also has a higher passing success rate on average than either Distin or Jagielka, which suggests he’s a more composed player on the ball.

That’s ideal for the club because Martinez may encourage Everton to play the ball out more from the back rather than taking the aerial route.

This is a new one and to be honest I wouldn't mind if it was true, Lee Catermole from Sunderland, has fell out with PDC, looking to move him on for about 4 million.

Martinez has done a Redknapp and said he admires the player whilst being interviewed after one of the Confererations Cup training sessions.

He was also asked about his old Wigan players and asked if any were to join him at Everton he smiled and said "No"

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lee Catermole? ha ha ha oh mate you've just brightened a dull day up. Seriously a player with his attitude, and very little if any footballing ability at all does not deserve to be even mentioned in the same sentence as everton, and is not in any way good enough or what we want at our club.

i recently had a go at anichebe and quite a few fans agreed with me one dope said I don't go the game I am a season ticket holder in lower bullens. I am a fan of darron gibson and think he's a very under rated player. do fellow blues agree. I hear lee cattermole has been told he can leave sunderland, he is a decent player who martinez knows about afterhim being a wigan player, he sometimes gets sent off but is a good player and is only 25. when heitinga goes, sooner the better tony hibbert can also cover as a centre half. so keep the faith raggy COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

22 Jun 2013 08:37:25
Darron gibson is very underrated his range of passing is superb, his energy and long shot is deadly if he wasn't as injury prone at united I think he is good enough to replace scholes, cattermole is poor basically another joey barton without the footballing ability

Agree0 Disagree0

I agreed with you about victor toffepop, but i'm sorry mate not on this one. Cattermole, no mate defo not. I posted to a later post my feelings about him. Gibson is very good at what he does, which sometimes goes unnoticed by a lot of fans, but you can see the players are more comfortable when he's in the side.

Agree0 Disagree0

The ones that said you don't go the game watch his best bits on match of the day and not the 85 mins were his losing the ball and can't control nothing, but I can't say I fancy catermole the guys a loose cannon and is no good suspended

Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist because of the lack of transfer activity, Martinez hasn't even officially taken over yet, and anyhow this is how we act every summer, we never go straight out and spend spend spend, it'll be even more dragged out this summer because Martinez needs to assess our squad himself!

So what if the reds are buying player after player, let them buy all the second rate players they want, after all we should remember the story about the old bull and the young bull.

So relax everyone, its still 2 months till the new season, let's enjoy this summer of re-newed optimisum and hope, I've got faith in Martinez to bring in quality when the time comes!!
