Well Watford won 5-1 so if we don't win on Tuesday it will show how far we have fallen behind other clubs outside of the top six.

The crazy thing is we have improved as an attacking force. but our defending is probably worse that schoolboy level! Such a simple thing to sort but at the moment we look quite terrible. We give free kicks and corners away at times when we need to be calm. We have individual mistakes by the keeper and the two center backs and the two full backs seem to be hellbent on fouling. After we have given away fouls and corners, we crowd the box with players who can't head the ball. Walcott, Lookman, Gomez, Digne and Siggy all struggle. Yet attcaking wise we have plenty of possession and enough shots to win most games. The whole thing is barmy!

Cardiff will throw the kitchen sink at us now, it is a must win game for them, and as much as I hate to say it, I think they will win just for the fact that we won't be up for the fight.

I feel after Tuesday even the most optimistic fans might gather under my dark cloud. To think we have just paid Watford another £4 mill for Silva Moshiri is so incompitent at running a football club. If he ran his business this way he would have gone bankrupt years ago.

Agree1 Disagree0

23 Feb 2019 14:35:32
But he has not gone bankrupt and knows how to run a business by using those in the know to guide him. He is learning fast about how to run a football club and surrounding himself with the staff who can take us where he wants us. Give him, Brands, and Silva a chance. You have a trigger finger DC :-)

Maybe FM took bad advice at the start, DC, but why do you continue to slate him? His biggest mistake was appointing Walsh but that has been dealt with by employing a man who is well respected in his role of DoF, certainly an upgrade. The club is improving behind the scenes, our revenue streams seem to have gone up so that is heading in the right direction.
The only problem we've had is with managers. RK's first season wasn't too bad but the second was a nightmare, how many bad buys did we make? ok, FM might have to sign off these transfers but he was backing both his manager and Walsh. Rhino wasn't ready to step up and SA gave us nothing but dross.
What we all seem to skirt over is the influence us fans had. Walking out early in games, giving the managers (s) stick, booing the team selections etc. I think we should be careful what we wish for!
Silva wasn't who I wanted either but there's no point in moaning about it is there? Whether we like it or not, I think he will be given until the end of the season to turn things around, to see if the players can begin to play the system that he prefers. Providing, of course, results don't get worse than they already have. Whoever is in charge shouldn't matter, we should all be getting behind the team regardless.

The problems all stem from Martinez allowing the squad to age so much. We sold our promising youngsters and relied totally on Barkley and Lukaku for goals. When those 2 left we were in it up to our necks!

Hey ed 025 this match on Tuesday against Cardiff could be a defining moment in Marco's reign as Everton manager, anything less than a win could be his downfall, if we only draw or heaven for bid we loose I reckon that will be the final straw for Mr Moshiri especially with Liverpool coming up next Sunday, it is absolutely vital we get all three points from the Cardiff game, what's your view mate cheers.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - cardiff are doing very nicely GB and my guess would that it will be a draw, on form i cant see us winning it to be honest mate but i live in hope, i dont think the result will be pivotal to whether marco stays or goes but if we get a whooping in the derby then that may well change..

22 Feb 2019 19:32:59
Why are people so keen to get rid of a manager after 5 minutes? If Silva is sacked before the end of the season then it will happen again and again and again. If FM sacks managers after 5 minutes then I hope he fecks off to another club and ruins them. What we need now is patience and allow Brands and Silva to create their own identity by getting the players they want. Whether or not that be by bringing on the youngsters and some new players or totally new players is to be seen, but they need time.

22 Feb 2019 19:43:56
They certainly do Nick mate, but this is a results Business and I just can't see us getting the nessesary points we need, i would like to see Marco given time but I think the knives will be out, time will tell mate.

Agree2 Disagree0

22 Feb 2019 19:54:48
Well if FM wants to listen to those who throw the knives he will get nowhere GB. He needs to listen to Brands, otherwise why make him a director? I know it is hard at the present time GB but it hurts to see our club in turmoil and the laughing stock of the EPL.

I agree mate having been a Fan since the early sixties and believe me this hurts to see our Club in this predicament.

22 Feb 2019 20:06:38
I totally agree with you Nick, we need stability in the club, just let them do their job, he definitely needs time, I have trust in Silva, Brands and Moshiri we need to get off their backs.

22 Feb 2019 21:40:55
Agree. He needs time. Will he get it?
Who knows but I do think Moshiri is looking at things a bit differently now.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Feb 2019 12:35:16
I expect that he will stay for now before Moshiri makes another bad appointment I fear. If you keep appointing failures with short term track records failure is guerenteed followed by getting another manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Feb 2019 14:32:30
Don't agree at all dc If Marco does go and it's a big if, Mr Moshiri will not make the same mistake again he will have someone with a proven track record lined up, of that I have no doubt, I would still like Marco to have a fair crack of the whip and be given a chance to have his own players brought in.

23 Feb 2019 18:40:38
My question is. Who with a winning track record is going to come to us?
Some of these posters on here think we can just cherry pick from the best managers in the world.
Well you need to wake up to reality.
Can anyone give me a top name manager who we could realistically get?
One that you could guarantee could bring us success, given a bit of money.

The Season starts again for Us now, after a long break in which I think they needed to clear the air and regain their confidence back. Everton should be rearing to go! I've got a good feeling that we can now go on a good run and bring a smile back on our faces and start watching Match of the Day again.
