Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

Ed, one of my posts about BK was accidentally put in response to a comment of support for Kevin Sheedy.

My apologies for that.

About Kevin, I wish him a swift recovery and like the winner he is I fully expect that to be sooner rather than later.

Sheedy... Give your illness the boot son - the left one

Ed. Any word on the niang situation ? {Ed025's Note - not at the moment, but expect a decision very shortly..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Isn't he going to AC Milan, Ed. I'm sure I read it somewhere.

Mike {Ed025's Note - nothing is decided yet mike..

Agree0 Disagree0

He is awesome and would be a cracking signing for us

Everton Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

When will a decision be made?

Agree0 Disagree0

What is the point of giving him a trail then not making a decision french wonder kid only everton would hesitate

22 Aug 2012 22:05:33
ED do you know what the situation is with Niang he would cost around 5 mill accourding to reports .If Moyes does sign him that will be all the Rodwell money gone i have a feeling Kenwright might have given Moyes more money i dont know why i have this feeling but i reckon we could all be in for a treat before the transfer window closes but im happy with what we have now any more signings would be a bonus.Stef the blue {Ed025's Note - niang would be an investment stef....if he is half as good as they say he is, his sell on value would be massive..

Given that the air of optimism around Goodson is as high as it has been in many a year and everybody rates the team/squad I was wondering what kind of team we would end up with if we could mix this and the team from the mid 80's together.
Southall
Pat van den Howe Ratty Mountfield G Stevens
Reid Steven Inchy Sheedy
Sharp Grey
How many of this team would get into the present team and vica Vera.
Also Kendall (first time round) or Moyes ?

Ginger blue

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As good as this team we have here, they are not fit to lace the boots of the Great team of the eighties.

We have some immense players, but that team was just the greatest

As for Kendall, he did the business in midfield as well as in the dug out, so again DM is the apprentice HK was the master.

COYB
Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

I think as it stands kendal and his team kendals team was built the old fashioned way, over time low cost and a few big money stars as icing on the cake. People were calling for his head early on because of poor results. David Moyes has built a team over time as best as finances have allowed but is better for it in a time were time is not allowed to build a team and chairmen and fans want instant success. I think David Moyes could eventually match Kendals success and this season could be the start of a run of trophies to match the best. coyb. thgfest

Agree0 Disagree0

None of our current team would even get on the team of the 80's bench.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

It was a cracking team Mike. As the game has changed so much I wonder how the starting 11 of then, would fair against the starting 11 of now. I guess we will never know. Would be a bloody good game tho!! What era would the ref be from? That would make a massive difference to the tackling.

Wizard of Osman

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines and fellaini would be pushing for a place in the team

Everton Dave

Agree0 Disagree0

You dont think baines jelovic fellini pienaar we havent seen mirellis or naismith would have a chance rubish half the 80s side were in the reserve side till harvey became coach baines isa far better player than van der how or physco as we called him get real

Agree0 Disagree0

If you're going to be a smart arse, at least spell the players names right.

Agree0 Disagree0

23 Aug 2012 16:46:57
If the team of today played the team you put up in the first post, the current team would win easily! I think people are forgetting that athletes in general tend to be far ahead of their equivalents from the past... Just because the 80's team won trophies means nothing different league, different times!

If you havent watched the kenwright interview on the Everton website you have to. I know he is an actor by trade but there is no faking that interview, the man, just like you and me bleeds blue. Maybe, just maybe with financial fair play, the world economic crisis and all that goes with it, not kicking him out might be the best signing Everton have done. I have not always backed him but no other chairman would speak like that and it might take longer than oil money but eventually his passion and commitment will get us to where the fans (and he is a fan) want us to be.
Come on blue boys let's stay as one, united for Everton for the whole season and together with the best squad and best manager we have had in 20 years we can really do something over the next season or two. Know your history, nothing but the best COYB

Svenny {Ed025's Note - nice post svenny mate..

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Just think how much better things would be if he weren't here though. We might not have to sell players, we might not have to sell our training ground, we might have won a trophy by now. But because he can put a sentence together he is an amazing chairman. No chance.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever Mike, who would you rather be like? Let's not be jealous of others, let's not wish for things we don't have. Let's face the f-ing facts face reality and realise that we will one day get there, and we will get there the Everton way and it will be great. If you want to follow and support football manager fc go watch man city or Chelsea.
Look this rift between kenwright haters and supporters is half the problem, not everyone can get a Russian or Arab billionaire only two clubs in the UK have, the rest have been detremental to theirs clubs so accept what we have and that's a loyal chairman who has the respect and support of the manager and players and who also respects his manager and players, to me that's worth a few million right there. I promise you there is no club that other fans would like to see in the top 4 more than us because everyone knows we are doing it the right way.

Svenny {Ed025's Note - you speak a lot of sense for me svenny..

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember Agent Johnson's tenure and the European ban before that...that's what scuppered EFC IMHO. Without BK and DM we'd be up crap creek without a paddle.
Cowpat Sid

Agree0 Disagree0

Svenny. You'll do for me mate.... Mike, we might have been relegated too mate. We might have gone ino administration, or worse. Scroll down the page to 9:40 this morning. Some good points on this topic...

Wizard of Osman

Agree0 Disagree0

Dear mike, I'd rather be a premier league club with a bright future great players, a great manager and lots of fans, than a club who won the FA cup and ended up in league 1 with no players or hope, eg pompey {Ed025's Note - good point..

Agree0 Disagree0

Awful reply Mike, would you want someone to come in and change our colours to red? Or get bored with football and take his money out and we go into administration? Count yourself lucky we have a chairman with the passion he has for our club. If we get a foreign chairman form Asia or Russia, they will see our club as a money maker and they don't care about the club and the fans, they just want to make more money. I would take him over a dodgy russian like ibramovic! Don't want to know how he has made his money.............

TC

Agree0 Disagree0

Think how much better things could be Mike? Think how much worse they could be. How many of these rich boy chairman stay loyal to their managers? Should we dump hibbert for a £150000 a week mercenary? Dump Osman because he isn't a big enough name for our new spoilt chairman? I'd rather keep our soul, and trust bills decision on a fit owner for our proud club. Blue Lee

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry everyone, I didn't mean to cause any offence, I just get a bit pissed off with Kenwright sometimes. I just think we could and should be doing so much better.

I love this boys, sod the blue union this is the blues united to one goal, the best interests of EFC the greatest club (maybe not team yet!) in England. Put the anti kenwright and why our board is not doing this and that to bed. We are still here, getting stronger each year and the future is bright (technically dark) the futures blue
Svenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike in your first reply you make the point that we have to sell players.in fact this is a recurring theme with some posters, and also the press. lets look at that claim shall we since DM came to goodison we have sold 4 of our top players we have not sold are capt for the last two seasons like arsenal have in fact they have sold 17 players in 7 years who have gone on to win 44 medals between them in fact 5 of those players were connected with man city last season man utd sold ronaldo two years ago as well as stam, gibson and phil neville. my point is all teams sell players that is the nature of the game always has been always will be or the game would become stagnent, we are no different from any other team and not as bad as at least one above us,so please stop blaming bill kenwright for this situation this is football.....grbefc {Ed025's Note - good post that mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

He looked personted to me.
HightownBlue {Ed025's Note - is there such a word as personted?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just to let you know ed, I didn't type that apology. I have my opinions and will stand by them. If people disagree then fair enough, that's what this site is for.

Mike {Ed025's Note - if we all agreed mike...it would be a dull old world mate, you are entitled to your opinion...even though its wrong...lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Mike, referring to your second post.... We all say things in the heat of the moment, we just ask you to unite with the majority of blues who post here. We've had a great summer and justified it with a win over the mancs.

Come on son, it's good to be blue, Bill and Davey

Agree0 Disagree0

Fisrt of all Mike your a sad excuse for a fan! The whole club and everyone involved with it is buzzin' after our recent transfer activity and fantastic performance the other night. And yet you just can't help but have a moan! Very sad...!

Though Neville had a decent game Monday he's never going to unlock a defence and you wonder how many games he can play in CM in a season. Think we need a more creative partner for Gibson like Manny or maybe Isco who's young and might be available for what's left of the Rodwell money. He looked very classy in the recent friendly? Think he can play on the right too so ticks a big Moyse box. Maybe another Arteta? One more player of that calibre and we'd have em runnin scared! COYB!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes i do think we need another creative midfeilder and i think moyes could come with a suprise signing in this position but lay off neville his contribution on monday night was important to the team and he still has a lot to offer this season. thgfest {Ed051's Note -

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He gave away a silly pen against blackburn last season which knocked him back a bit and moyes probably didnt think it was the right time to keep him in so took him out to get his confidence back a bit playing regularly in the reserves, hopefully he sees this season as the season to unleash him fully on the premier league

Just seen the interview with Bill Kenright. What a lovely man! He haves a great passion and love for our club. We are lucky to have. Chairman who loves our club as much as he does. He may not have the money of other chairmen, but he adores our great club. If you call for him to get out, you don't see the bigger picture... Do you want a chairman who sees us as an investment and they don't know anything about us? And when they get bored they pull their money out and we go into administration? I certainly don't! And if you do, there's something wrong with you... Also would you want a chairman like Cardiff who changes our colours to red? I don't! You have to see that the grass isn't always greener. Just look at the signings we have made, brilliant! Also there is a reason why the players love the club so much, it's because we are a small unit who work well together and have you seen how much they love the chairman? I have, the reason players don't leave and stay for years, like Cahill is because they respect the manager and chairman. They have a great relationship with him, you don't get that in other clubs... So when you give him greif, just think... Do you want to support a team who doesn't exist? {Ed051's Note - I seen the interview, I think he has done well with giving moyse money to spend. Some fans might not like him but he has done good up to now so credit were its due

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I have had the pleasure of meeting Bill, i was a guest at a game do to a request i made of him, i have never met a nicer man in my life i went out of his way to help me and my family during a rough time we were having due to a cancer illness all clear now thank god. but the man was and is giant of kindness and compassion. i pity the fools that call for him to leave, he feels the pain when so called fans berate him and his late mother rest her soul, all the true efc fans know what he means to us.
it will be like the legend of the liver birds if they fly the city sinks. if BK leaves EFC will to
BK 4EVA {Ed001's Note - I get fed up of saying this, why is all the blame on Kenwright, when your board has Robert Earl, Philip Carter and Elstone, all of which could buy Bill many times over? If you want to blame someone for not providing the capital needed, look at those 3.}

Agree0 Disagree0

He is an absolute clown, the sooner he leaves and concentrates on his theatre work the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sorry, but he hasn't done a really good job for me. I do not hate BK, but I am realistic, some of his business decisions he and the board have done over the years, have been very poor. I know he doesn't have money, and no-one should slate him for that and I thank him for saving us from the Johsnon days, but the botched stadium moves, the fact that he sold our training ground and leased it back costing us more in the end and others, just haven't been wise moves financially.

Although, thankfully, he got one of the most important decisions right in one David Moyes, that I will congratulate him for and I feel sorry for him because he gets ridiculous threats from so called Everton fans.

But looking from a financial sense, as we should given he is the owner, he hasn't done that good of a job. And the facts back it up. {Ed001's Note - he is not the owner, he is the chairman, there is a massive difference. Major shareholder, yes, owner, no. There are a number of other major shareholders, all of them with the funds to have ensured the club had no need to sell the training ground etc. Only Bill has put HIS money where his mouth is. You should be asking questions of the rest of the board, not him.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Poster calling him a clown, you must be thick if you want him out of out club, you don't see the bigger picture what the poster is trying to show people like you, get behind the club and the chairman for gods sake like ed001 said don't blame him, blame the board! {Ed001's Note - the only one to actually spend his own money has been Kenwright, I feel sorry for him personally, he gets all the grief and he is the only one that seems to actually care.}

Agree0 Disagree0

All Bill Kenwright haters should take note of Ed001's comments. Absolutely spot on!

Also, they should have a look at what has just happened so far in the transfer window. Not only have we improved our team, the signings are a statement of intent with regards to the ambition of our club. We're going places!

Or... Do you want to be in a situation like poor old Blackburn? Could you imagine hearing a press conference where some bloke in a suit is publically criticising our players, or saying if Moyes loses three in a row he's gone?! Disgusting. BK is doing his very best with the rest of the board doing their very worst!

Wizard of Osman

Agree0 Disagree0

I wonder if all the clowns will still be talking their anti BK garbage at the end of this season? The man was perhaps the only one interested in taking on the mess agent Johnson made and in the process saved the club and has given us a manager and team that can compete. For those of us who remember the "Carter and Kendal out," Nonsense of 83 and early 84 know that when you are on to a good thing keep faith with it and it all comes good.

WtG.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am the poster and I would like to thank ed001 for backing me up, I too feel sorry for the man that's why I thought I had to show people like the poster calling him a clown the bigger picture obviously people can't get it in thick skulls... Ridiculous really that fans of the club would say things about his mother, that's how much they don't think... He is helping the club unlike the rest of the board that together have billions in wealth. Also if he wasn't the chairman, Moyes would of been sacked along time ago with the slow starts, just like Chelsea if the manager comes second in the league and wins the FA Cup they still get sacked.... Ridiculous... Would take him over a foreignor who knows nothing about the club but just sees it as a money machine anyday. {Ed051's Note - Kenwright is a blue at heart but also the face of the board so he takes all the stick, but let's face it he cleaned up johnsons mess and put his own cash in, other board members should be embarrassed letting him take the flak

The poster who said he is an absolute clown is a Liverpudlian, it stands out a mile.
Bill Kenwright IS Everton Football Club.

I don't think anyone questions bills love for the club, but he and the board have mad mistakes and David moyes has saved the club with his ability to succeed with no money. But bill has also stayed strong and could have easily sold to one of the cowboys like Portsmouth and Blackburn did. I believe bill means well my only time that I didn't like was the video of him before a game when fans asking him questions about money and arteta etc and he did seem arrogant when we the fans deserve answers and should at least be given the respect of acknowledging them. Bill seemed to think the blueunion are the only ones that want answers but ya ordinary joe bloggs who goes the game, who the only reason reads the echo is for news on the blues and who scans sites like this for any little bit of goss.
The best thing that could happen would be if bill stayed on but get a board with some financial clout.

Robbie {Ed051's Note - Fair comment

Under Kenwrong we have become accustomed to mediocrity, if people want to applaud that fact, then so be it. {Ed025's Note - why are you complaining?...when there is nothing to complain about...get a grip fella! 99% of us are happy at the moment..so dont try and rain on our parade..

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont like Kenwrong, we have won nothing for nearly 20 years, we are in millions of pounds of debt, but because we beat Man Utd everything is fine. I dont agree with that atitude, sorry ed025. {Ed025's Note - i feel sorry for you mate...we are all full of hope and expectation, and its a great time to be a blue...why not just enjoy it?..

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we are in debt but I would guess more then half the prem clubs are also in debt. Yes we have had to sell in our players in recent years but I believe this season we only sold to improve our squad and with the extra premier league money we will receive next season onwards will change us

Ed i get really annoyed when someone posts a joke about the others across the park and our supporters start giving out because they post a joke about them. This is a banter page so what if our blues take a pop at them they have being doing it for years at our expense lighten up lads our fans are happy now and things are looking up let them have their fun and stop giving out when one of us cracks a joke about the dark side or maybe you have something to hide if you dont like seeing jokes about them on here hmmmmm.Stef the blue

Believable1 Unbelievable2

That should work both ways Stef, I have seen jokes from Liverpool fans about us, good banter, nothing wrong with it. No need for people to moan about it.

Agree0 Disagree0

No, it's just people like me are not bitter like you, and I don't like the reputation of our fans tarnished because the minority are worrying about a different team than their own {Ed001's Note - I thought it was just a funny joke personally, I don't see why anyone would be bothered? Unless they have had a sense of humour bypass or something?}

Agree0 Disagree0

I know mate but it just seems like you touch a sore spot with some our fans on here when you have a bit of harmless banter at lthe redrubbishes expense why god only knows but they have a good laugh at us and there fans dont moan it puzzles me sometimes .Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

3RD poster with no name what are you on about you who is bitter .Stef the blue

Agree0 Disagree0

This is not just Everton that Liverpool fans try to banter with. Anyone who is successful they don't like. Their bitterness is for us, both manc teams and Chelsea. They cannot stand anyone who is,doing better than them. They are for me the most hated fans amongst other teams for their attitude and all they talk about is there history. Live in the present not the past.

Is there any news Ed or any Blue on Jelavic and Distin. Jelavic went off with a knock and Distin looked in some distress at the end of the match and had to be helped from the pitch.
If Jelavic is out then I suspect Mirallas or Naismith with take his part. If Distin is out then I suspect Heitinga, but if all fit I would go with the same team with Mirallas taking Anichebi's place on the bench. Thoughts!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think mirallas will get a start personally as he only signed for us coz he was guaranteed first team football.could be wrong though.

Moyes likes to ease players in, he will eventually start

If all are fit the team will probably be the same that started that brilliant performance on monday night

Just wondering, the adverts on this page are very strange, it's as though they read my mind, cougars in my area, I'm going hunting ;) Anyone else getting weird ad's?

You get ads of recent websites you have visited aint that right ed ? {Ed001's Note - it is related to the cache of your browser, yes, though only to an extent, as it also depends on which companies are targeting the keywords the site is listed under. I would expect that the cougar ads are looking for keywords based around sports, in the knowledge that it is mostly males that look at sports sites.}

I think a prize should go to who can claim the strangest advert....

Would like to say a big thank you on behalf of all Liverpool fans for your fans singing Justice for the 96 against the Manc after they sang about Hillsborough. Have so much respect for those fans.

RAH, YNWA (I know is not a rumour but would appreciate it if this could be posted on the rumor page Ed. Thanks for the hard work keep it up eds)

Starting to thing with Jagielka and Distin playing so well the other day will Moyes try Heitinga in sitting infront of the back 4 with Gibson. with Mirallas Fellaini and Pienaar behind Jelavic? Heitinga was unbeliavble last year and didnt really think he deserved to be dropped but it payed off. Unless theres some transfer thing going on which we dont know about? Someone linking him to spurs on twitter. I doubt it tho. Think he could be good sitting infront of the back for after last year. He wasnt the greatest when he had played there before but id like to see us try him cause Neville is getting on abit.
