Use our rumours form to send us everton transfer rumours.

First of all I want to speak to all Evertonians and Eds, we have optimistic fans, we have glass half full fans and we have opinions that appear negative, although it was only Sunderland a mixed bag of opinions have been written on here, Ronnies tactics, certain players playing or not playing, divided opinions, not signing a striker, we all have difference of opinions but the love of Everton make us proud and at times frustrated, last night we I'd not pack I front of the back four, Tom Davies had more space to place to his strengths, we played Calvert Lewin as a centre forward instead of on the wing, we brought in Kenny, we brought on Niasse and Lookman, no surprises we looked so much better overall.
Some who have been called negative or doom merchants have been calling for the above and have a point, others have kept faith in Ronnie, bowing down to his knowledge over the countless views of a lot of very knowledgeable Evertonians.

We all have views, we do not have to agree but as fans we care about our club.

Last night was when everything fell into place, it's as if Ronnie read the views, daft I know but it's like he said ok will try that, will try him there, will give these guys a run, last night showed that we have the players there if used and in a correct position can shoot this team up the league, all we ask for now is to get that balance, do not take two steps back and continue on Saturday where we left off Wednesday, that all the posters ask of on here, a fair crack and a will to win.

Its a great post Bazwill, but just 90% sure that it will be back to no width and no pace on Saturday.

Rooney is the problem when we play everything throgh him . keep Niasse , DCL and lookman in the team . but it won't happen you can count on that.

Agree2 Disagree2

{Ed025's Note - i think too much does revolve around wayne skylark and even though its probably him trying too hard it does limit our options mate..

21 Sep 2017 19:44:41
Good post Bazwil but Sunderland did make it easy for the lads. I haven't seen anything from Besic as of yet.

I do hope Niasse makes the bench at the weekend he deserves it.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i would start with him smit..

21 Sep 2017 19:54:06
Agree with that Ed. I for one have been screaming for passion and the right attitude and this lad has it. He may not be the most talented but give me someone with heart and who wants to impress and I'll be a very happy and proud Evertonian. Lukaku's first touch was woeful when he started for us but by the time he left he was a great striker. Give Niasse a run and who knows. He wants it and that's enough for me right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he deserves a shot for me windsor, if it does not come off then so be it but we wont know until he gets his chance..

21 Sep 2017 20:53:04
I wouldn't want his confidence shattered so think a few games coming off the bench could be the making of him. My fear would be if he starts a couple of games and doesn't score he could be cast into the wilderness.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - fair point mate..

22 Sep 2017 08:07:11
For me I would start DCL in the 9 role again with Niasse off the bench, ironically I believe Rooney occupies the role Sigurdsson was bought for the 10 position, RK has an issue to fit all the big signings into limited spaces, ultimately making side unbalanced.

22 Sep 2017 17:12:36
Why not play Rooney further back with Gana? His eye for a pass is good, and if he gets forward Gana is there for back up And rotate him with Davies and rotate Gana with Schneiderlin. I don't think Gana and Schneidelin play well together. Play siggy as a number 10 and DCL as a 9.

22 Sep 2017 18:19:13
I don't think Niasse is good enough but I want him on that pitch on Saturday proving me wrong. Rooney done it early on but his form looks hit and maybe other things on his mind.

Like many of you though I want us to play with width and pace. So hopefully Lookman, Sandro and DCL get a game together.

Away from performance we scored 3 and kept clean sheet, positive springboard for Saturday I feel we can go on a bit of a run now to build momentum not saying win them all.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - like you say metz its a start, confidence is everything and lets just hope that we see the same level of endeavor that we did against united, but with a different outcome obviously mate..

22 Sep 2017 18:12:54
Hopefully trueblue. I'm hoping Niasse can kick on and Vlasi looks like a good addition. As you say Ed confidence is so important and another win would give amother boost.

Just want some positive things to focus on again.

Pace in the side last night and yes it was against Sunderland but what a difference it made. Thing is that like Martinez it will in all probability be back to Managers' favourites once again, come the weekend.

Hope not, Kenny, Holgate, Vlasic and DCL all deserve a chance at the weekend and Niasse should be an option on the bench.
Would like to see Holgate partner Keane at the back, how deep we defend due to the age of Williams and Jags causes us no end of problems, if this is a transition season, let's actually phase out the old for the new.

Yes Bigdunc, a good manager picks his best team and not his favorites, this is a big test for him Saturday.

There will be wholesale changes and probably a change of formation again. i'd only make three changes bring in pickford, baines and gylfi for steks, williams and sandro play a 4-4-1-1.

To be fair to managers in general. We are managing as if it's football manager. We don't know about players issues, illness, form, attitude and a whole other bunch of stuff.

There's other things like chemistry with other players and the opposition to consider which I've never heard mentioned by one person on here in all the time I've been posting and it's probably one of the biggest areas.

I'm not defending anyone but let's face it not one of us could manager a premier league football team and the pressures that go with it.

You're just proving how delusional we fans are!

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Sep 2017 13:31:00
Why do you think its delusional? Most people can do most things if they put their minds to it. Its about gaining the necessary experience to the job. Football management is no different to other occupations in that respect. There are good managers and bad managers. Success at any team sport comes down to a few basic things the support network in place, the framework you operate in, the desire of the team and a lot of luck.

nice little stat from last night Sunderlands starting 11 had more Everton appearances than our own starting 11.

At last Ed 025 a score to stop the doom slayers.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

{Ed025's Note - it was only sunderland but yeah GB, lets see what team koeman puts out on the weekend as i thought the young lads did well, or will they be binned for the favourites?..

21 Sep 2017 11:28:26
Not ready to get carried away just yet, however a few goals, even if it is against a substandard team like Sunderland, gives a better feeling around the club and team.

Although we know in our hearts Niassie is no world beater, he will be feeling good this morning and if played at the weekend will be full of confidence; especially after the fantastic reception he got last night.

RK has some difficult decisions to make over the next two days, does he keep to a more youthful and pacier team or go back to playing 3 number 10’s all looking for a forward pass that ends up sideways or backwards.

With DCL and Niassie as out and out forwards, and Lookman or Vlasic, who looked good for an 18 year old, there will be willing runners for the likes of Rooney and Sigurdsson to play balls through and wide. Keep Gueye and Davies for battling and pace in there and we may see the makings of a team.

As far as the back 3/ 4, Kenny didn’t play his natural game, however did enough to be an option, as did Holgate. Jags for me as well as Keane. Williams had a good day as captain, however gives the ball away too much.

Momentum is what we now need over the coming games, as well as the support from the Goodison faithful.

A quick word about the Sunderland supporters last night, you all deserve credit for travelling down to support a team that looks to be playing for a wage slip and not you. I hope they offer you your money back.

Good post chalkie. I don't care who it was against it was a game that we won 3-0. We needed it to break the negative cycle. Hopefully we can kick on and finally get out season under way.

Agree with that mate.

21 Sep 2017 11:09:28
Well very encouraging, but next few games are still must win ones . Agree with Ed it now depends on what side Koeman puts out against Bournemouth. Just hope that he gives Niasse more chances.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im not oumar,s biggest fan mike but im with you he deserves his shot, bournemouth play some nice stuff and it wont be easy but i would like to think this is a game we should win mate..

21 Sep 2017 06:29:16
So now the Niassie debate will rumble on shame he didn't start last night would be good to see what he gave us over 90 mins
Positives he showed a few good touches and took his goal really well
Negatives it wasn't what will be our starting 11 in the league and it was only 24 mins
Personally I think he needs to be given a chance in the league I do think him and dcl could complement each other quite well but can't see koeman giving that a chance as struggle to see where Rooney and siggurdson fit in if playing 2 up top.
Just on a side note and away from any debate on his ability I think the lad deserves massive credit and respect for the attitude he's shown after the way he's been treated so refreshing to see him put his head down and graft especially pleasing when we have had to put up with lukaku attitude and Ross and Kevin both being like stroppy kids it's nice to see that he seems to have the just get on with it approach it may not be the answer but attitude goes a long way and it's as a club what we need.

To be fair Calvert Lewin scoring 2 justifies not starting Niasse. But for me Niasse HAS to be on the bench on Saturday with Calvert Lewin starting, irrespective of whether Rooney plays or not.

I agree mate to be honest I'd like to see them both playing think they could really work well together.
