Good evening my fellow Blues, I hope everyone is up for the trip across the border tomorrow?
My first post on this site was in early December last year (albeit I was using a slightly different pen name at that time) when I posted to tell everyone about running the Liverpool Santa Dash in a blue Santa suit to raise funds for the Everton In The Community charity. The comments I received back were phenomenal with lots of you pledging to run the race for EITC this year.
Well guess what? That time is nearly here, if you go to the EITC website they're starting to release details for it now. It's Sunday 2nd December and is an easy peasy 5km (3.1 miles) round the city centre, you can walk that in 30 minutes.
So come on you lot, put your money where your mouth is, get your trainers out and start putting the miles in. It's all for a good cause and is a great laugh as well.
Right, I'm off to get the car sorted for tomorrow's cross border sorty and I'm hoping to get a quick 5 miler in before we set off in the small hours.
Here's hoping for 3 points tomorrow,

Moody Blue {Ed025's Note - good stuff moody...and i will see you at the dash mate..

Cheers Ed, let's hope the other budding Mo Farrah's haven't got short memories, be terrible to name and shame them on this site.

I think Ossie was given a rough ride after last game. Made one costly mistake for their goal but his general play was v good. It was Neville who I thought was found wanting. I'd be happy to see Ossie in CM being partnered by a better holding mid. A lot want Heitinga, I'd get him in for Distin, and put Felli back there. Team I think DM will pick provided Tony H is absent:

Howard
Neville Jags Heitinga Baines
Felli Osman
Naismith Mirallas Pienaar
Anichebe

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I think the team is gonna look more like

Neville jags distin baines
Osman Pienaar
Naismith felli oviedo
Marallas

Untill half time at least

J0hn80y

(sorry I touched the disagree button by accident, I also hope to see heigtinga but think DM will stick... No twist)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will go with:-

Howard
Neville Jags Distin Baines
Mirallas Felli Johnny Pienaar
Naismith
Anichebe
Or maybe Coleman for Neville, more pace to combat the Swans quick wide players

Agree0 Disagree0

That team would do me..

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think Oviedo will start, if Mirallas had to bide his time (albeit for 1 game) then Oviedo will most definitely.

Besides, who would think of breaking the combo of Pienaar and Baines, I am an Everton fan so may be bias, but as of right now, there is no better combination on the wing than those two, even that person Pardew admitted that.

I really just love seeing those two torture their opponents week in week out, their movement, their vision and their passing is absolutely world class, could watch it all day.

Just wanted to pay a small tribute to a player currently on the books... Jan Mucha. When he signed for us, he stated he hoped to achieve the no 1 jersey. He was a regular for both club and very much for country. 2 years later, he still looks no closer to achieving that spot since that mistake he made last season in the cup. But we haven't heard a peep out of him. He gets on with his job and always looks to be in good spirit on the bench. He has temporarily retired from international football because of this lack of opportunity as he does not feel he currently deserves the Slovakian jersey. I know he is only doing what he's paid to do, but in the modern day, he has a v good attitude and I would not begrudge him the chance to get his career back on track somewhere else.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Agree. Top man, never moans. Unlike Heitinga.

Agree0 Disagree0

I go and see me nan once a week in the nursing home, they have a over eighties team he would not get on the bench he's poo,......tristen

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't moan either if I was being paid thousands to sit around doing nothing all season.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people just like to moan regardless of circumstance {Ed025's Note - you mean like mike..

Don't have a go at me lads, i'm not exactly slating a player here but I've read that Hibbert could be out on Saturday, I prefer Hibbert at right back than Neville BUT with Hibbo being out hopefully this means Neville will move to right back getting him out of midfield!! He has no business in the centre of our midfield!

Hopefully our team tomorrow then will be

Howard

Neville, Jagielka, Heitnga or Distin, Baines

Mirallas, Fellaini, Osman, Pienaar

Naismith
Anichebe (Jelavic is out)

SUBS
Mucha
Coleman
Duffy
Heitinga or Distin
Ovieda
Gueye
Vellios

How this for tomorrow?
Howard
Neville jags distin baines
Coleman Fellani pienaar Oviedo
Mirallas
Anichebe

Oviedo and pienaar could swap positions during the match!

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Hibbert, osman, naismith

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd drop distin for me he's not been the best would prefer johnny heitinga

Agree0 Disagree0

Coleman over naismith?! {Ed025's Note - im with you mate...naisy every time..

Agree0 Disagree0

I never understood why people would drop Distin instead of Jags, I love Jags but there is a reason why one player is players player of the season and the other is player of the season.

The Heitinga and Distin partnership just works, it worked brilliantly in the back end of the season, why Moyes doesn't try it this season I don't know.

If Jelavic is out tomorrow, who starts? Anichebe? He did well I suppose when he came on the other night.

Here's my team

Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Heitinga Baines

Mirallas Osman Neville Pienaar

Fellaini
Anichebe

SUBS
Mucha
Duffy
Distin
Coleman
Ovieda
Gueye
Naismith

Gibson and Jelavic being out is is a blow but I think we can get a win away to Swansea, they play open and leave space everywhere. With the passing play we have adopted this season we should make chances it's just a case of taking them without Jelavic in the side

2 alternative teams vs swansea

howard
hibbert, jags, distin + baines
naismith/mirillas , ossie,heitinga , pienaar
fellaini
mirillas/anichebe

howard
hibbert, jags, disitin/heitinga + baines
coleman, ossie, felli, pienaar
naismith/mirillas
mirillas/vic

i know the second team has felli dropping back into the midfield but i really think that against a team that likes to keep possession like swansea then it is important we keep the ball and have quality on the ball which is why i personally wouldn't have neville in the midfield ( not just based on the criticism from monday night) I would also like to coleman given a run on the right as he looks promising this season (that is if mirillas moves more central)

hey guys im a man utd fan and i was just wondering do you think moyes would leave to become the next manager at united cause i personally think he is one of the best managers around and also i happy that everton have finally got a squad full of good players

Believable2 Unbelievable1

I think if ferguson left and personally asked for moyes then he could unfortunately
BlueClarkey

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a definite maybe lol ...however I would like to ask the Utd fan an honest to goodness question, in view of a strong City and Chelsea et al all having in their sights both CL and PL titles with real potential to succeed ...

How much time would DM get to prove himself ?

Evertonyn.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I think it's inevitable to be honest. That's the job Moyes has wanted since the talk started 4 or 5 years ago.
Moyes could of easily left in the summer if he told Spurs he was interested in the manager's job but he didn't.
He is happy being "comfortable" in the Everton job, he knows he will never be sacked weather we finish 4th or 17th. He's so comfortable it concerns me.
That's why in my opinion he has never looked to have left Everton because in another job he could risk his reputation and be fired and harm his chances of becoming Man United manager.
He is happy to carry on Everton untill Fergie retires and they offer him the job, Sir Bobby Charlton who (i could be wrong) is on the Man United board? has even said Moyes would be his choice for the United job. It will happen, it's just waiting for Fegie to retire.

Steve

Agree0 Disagree0

Man Utd won't look at getting Moyes. They will want a bigger name manager. They will also want a manager who has experience of winning trophies IMO.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I dont think Moyesee is high profile enough thank god, I think you guys will be after Pep or Mourinho, also whoever takes over from SAF is on a hiding to nothing as they will struggle following in his footsteps.

Degsycool

Agree0 Disagree0

The only club he would leave Everton for moyes would only leave for the right relationship with a chairmen not many managers have full control of a club moyes wenger and ferguson only managers who have that control that's why he would never jump ship so unless utd come in for him I can't see him going to be honest regardless of how much money other clubs would give him to spend

Agree0 Disagree0

Do man utd really want to wait 3 or 4 years for Moyes to learn his champs league trade? Moyes is a round peg in a round hole at everton - he's ambitious I know but so is everton and its fans - take us with you moyesy!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ferguson had loads of trophies to his name when he took job didn't he man utd got him and built something they gave him time and it paid off same as kenwright he saw something in moyes from day one and has stuck by him and look at how are club is run now he could of got the sack a few times but he believed in moyes and moyes would want that more than big money to spend he does not play fantasy football where you have 100m to spend he builds year on year and I think this season could be a turning point in the future of our club and I do think moyes wants to achieve everything with Everton if man utd don't go for moyes then he will stay for life maybe he would like the Scotland job when he is older but can see moyes as a man Everton will have for long time he loves the club still unbelievable he has completed 10 years with us another 10 and he should get statue and stand named after him he is the special one

Agree0 Disagree0

They wont take Moyes in my opinion because quite simply he has never won a trophy.
All this "he does well with no money" "everton punch above there weight" annoys me.
Yes, we don't have the budget some teams have but if you worked it out we are probably in the top 10 in regards to spending money.
As for punching above our weight? I really hate that term, we are Everton, the 4th most successful team in England and the longest serving top flight football club in Britain! Top 6 should be where we finish at the minimum. {Ed025's Note - nice post that mate..
