I do think Velios bright future judging by his impact in games earlier in the season, he's still young enough to know he is learning his trade which is positive. I remember part of Victor's problem (and still is to some extent) was that he thought he was better than he actually was and that has kind of folllowed him around. On a another note...have you seen Peanuts ensuring he gets his move back to Goodison...by tweeting congrats to Cheski along with Saha? thereby ensuring he cant go back to Spuds coz the fans won't have him !! excellent news. As long as his rat agent doesn't scupper it, it looks like the little fella may be back home sooner than we think! {Ed025's Note - lets hope so mate..

I think its BS but how have Everton suddenly got 6.5 million {Ed025's Note - maybe bill got a lucky 15 up..

Believable3 Unbelievable1

21 May 2012 20:48:18
For me Jelavic has been the signing of the winter transfer window for the entire EPL. Even better than NUFC's Cisse. 10 goals in 13 games in the league

Ste EFC {Ed025's Note - i agree ste..

If we sign pienaar, fernandez and Dempsey I'll never winge about bull and the board again! Surely we must be able to sort sumet out after the wages we've freed up with player releases and funds from the possible sale of yobo, cahill and vic {Ed025's Note - it would be great mate...but dont get your hopes up...we have been let down in the past..

Team for Next season which is affordable

Howard
Miguel Lopes 2mil
Hetinga
Jagielka
Baines
Donovan/Moses Loan/5mil
Fellaini
Gibson
Pienaar 3/4mil
Dempsey 5mil
Jelavic

Believable4 Unbelievable3

That's 15/16 million pounds, that's not affordable for us at all. Unless you're suggesting Rodwell leaves, but still, can't see more than 12 mil for him.

Would love to us in a friendly this summer with some youngsters in the starting 11.

Davies

Coleman Duffy Dier Garbutt

Junior Barkley Rodwell Gueye

Baxter
Vellios

Not bad in my opinion, our youth coaches do a great job by the way, i went to 5 reserve games last season and a couple of u18's games. There really good players and the coaches are great, the appointment of Weir and Stubbs as the reserve coaches was a masterstroke by the club.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Davies has been released

Agree0 Disagree0

If you want to see that line up get yourself to some reserve matches!

We all no were going to have to sacrifice players in order to bring new faces in and I think the only options would be rodwell hasnt progressed enough jags and anichebe surely your talkin 25 mil + these are replaceable with the likes of huth Dempsey and kracjar all in last years of their contracts not to mention fernandes diame rodellager ect who are free agents ?? Your thoughts ??

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Dont sell Rodwell or Jagielka. Sell Yobo,Cahill,Anichebe and bring in new faces should get around £7m then get in new players although I have heard that this asian club are willing to offer a considerable amount for Cahill.
Joe EFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodwell is a no from me, I think he needs a good run injury free and will become world class.

Jags also a no, on his day he is fop drawer.

Anichebe, I will pay his train fare myself, championship player at best

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

If we were to sacrifice a player for funds it has to be rodwell or jags rather than baines or felli {Ed025's Note - thats true..

Dear Mr Henry,
I am thinking of applying for the available position as Manager. I have coached a five-a-side team of under 8's a few years back so could just be the person you are looking for. There is no need to reply if you think I am over qualified. Thank You. {Ed024's Note - lol, definitely over qualified

I know its not even June yet and everyone deserves a bit of a holiday after the season, BUT i am getting more and more certain by the day that Pienaar is not coming back. There is a myth that business can not be done until the window opens, that is not the case, we could have signed himhim already, he wont not bve permitted to leave Spurs until the 30th of June but he certainly could have agreed terms with us, and Spurs would be well within in their rights to have agreed a fee with us. This actually could have been done before the last game of the season. With that in mind and how upset he Peinaars was in his last interview i think we have lost him.

Forever the killjoy

Svenny {Ed001's Note - the issue is Modric mate, if they lose him Pienaar is his cover.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

If pienaar's on 70k a week, does that mean that spurs are paying him 300k per month during the summer? That's a million quid over three months! Is that how it works? Are footballers wages paid / spread equally over the 52 weeks of the year, even during closed season?

If his value is only 3-5 million then that's a big hit to take him at the start of the summer!

Agree0 Disagree0

Patience my padawan Svenny. The January transfer window opened on the 1st and we didnt sing Jelavic until the 31st.

He will come, but there may be a little wait first for other business to be concluded.

Toffee ace

Agree0 Disagree0

Pienaar will have to take a pay cut which I am sure he will do

Bjorn Sigurdarson - 4m
Hugo Rodallega - Free
Balazs Megyeri - 800k
Steven Pienaar - 4m
Moses - 4m

Outs:
Cahill - 4m+
Yobo - 4m
Distin - Free or 1 or 2 million depending on his contract

-------------Howard
----Hibbo/Neville-Jags-Heitinga-Baines
Moses-Fernandes-Gibson/Rodwell-Pienaar
----------Sigurdarson
----------Jelavic

Wouldn't mind sending Coleman out on a 6 month loan to regain his confidence. Possibly even do a deal with Blackpool and see Matt Philipps OR Tom Ince come our way. {Ed025's Note - i think you need to get in the real world mate...no way will we sign that many players. and you expect 4m each for tim and yobo?...come on!!

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Not going to happen, we are not going to get 4mil each for Yobo and Cahill given their ages. And Distin would be for a free, but I do believe he is staying.

Would just be happy with Pienaar, and maybe throw in Fernandes and no outs, the would be happy days

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to sign these players if we're to have any chance competing in europe. Maybe not Moses but the rest would be great

Agree0 Disagree0

But we arent competing in Europe!
Hopefully next season

Blue Bones

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont need any of them, if we start the sesson as finsihed the last. we'd shock the world. like when rocky beat apollo cread.

Agree0 Disagree0

So Fellani doesn't make the 1st team?

Agree0 Disagree0

Manuel Fernandes - Not gonna happen
Kostas Manolas - Never gonna happen
Bjorn Sigurdason - No chance
Hugo Rodallega - maybe, just maybe
Balazs Megyeri - Probably will happen
Steven Pienaar - This will happen
Moses - No chance

Cahill - Saudi for 2 million
Yobo - 1 million
Distin - will stay

Try Coleman at RB, start giving Barkley some play time, don't sell anyone else.

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Manolas has signed an agreement with another club

Agree0 Disagree0

Ooooook then fellaini on the bench?

Agree0 Disagree0

Degsy, why is there no chance of Manny or Moses? I'd say there's a decent chance that one of them will be at Goodison next season, they're both on frees

FredNSNO

Agree0 Disagree0

Just my opinion mate, I would love them both here but cant see it happening

I think we will get Peanut and a couple of loanees or cheapies

Degy

Agree0 Disagree0

So you wouldn't have Fellaini in your team mate?? Couple of things here, wont get 8 million for Cahill and Yobo, Moses is on a free, Manolos has already agreed to join another team in june, Sigurdason will cost more 4 million and Coleman would probably hand a transfer request in if Moyes asked him to go on loan for 6 months somewhere. {Ed025's Note - your right mate..

Agree0 Disagree0

In fairness, the Icelandic siggurdsson would probably be sub 3million.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not the same Sigurdson whos been at Swansea just in case use that that fella was, He's in the icelandic league and wanted by a few championship clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

If fernaders is on a free, expect a lot more clubs than us to be in for him, everyone thinks cause someones on a free were the club garanteed to get him, why!! {Ed025's Note - why not!...he has history with us..

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand he has history, but that don't make us favourites ed, I stand by what I said, if he's been playing this well, then there will be more than us interested, and people in the que to offer more money, I would like him, but I bet he goes to the highest bidder, he owes us nothing, so past history with us means nothing {Ed025's Note - you may have answered the wrong post mate..

For those of us non technophobes that do not follow Twitter what did peanuts say Fozzmeister

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Like that word Fozzie "Technophobes", is it real ha ha

Good point though, cut and paste the quotes players say for us non Technophobes so we are in the loop

Degsy {Ed025's Note - im still struggling with light switches degsy..

Agree0 Disagree0

Pienaar said congrats to Chelsea, and the Spurs fans as they do, go completely over the top and called him a disgrace blah, blah, blah. Keep it going Stevie, you're going to have to force your way to Everton lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree mate, said a number of times before - If he wants to come to us, he alone has that power, he can force the move easily he if really wants too.

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope saha's not using player power to get back tho degsy

From his stats it look like Manuel Fernandes has has a good season, getting me excited!

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/fernandes/profil/spieler_16791.html

I wasn't a follower back when he was here last so can someone tell me what he was like, what position. Because i think were covered in CM department and ive been hearing thats where he's been playing.

AussieBlue

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Hi Aussie, personally I liked the guy when he was here, I always thought he may have been a bit too good for the team we had then, he was always looking for passes that some of our players were not wuick enough to see, destroyed Arsenal's midfield on one match, classy guy but would never get rid of Felli to put him in his place in a million years

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

He can play almost everywhere in the midfield. That's always a good point for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Last night it said fernandes had signed 3 year deal wid efc on wikipedia now it has been removed stange!!!! {Ed025's Note - anyone can change a wiki profile...take no notice of them..

Agree0 Disagree0

Him and Pienaar and I would be over the moon. I have been looking at some of his highlights from the Everton days, and also during his Besitkas days, scored an absolutely belter for them a couple of months ago, took 3 lads on, and had a pop from 18yds, and much like his goal against United, blasted it home.

Would be an amazing signing, on his official twitter, he did make note, and thank Everton fans for the kind words, so hopefully we can persuade him, because I truly believe the lad is a talented lad, much like Drenthe, except for not being a nut case.

If we have an attacking trio behind Jelavic of Fellaini, Pienaar and Fernandes (add maybe Donovan in Jan), we could be looking at Europe boys.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2012 14:34:59
I found the video of that goal, take a look

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YCRFRPZdVw

Also found another quality goal from him

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XB1zBNsNa-E

Wouldn't mind seeing that in the Everton shirt, and to think, he is for free, I really hope we can sign him.

Agree0 Disagree0

He was a classy player mate. Forward thinking and i agree with Degsy, he was too good for our forward players when he was here. I remember that game when he destroyed Arsenal midfield danced past 3 or 4 players then played a cross field pass! Pure quality, would love to get him here in the summer because he can also play on the right wing

Saudi club want Cahill and are set to offer big money for the ozzy star. What do you think ed?
Stevie_A {Ed025's Note - i spoke to a good friend of tims, and he has his heart set on a move back to australia. he has been a legend for us, and im sure we all wish him well with his future plans, wherever that may take him..

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Just read the source page on Mirror football Ed and I have a feeling if this Saudi club offered him 100K a week for a couple of years then his retirement down under would be put on hole, tax free by the way.

Degsy

Agree0 Disagree0

He will play in Australia eventually, but he said recently he has no intentions of leaving Everton at the moment, I reckon that at the end of his contract he will join the A-League, as the clubs in Australia don't really pay transfer fees.

Agree0 Disagree0

More of a gripe than a comment and hoping some support from you lot out there. Did anyone notice that Rooney picked up his first yellow card of the season last game? Whilst I know he has matured and calmed down, it just proves a point that I have been making that the so called top teams are treated differently by referees. He had 10 bookings with us in about as many games. He goes to United and immediately drops to 7 or 8 a season.... and now 1 a season. This has a major impact over clubs with smaller squads. Suspensions hit harder. It makes me laugh when commentators on tv say the referee acted with common sense because it was early or late in a game. I know of no rule which states let a player off a bad tackle or dissent because the game is 80 minutes gone. Rules are rules refs treat us the same as Man UTD, Chelski, The Arse etc

Believable4 Unbelievable1

That is a quite astonishing stat considering you can lip read him telling the ref and lino's to f*ck off every 5 minutes of every match. He should be booked every game!
