Right ok, let's be patient. So who are we watching for as a Striker in the pre season games. No Lukaku, Traore or Kone. So that leaves ermm Naisy, Mcaleny, Hope?, err anyone else?

Calm down, calm down. Listen boys and girls. I have said all along that Lukaku is the target for RM. He obviously has second choice and third choice options, but Lukaku is his main target. Yesterday Jose says that is all of Chelsea's dealings complete. I said utter tosh. A few came on and quoted Jose's statement. I had a feeling that Drogba was on the cards. Lukaku was bought by Chelsea to be his replacement, but in Jose's eyes has never lived up to expectations. If Dragba signs for them, then Lukaku will be surplus to requirements. More importantly, he will be totally pi**ed off with Jose and want to leave them. Then it is up to the highest bidder. Manchester United might just be a problem there, but Chelsea will not want him to go there. Athletico? Maybe. Us? Also maybe. Remember my post!

Exactly he had no idea he would sign , if he had why didn 't he post it before it broke. How hard is it to predict something after it's happened and say remember my post. Has he thought of the idea Drogba may be coming to tutor Lukaku, he's his hero. I could be wrong but I'm not stating the obvious AFTER the event. why oh why are we so slow, we have cash from fellaini and we have around 45 million extra money from sky this year we don't have a debt anymore to service so come on, its so frustrating being a blue I trust Martinez 100% its kenwright opening his wallet I worry about the problem is there are not a lot of number nines around and the ones that are no clubs want to release! COYB make us happy!

Op did confuse me not sure where he got debt free from don't think we have been debt free in my lifetime and i'm 40 years old and doubt we will be in my lifetime if I live to a hundred

How much do you believe everton have to spend, since the premier division started we have a average spend of £2 million a season after sales and buys, we also have one of the smallest squads, so forgive for not being optimistic about any buys without a sale.Maybe a couple of loans. And if we do buy lukaku or any other big signature then I would be fearing the worst come close to deadline day regarding Ross.

{Ed025's Note - i reckon we have in excess of £30m joe, the sky money this year plus the fellaini dosh has given us a decent war chest mate..

While 30 mil sounds a lot Ed25 realistically it's lukaku if we can get him,Besic and that's about it apart from whatever loans we can conjure up.unfortunately in today's ridiculous markets that's about the long and the short of it.On the bright side we could have spent our budget on borini and McCormack.

I totally understand how frustrating the Lukaku saga is for all of us Evertonians, however you have to trust RM is aware of the timings caused by the WC and his hols, however has there ever been a really strong link to him going anywhere else, another team bidding on him .? It has been stated that we are in contact with chelsea, so if it is not going to happen we will move on to our next target.

The thing is, Wakka, with the exception of Spurs every other Premiership club is has been doing business. They've been faced with the same timetables but have still remained active.

I'm sure we'll get some players in but right now it's extremely frustrating and I do think it will soon get to the point where it affects the start of the season - you remember how infuriating the first few games were last year?

the only piece to the starting 11 puzzle that is missing is the striker. everyone else who ended last season would presumably be our starting 11. the infuriating part of the start of the 2013-14 season was the change in tactics from hump it to fellaini to pass the ball and progress under martinez. this does not start again as the same players who ended the 2014 season in fine form will be rearing to go at the start of the new season with the same tactics (the only emmision from the starting line up in May being Lukaku) I feel we will hit the ground running, as long as we get a striker in who is strong and powerful and able to hold the ball up like lukaku showed in a number of games last season but can also guarentee 20 goals a season. I'm unsure whether Bacca would fit the bill on both counts and struggle to think of other strikers within our budget that could fit the role, which is why Martinez is holding out for Lukaku. I think RM believes Bony either would want too much wages or is too old to justify his large asking price. Although he would more than likely do the job, Lukaku seems a better fit long term offering Everton a more sustainable goal scorer for seasons to come. The obvious problem with this is the saga we have already seen unfold. The waiting game of will he won't he sign.
