Straights up question. Would you sell jagielka in order to sign dann and nzogbia? {Ed025's Note - absolutely..NO...the stability of our defence is reliant on jags...and for me, its the most important facet of the side..

Hi Ed, I haven't been on for a long while but I have some genuinly valuable information... The company I am employed by have been approached over the last 2 months in an official capacity by EFC for funding/sponsorship, however the company I am employed by whilst they are an extremely profitable plc and they were very keen to make a donotion/sponsor a number of players estimted in the region of £1.5m, have suddenly had a change of heart and subsequently declined any such notion of providing funds, a very close individual within the hierarchy of my empoyers has indicated the main reason for their change of mind had been the intervention of EFC's CEO (Robert Elstone) who when he eventually decided to co-operate ie turn up after an hour late Our CEO and FD whilst not very impressed by this also decided that MR Elstones business accumen was left wanting....therfore no money for EFC, allegedly it was mentioned 3 weeks ago that Arsenal had place an unofficial offer of £10M plus Bednter this has yet to come out in the media however the outcome has been the same "a rebuffel" but it has also been mentioned that EFC are willing to sacrifice any player on their books for in the region of £20+m in order to provide DM Funds. so how can a plc offer a player sponsorship money when that very same PLC doesn't know if the player(s) they are sponsoring are going to be wearing an everton shirt at the start/end of the season.......makes me wonder what we pay RE for as he is potentially burning out future investors because he doesn't have a clue and evades genuinely valid questions by people who would like answers before they give the club money... I mean if you take our love of the club out of the equasion and based it solely on business would you give someone £1.5m without knowing what you are getting for it.... {Ed025's Note - if your information is correct..it is a sad indictment of our great club...but not surprising....the men at the top..seem to be letting the club down...and the lack of information to the supporters..is a slap in the face,to our loyalty..

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I forgot to menion Ed, they were very impressed with the way BK conducted his perception of the club and his vision/goal but he just couldn't give the gaurantees the company were looking for in the timescales that was required, whilst his honesty was admirable it lacked clarity but then RE piped in and they felt it was sheer desperation tactics they said it was like the tv show The Apprentice where they are all in the boardroom at the end.... very "cringeworthy", they mentioned they felt for BK but he just couldn't deliver on commitments made by others {Ed025's Note - you mean...he was not up to the job?....why am i not surprised!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think your average supporter would start to wonder after a while about the problems we seem to have on the development / business side. First there was the Kirby project - as far as I'm aware we found out nothing about WHY that had been knocked back - regardless of whether you're for or against it, EFC is a privately owned business and a majority of the supporters voted in favour - how come some 'suit' in Whitehall was allowed to block what could have been a massive deal for us?
On what grounds, and why did we not appeal or resubmit after the government was changed? All that effort and we just give up becasue someone we've never heard of says no.
Then there was the Park End development scheme - again suffering from delays / postponement etc becasue of some legal hitch - again we don't find out why, suggesting another cock-up.

After a while you start to wonder.

Then there's this post above.
Not sure what to make of it, but surely no club can guarantee which players will be at the club at the start of next season? There's a transfer window open and bids come in and go out.
As if anyone can say 100% that this player will definitely be here next season.
What if someone bid 50m for Baines? He'd be on his way.

Is this post just designed to undermine RE?
Well, if so, after the cock ups on Kirby and Park End, he's left himself open to it hasn't he?
He needs some 'successes' to rebalance things in his favour. {Ed025's Note - its the way the fans are treated...that is my concern...we get no information from the club..this code of silece, they have adopted, is giving all us supporters the jitters..it was not long back, that there were rumours of administration....we need to know the score...so come everton!, lets see some transparency.

Agree0 Disagree0

Atleast make a provision to sell team jersey for thier global fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry if my interpritation was misleading towards RE (Thats not the way it was intended) reading it back it does sound pretty damning, the main reason for the post was too highlight the fact that if their is any money available then it will not be much, as there isn't many busineses/plc's that will invest in something or someone without having some assurances eg you wanted to sponsor Jags for this coming season at a cost of £1m yet if he was sold then you second option would be Baines for the same fee, yet EFC couldn't assure you of either, but instaed your £1m investment would be say a youth player you would be a bit pi**ed off to say the least as the commercial rights to jags and baines would be more enticing to a business than a lesser known player....

this makes me wonder as an evertonian is this one of the reasons why we can't get some local/british investment into the club to assist DM, the company i am employed by have a total turnover of just short of £900m with a net profit of £99m so they weren't just joking around they were serious investers yet EFC treated them with what was generally felt like a money is in the bag we are EFC they will give us it......leaving me personally a bit dispondent coz if this is how we (EFC) conduct our buiseness then there is something fundementally floored and needs addressing quickly before we burn out any other investors, today as a company we have just invested money (amount not disclosed as yet in an SPL outfit) and also another local (Mersyside team) not Liverpool.....(again amount not disclosed) you will see advertising of the company in and around the grounds.. under subsiduary names rather than the PLC names.....and this makes me angry as it should of been everton. {Ed025's Note - thanks a lot for that info mate...i do believe you!..it just goes to show that our boardroom..is a snake pit..snooing with charlatans & cads, who are kidding the boll*cks off the suppoters who ultimately pay their wages...i am disgusted!

Watched the friendly last night, was surprised at how good vellios looked Very srtong and composed and dangerous on the ground and in the air. Barkley looked a great prospect aswell and gueye showed he can be a big player this season for us.
With them, plus rodwell, feliani and coleman.... all under 23 we have a great back bone of young players mixed with players like arteta, cahill, baines and jags, its not all bad like some fans are suggesting
All we need, and we have needed the same since last summer is a striker and i think we can be the team to challenge the top 4...... liverpool and spurs have some quality but we have quality and in my opinion the best team spirit and togetherness in the league, with the addition of a good striker we will be the team challenging and not them two, i know one man doesn't make a team but it's so clear at everton that we need a top striker, everywhere else we are solid
Paul EFC {Ed025's Note - great post paul....everything you say is true...my biggest worry now....is that we might sell 1 or2 of our big names! if that happens...i really fear for the future..

I think with our financial restrictions we may be priced out of top target Nzogbia. How about hijacking Bolton's move for Jeffren? Surely Everton have more to offer than Bolton. He would probably be half the price of Nzogbia. Then get Sturridge or Pavylechenko in that would give us a strong team. {Ed025's Note - i dont think we can even afford jeffren..at the moment, i think we are looking at loan moves....

Apparently Moyes is trying his best to keep Jagielka but the board want to sell him if arsenal improve there bid to 12million (the same as they bidded in january) {Ed025's Note - if that is true.....and jags leaves....moyes may follow him out the door....and if he does?.... all us blues fans will be....as sick as sea going parrots..

Phil Jagielka has played 113 times for Everton and im afraid to say he will play no more, a deal is being struck as we speak sending jags to Arsenal and Bendtner and a nominal fee to Everton {Ed025's Note - i hope you are wrong...on both counts........

I dont see why we dont go for players like Christian Benitez who was on loan at Birmingham 2 season ago i think? He would be available on the cheap, hes fast, got strength, may lack height but he does know where the goal is.

Surley weve got atleast 3mil in our kitty? come on Bill pull your finger out or get out.

COYB {Ed025's Note - im sure david has looked at many players...whether or not he gets any money to buy them.....is another thing.

Its been said that Mr Rednappe is interested in Rodwell.
I think Everton should ask for Defoe, & 10m. Then try to fast track Yak & Yobo out of Goodison for 6m combined and get in Inzogbia 10m & Holtby 6m.

24. Howard
18. Neville Subs
3. Baines 1. Mucha
5. Heitinga 12. Coleman
6. Jagielka 15. Distin
25. Fellaini 14. Holtby
10. Arteta 19. Gueye / Billy.
21. Osman 8. Saha
11. Inzogbia 16. Beckford.
17. Cahill
9. Defoe. {Ed025's Note - that would be great....but i cant see us getting defoe + 10m for rodders....just my opinion..

I find it makes my s**t itch to keep reading everyone saying we want and need Shane Long? He is a good Championship player. He's unproven at our level. Christ, for the money that is being quoted for him we could buy a class finisher who has proven ability at our level. 10-12 million for him? come on, for that we could get Jermaine Defo who I believe is a far far far far far far better signing for now and longer term.

We took a big chance on Beckford and I'm still not convinced on him and I think his attitude isn't what it should be for an Everton player but hey, lets not get carried away. He was worth a punt as he was free, anyway, isn't Shane Long near on classed as a midget? {Ed025's Note - theres no way we will pay £10m for long....7 tops.....defoe would be good for us...but i think he would cost double that..

21 Jul 2011 19:04:25
if current england international prices are anything to go by, ie:- such as the geordie lampost across the park £35m and the other laugable signing downing at £20m then lescott at £22m to citee then £10m for a player who has signed a 4 yr contract recently is laughable and wouldn't buy half a leg never mind a player in his prime, my valuation would be in excess of £30m but then again who could even replace Jags (No-One). No sale MR V go back to looking after your own players who are desperate to leave you and leave our players alone I wouldn't sell you the steam of a sh*te after that insulting offer. {Ed025's Note - i hope you are listening ..mr wenger

21 Jul 2011 18:16:46
we got 24 million for lescott, jags is a better and more important player for us than lescott, so 20 million isnt enough, come back with somethin nearer the 30 million mark arsene {Ed025's Note - or even better....leave us alone!

Please tell me what you think of this idea
Sell:
Heitinga
Yakubu
Yobo
Mikel Arteta

Buy:
Keisuke Honda to replace Mikel Arteta
Shane Long
And if enough is left over buy Charles N'Zogbia for the wing or Scott Dann to partner Jagielka at centre back
If we don't have enough left over we can probaly rely on 2 or 3 of the youth players

Leave Holtby till January because he will probaly sign for us if we come asking {Ed025's Note - i dont think dann..would get a start..heitinga, is as good.....but i would sell yak & yobo, to fund the long signing...for me....arteta is a better player than honda..

I agree with many on here including you ED, I would be absolutely over the moon if we just signed 1 quality striker but kept all our gold intact....Get rid of Yak and Jobo and that should give us enough money to go and buy Jermaine Defoe, He is totally the man we need, the missing piece in the jigsaw.......We could get him for 12mill, funded by 5.5m from peanuts and vaughny, then a further 6- 7 for yak and yobo...job done, then we dont need to sell any of our big assets......I could honestly see an outside chance of top four if we can prise defoe away and not lose any players...what do you think ED? {Ed025's Note - that would work for me mate, you have worked it out very well...so why cant the powers that be..at goodison..do something similar?....i hope you become our next chairman......well done..

Ed please tell me Jagielka is staying, if not 20 million is the tag if I'm right, that could sign an instant replacement in Scott Dann then we can afford lewis holtby and N'zogbia {Ed025's Note - i hope he is staying...but if he does go...we will not be able to buy them 3, for £20M...

that french arrogant t**t is incredible. He criticices anyone that says anything about his beloved arsenal but has no respect for any other club. Last summer he bid 12m for jags, worth much more in my opinion but fair enough decent opening offer. A year later and he makes another bid, this time 10m, is he really this stupid. He has just basically told jags i want you, but ur not that good and have gone down hill since last season (2m downhill to be exact). He's not a very bright man and i love watching his arsenal disintegrate, enjoy your last season in the champions league for a very long time. The positive out of this is Jags, to me he comes across as a down to earth loyal guy, and i think even if we accepted an offer he would want to stay with us. Jags = future everton skipper.

Whats the rumours today then people? Who do people think we will actually sign? Realisticaly tho, i dont want to hear names like welbeck and sturridge, because they wont be at goodison full stop. I really like shane long and think he fits the everton mould and would be a good positional replacement for cahill (i only say that because i think hes struggling with his ankle and is ageing) I would also love to see lewis holtby at the club that he loves. Not everyday you hear players saying they want to play for everton is it.

Last night just proved we need a striker pre season or not... Vellios looked good when he came on but we cant rely on him... neville looked poor last night to i dont even care if we dont get N'zogbia just get a striker and we will be fine... and for everyone saying we will be ok without any injuries dont we say this every year? are medical staff must be doing something wrong Yakubu and Yobo out defoe in or just get wellbeck on loan if rodwell goes fair enough then we buy N'zogbia but i wouldnt mind if we only buy a striker, Magaye will be good this year {Ed025's Note - thats all im asking for, as well mate...but i also dont want any top players to leave..

21 Jul 2011 13:49:12
I believe that one big issue we have is Cahill. It's a bit of a catch 22 situation. Tim always gives his best and every year scores some fantastic goals with his head and regularly punches above his weight (Ie poor on pace/vision/skill/passing/link play
But he does give everything in his locker.

The real problem is that it is just not enough Moyes has got to recognise this and stop being loyal to him - for allhis sterling effort and goals- with him we become terribly one dimensional and players around him become less able to fulfil their own personal potential as a result. {Ed025's Note - cant say i agree with you mate...i dont think he is the most gifted of players....but he gives us something that is priceless..GOALS!..at times..if tim did,nt score it was everton nil!....he also wears the shirt with pride..and you cant say that about all our players..so im afraid we will have to agree, to disagree.

Everton have rejected a £10m bid for Phil Jagielka.
Typical Wenger being the tight arsed pr*** that he is, Jags i worth a minimum of £25m in my opinion, I don't want to sell him at all though as does all of us Blues. I mean if Lescott (the elephant man) is worth £25m, what is Jags worth? {Ed025's Note - totally agree mate...if we start selling our best players...its a very slippery slope..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I think if they come back with another bid, we should say yes you can have Jags for Van Persie + £5m, and see how Arsenal feel when players are devauled by other clubs {Ed025's Note - or fabregas, plus £10m.....

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jul 2011 12:13:31
Ed i meant he was a shining example to the rest of the squad in the way DM wants us to play and the effort he expects from everyone in the team. No one works harder than the wee man ossie. Dont get me wrong id rather have more technicaly gifted players in the team, but we all know what gets the goodison crowd going and that is a hard worker. Can we please also get rid of Anichebe (possibly the biggest waste of space going, how the hell did he become a pro footballer?? Cant control, pass or shoot and everytime he runs he looks like hes gonna fall over). And also Jonny "talk to much" Heitinga, who does this guy think he is, all he does is run around like a headless chicken kicking people , hes at a great club and all he talks about is bayern munich and barcelona, someone really needs to sit him down and say, look jonno your not that good, especially as it takes injuries for him to get into our squad. I would love to see the back of both of them. {Ed025's Note - i must say..i agree with the anichebe shout, when he was younger, he looked very promising, but if anything..has gone backwards...personally..i dont mind heitinga...he is a big gob! but he is also quite versatile..and for me, a good squad player..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Osman is actually a very good player, great touch, composure and ability. If he didn't play for us he'd have a shout in the England team, football is missing players like Ossie and Hibbo, passionate about their club and were their heart on their sleeve That's why I'd like Lewis Holtby(Die hard Evertoninan), Anichebe is extremely poor, sell him now. I'd accept 500k. {Ed025's Note - passion in football is vital...thats why yak, yobo, & anichebe...should be shown the door!..ossie is a quality player..but i only see hibbo, as a squad player.....i have not seen enough of holtby..to make an informed decision.

Why does everyone keep saying on here that if we have luck on the injury front we will be alright? What a load of rubbish. We had a fully fit squad at the start of the season and look how well we did there, ok we were a bit unlucky in games such as villa away were we battered them but home games we were awful again. Then second half of the season comes, we have injury galore, for example: fellaini, cahill, arteta, saha, rodwell. We ended up with top 4 form in the last few months playing the likes of Heitinga and neville in midfield (dont get me wrong i didnt enjoy seeing these 2 in midfield, but points dont lie, it obviously worked) So can everyone stop talking crap about injuries We have a good, hard working squad which needs to be rotated as I find some of our players get a little bit to comfortable at times where they expect to be in the team without any effort put in. DM should use LEON OSMAN as the shining example, he gives 100% in every game and does his best for the team. Not the greatest player in the world but invaluable to us. Leon you are the pulse of everton football club, good on ya What does everyone think? {Ed025's Note - i think you talk a lot of sense...the point about players getting comfortable, is spot on!...but to be honest...i have accused osman of that in the past, i rate him as a very good player, but as a shining example?..not for me..i agree that we have a good hard working squad, and that we will do well this season..if we dont sell off the family silver..

Believable3 Unbelievable0

EXACTLY, during pre-season we had a fully fit team and even I was thinking we could challenge with top 4 but no, we do everything the hard way. We actually did better with our best players out, second half of the season we had youngsters and subs starting and we did brilliant. Perfect example of the "big" players getting comfortable, the subs and youngsters WILL and DO give them a run for their money {Ed025's Note - thats where a bigger squad comes in to play...i dont know about you....but i have no problem with so called "stars" being left out..if they are not doing the business, and i dont care who they are!...i say..drop them..the only problem for david, is that the squad is a bit thin(excluding yak) and he may have to bite his lip at times..

Agree0 Disagree0

Loved the Yak pun But yeah, I agree. Pick players who are actually impressing everyone, not the players who are in horrible form. Eg. Arteta was very poor at the start of last season but continually got a starting place. Don't even get me started on Anichebe, how he starts a game in the Premier League blows my mind {Ed025's Note - dont know about you..but i would rather see a youngster, wearing the shirt with pride, and giving 100%, than a superstar..strolling around the pitch, who does,nt hurt..when we lose..

Further to comments reference to the Jags deal to Arsenal.

Bentnar is not interested in coming to Everton so Arsenal just cut him out of the deal. They then offered just 12 million.

This was knocked back by Everton, there was further talk today for another bid of 14 million plus add ons, therefore upto 18 million.

Hopefully Everton will knock that back too {Ed025's Note - if they dont..there will be hell to pay...if jags goes....then what will we have become...a selling club?...if we get big money offered..do we sell all our stars?...maybe the circus...that is our board...are waiting for the season tickets to be sold..so they can stab us in the back...i am very angry at the moment so i will wait and see...

Not a rumour but information that I have received from a very reliable source.
Zoggs holding for a move to Everton. Wigan have agreed and are currently waiting for us to raise the cash. This will come from the sales of the Yak and Yobo. We do have about 2 to 3 Mill currently available.
Rodwell will be going, possibly to Chelsea or Madrid.
The purchase of a striker will depend on how much we get for him. There are a couple of possibilities on the list but I was not informed of who. I was just told that some of them have not even been mentioned in the media. They are keeping the cards very close to their chest.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

N'Zogbia does seem to be holding out for something and I have heard it is 60k a week but we live in hope.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to believe this to be through, but Wigan will want it sooner so they can get a player or 2 in while theres time. Dont see them waiting on Everton to sell Yak & Yobo as no one appears interested in them. Would love to see Inzogbia join us but I believe that Villa will meet there 10m asking price first and he will be off. God I hope I am wrong. {Ed025's Note - i dont think he fancies villa...maybe he is waiting for us...but we need to get a move on..or we will lose him..

Hi Eds, any news on a possible cash plus Poulson from Liverpool for Baines? Not sure about Poulson, but lots of rumours of Baines leaving. He was great last season too. {Ed025's Note - baines...is going nowhere....and certainly not across the park!....and why would we take poulson???...he is crap...i suspect you are either, yanking my chain...or you are a mischievious red..with nothing better to do..

Poulson is poison and would not get a game for our reserves, Baines currently is the best left back in the premier league which suggests u must be a red or a complete clown.
