Just been on the EFC site and spotted the picture of our title winning side from 86/87. Hard to believe 25 years have passed! I can remember being at my Nan's as a 13 year old and watching the news report on TV, seeing Pat Van Den Hauwe netting the winner and Norwich! Memories anyone? BlueTone

Great thought provoking post BlueTone. Nice one. I'll never forget my first game. My Dad took me... amazing fella... You never forget the feeling of walking up the steps to the upper bullens and seeing the greenness of the pitch and the vastness of the stadium. The atmosphere grips you instantly. We won 1-0 against Luton. Tony Cottee rounded the keeper and slotted it home. The roar I heard from the crowd is something that stays with you forever and to be able to join in with that is what makes us all Blues for life. When my Dad was younger he used to go home and away, without fail. You could write a book with some of the tales he tells. Too much to go into but some crazy stuff. Everton F.C. really is in our hearts and our souls.

First ever match for me was at ten years old, me and my cousin in the gwlydas street stood up with a wooden post in front of us getting crushed to death lol, cyril regis attacking the gwlydas street end and a thousand bananas getting thrown onto the pitch, that was a sad time for black people and thankfully has been eradicated from our great club.
Beside that bad point though still loved everything else

I was 7 the first time i went to Goodison with my grandad can't remember much about the actual game but we played wimbledon and won and i think Tony Cottee scored ! All i remember was walking up the steps in the main stand and being amazed by the size and the sound of the place and loads of old men smoking roll up's ha ha and i remember getting a pizza after the game ! Iv'e been attached ever since, Evertonains are born, not manufactured............

My 1st game was away at Wrexham, in something like the Milk Cup or it may have been the Cup Winners Cup!
We won 0-5 and Cottee scored a hat-trick, was around 1990
1st experience of Goodison wasn't until a few years later, a night game against man city, we drew 1-1

You lot are making me feel really old!!! Maybe even older than Ed025! My first match was against Birmingham City in '66, I think. My hero at that time was Fred Pickering, (What is it with us Evertonians & centre forwards?!) Went with my old fella & Uncle Eddie Mac,(who was the one that made me a life long Evertonian - thanks & God bless, Eddie). Sat in the Park End & watched a 0-0 draw. I was still hooked & still get that same shiver down the spine as I climb the steps & that famous old pitch comes into view! And I'm old enough to remember the Z-Cars theme when it was on TV! Happy memories, though.

Staggered at all the great posts and memories my post has stirred! My first game was at home to Watford in 86/87. Seem to recall Mountfield scoring at both ends, one of them was a twice taken penalty when a hessian sack went flying across the goalmouth as he took the kick (this was shown on A Question of Sport in the 'what happens next' round some years later!). I still recall (and still get the same buzz now) as I walk up the steps and spot the pitch for the first time - still takes my breath away, just as it did when I took my kids to their first ever game - a West Ham fixture a couple of years ago! I love this club! To coin a phrase 'Once Everton touches you, nothing else is the same'. BlueTone

The sun glinting off the FA cup when Ratters lifted it up in 84, tears in me eyes. It was the first time I'd seen an Everton captain lifting a trophy, well apart form Mick Lyons holding the Brill Cream Trophy, when we won Super Stars in the 70's. Does anyone remember Andy King and Geoff Capes squaring up to each other? Priceless. Oh and Bayern Munich at Goodison....enough said. (Wavertree Blue)

Im going to get shot down here, because maybe im dreaming. but I've just seen on talk sport that real Madrid have said kaka can go on a free in the summer. now I know what your thinking but Kaka is actually a mad everton fan and even said last yyear in an interview that if we ever could get the money to buy him he'd move to us. and if you dont believe me even look on the internet theres a picture of kaka and cahill together in there kits at the fifa 12 photo shoot and according to tim kaka was starstruck and came over asing for a photo like a little kid! If we do get bought before the summer who knows ? but like I say I might just be dreaming here.

Straqualersui donated his heart to a hospital.....twice.
Straqualersui doesn't breathe, he holds air hostage.
Straqualersui was pronounced dead on the pitch. He got up and said he will run it off.
ha ha ha just read some of these on twitter, thought i'd share !! {Ed013's Note - I take it he is the new Chuck Norris!}

Half time in the mini derby. Barkley looks way too good for the reserves, decent half, Eric Dier who i also like the look of is playing well and should of scored with a header from a Gueye corner. Liverpool reserves had one decent chance aswell but Hanhnamen saved well. Baxter, Gueye, Coleman, Barkley and Forshaw all look dangerous. Future is bright for the blue men. David Weir is centre back ha ha

90 minutes away from wembley! And looking more comfortable in the league! Keep this up and we will qualify for europe next season by either finishing top 7 or reaching/winnining cup final! (Am i right in thinking that making it to the cup final will be enough for a european spot! Win or lose?)
Believable1

No mate, only the winners get a place in Europe.
bit that place is gonna be ours

Yes if we play a team in the final that has finished in the top 6 and qualified for europe and we lose then the runner's up get a european spot aswell. Stoke finished 10th last season and got a europa spot because the winners (man city) had already qualified for europe

Doesnt it depend on if the winners qualify through league position?

Jelavic needs surgery out for another 8 weeks. Only we can go out and buy a striker for the first time in 3 or 4 years and he plays 20 minutes against Wigan and is now probably not going to play for the season !! Good job Straqaulersui has hit some form or we would be knackered !!
