We all love Tim Cahill but I thought he looked jaded yesterday.probably playing too many games for Austrailia {Ed025's Note - tim for me ..is in the twilight of his career, he has been a great servant, but i see him as a bit part player this season..

I'd rather we got 5m+Sturridge for Rodwell, if we got all £15m or whatever, it'd ALL go in the bank

GP {Ed025's Note - his value may have gone down....straight swap would do for me..

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Think Sturridge is worth more than Rodwell now. If Rodwell puts in some good displays by Jan might get a swap if Sturridge is not getting much game time at Chelsea. Lets hope. {Ed025's Note - have you only just realised?

I think we should cash in on rodwell and bilyaletdinov pay some of the bank back replace them two players in the squad with gueye and barkley, with also in my opinion giving vellios more game time.
Doing this will not harm the squad, i think we get some sky money in september, if we can hang on in there in and around top 7 or 8 we could use a couple of million in january to bring in a fresh face and push all the way to may to get a europa spot.
I know it's not as easy as that, but something needs doing to sort this mess out, and by the looks of it the club don't seem to have a plan to get us out

There were very few positives to take from yesterdays performance. Granted we were set up wrong players played out of positions and only 1 up front. Barkley was outstanding. Howard had nothing to do so cant be judged. Distin, Heitinga, and Baines were ok. Jagielka was at fault for the goal. Rodwell and Cahill were average. Neville, Osman and Beckford were disgraceful. Fellaini, Arteta and Saha were clearly not match fit which meant they were very poor.So we can only get better but without 2 players a winger and a striker in soon its going to be a long hard winter. With out these best we can hope for is mid table and thats just unacceptable. BK and the board must step a side and find someone that can afford to take us forward before we fall to far behind.

IF Yobo and Yak go which as of yet does not look certain, Kenwright has said the money will go on trying to balance the debt as opposed to bringing in new players and apparently the names on the transfer list are Yobo, Yak, Rodwell and Billy, the chances are if we even do sell any of these players we will sell only 2 of these players at the absolute maximum, but knowing everton we probably wont bring anyone in unless we get Yobo and Yakubus wage's off the bill then possibly a lone move but as of now, dont expect anything to happen arround Goodison Park.

Rodwell to Chelsea for £5million and
Daniel Sturridge.

Bilyaletdinov to Spartak Moscow,
swap deal for Aiden McGeady.

Yobo to Fenerbahçe for £3million.

Yakubu to Nottingham Forest for
£4million.

Total:

£12million

Donovan in from LA Galaxy for
£10million. Ideal because he can
play on the wing and up front.

Other £2million to bank.

Listening to 606 on5 live before and an everton shareholder came on to say that EFC had to take a operating loan out on the 5th august to see us through the season, this being just over 12 million quid, the loan was underwritten at a cost of 10% ( I know ) by a company registered in the west indies, this company is owned by Robert Earl The very same that sits on our board So in short we have no money what so ever the board are doing all they can to find much needed investment, whilst hitting us for 1.2 million quid for an arrangement fee I hope and pray that more of this comes out very soon and the crooks are thrown out I have no time for the reds**te ever but they way they got rid of the yanks and turned themselves around through fan power was tremendous.... More of the same for the blue half I say

Atleast we didn't play bad against QPR.
We were very unlucky with our chances like Cahilll's header and Baines' freekisck that hit the crossbar. Also we should have gotten a penalty early on when Rodwell was taken down.
No offence to QPR but we were dominating the game and they were fairly lucky.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

we were getting outplayed by QPR at times in the game, we were simply not good enough. Yes we were unlucky at times but I hate to say it, we didn't deserve much out of the game. QPR took there chance and did pass it better at times...

52 weeks ago rewind the clock a defeat at Blackburn and the knives were being sharpened. It's where we finish in May that counts, get behind the team. We choose to be an Evertonian and go to the games if we want anything different and demand success we will have to be patient and believe in moyes. We will come good, we always do. COYB

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Ah, but therein lies the rub, dear sir. Eventually, we will start poorly, and end poorly and be in a relegation dogfight...this is the season...I have been saying bottom ten since the beginning of pre-season, and I have seen nothing thus far that has changed my mind.

Firstly may I congratulate QPR on their first Premier League win since 1997, as fortuitous as it may be. The fact of the matter is that yesterday we played well, despite the score. 14 shots on goals, 7 on target in comparison to QPRs 4 shots and 3 on target. So that in itself shows that we dominated the game in that aspect. We also edged possession. You may notice the lack of key players such as Bilyaletdinov, Gueye, Arteta, Fellaini, Saha and Coleman, if these were either fully fit or available to play I'm pretty certain that Moyes wouldn't of set out with that formation or lineup. When we have those players back 100% fit we should have a team capable of beating anyone put in front of them on their day. We also have a brilliant manager in David Moyes, something we should be trying to keep hold of. Not bashing around when we have a hiccup such as this.
We should of won today, but we didn't.
But it wasn't because we are completely useless, QPR just managed to score a flukey goal where we wasted the many opportunitys that were put in front of us.

It's a Grand Old Team to play for.
It's a Grand Old Team to support.

Nil Satis Nisi Optimum.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

At least get your facts right. QPR had 1 shot on target the goal and 1 shot off target thats it. Howard did not make any saves. You did get Everton stats correct mind.

Howard
Neville

Distin
Baines

Barkley (right)
Fellaini
Osman
Arteta

Saha
Beckford

I'd leave cahilll on the bench to come on if needed i know he's a legend, but he's not the player he was but still dangerous in the box so still usefull.

Cant see moyes going 4-4-2 though

I have been an ardant supporter of BK over the years but even I have got sick and tired of defending him with fellow supporters he and his staff have become undefendable.
Since his so called heartfelt speech the otherday he has slammed in the final nail in his own coffin, I have now turned to the otherside and will be one of many supporters who will be glad see the back of him.
He has over the last number of years conned us all by his total accounting ineptitude "Where is the lost £20million quid" get the feckin fraud squad in" any other business would of done this by now....
Make the supporters club THE SUPPORTERS CLUB and put it on the Stock Market let us buy the shares and decide who buys our club not Bill Kenwright I honest couldn't careless now if Gadaffi, Hitler, Saddam Hussain and Idi Amin bought our club. (Coz BK) Why won't no-one buy us their must be something fundementally wrong from within our club for no-one to step.

After yesterdays abysmal performance all over the park (possibly with the exception of barkley and bainsey) we were damn woefull that is the worst performance of an everton team since Colin Harvey was Manager. no fight, no spirit, no imagination infact we just didn't have a bloody clue we were aswell fielding 10 lads from the stands they would of showed more commitment I would rather we got beat 9-0 every game as long as we gave it our all each time but the players looked as though the couldn't give a monkeys and why moysey is persisant in having 1 up front beggars belief....ATTACK MAN WE ARE THE HOME TEAM FGS.......ARRRRGGGGG why are we so frustrating to watch....I really do worry for us....and I know its only 1 game gone in the season but ffs lads be honest we were shocking in the freidlies aswell, if we keep this up it will be backs to the wall all season and we will be in a relegation battle and none of us want that....IF we go down we will not be able to buy our way back out of it..

Rosary beads were ratteling at mass today in the hopes our prayers maybe answered sooner rather than later.... sorry about the negativity lads, just so bloody frustrated just now with our club....any advice from a fellow blue to ease my frutration is more than welcome if the EDS post this.....cheers lads

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, couldn't give a s**t about the result, as long as they all give 100%. It was evident yesterday that their hearts were'nt in it but surely the amount of shxt going on, off the pitch, is bound to affect moral. Never mind, Phil Neville will probably deliver some BK written pile of drivle in tomorrow nights echo, to make us all feel better...but the bullshxt doesn't work any more and BK has to go...or he is going to drag this club down with him. (Wavertree Blue)

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. Evertonians will excuse a multitude of footballing sins, but the lack of effort and desire displayed yesterday is unforgivable. From team selection to player mentality it was all wrong, Moyes again made maddening substitutions and refused, from the first whistle, to attack argauble the worse team in the league. Whether we need new players or not (and its quite obvious that we do) we have more than enough to dish out a thumping to a side of QPR's quality, But they wanted it more, and the forty thousand evertonians who once again turned up to support the cause should not except that so easily.

As for kenwright, we are an attractive investment proposition. More than many teams who have been brought and sold recently. I cannot continue to believe that no one is interested, it simply does not add up (Blackburn, QPR, Man City, Liverpool and Aston Villa bigger and better than us?) For me, he wants to sell, but on his terms and an investor will not plough £300mill into a club and retain the old chairman, that is ludicrous. For all his decalrations of love for the club he seemingly does not have its best interests at heart.

He almost sold us to an inventor from Manchester, who was posing as an investment banker. Is that a man with his finger on the pulse?

Agree0 Disagree0

Grab a beer and chill mate, I understand what your saying, what can we do about it (heehaw), just support the lads when they are on the pitch and the good times will follow. (In our life times thats questionable but never give up hope).

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely hate playing 1 up front at home, Its because Moyes loves Cahill

Was at the match yesturday, i think people are going over the top a little, yes it wasn't a great performance, we were very slow and didn't get into QPR and the tempo was slow but we created chances and on another day we would of been 2-0 up before they scored there goal.
They had 2 chances and scored one, its just one of them games and will happen loads more before the season is finished.

Cahill shouldn't start for me, i love cahill, i even have his name on the back of my shirt so im not slating him, i just feel he would be much better coming off the bench as an impact player, can you imagine a tired defence looking across in the 70th minute and seeing tim cahill He's a nightmare for centre halfs.
Rodwell on the right was a weird decision for moyes, he clearly can't play there and was made to look a crap player, and i hate to say it but that was moyes fault
Play 4-4-2 next week against blackburn, there in poor form and low confidence and saha and beckford proved a few times (when they were partnered together) that they can cause problems to defender's.
Come on moyes, get positive and play positive, i know that system has worked in the past but teams know how to beat us, it needs changing
Also a few rumours at the match yesturday that although kenwright has said any money from sales will go the bank, people have said yobo money and IF yakubu goes moyes will be after Wright-Phillips, but will have to hurry as he is in talks with 2 or 3 clubs
I'd rather a striker to be honest but SWP would add speed and experience on the flanks
Paul EFC

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Here's one for everybody, Moyes to go - yes or no? Who would replace him? Would his sucessor get funds to buy new players? Worth a thought....

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Moyes to stay, doesn't matter ifa new manager came to us he would be a no mark compared to moysey and No he wouldn't get a penny to spend either, Moysey just need a kick up the arse and start playing 2 upfront as teams have sussed us out ffs is blatantly obvious and if moyse can't see that when all the fans are screaming it at him then it would be his own stupid stubborness that will put us in a relegation battle.

Yet again not the strt we wanted,im very disappointed that we lost at home to a newly promoted team But its been and gone lets get a win on wednesday in the carling cup then go to blackburn with a positive attacking attitude 442 becks and saha to start get a couple of goals then revert to 451 to hold the lead, qpr game was a freak performance from the lads and poor selection from the gaffer hopefully everybody would of learnt by the mistakes and we have a good run of form going into xmas and maybe possibly strenghen in january then cement our place in the top 7 and push for europe Despite all the financial worries and awful performance yesterday we all know what everton of capable of, im not worried at the moment Butets see where we are come january COYB

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Freak performance? Thats the point mate, it wasnt. We have relied for too long on late surges to ensure we finish in a respectable position, hopes are raised, we all say "maybe next year with a few additions..." and it never happens. what makes you think Moyes will play 4-4-2 away when he went 4-5-1 at home and played 4 central midfielders and a centre back across the middle of the park, against argauble the worst eleven players in the premier league? We cant keep papering over the cracks and convincing ourselves everything will eventually be okay. Beckford isnt good enough, Saha is way too injury prone and there isnt enough creativity in the middle of the pitch, Rodwell is half the player he was before he got injured and Arteta hasnt played well for two years. My suggestion, cash in on a big name, spend the money on a couple of attack minded players, even if their only loan signings we need someone who's instinct is to get forward and try to make things happen.

Not a rumour but does anyone else agree that if we need cash we should get rid of Rodwell. I just don't see why everyone rates him so highly, only passes sideways or backwards. Just don't think he's ever going to be the player most think he will be and if clubs want to give us a sizable fee for him then cash in. We could service some of the debt and we might get some for Moyes to work his magic with.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I agree, BUT I do think he'll be a great player one day, he passes backwards all the time because he's so defensive minded, he'll be a CB one day but I'd be happy to use him for cash.

Phil Jagielka planning Everton stay
21 August 2011 - 07:48 GMT, by Alex Goodchild

Everton boss David Moyes has revealed that Phil Jagielka is happy to stay at Goodison Park; and his manager is keeping him in the picture with any further bids from Arsenal for the player.

Everton have so far rejected one offer for the 15m rated defender, from Arsenal.

Moyes said: "I have had two or three conversations with Jags and he is up-to-date with everything and anything that has happened.

"He has said to me that, unless it is something Everton want to do, he is not going to be the one who instigates or pushes anything. It will only be if Everton want to do it and I certainly don't want to do it." {Ed025's Note - if the players believe in the club...thats good enough for me..

21 Aug 2011 09:08:10
The fact Moyes said, "We're short of a forward and winger" is showing MAYBE just MAYBE we'll get someone, I THINK we'll sell Yakubu and Yobo and possibly get someone, don't know who but at this rate I'd take anyone...

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Not exactly the worst stat in the world, other teams would be worse but they've not been in long enough, we're the longest serving team in the League

I think moyes should take a close look at the game on video and work out who's not doing the business.
I think we were constrained by arteta fell and Saha not being fit, hence the odd line up.
For me we have 2 problem players - heitinger and Cahill.
Heitinger moans if not selected - but moyes wants to keep him in case of injury to distin or jags
However playing heitinger as holding midfielder against a poor team like qpr is way too defensive and then leaves us way to short of options going forward
When lazy Cahill plays the other striker does not score

(that in on goal shot from Rodwell was
abysmal - he basically side foot passed it into keepers hands - I play local football with lads who can play better than that)

Do we know the bank that is putting the squeeze on the club, and if we do, there are enough of us to put pressure on them, by organising a boycott of their financial services.
