Although an avid reader of these pages I have not posted for a while. Although in recent weeks I have noticed an increase in negativity towards Martinez, totally unjustified in my opinion. We now have a manager with genuine belief in our club and who respects the club and its supporters and totally gets what Everton FC is.

Let's remember we are 11 games into the season and for whatever reason we are only 5 points off the top of the table. We are work in progress and I feel that we all would've settled for our current position had it been offered before a ball was kicked. I would like people to remember this should things not go our way on Saturday. Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe that we are more than capable of beating them, but derbies are a one off and can be decided either way by one error of judgement or one poor decision.

We all know that they only have a couple of players of genuine class. Perhaps an illegal substance in the pre-match carrott might help!

Whatever the result keep the faith fellow blues. {Ed025's Note - good post that mate, and nice to hear from you..

Thanks Ed, Every team has a blip during the season and I see a dip in form during which we gained a win at Villa, followed by 2 draws with clean sheets as a bonus, but some of the negativity had me looking for a length of rope and a tree. I hope like all of us that normal service will be resumed on Saturday. {Ed025's Note - its early days as you say SB, im more than happy the way things are progressing mate..

At the end of the day we are a team transitioning from one style to another, and while we are in transition there are going to be patches of blinding brilliance and likewise average performances. There's nothing too alarming yet, particularly seeing as we are just outside the European places so in reality we are ahead of schedule.
No need for the negativity yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more, Shropshire. Martinez is class in every way and we will be unrecognizably better in 12 months.
Before the Chelsea game the doom-mongers were predicting a relegation scrap. Now it's the end of November and we've lost one match playing open and progressive football and that's still not enough for some.

Fancy a 3-1 on Saturday fancy Jelavic to get on the scoresheet as well.

£5 on 2-1 with Lukaku FG for me mate, don't know what side is going to get the 2 goals though lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, donkey Jelavic to get on the scoresheet, good one.

You'd have been better off predicting a 6-1 win and donkey not scoring.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we play like we have the previous 2 games we don't have a prayer, with the form the dark side are in. If we can emulate the performance from the first half against Newcastle (and keep it up for the full 90) mix it with the chelski performance then it's a real 50/50 game. I wouldn't like to bet either way, not because I'm tight but it's a derby and lots of factors will come into play, of course, the referee may just affect the outcome as per usual.

im going 2-1 liverpool, yes I am getting more negative by the hour but I don't think we will get anything from this, lukaku to give us the lead then gerrard to score and then suarez, hope not but have a really bad feeling about this one and about jelavic, he is finished and lacks any footballing ability can we just cut our losses and move on?

I think suarez will, as he alwayts seems to do against us turn are defenders inside out but I can honestly say av never bet on us to lose, I mean if its 1 - 1 and your bets live were do your loyalities you would actually be happy to lose which I don't get

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, I must've missed it, or misinterpreted it, but who said they're happy to see us lose?

Agree0 Disagree0

You see guys, we can banter all day long about who scores and what the result might be. But as soon as betting is involved we all get a little precious. Betting is a mugs game, keep your money in your pocket and buy your Mrs something nice ;-)

Two poeple both doing Liverpool to win 2 1 I think that constitutes being happy to lose, as I said at 1 1 they would be happy to get there bet in

Agree0 Disagree0

How does a prediction 'constitute' being happy to lose? Show me a blue happy to lose a merseyside derby and i'll show you a bullsh!tt3r or a red in disguise

Have always gone into Derby week full of, 'come on boys we can do em' thoughts. Something different this week and am very apprehensive, not sure why but can't see us scoring.
Perhaps I need some tank driving hippie character from Kelly's Hero's type poster to shake me out of this. 'Hey mushy man stop with those negative thoughts!'
Hope I'm wrong.

Have you ever notice though Mushy when we are confident we get kicked in the teeth, let's all be apprehensive and we may get a shock this time mate

It's Monday morning in the classroom and the teacher's asking the kids to stand up and say what their fathers do for a living.
After the usual butcher, baker postman etc one little lad stands up and announces his dad's a lap dancer in a men only club.
Gobsmacked the teacher asks him to explain, at which the lad glumly states that each evening his dad puts on a sparkly thong, oils himself up and dances on tables for money and other mens enjoyment.
At the end of the lesson the teacher takes the kid to one side and asks him if what he said was true.
"Nah Miss" says the kid sadly, "He's really employed by liverpool football club but I was too embarrassed to tell everyone".
